Great place. Great hospitality. Good food. Traditional country pub with traditional hospitality and food. A great place to pop in for a little drink and some fab food.

Decided to have Christmas family meal early, stay local. The pub had all the safety features as required. The lunch menu had good choices for starters and mains. The service was polite and friendly, with owner coming to have a chat as well. No room for dessert too full. Well worth the effort nice to enjoy a meal that someone else cooked.

My partner and I had a meal on Saturday night.The starters of garlic mushrooms was very good.We then both had salmon for our main course,this again was good.The protection from Covid 19 was outstanding.The staff service was outstanding.My partner lost one of her earrings,we returned the next day at about 10.30 am and was let in to see if the missing earring was underneath our table.It was and my partner was overjoyed at finding it.Our thanks to the magnificent team at the White Heart for their food and first class service.

We stayed near The White Hart in Llangbi and had lunch and dinner here. Very warm welcome by the landlord, Khaled, and great food. We would definitely recommend a visit, especially supporting local businesses in the current climate.

We had the most amazing roast dinner. Generous portions and all homemade. The gravy was to die for. Highly recommended and at a grear price too!!

Booked a table here for five - outside , of course - large marquee area around the back , but, fortunately a warm evening. It was busy and the car park was quite full, but, everything really well organised. One way system into the bar at the side clearly marked out and bar area screened off to protect both staff and customers. Staff are cheerful and helpful- Beci was excellent - great service and landlord came around to check all was well after our meals arrived. Food was good although somewhat bemused to have cod, chips and carrots ! Makes a change from peas though ! Chips were really good, but, the belly pork was outstanding - compliments to the chef ! Good presentation and portion size - it’s been some time since I’ve visited this country pub - will definitely return and recommend it ! A hard working pub deserving recognition in tough times - diolch yn fawr iawn !

A large group of us visited for a meal in February. The team were very accommodating and the food was delicious and all served in good time (we pre-ordered). The menu is very varied and offers something for everyone.

Overall a good experience. Food was generally of good quality and enjoyed by all. Service was friendly and surroundings pleasant but not outstanding. Pricing was reasonable for the quality of food. Worth a visit if in the area.

Really enjoyed our visit. It's a lovely country pub and we received a great welcome and service throughout. The food (and wine) was high quality including the veggie meal.

Despite being very short staffed which resulted in slightly slower service than expected the food and service was excellent. 7 of us had different meals which were all good. Children's meals were too big but would have been ok for much older children.Well done for good service in the circumstances.

We visited the White Hart for Sunday lunch with friends between Christmas and New Year and were impressed by the welcome we received and quality of the service, food and drink. On a cold morning the bar was inviting and warm and that bar staff very friendly and efficient. We were shown to our table quickly. The party of five included a fussy teenager and two vegetarians and we were all pleased with the choices offered. Between us we tried most of the starters and mains and we were very happy with quality of our meals, generous portion sizes, the vegetables and gravy - not to mention the splendid Yorkshire puddings! We were all full after the mains so opted for coffee to finish. Throughout the meal staff, including the landlord, checked that we were happy (we were) and drinks were served quickly. We weren’t rushed through the meal and had plenty of time to catch up with our friends. We had a lovely time, the atmosphere was family friendly, with other tables celebrating a birthday (we all joined in the singing). If we lived closer we would certainly become regulars.

What a charming gem of a place, Khaled so very welcoming and such a happy gentleman with pleasant staff. We had the Sunday lunch with a good choice of courses, which was absolutely delicious, fresh, homemade and plentiful. Also accommodating for vegetarians.Cannot recommend The White Hart enough and will most definitely return.

Well another birthday lunch, which happened to fall on a Sunday. The choices were typical Sunday fare, several starters,soup,pate, pawn cocktail to name a few. Mains were the normal meats and veggie option. Desserts were varied bread and butter pudding to ice cream. Overall a very peasant meal with good service.

Llangibi is a small place but what a delight their local pub is. The food looked amazing and tasted as good. The menu was extensive and vegetarians also have a huge choice which you rarely see. I chose the pork and I'd definitely get it again but then I'd also try most of their menu. Posh restaurant in a pub posh food but excellent prices.. What more could you want!!!We are returning later this week because why go elsewhere when we are staying so close.

Stopped there “accidentally “ once for a steak and a lamb shank....result of that we went back for Sunday lunch.Staff were lovely, service was very prompt.Cant wait to go back:)

I’d heard good things about the White Hart, so we decided to visit the place and make up our own minds.We booked Sunday lunch for 1.30, but it was so nice that we decided to sit in the beer garden for a short while longer. Asked the barmaid if we this would be ok, and she was fine with it. I get the feeling that this place is very easy going - which is our kind of place. When we did sit in the restaurant and order, the service was efficient and the staff very pleasant. I ordered the lamb and my partner ordered the pork dinner, both of which were lovely and there was nothing left on either of out plates. My partner didn’t fancy a dessert as she was full from the dinner, but I decided to try the apple and blackberry tart which was nothing short of sublime. The pastry was so delicate, that the spoon just glided through it and the filling utterly delicious. We then sat back outside the place for a while with a couple of drinks, which just rounded off a perfect afternoon.The White Hart is most definitely my kind of place and I cant wait to return.

