Wildwood Restaurant & Bar in Maidstone

This was a pleasant early evening meal. Staff were all pleasant, there was a nice atmosphere and the staff were efficient in taking my order and serving. I don't understand why Wander who posted here didn't move if she felt unhygenic as its a large restaurant and there were only three other customers. This was full the night before and filling up as I left. The meal was well cooked, tasty, meaty and pasta cooked just right. Overall a pleasant experience.

The food was delicious! My friends and I had a lovely time and really enjoyed our meals/drinks. The waiters / waitresses were lovely as-well.

Superb food and drinks, the pizza was absolutely delicious, my daughter really anjoyed her chicken and chips, excellent customer service.

Our food was acceptable and service was attentive but we were one of just three customers. The corner we were sat at smelt very musty and cushions were all badly stained plus there were cobwebs hanging under the seats. The floor didn’t appear to have been cleaned for some time and there was dust on the windowsills and the floor. Bad enough under the current circumstances but worse when you are ordering food, I would not return. We couldn’t even eat our food as our appetites were ruined by the serious lack of hygiene. I didn’t want to spoil my daughters treat any more than it had been already so we just paid up and left.

I cannot compliment these guys enough. The service was amazing! The restaurant was so clean and well decorated, the staff were soo lovely and the food was AMAZING! I had a baked Brie to start and a seafood risotto as a main, and I 10000% recommend! The drinks were lovely, and the options on menu were wonderful. I’ll be back soon for sure :)

Booked a table with my partner for 4.30 and then when we got there it was empty and we were sat in the worst seats in the entire restaurant even though every table was free, terrible to treat your customers who have actually rung up before hand to book a table, also the man who sat us was very rude and unprofessional. Stay away on days he is working!

had a problem with one of our dishes this evening. spoke to Kasia, she was very apologetic and after getting a new order sent through on deliveroo she had also organised to send us a little extra. absolutley amazing customer service. human errors happen and the way it was delt with was perfect.

I walked in without a mask straight away asked by a lovely polite man if I can wear one I explained I had asthma and showed my asthma pump he was very understanding and completely made me feel comfortable not being judged or anything. I walked into the place we was seated I got a few stares (from not wearing a mask) felt very judged and as if I was being looked upon and straight away was very uncomfortable. We was seated all was good until the end the waitress said please can you put a face mask on I explained again I can’t it was only Last week I had an asthma attack and had to go to hospital. She said okay and then later on explained that a couple who was sitting next to us had complained to her that I should be wearing a face mask and that’s why she had to ask again which I didn’t agree with because she knew I had asthma she could of said back to the couple she is exempt and has asthma. I felt very uncomfortable the whole time and very judged. I shouldn’t of felt like this because I have a medical health condition that stops me wearing a mask. Just because I can’t wear a mask does that automatically mean I’m not allowed to go out because I will be stared at and judged ? People should understand I made it clear on my arrival I had asthma showed my proof so later on in the night I shouldn’t of been asked to wear one again especially because someone complained about me to the waiter! my friend who I was with was wearing a face covering so surely it was obvious I couldn’t! Not just the fact I didn’t want to! Very upset and did ruin my evening the fact people didn’t understand and judged me. Especially when the restaurant knew I had asthma and to be asked again is just shocking.

I’ve been going to this Wildwood for years with family and friends to celebrate occasions such as birthday meals, graduation meals etc and have had such great experiences.This week I took my best friend for her birthday and had a very disappointing service.We waited over an hour for our meals, and when I asked a staff member for an update on the food she barely responded, couldn’t be bothered and continued with what she was doing and never went to check.The food finally came out 30 minutes before the restaurant closed... 15minutes into eating, we were then brought our bill and asked to pay. I’d also requested for a birthday plate to surprise my friend - which never came.I have never been so disappointed in a Wildwood trip. Although the food was nice (and which we obviously had to take home with no time given to eat it), it was a real let down in comparison to my previous experiences.A shame.

