No stars as although booked for 8 people over a month ago, when we arrived last night the restaurant was closed. We had not been informed and there was a handwritten note left on the door that said that the place was closed due to a problem with gas. We had travelled from a number of different places to get to Swansea and were really disappointed. We had not been contacted and were so looking forward to our annual trip here. We had to find somewhere else to eat that could accommodate 8 people, not easy at this time of year.

It was closed on a Tuesday 17:30

Excellent food and service. Good value. The best chinese restaurant I have been to in years.Thoroughly recommend this place.

Always a first class meal. Great range of food, but we go for the set meal which is ideal for the two of us with a good mixture of dishes. Service good as long as your not in a rush at busy times. Looking forward to going again.

First course came in dribs and drabs, No meat on ribs. Very long wait for food to be served. A table who came in after us was served their food before us. No atmosphere. First and last time to visit.

What has happened to the wild swan !!?? I have been going here for 27+ years and absolutely loved the place , but recently it has been getting worse and worse, tonight’s meal (apart from having to wait 30 mins , first time ever , after my collection time ) the food was more or less inedible!! It will sadly be my last visit !!! COME BACK RAYMOND !!!!!!!!

Absolutely beautiful Chinese food in a fabulous restaurant will be definitely visiting again and really helpful staff and good value for money

Went with a party of 6 to the wild swan we had the set meal for 6, which was tasty, varied, and fresh. Would return to do it over again

Fantastic Chinese restaurant in the middle of the city. NCP car parking in walking distance. Went there for dinner. Was first time to the restaurant. Ordered only seafood items. Started with soup ,which was fantastic. All dishes were having the authentic taste. Sizzler’s were very nice and was the noodles. Ambience is above average with a carp pool .Service is quick and staff were very polite.Squid and prawns were outstanding in taste. They accept all credit cards . Chocolate at the end was a surprise for kids.

Visited here a few times and the food is delicious and the set menu is good value for money, the prawn crackers could be a little fresher seems they are sitting open for a while. Staff are lovely although sometimes can be a little slow as it seems only certain staff take drink order and others for food. Nonetheless we enjoy our visit every time :)

This is by far the best sit down Chinese restaurant in Swansea. I’ve had a takeaway from here but I find the food much nicer to sit it and enjoy it freshly cooked. The staff can’t do enough for you, it is very reasonably price my only suggestion is that it could do with a revamp but don’t be put off but the decor because the food is absolutely amazing. I definitely recommend the ribs to start as they are the best I’ve ever tasted. Overall experience in here is amazing and always is can’t wait to visit again.

From the outside, with the water flowing down the windows, you wouldn't imagine what was inside (in a pleasant way). The staff were friendly, we showed up without a reservation and were seated shortly after arrival. To keep us occupied in this short wait (less than 5 minutes) we watched the Koi in the pond which our little guest enjoyed a lot. Orders were taken swiftly and accurately. I enjoyed the window into the kitchen watching the kitchen god's hard at work (I don't think I'd like it for myself at work but appreciate it as a customer). Said food was delivered at a shockingly, Incredible, efficient pace by wonderful waiting staff. The food is placed on the centre of the table on tea-light lit heating stands on seemingly small plates. Don't be deceived by the perception of small portions. There was more than enough food (we had to take some home). The taste of the food was very good, the aesthetics were great too. The overall cost was quite reasonable for a dining in experience that was perfect. I hope to return for other special occasions with the family soon.

Visited twice one time as a larger table and another as a table of 3. Food has been excellent on both occasions with great flavour although sometimes the prawn crackers don’t feel fresh and are a little stale. My young daughter is obsessed with the fish pond and trying to keep her away is impossible. This restaurant has been going for a long time so could definitely do with an upgrade and offering draft or glass bottles soft drinks rather than 2 litre bottle poured into glasses

Had my 60th birthday with my mum. Lovely Chinese decor, good atmosphere, attentive service, esp by Hillary the charming waitress and the pleasant waiter. Delicious food kept hot at the table, champagne and Tia Maria coffee to top off the evening. Highly recommended.

