We didn't stay here or have dinner. We were about midpoint for our drive from Aberdeen to the highlands and drive along Loch Ness. Small cozy pub with very friendly staff. We had the cider and they directed us to the best way to view Loch Ness

We were staying close to the restaurant when running Loch Ness marathon and we went twice for a family meal.The first time we went for a Sunday roast and it was absolutely delicious! Myself and partner are vegan so we checked if they will be able to cook something for us, we were given plenty of options in both meals and I have to say that the vegan nut roast was incredible!We really enjoyed talking to the staff too as they were super friendly and willing to talk about whisky and local beers! Including the chef who come around to talk to us about food options.I’d have liked to have more time to pop around a few more times!

Went on a Thursday night. Booked a table about 2 hours ahead for 7pm. Ordered starter of gluten free garlic bread to share and main of gluten free fish and chips and halloumi burger and chips. Food tasted lovelt and was generous portions. Local atmosphere. Total meal with 1 glass of red wine and 1 pink gin was £36. Very dog friendly. Lost a star because there was 30 minute delay between the garlic bread starter and main course. We were getting pretty hungry by the time it arrived. But otherwise fabulous as always.

We ate here on two occasions, we were staying at Wildside Highland Lodges and this came highly recommended to us. We would definitely recommend a visit here! There was a warm welcome to us...and our chocolate Labrador - Paisley! They even provided dog biscuits for her! The food was delicious and we enjoyed all our meals here. The service was friendly and staff were incredibly welcoming. There is also a log burner on, what more could you ask for! We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting locally, or staying at Wildside Highland Lodges - you will not be disappointed! Thanks again for making our visit to Scotland so welcoming.

An enjoyable spot supper. Service was good, and not rushed. Food was excellent in both preparation and presentation. Dessert was especially delicious.

Das Restaurant liegt definitiv sehr weit weg vom Schuss.Wir hatten jedoch unweit davon unser B&B und nahmen es als Notlösung gerne an. Es erwies sich als Glückstreffer. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.Zum Essen hatten wir das Lamm und Steak & Ale Pie. Beides war liebevoll angerichtet und sehr lecker.Die Desserts waren Hausgemacht und ausgezeichnet.

Stayed here for only one night-sadly but loved every minute of our stay! Traditional Highland hunting lodge, lots of of antlers on the walls, tartan carpets and throws on the beds, little bunches of heather on the tables at breakfast-lovely little Scottish touches, which made this hotel really special. Wonderfully helpful and friendly staff, great food-had our evening meal there as it’s the only place for miles around but the Scottish salmon didn’t disappoint. Full Scottish breakfast in the morning-which was delicious! Comfortable en-suite rooms with gorgeous views of the hills and heather-clad landscape dotted with sheep and highland cattle. Absolutely magical. Definitely hope to return as its location makes for a great base in which to explore the stunning Highlands.

We were staying in a cottage near this restaurant and went in on our way home on a Sunday evening. The place was very busy and we hadn’t booked. They managed to fit us in and thank goodness they did. My son and I had the Sunday roast which was plentiful and husband had fish and chips which looked good. The staff were very friendly and it was a pleasure to eat there. We went back later in the week and again food was great. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Found this wee gem next to where we were renting for a week. We ate here on 3 evenings with our 3 dogs. Delicious food and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Burger was particularly delicious. Thank you.

Excellent food at an excellent price in an excellent location served by excellent staff. Very pleasant surprise. Best to reserve a table. We had Sunday Roast and Nut roast and a couple of extra beef slices for the dog ;).... and cheesecake (to die for)

We have now been back to the bar at the Whitebridge Hotel on no less than 6 occassions, and the drink and food has been fantastic everytime, and I'm a bit of a fussy eater, but they accomodated us with no issues, and on the last three visits I had a Rib Eye Steak that was tastier than any steak you will find anywhere, they really know how to raise Beef and of course cook it in that location.