Most restaurants empty but Wildwood full - We wondered why ? The reasons are simple - good food good price and absolutely brilliant staff. This place was so good we visited again the next night. We were recognisd even wearing our face masks! and he even said you can have the same table. Amazing memory with all thos people. Made us feel special. Went Sunday night after work and was greeted by someone called Kasia . Her customer service and her attitude is far from what you would expect. Rude is the only way I can describe her . I can not wear a face covering at the moment due to an operation . Was asked to prove it which I did but still said wasn’t enough evidence . Think the government states that legally you do not have to supply proof to them Only one other table being used in the whole restaurant She was asking for very personal details . Left and went to Zizzi’s where we got exceptional service and great good

A good place to go for a decent meal at a sensible price. The menu offers good choices with mainly Italian style food but also dishes such as ribs.All the food tasted delicious.The waiter did everything possible to ensure our meal was enjoyed.Definitely recommended.

My wife, my daughter and I went to this restaurant for Sunday lunch on 6th of September. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, the atmosphere was very relaxed and we were made to feel very comfortable. The food was great, I had Chorizo Carbonara, excellent, full of flavour, my wife had a sausage and caramelised onion Calzone and my daughter had chicken & chorizo risotto, all were excellent. We shall certainly be returning. The place is very Covid friendly.

I really struggle to understand the ignorance and stupidity of the previous poster. Just because you book a table does not mean you push to the front of the queue.This is a great restaurant with extraordinary staff working in very difficult times offering a great service . We have no problem recommending eating here. Germano the manager, Bernie and Kasha are outstanding members of staff. Well done to you all.

Booked a table for 3 on Wednesday 19th August lunchtime. There was a queue at the door waiting but they had not pre booked. My party walked to the front as we had pre booked a table. To our horror we were told customers waiting who had not booked were let in front of us. We received a very rude response from the staff member at the door. So pointless pre booking a table you still wait in the queue. We went else where to never return to such a rude staff member . No wonder it was the only restaurant in earl street not full up with such rude staff.

I enjoyed a meal here last night. The food was good and the service was very friendly. The decor was very modern and clean. I would definitely visit again.

We have been going to this restaurant since it first opened nearly 10 years ago. It has always been excellent. In fact we had lunch there the day before lockdown, so we thought it was the perfect place to go for dinner on our first post lockdown trip out. I'm not sure what has happened-new chef maybe? but the food was terrible. It wasn't just disappointing it was out and out terrible. I had a classic burger and left half of it. It was bitter from being burnt. Not well done-but burnt. We also had carbonarra that was watery and had to send back as it had no bacon in it. We also had a spicy prawn spaghetti dish that was bland and not in the least bit spicy.Having gone there regularly in the past, it is safe to say that this was our last visit. It just isn't worth it. There are too many other places that serve good food to justify going there. Avoid!

Decided to go for dinner because of the eat out help out scheme, food was lovely and the staff were very friendly, particularly front of house and waiter, good atmosphere, would definitely recommend!

first visit, last visit.. Sent flat lemonade back, got flat lemonade as a replacement. Pizza was stone cold, chips cold. Slowish service. Overpriced for a extremely average dinner out... If you are desperate to eat, i would still go hungry than return.. 😞

This is my partner and I's favourite restaurant and we always have a lovely time with great food. The pizza is especially good. This was our first meal out post Covid 19, and we felt very comfortable. We had a table away from other diners in the corner (everyone was spaced out), asked to antibac our hands upon arrival and the parmesan cheese was given to us in a tub (which I prefered as I got lots!). The waitress was very nice and we are so glad we went. Thank you :)

Enjoyed a fantastic meal at Wildwood with my wife. One of our first meals out post CV19 lockdown and this was a great night out. Restaurant was really well managed and felt very safe. Staff as always so friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, we went for pizzas which were perfect. Great to see it back.

We booked this as a lunch time treat for our children after finishing school and being in lockdown, we had been here previously.A limited menu for adults and children, staff are nice but you feel they are not attentive, the food in general was very nice and tasty but unfortunately when we asked for a specific meal to be slightly changed it in fact was very tasteless (such a pity)Maybe they were not used ot this request but I felt it was a waste but I only knew once the meal had finished and my son told me why he left most of his choice.Not too pricey.