We booked the table for Christmas Eve as we thought it was something different than we usually have and we were bored of the restaurant we go to every year. I accidentally booked the table for 6 instead of 7 which was not a problem for the staff and they had added an extra chair for us. The food was very good and came out very quickly. I loved the spinning table so that everyone could share the food. The staff were friendly answering the questions we had about the food and helping us have a wonderful Christmas Eve. The interior was beautiful with a little bridge leading to the seats and a fish pond with real fish swimming. My mother really enjoyed the sofas in front and wished we could sit on those instead 😂

Very nice food with some interesting decorative features inside. (Fishpond and Water window feature) I have high standards when it comes to my Chinese sit downs and I won't even go anywhere else as I must have had 15 sit downs here and left happy every time.

myself and my partner tryed this place for the first time and we will be back the food was out standing very welcoming and very polite we will be back with friends beauitful food.

Lying to the public for years is awful, the owner has been telling Muslims the food is halal when in fact it is not, all to make a quick profit. Please be warned the food here is not halal, despite what the owner says, we the Swansea community expect an apology.

Haven't been here in over a decade and very pleased to say that the food hasn't changed and it's still great as is the service. Reasonably priced too. Must try the fillet steak in Cantonese sauce!

Stunning place. Beautiful decor with a pond and waterfall windows, and the table layout is pristine. The staff are so polite and service was top tier, and the food selection was quite good. The only thing I was slightly disappointed with was vegetarian options, but I didn’t expect too much as it was a Cantonese. But if you’re not vegetarian, theres not a single problem!

Walked in tonight (Saturday) at 9:30. "Sorry, we're closing, the chef has left. We can do you a takeaway". I can't see how that could work. We have tried many times to eat here over some years now. They always seem to find a way to be closed. No problem chaps, we won't try again.

We had a set meal for 2 with a extra side dish food was lovely service was good only problem with this restaurant is surrounded by loading bays so we had a lovely relaxed evening only to find a parking ticket issued at 7 30pm you would think by that time of night on a Saturday that the loading bays wouldn't be getting used especially down a side alley I would like to see a notice on the bar warning you could be booked even as late as 7 30 pm these bays aren't getting used its swansea council out earning there money I suppose

Attended with my 3 younger children and grown up son and girlfriend. The kids loved the lazy Susan in the middle of the table and afforded them to help themselves to as much variety as they wanted. It’s a good old fashioned sit down Chinese and was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday evening. The food was really good especially the ribs and duck. The service was great too. Can’t fault it.

The two female staff who served us today are very nice and warm. We had good small talk, and those lovely ladies really made my day. We sat for a long time, even till closing, but they never chased us to leave. The food is decent and delicious. Don't hesitate to give it a try.

Another amazing meal at The Wild Swan. The go to Chinese restaurant in Swansea. Extensive menu, so fresh and tastes amazing all serve by very friendly and efficient staff.

We were so pleased to return to this restaurant which we discovered a couple years ago on a previous visit to Swansea. We went for the set meal for 4 ,copious portions of excellent quality food. Starters were spare ribs which don't normally float my boat but these had plenty of tender meat. Then came the main dishes which were absolutely delicious. All washed down with Chinese tea. The service was impeccable and attentive as we remembered. The little Chines bridge from the reception to the main restaurant, the decor, napkins which match the chairs just ooze quality. And who can forget their trademark waterfall window which gives the impression of pouring rain. Which it often does in Swansea

We had a very lovely meal here. Yes the decor is a little dated, but the food was gorgeous. The customer service was 2nd to none. I've never had my food served to me so professionally before. The staff are hit on it, attention to detail was outstanding. Thank you fir a lovely evening.

In urgently need of a refurb. Wife had chicken she enjoyed. Duck for me wouldn't recommend it.