Das Restaurant ist sehr gemütlich und hat eine praktische Grösse. Das Lokal war voll und trotzdem haben wir unser Essen in angemessener Zeit erhalten. Das Essen kam sehr ansprechend daher und die grösse der Portion war ideal. Das Essen an sich war sehr sehr sehr lecker und der Preis war aus meiner Sicht mit umgerechnet 15 CHF billig. Deshalb empfehle ich jedem dieses Lokal.

Wunderbares Ambiente, sehr feines Essen, nette Bedienung. Tolles Kindermenu, Chicken Nuggets selber gemacht, Lamm Steak mit Kartoffelpuree, sehr zu empfehlen. Die Burgerauswahl, toll!

Wir kehrten zweimal ein und waren durchwegs sehr zufrieden. Aufgestelltes, motiviertes Team, schneller Service und ausgezeichnete einheimische Gerichte zu moderaten Preisen. Offensichtlich verkehren auch viele Einheimische im Lokal, was immer ein gutes Zeichen ist.

Sehr gutes Essen in heimeliger Pub Atmoshpäre, Einheimische und Gäste geniessen dort den Feierabend.

Nous avons pu obtenir une table au dernier moment, en prenant possession de notre chambre d'hôtel. Serveuse très sympathique, ambiance très conviviale, bonne carte avec de bons plats de la région, ainsi que de la très bonne bière du coin. Je recommande vivement la combinaison hôtel + dîner dans cet établissement !

We were staying in a self catering cottage in Foyers and first decided to visit for lunch as it was a recommended walk of about 3 miles. We enjoyed the food so much that we returned for dinner at the end of the week. We enjoyed all the dishes we chose - soup, salmon pate, burger, fish and chips and the chicken curry. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a good atmosphere in the bar. You will probably need to book in the evening.

Please don't let the title put you off or think this is a bad review because it isn't. We went here several times while staying at the lodges just a short walk away, don't recommend them, but that's for another review.

My wife and I dined here a couple of times whilst staying next door at Wildeside Lodges. The hotel/pub welcomes dogs and indeed the dog got a biscuit before we got our drinks. The menu selection was good considering that this hotel is really in the middle of nowhere. We asked staff about dinner for the friday night later in the week and they advised us to book now. On the Friday night we went for dinner the pub/ restaurant was full and they were actually turning persons away. The meal itself cannot be faulted, the service was excellent. Be aware that there are a large no of B & B`s in this area and the staff advised us that all the guests tend to come to the hotel for meals/ drinks. If you are in this area I recommend stopping at this hotel for a drink or meal

Had 2 meals here whilst staying in lodge a short walk away . Friendly staff and excellent food .Good choice on menu including chicken breast stuffed with haggis and haggis burgers.2 smallish rooms and both nights we didn't have alot choice of tables . Would recommend booking as we weren't there at weekend !

While this hotel has beautiful character and rooms are very nice, the food and bar proved to be absolutely delightful.

Un établissement typique à la déco sympa ! On y mange bien avec des produits simples mais frais et de qualité ! Un super accueil , une super chambre, bref on a été très bien reçus ! Ils acceptent les animaux et sont même avenants envers eux , merci nous reviendrons ! Très bon rapport qualité prix

We were recommended this venue which has changed hands since our last visit to the area. We popped in for a recce in the morning and booked the evening while there.

The restaurant and bar at this hotel were excellent. The staff were very welcoming, the food excellent and good value. We had a lovely family meal and everyone, including the children, enjoyed it. There was a really pleasant atmosphere with some great music playing. Well worth a stop.

This hotel is in a remote location but it appears to be a very busy pub and restaurant with locals and tourists.

We booked a table for dinner the first night of our honeymoon, we were staying at the nearby Wildside lodges. Only a five minute walk up the road to the hotel so very handy. Very friendly staff, great service and amazing food! Couldn’t fault it. We then booked again for our last night and yet again amazing food and service! We will definitely return, highly recommend!