We were feeling peckish around 1100 but nowhere would be open until 1200 (!) except Wildwood which opened at 1130!!! This was also during the Coronavirus social distancing so there was a 50% discount for lunch which was totally irresistible. The menu is amazing with options across the grill, pizza, pasta and risotto. The food was cooked fresh and totally tasty. The staff we friendly and efficient - exactly what you need: on the ball, knowledgable about the menu and attentive with their service. The restaurant facilities were being cleaned while we attended - they smelled fresh and left a good impression; it left me the impression of a good sense of team work, pride in the workplace and attention being paid to those little details that count. I had lunch with other half on my day off but have also been here for Mother’s Day. This is a great place as a High Street alternative for a meal out. Thumbs up from me :-)

Midweek trip to wildwood was very good - I felt sorry for the staff as it was virtually empty due to the virus scare keeping people away. The service was excellent and the food good

From the drinks to the starter to the main course it was terrible.The lemonade had run out of syrup and just tasted like soda water and the lines for the beer taps hadn’t been cleaned, you can taste it in the drink. The rosemary garlic bread was just rosemary sprinkled on some bread and the pizza was incredibly greasy. They don’t have another fryer for those with allergies probably because they don’t clean the fryer out. The pizzas were falling apart and were difficult to eat as all the toppings just slipped off! Would not recommend.

We have been there 3 times now, always have to wait longer than most of the restaurant. Also tried delivery from them. The delivery was faster then the service in the restaurant, but the pizza was cold.

Met my friend here for dinner and we hadn’t booked. A lovely waitress immediately asked if I needed the gluten free and vegan menu - which I did! Very pleasantly surprised. I’m wheat and dairy intolerant and rarely get this service. She explained I can mix and match, that they provide gf pizza bases and I can add vegan cheese etc. She showed us to our table and then also brought over the allergen book so I could look up any dish should I need to and see what allergen was in it. Fabulous! To someone who doesn’t have intolerances or allergies this may seem very insignificant but to me it is massive! I’m so often made to feel like I’m an annoyance, a pain, awkward customer, when eating out but I get very ill from eating these allergens and although not allergic it still affects my daily life severely. The waitresses were both on the ball, knew what was in most dishes, could advise, took their time and made sure I was looked after and ate a meal that was totally safe for me. If only more restaurants could cater for people like me as they did. Eating out would be a delight rather than something to dread. My gf pizza with vegan cheese was delicious. I will be back! And a big thank you to the lovely waitresses and the chefs!

Visited Wildwood Maidstone and ordered to rare steaks, a litttle disappointed as expected to cut in to steak and waited for it to ooze juices but it didn't. More med/rare however it was tasty and tender. Vegetables limp and soggy.

Went here on February 21st for a meal before going to the Hazlett theatre. We didn't book a table but took s chance. No problem they said. chose our own table. As we like to sit nextcto each other. Lovely and clean, quick service very friendly and polite. Always have water on the table. Drinks and starters came quickly, very tasty. We had fish which was cooked to perfection, vegetables and a sause.

Everything went fine but food portion was on the small side. Apart from that the service was very good and was looked after.

From start to finish, I was severed with excellence. The waitress was polite and always smiled. The food was divine. I had a wildwood turkey burger and it was cooked to perfection.

Good food and good value, especially with the 50% off code. Staff were friendly and efficient. Would recommend.

We had a table booked for 14 of us over Christmas assuming that this was something they were used to. Frustratingly, we were told we couldn’t order food and drinks on the same bill... we had to order at the bar?! The waiter couldn’t explain why. He also got very confused with the glass of Prosecco per person and bought 3 glasses for 14 people. We had to again challenge them.

Read the fine print on menus as there was an additional surcharge on a steak yet the menu was advertised as a 3 course for £19,95. Yet the steak was full of sinew. 2hrs15 for a meal on a pre-set menu the kitchen needs to improve.

The staff were very welcoming and attentive. We had three children with us who’s needs were catered for. I couldn’t fault the food or the service.

Warm welcome, good food, comfortable and pleasant surroundings. It is also right opposite a convenient car park in Maidstone, Kent.

The food and service were both excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and very helpful accommodating one of our party who was gluten free. The gluten free menu was very good and had a wide variety of options, which you don't often get in restaurants. The atmosphere for a Tuesday night was also brilliant, which I think was helped by the 50% off food!