We had a family of 4 sit down meal We had crab claw starter .. dumplings.. spicy ribs.. satay prawn sticks. Mains We had most mix curry. Mushroom rice. Egg fried rice with sweet and sour prawns Vermicelli noodles and Mixed meat chow mein with added beansprouts. Curry sauce We didn't enjoy the curry or the curry sauce very weak tasting and watery. Everything else was nice. Very nice

Just ordered a collection from this Chinese, I said what I wanted and normally where I’m from “Powys” it’s £16 but it was £31 from this Chinese but I thought after seeing all the good reviews the food will be worth it, but it was shocking nothing compare to what I get from fortune house in Powys, £31 just to feed my dog. I ain’t eating this garbage it tastes like grass and it’s hard to even try eat sum of it, and I ain’t eaten all day, chicken looks terrible , there was no quality here! What a shame, I never leave reviews but this place…. After seeing all the good reviews lol just terrible! avoid, my dog don’t even want it, I’d add a photo of it all in my dogs bowl but not letting me for some reason, shaming

I came here alone without reservation on the peak time but the staffs were super friendly and helped me to have a table. Their food is perfect. Highly recommend.

Visited on a Sunday night, and had the special set meal for 3, at £25 per head. Not a great start - nobody to greet us, and when someone did eventually turn up we were asked to sit down at the entrance for 5 minutes 🤷 (no offer of a drink while we waited). The decor is a bit dated but ok, and there is not much atmosphere in the restaurant. There IS a large window into the kitchen, which is both interesting to watch through, and reassuring in respect of kitchen practices. The food was a bit variable. Lovely honey spare ribs, but artificial tasting satay chicken. The crispy aromatic duck was nice, but the mains were patchy. Lovely crispy chilli beef, prawns and sizzling beef, but the Kung Po chicken just wasn't like any I had had before. The broccoli and garlic was lovely. Service was patchy - we had to call people over several times. We weren't offered chopsticks, and had to ask for cutlery twice. They got the bill wrong by £21 in my favour - (I got them to add the wine that they had forgotten to add). Not a bad place and not bad food, but lots of easy ways they could do better. Give it a try. We might have gone on an off night.

Had a Family meal here recently. I can’t say I was overly impressed! I found the place grubby and in need of a lick of paint. Food average, poor understanding Staff. Go to the best Cantonese in the World, The Riverside in Cardiff!

Absolutely stunning food . Spare ribs ,chicken balls and beef Cantonese style was all fabulous . Party of 4 ,all had different meals and everyone said how amazing theirs was . First time I’ve ever been and staff were lovely ,can’t wait till my next visit .

so we were recommended this place by friends, after looking up the reviews we thought they were ok a few bad reviews but nothing major. Please avoid this place I love my food and this was by far the worse I’ve ever had in my life.. Firstly the curry was like soup, the chicken balls were full of grease and the chips well I probably could have fed my 3 year old them there was so little, £45 I spent there I would have rather starved. this place has gone to the dogs… so disappointed

Several years ago I used to come to this restaurant alot with my family , I even came here for my graduation. 3 years ago I came here and left a 1 star review due to the rudeness of a women who was on management duty and the staff being poorly trained and the place having no heating. However, I came back here on Friday for Christmas Eve for a meal with my family and I have to say what a difference. The staff were highly trained, the on shift manager was very kind and helpful and the food was outstanding. What a difference easily back to its 10/10 standard. Thank you for a great start to the new year.

Looks empty from the outside, but everyone is seated over the bridge and in the back. Don't go past! Staff are awesome, really attentive and go out of their way for you. Great choice on the menu, plenty of classic dishes to choose from. Can recommend the beef satay. Big dishes to fill you up. Delicious food. Only downside was the manager (I think?) who was training the new server and riding them like Shergar. Awkward to watch them hovering over them and correcting every single move, genuinely gave me anxiety for the poor girl. Definitely recommend if you're staying in the area!

food is unbelievable, it’s amazing!! all of the soups are the best, the rice is just rice as you may think but they make it so delicious, i don’t know what is in it but it’s always lovely. the curry is so tasty, the staff are also honestly so friendly and helpful; they make an effort to get to know you and talk to you. love going there all the time.