Had a good meal but it was surpassed by the best brownie pudding in Scotland. Great service and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back.

We visited here for a meal while staying locally (there is very little in the area so choices are limited) and had a really nice meal for an okay price. The staff were absolutely lovely and the perfect balance of attentive yet not intrusive. There was ample parking, and it’s dog friendly as well.

When we first passed through the hamlet of Whitebridge in 2017, we thought that the hotel might be closed. It certainly had that appearance. However nowadays nothing could be further from the truth.

I went to Whitebridge Hotel with my husband, elderly mother and 2 kids for Dinner on Christmas Day. Lesley and team were very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent and very good value for money. The portions were very generous and my 15 year old son described his plate of turkey and trimmings as “a dream come true”! Would highly recommend to others and we hope to return in the future.

The fare is essentially pub grub and the servings are certainly generous! Service was speedy and friendly even for our large party. The restaurant and bar are wood panelled and cosy though it would have been even better with the log fire lit.

We ate here this week whilst staying at wildside lodges, the food was outstanding and the staff are amazing couldn't do enough for us.

If you find yourself in Fort Augustus, Inverness or the surroundings and fancy hearty pub food, than this is the place for you.

We kept going back to this hotel, for the food. What a friendly bunch .... and your four legged friends are allowed in! The menu is perfectly adequate with enough choice for average Joe and a 'daily specials' board. We spent a lazy afternoon in there the Sunday before leaving for home, drinking plenty of coffee and playing board games. Portions are very generous and you HAVE to try the steak pie. I have never had a pie with so much good quality meat in!! They couldn't do enough for us, even allowing us to order late in the evening. This Hotel is full of character. We loved it !

My family and I visited the Whitebridge hotel for dinner on three occasions whilst staying next door at Wildside. The staff were really welcoming and friendly, they couldn’t do enough for you. The atmosphere was great. The food was delicious, especially the Sunday roast. We ended up staying many hours longer than expected on Sunday, as we had such a nice, relaxed time in there. I definitely recommend this place. If you’re in the area, Whitebridge, Fort Augustus, Foyers etc, make a trip to the Whitebridge hotel.

We ate in here twice whilst staying in the nearby Wildside lodges. Excellent meals and service on both visits. Nice bar area with wood burner which made it cosy. Dog friendly as well which was a bonus for out Cavalaier King Charles.

Located just next to our holiday lodge park, went for a couple of evening meals, having specials one night and steak pie and fish and chips from standard menu - good wholesome food, decent portions and fast and freindly service all washed down with the local breweries real ale. Fairly remote, but certainly recommended

Staying near by and after a long walk popped in to have a look and a pint. What a friendly and welcoming pub (including the locals) with a lovely selection of drinks. One quite visit turned into a few drinks over 3 days and a lovely Sunday meal. The dogs even had a lovely Nessie bowl to drink out of and received free biscuits. Log fire was warming after all our walks too.

We are traveling through Scotland and found this gem of a place where I finally had the chance to sample gluten free battered local fish and chips with mushy peas. The meal was very generous and the batter crispy and light. The best meal so far in Scotland! If you are looking for a good variety of gluten free options you couldn’t ask for much more. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

Das einzige Hotel / Restaurant / Bar in der Ortschaft. Somit treffen hier alle aufeinander. Die Geburtstagsfeier der Einheimischen findet praktisch am selben Tisch statt daher kann es auch etwas lauter werden. Wir haben es aber sehr genossen. Das Essen ist hervorragend.

We stayed at the Wildside Lodges and one night walked up to Whitebridge Hotel for a meal, it’s dog friendly so could take ours with us. Bowl of water and biscuit for the fluffy ones!

Food was excellent the service was great friendly atmosphere very welcoming. Menu had special on weekends with some great standard Scottish fare. A very local pub atmosphere where friend gather daily.

