Had light lunch and a few drink in Whites yesterday with a friend. The staff were excellent especially Dylan and the waiter working along side her. Very helpful and really friendly. The food was good- will go for main course next time and the ambience was nice even though it was a quiet Wednesday afternoon. Went next door to the Guinness bar which serves Guinness cocktails. Had an excellent glass of the black stuff served by a really polite smiling Simona. Will definitely be back in fact have already booked for next week! Thank you again to all staff. Def a place to visit on your next trip to Belfast

I only went for a guinness as i was told at the free tour that they serve the best guinness in the world. I'll have to try more to confirm! But I really enjoyed my drink. 🍀 But finally I also had the whites burger. I had to wait for a long time but it was worth the time. 😊 Stuff was very attentive. All the time checking if I wanted anything else. Live music was amazing. 😍 Very friendly people and atmosphere. Ohh, and someone asked for a guinness and left, so instead of throwing it away I was offered for free 🙌🏾

My favourite bar in Belfast ruined by terrible bar staff. It must be a lack of training or new staff and can be fixed but wearing a queen's university hoody while working behind the middle bar and having such terrible behaviour reflects poorly on the bar and the university.

Loved it! We've been every day of our five day holiday. There's a real fire, live music, and the food is superb! We had the Irish stew, sausage and mash, and the turkey and ham dinner. Everything was spot on, and good sized portions. The bar staff are friendly, and quickly learn what you're drinking, which helps avoid queuing. It's a small space, and you have to have eyes of a rat to spot someone leaving so you can grab their table, if you're staying to eat. It's a really good ambience and totally enjoyable.

I was on a return visit to Belfast and wanted to experience one of the Belfast entry pubs, so decided to try Whites. It was 2.55pm and I asked the purple haired bar maid if we could order food. She told me they didn't do food orders after 4pm. I said ok, but showed her my watch and said it was nearly 3pm. She stumbled at that and then fobbed me off and said the table I was sitting on was reserved for other people at 5pm. Told me because of that reservation I couldn't order food. Complete nonsense and it made no sense. So we left and went to another Belfast pub and had a brilliant night. However, that experience of poor customer service made me post this poor review. So I would not recommend a visit to Whites as it is definitely not a true reflection of Belfast hospitality.

We had our Christmas Dinner at whites this evening and it was nothing short of a joke. Seated at a tiny table 3 feet from the bar on the busiest day of the year booking despite ordering well over a month in advance. This obviosuly lead to people constantly banging into us while trying to eat with drunkards disturbing us. We arrived and they had no idea of our booking, no idea of what we ordered and the waitress (who was phenomenal on the night) had to pick up the slack. Management clearly messed up here. Our table was thrown together at 630 when we sat down, and didn't get our starters for 45 minutes, at this point we contemplated leaving, and the mains coming out at 830. The food being the only thing that saved the evening so credit to the chefs. Nothing on the bill was comped, no apology given. If you are planning a christmas dinner I would strongly advise against whites. (Again credit to the server, she was ran off her feet making the most out of a bad situation)

Went on a recommendation, wish we hadn't. Ordered 2 mains - Chicken pie and Fish n chips. Very tiny pieces of chicken in a cream sauce with 2 squares of puff pastry on top, cold veg, chips. Other meal very heavily battered (raw inside, inedible ) fish, chips, teaspoon of mushy peas, salad, (which fish was sat on, therefore hot and limp). No one cleared plates away, even though they were constantly walking past!! Went to bar (8.50pm) to order a dessert (previously waitress had recommended some) only to be told "kitchen closed" at 8.55pm. Only kitchen porter left. Explained all to waitress who said she'd mention our concerns, no further contact, so we left, never to return. Not a good experience

Disappointing. So sad I spent my first and only evening in Belfast here. Read the review of the place before we got in and I was hyped. First we had to wait for almost 30 minutes before got to table since they only had ‘1’ staff to take care of the whole place (old pub part), probably 30 guests in there. That poor guy was running around like crazy but still had a smile on his face (bravo to that!). Food wise, at first it looks great but they were bland. At the end we ordered toffee pudding and hoping it would help justify our meal. But nah. The pudding is dense. Toffee sauce tasted like it was from a store bought bottle. The ice cream was icy. Even the place was packed (old pub part) but the atmosphere is not there at all. It’s quiet, not an Irish pub atmosphere you would expect it to be. In summary, I really admire that only staff. The venue looked awesome. Guinness was great as always.