I think the 5 stars comes from the amazing vintage decor inside the restaurant. The water feature inside (waterfall form in the window & a pond in the lounge with a bridge) is awesome. The food is good. It is despatched to your table in a surpisingly quick fashion. Each dish (char siu pork, beef with crunchy noodles in black bean sauce, lamb with ginger + chips and rice) was a pleasant choice. Prices are not too bad, probably vastly varying an average of £8-11 for each main. The waitresses were very keen and friendly, as well. Considering the speed of the service and the quality of the food, as well as the atmosphere (got to love that bridge), I think I will actually come here again. I just have to give it five stars for the old school water features.

First time going here and it seemed to have pretty good reviews so was excited to try it out but unfortunatly it didnt turn out good the chicken balls were really greasy, sweet and sour sauce tastes like vinegar and the chicken fried rice wasnt good either the rice was overcooked I would not go here again

Slow service but excellent food

Really enjoyed our food esp since some meats were halal which is hard to find! Ordered the black bean beef, Singapore noodles, Szechuan squid, prawn toast and duck! Good portions with authentic flavours (noodles could’ve been more flavourful). Tad pricey but will deffo recommend and order again. :)

Special curry had no prawn or mushrooms and was nothing moor then coloured water very little tast. Crispy beef enough for 1 person Rice and curry full of peas Total cost for the meal £36 A total taistless waist of time never will i spend my cash there again Will pay for good food but this food was as poor as it got Had to mix instant curry in with it to stop it sloshing around hand give it tast Total s##t food

Don't let then awful exterior put you off! Fantastic food and lovely attentive waiting staff. Food was served at just the right pace and sizzling fillet steak fantastic, as were the melt in the mouth ribs!

I ORDERED A TAKEAWAY AND I WAS CHARGED 25 PERCENT MORE THAN UNDER THE PREVIOUS OWNERSHIP, I WAS TOLD THIS IS DUE TO COVID-19 THEY HAD TO RAISE THEIR PRICES (PREVIOUSLY THERE WAS A 10% DISCOUNT FOR A TAKEAWAY) AND IT WAS ON THE INTERNET, CLEARLY LYING AS THEY WERE CAUGHT OUT AS I CAN'T FIND THIS PRICE RISE ANYWHERE ONLINE SO THEY ARE JUST RIPPING LOYAL CUSTOMERS OFF. ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL, I WON'T BE GOING BACK. My wife, friends and I have eaten here many many times over the past 12 years, Ray and his team produce some of the best cantonese food you will ever taste, in my opinion nothing compares to it in Swansea for this type of cuisine. It is worth mentioning the service is exceptionally good. Highly recommended.

Disgusting food. Meats were nothing but gristle and were unrecognisable. Avoid at all costs.

Food was average lacking in taste. Honey roast spare ribs really fatty. However, staff were very friendly and helpful. Doubtful, I will eat here again.

Excellent food the egg fried rice is so fresh and curry so tasty ribs fall off the bone. Best food ever and really clean and pleasant staff. I will be back I recomend here 100%

Well where to start really booked a table for 8 people took over 30 mins just to get drinks the waitress who served us stunk of bo couldn't understand what drinks we wanted so had to call for help other guy came over asked for...

We had lovely food at The Wild Swan tonight but the waitress was absolutely buzzing of B O. In the end, I had to take my children to see the fish everytime she brought something over or cleared the table. My son also had a headache, it was that bad! Shame cause the food was nice but this is an absolute turn off, we definitely won't be back!

Decor was really dated but the service was excellent and the food was superb. Had prawn toast starter followed by 1 beef dish, 1 chicken dish, crispy seaweed,rice and noodles. Really tasty and the price very reasonable, approx £20 per person inc drinks. Very glad...