Lovely places to stop for food. Staff so welcoming to us and the dogs. Great menu selection. Food was promptly served and very tasty. Great portion sizes and lots of choices for all including the veggies. Friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Found this place by accident after arriving locally to stay elsewhere in Loch Ness. Was concerned by the 2star hotel rating and didn’t hold out too much hope for the but was pleasantly surprised. Our waitress Tina was welcoming, chatty and very friendly. She was easy to talk to, offered quick table service for both drinks and food and was prompt to check on us. Food was lovely with amazing puddings. The building is pretty and conversations with the new owners (of 6-7 weeks) and Tina they have huge plans for the business. We had a sneak peek of the entrance hall and residents lounge as were gutted we were not staying there ourselves. We look forward to returning in the future and seeing the finished product.

Dans un endroit aussi isolé, la surprise est de trouver un hôtel et un pub qui permet de se restaurer sans repartir jusqu'à Fort Augustus. Cependant la qualité de la nourriture est assez typiquement "British" pour des papilles françaises: beaucoup de frites,plats assez pauvres gustativement. Service sympa cependant.

We had no idea what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised with this place. The food was tasty, everything was sourced locally. The staff was so incredibly nice and accommodating for our family of 9 people. I highly recommend this place!

We were always made to feel welcome when we went as we were staying in lodges 5mins away. The staff were excellent and the food hit the spot. Helped make our holiday perfect.

We had dinner one night while staying at the wildside lodges, the food was average pub grub but overall a very enjoyable experience, locals were very welcoming and friendly and the service was great.

Welcoming local that is dog friendly offering good real ales and good wholesome no frills food. Popular with shooters and gamekeepers. Some rather loud Geordies, with excess alcohol were intent on facing up to mild mannered nice locals, but the latter handled them perfectly. I was ready to dart out the door before tables and chairs went flying, but luckily the locals avoided that.

This is obviously a very popular place with the locals. They had had a celebration for owners who were leaving the night before, so I don't think we saw them at their best.

Thank you to the whitebridge hotel for such warm and friendly service. You didn't know it but with our other halves we were returning to our childhood holidays of the 1970s. It was fantastic that everything was exactly as we remembered except this time the food was amazing and we wiped you out with an amazing gin hamper which you handed over with a smile. Fantastic night and fantastic pub.

We stopped at wildside just a 2 min walk from here and out of the 7 nights we came here 3 times for our evening meal. 2 adults and one child our bill normally came in between £40-£50 for 3 meals and a number of drinks. All the food was lovely and home cooked. We tried a number of meals and we all enjoyed them. Lovely traditional pub with a good choice of ales, larger etc pool table and a big log burner. Next time I think we will just come here every night instead of cooking!

We walked to the Whitebridge Inn from Foyers with our two dogs. Very enjoyable walk and we were very pleased to find such a great dog friendly pub / hotel at the end of our walk :-) The barman was very friendly and provided us with lots of information on the area. They had a good selection of real ales and a welcoming log burning stove blasting out the heat on a cold day. Although we didn't eat, the food looked very tasty and it was busy with local diners, which is always a good sign. Don't walk / drive past if you are in the area. Pop in for some food / drink. You won't regret it :-)

Visited twice in the week , owners and staff very welcoming and food excellent and good value. Both steak and ale pie one night. my wife had steak and chips steak was melt in your mouth and I had fish and chip both of which were lovely.definately recommend this place to anyone passing by.

My wife and I had dinner and lunch on seperate days. We brought our dogs in when we had lunch as the place was dog friendly.

Whilst staying at the Woodside Highland Lodges we paid a couple of visits to the Whitebridge Hotel. The food was very good and the bar staff and locals very friendly. Dog friendly, we enjoyed the food and company in front of a wood burner

We were staying at the nearby Wildlife Lodges and popped in for a bar supper. Garlic mushrooms were nice, Chicken...