This is the second time I have used Wildwood for a friends catch up meal. Both times the food,drinks and atmosphere was great. The price was reasonable too. We didn’t feel rushed and the atmosphere was great.

We had not been here before, but were so happy with our choice. The food was fantastic. The sticky toffee pudding in particular was amazing.

Dined at Wildwood as a family of 4. All of us had something different and all meals were delicious. In particular the baked mushroom starter and Philly cheese steak sandwich main.

We came in a group of 50 for a works do and very impressed. I had a pre conceived idea of a chain restaurant type meal - this completely surpassed my expectations. I had King prawns to start, Seabass for main and Eton Mess for pudding and it was absolutely delicious. Will be going back for sure. Staff so attentive too.

Had a table for 2 booked for myself + friend and wanted to try somewhere new. The restaurant was really busy but they still made us feel welcome. The food really is delicious, with a very good menu + lots to choose from. Will definitely be visiting this place again. All staff were really charming + had the time to chat to us.

Food is alway delicious and good value for money there was 15 of us so service was very very slow but I would still recommend a visit as they do there very best to give you good service.

Our “ pasta place” of choice of the many in Maidstone ( or even in this street!). The manager and his team couldn’t be more friendly and efficient, the pasta is fresh and tasty and midweek there are always deals which make this Wildwood even more affordable.

Visited for my sisters birthday - been twice now - I have had the roast turkey and the lasagne! Both absolutely lovely! Piping hot, really tasty and a nice portion! Really nice atmosphere, nice setting and lovely staff! Would definitely be back again!

From the moment I made the initial booking to us leaving for our works Christmas party we had excellent customer service. We had a total of 32 guests and the waitresses did an amazing job giving out all the correct food. The bar staff were exceptional with their service for our drinks, always given with a smile and a chat with no waiting time. Excellent value for money. Overall very pleased with the food and the whole ambience of this restaurant.

I really wish that I asked the waitress name, she was AMAZING! From an allergen question, right to the end, we were very well looked after and nothing was too much. Thank you for a lovely evening Wildwood Maidstone !

My colleagues attended Wildwood yesterday for their christmas lunch and were not overall impressed. The food was nice but a few downsides to the experience were cold potatoes - cold custard and turkey that wasn't turkey? The food was nice but there was a few downsides.

Group visit to wildwood but had not reserved a table. The waiter was lovely and helped the evening to go off well. Good food and fabulous puddings.

Was lovely meal and excellent service. The hot drinks along with some of the menu was off because of a breakdown but the waiter went out of his way to make some tea for a few of us

The meal was superb! everything came out hot and cooked as requested. The service was excellent the staff were amazing and looked after us really well. We also had a few people with dietary requirements and allergies and they catered for everyone superbly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant especially as it was a large group of us (28) and every singe person was really impressed and happy with their meal. Compliments to the chef and 5***** to the staff. thank you for everything.

Came for a work Christmas party. Staff were amazing and very accommodating, excellent atmosphere. One party member had to wait a while for their main course to come, but the waiter did offer them a complimentary drink which was nice. Food was ok, some elements (veg) slightly cold, but overall a lovely evening to celebrate.

This was a works do, the Christmas pizza is terrible, the worse thing I’ve ever eaten in any restaurant I’ve ever been to. Got charged twice for one drink, the only good thing we’re the staff who I could fault.

Pre ordered (month prior) from the festive menu to be given 2 wrong meals. All meals we’re taken back and correct meals brought out. 1 meal (fish was cold) and looked like the original dish just brought back. Festive Christmas dinners, Turkey was lovely, potatoes were cold, veg so so. Deserts were supposed to be orange chocolate brownie, definitely not orange!

Went here last night. Was made to feel very welcome with the waitress explaining how they could change dishes to suit vegetarian diet. The service was excellent from her throughout. Starters were lovely. The new guy who cleared our plates I think forgot to tell the kitchen to send the mains. Therefore we waited about half an hour or more between dishes. Would have been fine normally but was in a rush for the theatre. We did rush our food and asked for the bill mid eating. Food was good, pasta not piping hot. Overall a fairly good meal.

I was shopping with my 10 year old daughter, when we decided to have lunch here and it was lovely relaxing atmosphere. I had an email with a kids eat for a pound. Such great value for money.

