Wildens Restaurant in Braintree

Last minute decision to have lunch out, the main restaurant was busy there was a large group booked in, but we were seated in the bar area. We all had the small plate meal's, everything was hot, nicely presented and tasted great. Staff were attentive and helpful, drink's reasonable price.

Came for Mother’s Day and the whole family loved it! We all had three courses and the lamb was a big hit with my mum who said it was melt in the mouth! I had the Cajun prawns, sirloin of beef followed by the pavlova! All truly delicious…. Service from the team was great, made us all feel really special and at home. Thank you Weavers we will def be coming again soon!

It was alright, the service was great the people were lovley and the atmosphere was nice. The food however wasn't. The meat was very rare and they didn't even ask how I wanted it. It was very chewy and the brownie I had for dessert was cold and hard. Overall service was great but food wasn't.

Just go here! We decided to have a “fizz friday” bottle for only £10! To wash down a Seafood platter which they made from one person into a sharer! It was delicious with homemade Tartare Sauce! Shelley was our waitress, she made our visit so welcoming, with great service and chat. Thank you so much. The place was full with Weavers catering for a wake in the bar area but managed to fit us in, in the main restaurant which was quieter but pretty much full as well, thats how popular this place is and all at reasonable prices.

Came here for our Valentine’s Day meal and we could not fault a thing. Such a warm welcome from Alison & Lee which made us feel immediately at home. The food was exceptional, clearly cooked fresh to order and beautifully presented. Overall we could not have wished for more - we will definitely be back!

I visited today with the family, we booked a Sunday lunch four adults, two children. Two vegetarians and one coeliac. On arrival my daughter’s menu was highlighted with what she could have and she was made to feel special. The food was piping hot, plentiful and so tasty. I loved my vegetable pot pie, and the home made Yorkshire puddings were enormous. The desserts well what can I say the fudge cake looked amazing, I had the passion fruit cheesecake it was the perfect combination the best cheesecake I have had in a long time. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, friendly and kind.

Weavers never disappoint. The food was wonderful. The waiter very knowledgeable. Another wonderful and tasty meal(s), a steak and seabass. Full of flavour served with a gerenous portion of vegetables, too many really. Staff are always so friendly and attentive and Saturday's visit was no exception. As always highly recommended and well worth booking a table.

This restaurant is in a village hall and when you first arrive, you start to have doubts. We need not have worried. The reastaurant is at the rear of the premises and has a nice feel to it. The staff are excellent, friendly and professional. Most importantly, the food is very good. It is not an extensive menu but it has something for everyone. Good value for money and we will be back.

We had a meal here last Saturday lunchtime - only 5 people dining should have been a warning but the previous reviews were very good..... The menus arrived - A la Carte, set menu and specials menu no mixing - we had the set menu and my wife went for the special menu - starter of shrimps with black tinted avocado under a tablespoon of gloopy pink sauce... the special was aubergine with cheese. For the main course my Father had pork, I had a huge piece of salmon drowning in cream sauce and my wife had a monkfish cooked in breadcrumbs as dry as a bone,nothing at all special despite the menu's title.. The vegetables were boiled potatoes, broccoli, carrots and cabbage - average enough. For pudding I had an enormous portion of bland chocolate cheesecake with a thin biscuit base, ice cream and squirty aerosol cream. The high point was the Petit Chablis wine at 20 pounds, which was very good value and the wait staff were friendly and efficient. There is a Chippy/Chinese take-away 50 metres up the road on the right - I wish we had gone there... However my Father liked it so much he booked a table for the next week on the spot - Maybe this is what local people like.

Lovely Sunday lunch, the food was very tasty. Sadly I had to have salmon for a Sunday 'meat' even though it was really tasty it doesn't come close to having roast chicken or turkey on the menu. I'm not able to eat the darker meats, the only choice was a bread crumbed chicken. Not ideal in my opinion for a gravy Sunday lunch of which is what I was wanting on a Sunday lunchtime. If I had thought before going I would've checked this. The restaurant was very busy but we would have liked a more friendly welcome. The staff already crossed our name off the list before we'd got there and 3 times we had to tell the waiting staff our surname. Even when we paid the bill, it would have been better to actually have someone that was pleased for our business. Overall disappointed (reasons why only 3 stars) as we had heard good reviews of this restaurant.