Amazing food. Quiet high standard too. The Chicken with haggis filling looked Yum but the steak & ale pie oh...

Had dinner here while staying at Wildside Lodges which are only a short walk away. The hotel bar is not very large and like an old public bar. However the service was quick, good and friendly with good food.

The Whitebridge Hotel does not look a million dollars from the outside but once inside the welcome is warm and...

It's a bit one the poor side. Not very well decorated. Food is OK. Kitchen is closing at 8pm. Nice people but it does not give you very much a Scottish feeling

After reading some good reviews we ventured here on our first night in the area.

Very friendly pub, dog friendly and the food is both good value and very tasty. The chilli and fish and chips are particularly good. Also. Dry handy if you are staying at the Wildside Lodges.

Good old fashioned pub with good meals and selection of drinks all sensibly priced , friendly and polite staff. A must after a hard day's adventuring in the locality

Meal was okay, atmoshere was fine. We ordered 3 different things to eat, hamburger and haggis thing were fine but salmon was over cooked. Did miss veggies, there were only a few sprinkled on the plate. Price was fine.

Stopped in for dinner. Childrens burger was great, chilli was lovely, haggis burger was ok. Was told there would be a wait which was honest and we did appreciate the warning, but it was 2hours (slightly longer than expected!) it's in a beautiful/remote location so had no option but to wait. The beer was the saving grace though! Hopefully if business booms more people can be employed in the kitchen to speed things up.

Visited 4 times in a week with my family whilst staying at Wildside Highland Lodges. Plenty of choice of drinks and a good selection on the menu. Staff very pleasant.

My husband and I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere here. The road to get to the restaurant was a beautiful drive, too.

We were staying down the road at the lodges. It was our Wedding anniversary and my husband had rung them in advance and arranged a surprise meal. They had set out a table in the restaurant instead of us having to eat in the bar area. Great welcome, very helpful and delicious food!

food took almost an hour to serve and was instant mash in not very nice eating area,when asked about the slow food service we were told it was because the meal we chose from the standard menu takes the longest to cook... chicken ?

We stayed here as it was listed in the Good Beer Guide and were not disappointed as there were three cask beers on offer. I chose venison steak from the menu and had a generous portion which was very nice. The service was excellent, and we were very pleased with our choice of venue.

The title says it all.The food is a credit to the head chef and the hotel.My favourite is the breakfast! On an evening the Steak & Ale pie is delicious.

If you like traditional rustic then this is the place for you. We came across the Whitebridge Hotel Restaurant by chance on our way back from Aviemore to Fort Augustus on the B862 and what a gem. Friendly service, real ales and amazing food, freshly cooked to order so we did have to wait but well worth it. This has the feel of a 'locals' pub rather than a restaurant and has a certain charm. We visited on our last evening in the area and so pleased that we found this place, a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend the evening.

The atmosphere was non existent apart from a large party of locals who had monopolized the lounge area. It was scarcely busy with 8 people ordering food and 40 minutes later, there was none!!

If you want plush seats and fancy decor this is not for you, but if you value good food and a genuinely friendly atmosphere you should pay a visit.Very much a locals pub but very friendly to visitors and the food was excellent.Amazing selection of gluten free optionsIf you are in the area don't drive past, stop and enjoy.

Was staying at lodges and came up here for dinner was still there at closing time had a really good night,

After last review was a little wary but staying local we did not have much choice. Not that it mattered as after both meals we are happy campers Portions excellent, quality great! Beer also very nice which helps lol. Dog is fast asleep in front of fire and we are fit to burst. Several more days to go in area and no doubt be back!

We returned after 2 years to stay at Wildside next to Whitebridge. We were really looking forward to visiting this lovely pub after so many great visits previously. Unfortunately the food was no way near as good as our previous stay. We ate here 3 times in our week stay. The soup was delicious I must say but anything else was average (burgers not very nice!) Staff not as chatty this time either. Still a great wee place but we were left disappointed at the food...