5 of us visited here this evening for a Birthday Meal. Really friendly staff we couldn’t fault them at all, decor lovely and comfortable seating, we had a lovely table in the Window but unfortunately the food was a disappointment. Chicken Penne without the Chicken x 2 No Olives in the Prawn and Olive Spaghetti and an Ant swimming in the Cocktail Unfortunately left us all feeling slightly We did tell the Staff and the pasta wasn’t charged for and neither was the Cocktail they couldn’t have apologised enough but not the Monday Evening we were all excited about! I’d like to think it was because it was a Monday evening but we would not rush back... If the Good was as good as the Service then we would have highly recommended.

Our group of friends always seems to end up at Wildwood for lunch when we have a half day, and we aways order the same!

We booked a table for a friends birthday meal and can honestly say the service was awful, we were in there 2 hours and only had 2 drinks and that was purely because of how long we hand to wait, the food was OK, nothing special, won’t be going there again, disappointing

We used a 50% off all food offer to have an early evening meal. We come to this restaurant 6 or 7 times a year. My partner had her usual which is the wild boar burger and it was as good as usual.

We decided to have lunch in the Wildwood Ittalian restaurant in Maidstone, Kent and both the food and service were excellent. I downloaded the app with all the special offers and we got 40% of the cost of the total meal; this was excellent value for money and would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Maidstone

Went out for a celebratory dinner and each had 3 courses. The bruschetta was good however the tomatoes we found were almost a bit fizzy. I personally didn’t enjoy my main of carbonara pizza but I think I would have preferred a burger which others at my table did and enjoyed a lot. The desserts were very nice, sticky toffee one of the nicest I’ve ever had. Staff were nice and in general was a pleasant dinner

Visited Wildwood for lunch while visiting Maidstone for the day. Just walked in off the street and expected a run of the mill Italian. Everything about the experience was stunning from the welcome on arrival, the amazing Brie (with a hint of honey) starter, tasty Baked Carbonara, Delicious Duck Pizza, magnificent desserts, banter with the staff and excellent ambiance. Living in Dubai we are lucky to experience fantastic restaurants on a weekly basis, however the lunch at Wildwood was on a par with any 5* Dubai Restaurant, what an unexpected surprise in the middle of Maidstone high street.

Monday lunchtime was perfect and with on-line vouchers we got a 50% discount. Superb setting, great service from a young Portuguese waiter (sorry didn't get his name), and the food was tasty and fast.

No complaints - nice restaurant for an evening out with old work colleagues - a favourite of ours - will be back

My wife and I shared a Garlic bread for starter-more than enough. The Hoisin duck pizza was first class and the njuda sausage pizza was excellent. Our waiter was Portugese and very chatty, service was very good.Highly reccomended.

We visited yesterday for my husband’s birthday, my husband and I, our three children and my husbands parents.

We fairly frequently visit Wildwood Reasuatrant and Bar in Maidstone for a meal. It is a pleasant venue and the staff are always friendly, helpful and attentive. We feel that we receive a personal welcome on arrival and other diners always seem happy too.

We took a couple with us here and they enjoyed themselves very much. The food was delicious and the service could not have been any better.

I came into the wildwood it was amazing from start to finish, great food great prices and lovely staff especially the manager German he made us both feel very welcome. Great customer skills And Joana was very helpful. I was very impressed with Leonel he was very nice and so helpful, he made our visit very nice. He is deffo a asset to the company. Had a Calamari starter,which was very nice,but I don't like my food served up on a board. Then had a burger,I don't normally eat burgers,but this was very nice. Waitress and service was excellant.

Food was great, can’t complain except for our waitress who was a tad grumpy and didn’t smile once, although, she did check up, other waitresses who passed were very nice and welcoming. Overall a good experience and would definitely come back again. Cocktails were amazing!!

Went here in May for anniversary meal with my partner and have to say it is the best restaurant I have ever been too. Beautifully decorated with a lovely atmosphere. Food was absolutely to die for and they offer a great range of drinks including cocktails. Staff were so lovely and the prices are brilliant! Only thing I wasn't too keen on is the fact that the toilets are mixed for both male and female. However, I've been wanting to return every weekend since! Cannot wait to go back!
