Booked a belated Mother’s Day present for my mum, afternoon tea for two. Was lovely and food was great! Service was good, great job chef Tony😊👍🏻

Visited with friends for afternoon tea, there were 8 of us, I must say it was all very well organised and the afternoon tea was lovely and well worth the money, the ladies who served us were, Mandy, Amy and Gilly, they all gave us excellent service always asking us how our food was and filling up the teapots regularly , well done ladies. Would highly recommend a visit

My favourite go to is Liver&Bacon, normally when I order this I get a plate of vegetables, when I was last here, my partner also ordered liver&bacon but we had to share the 1 plate of vegetables, please please serve separate dishes of vegetables especially when you are paying for it twice Xx

Beautiful afternoon tea at the whitmore arms today. Ben was welcoming and Mandy couldn’t do more for us. Sandwiches and cakes were lovely, and we had enough to box and bring home too. Highly recommend and will be returning

Very good food and a lovely atmosphere

The food the service , everything was outstanding. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, the Tiramisu was delicious and not bitter at all cannot fault the evening. Mandy who brought us our food etc was genuinely lovely attentive and very friendly such a lovely lady. Will definitely be back very soon!

Just had the best prawn linguine ever! We were booked into the sister restaurant for Valentine’s Day. However, due to electrical problems, our booking was moved 10 miles away. This turned out to be a fabulous experience and we will definitely be back.

This is now one of our favourite pubs! The food was amazing, quality impeccable and the service was lovely, friendly and prompt. We had a really lovely time and the pub has such a nice cosy atmosphere, I’m especially jealous of the little tea cups and teapots they had. Really recommend this place, so glad we stumbled upon it after our hospital trip!

A large group of us booked here to celebrate a 79th birthday, food was delicious, and the fact they got all meals out at the same time was amazing. Gluten free was catered for too! Will certainly be back here again!

My family and I just keep coming back to this lovely little pub in Orsett. Lovely food, great service & so reasonably priced. Afternoon Tea fantastic service brilliant food well presented staff were friendly was treated like royalty. Thanks to Mandy and Amy for giving us a lovely afternoon they are two stars that kept looking after us with plenty of tea and coffee well worth the money . Thank you definitely would recommend .

Had an evening meal here with my other half. The steak and kidney suet pudding was delicious but the vegetables were tepid at best. The room was cold and our meals took ages to arrive - the elderly couple next to us were about to walk out. We had a Sunday lunch another time and it was one of the best we'd had anywhere - highly recommended. Service was quick and the pub was busy.

As always amazing food and a great service ! Great staff always welcoming nothing too much trouble very attentitive ! Irish coffees are a dream second to none and as I now found out are all down to the lovely Lisa’s own recipe ! Great visit will be back again asap !

Having just returned from Afternoon Tea I feel compelled to write a review about our experience. Our table was ready and we were served promptly taking the option of Prosecco as this was a Christmas treat from my friend. However this is as good as it gets! The very dainty finger sandwiches were filled with very thick chunky beef slices and ham. My friends beef sandwich was inedible and the white bread used for the ham was soggy and flat. We spoke to the waitress and she came over and took the sandwiches away and returned after about ten minutes with a fresh platter. This time there was a choice of four, ham, cheese, chicken and prawn. Although this was a slight improvement, the white bread used was the same and still soggy and compressed. The cakes were very disappointing, a selection of very small, bite sized cakes which were clearly only recently defrosted. The three tier cake stand was topped with three small scones, just one each. The three pots of Rodda’s cream and jam were perhaps the one highlight of this pathetic excuse for an afternoon tea. Sadly most of the cream was wasted as the scones were so small! Now we come to paying the bill. When we had spoken to the waitress initially, she had said £5 would be deducted for the sandwiches which we thought was £5 off each meal. However when the bill arrived only £5 from the total bill had been deducted. We questioned this with the waitress but were told that the lady who made the tea had gone and she was unable to contact her. We then spoke to another member of staff who was very polite and apologetic, but said that unfortunately the owner was not willing to do anything more. So we had no option but to pay up, £29 each minus £5 divided by 3, and left feeling ever so slightly mugged! Needless to say, we will not be returning and hope that others, having read this revue, will perhaps think twice before booking!

I was served by Stacey and Ben Davis. Very helpful with gluten allergy and the menu is clearly labelled. The dishes were fab. A proper pub.

Went with friends last Friday evening. Really nice pub, good atmosphere and very attentive staff. I wasn't too impressed with my own meal. Chunky chips in my opinion were undercooked (I prefer them crispy and golden in colour), chicken portion quite small. On the other hand, my husband's fish and chips looked lovely and he said he enjoyed it.

One of the finest roast dinners I’ve ever had. Excellent quality meat, super crispy roast potatoes, flavourful Yorkshire pudding, beautifully sweet roasted veg and gravy to die for. To cap it all off a wonderful venue

Nipped in on the way to a fireworks show with my nephews and was in the bar side (not restaurant) which as tiny so nowhere to sit and had to keep moving out the way of anyone walking through. Staff seemed OK but not in that side most of the time and when people said bye to them (locals and us) they either didn't hear or ignored us. It was nice enough but seems like more of a locals place.

Service of drinks was a little slow but it was busy, Roast was lovely potatoes were a little hard on outside. Side vegetables were disappointing seemed like frozen mix vegetables that were microwaved, they were different on previous visit.

Food was great but service was shocking. Waited ages for drinks; food didn't arrive together & accompanyments even later. Cocktails are awful - must be bottled or on draft as taste nothing like they should. Ordered different drinks and were served an alternative as they'd run out! No discussion or option to change choice. Very disappointing as was one of the best pubs locally.

We visited The Whitmore Arms on Saturday and I can’t recommend it enough. Food was absolutely amazing, delicious homemade food which you don’t get in many pubs these days. The staff were fantastic, made us feel at home, nothing was too much for them. My son wanted to help clear the glasses off our table, the staff made him feel like a little helper and he was extra pleased with the sweets they gave him. We arrived at 5 and stayed till gone 9, we weren’t rushed or made to feel we needed to leave which makes a change from most places. The atmosphere was lovely, it was full with lots of families who looked like they were enjoying it as much as we were. So if you’re looking for a lovely pub with top notch food and amazing staff, this is your place. Thank you Whitmore Arms we will be back soon!

Good beer, fairly quiet but the good weather had most sitting outside.

It's sad that a lovely pub has fallen. Saturday night pub and restaurant half full. Service very slow. I had a steak it was ok the mushrooms must have been grilled 6 times. Sad young staff had to be reminded a lot.

This is our local and we’ve always loved it. Food is tasty and the Specials menu changes weekly which gives for really good food options- this can’t be knocked. It is a shame however that the pub closes so early! And I mean very early....

Highly recommend Liver & Bacon, unfortunately we ordered wings to start (something we have done previously) and we were served 2 chicken wings and that was £7. I will stick to just mains in the future. Whitemore is still a little charm.

Turned up without a reservation (had forgotten it was a Sunday afternoon) but the staff managed to accommodate us. It was very busy but food was still served in very good time and was faultless. Staff were all very pleasant, would definitely recommend.

Shocking poor choice of non alcoholic drinks. I requested a fizzy orange, wasn’t particular about the brand. All they could offer was an orange with lemonade. Bottled Coke was available but that was about all. Not great for the designated driver.

A good feel to the venue for lunchtime dining. The room was comfortable and though busy we didn't feel overcrowded.