As soon as we walked in we had a warm welcome fromthe young barman. The owner then entered and engaged in conversation with us , and my husband who is disabled mentioned his constant pain in his back and the owner offered cushions to make him more comfortable. Anyhow the meal was amazing we had a meat platter to share for a starter. the flavours were fantastic. For the main I had chicken in a white wine sauce and mushrooms, really moist chicken. And OMG the lamb my husband had was out of this world,superb quality of meat and a very generous serving. I could not manage to eat my main the owner was only to pleased to provide a doggy bag so that I could take the chicken back for our cats. I cannot say enough about our dining experience, apart from we will be back.

Can’t believe the latest review! Staff and management always approachable and have always had fantastic meals at the white hart. I think sometimes people have nothing better to do than to bring a excellent, hard working business down. Keep up the hard work!!

If you are going to manage a business you need to understand that customers will have complaints, issues or grievances from time to time, which need to be dealt with appropriately. We recently visited this establishment for a meal and subsequently had an issue with the food and the service. The manager point black refused to handle the matter or address our concerns, leaving it to be handled by an inexperienced young staff member.

I see the keyboard warriors are out again! Why if people are dissatisfied dont they it with management who are excellent and approachable rather than go home and write cowardly comments from their laptops. I had a great lunch at great value which is rare these days. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARR DOING!

Recently attended a family meal here and was completely put off by the levels of service received. One party members meal failed to arrive at the same time as others and after pointing this out to the staff several times when it finally did it was cold and inedible. Found staff members to be rude and dismissive. Asked to speak to manager and was told he was too busy.

Had a disgusting Sunday lunch with my family - meat was chewy and overdone and veggies were over cooked and mushy. When we complained a young boy working there was very rude and accused us of lying. He got very personal about my appearance and when we asked to speak to the manager, he said he was the manager! Enough said.

Visited with friends for a birthday meal. As regulars at the White Heart for Sunday lunch and evening meals I can honestly say that we have never had a meal that was less than 100%. Tonight was no different. Staff are friendly and very helpful and the food is just stunning. Portions are more than generous. The atmosphere is friendly and what you would expect from a cosy country pub. Khaled is always on hand for a chat and will always welcome you. If you try this restaurant I guarantee it will become one of your favourites!!

First Wales pub stop as we cycle from Heathrow to Wales. Fabulous service wonderful food absolutely the best welcoming. Clean and efficient.

A typical pub, exactly as expected in terms of deco and layout. We had the chicken breast with mash in a mushroom sauce. It was a little disappointing given the reviews below. The chicken breast was not of good quality and it was drowned in sauce (preferable in a jug), and the mash was bog standard, you could tell it had no cheese in, no milk, no butter. The meal was eatable but nothing you couldn't make at home, or make at home better.

Really disappointed with our Sunday lunch. Not the most attractive plate of food which could have been offset if the food had been good. Less than average meal which little taste and a strange selection of mushy vegetables. .

So good that we went twice in a week. Mussels with cream as a starter; mains of lamb chops. Good value.

We went for a meal to The White Heart having randomly picked a evening meal out on the weekend. I'm so glad we did so because the atmosphere,welcome and our meal was second to none.we will be visiting again soon.

Traveled from Coventry today to meet up in Usk with friends for lunch and stublmbled upon The White Hart Pub. What an amazing find. Could not have been made more welcome by the owner Mr Shalaby. Brilliant host. Food was amazing. Service was excellent fast and friendly. Great value for money and nothing was to much trouble. If you're in the area and looking for good food and a friendly welcome then this is the place to go. It's our new go to place for meeting out friend who live out on the Welsh coast. Made a great day out even better.

Stayed in a spa hotel near by and decided to have a meal at the white Hart village inn. From the minute we walked in the staff were very friendly and welcoming! Food was amazing! Would 100% recommend and will definetly be back! Also large screen for sports! Enjoyed thourougly and throughout! Owner is so friendly and involved woth customers! Fantastic place.

Now that you no longer have to pay to get into Wales it was decided to visit The White Hart at Llangibby.What a fabulous place. We were greeted like old friends and made to feel welcome. The site itself dates back to Jane Seymours' family and is full of character. The log burning fireplace has to be seen to be appreciated.The evening flowed,orders were taken and food presented at exactly the right time.An excellent evening all round. Looking forward to later in the year so we can do Sunday lunch. Their claim of the best Yorkshire puddings ever will be tested. Cheers to Khalid and staff

Went out to dinner to The White Hart and the place was really friendly made us feel welcome,had a good menu at reasonable prices service was quick and staff very helpful food cooked really well and of good portion sizes and presented well would recommend to anybody that’s in and around the area

We booked a last minute table here when staying at the Cwrt Bleddyn. We were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and meals. Food was gorgeous. We had a lovely evening here. Thankyou for having us 😘

Visited this beautiful country pub establishment. All decorated beautifully and very seasonal, we sat on a lovely little table by the roaring fire. We started with the mussels and expected a small portion I was extremely happy when a brimming bowl of steaming mussels arrived, they were cooked perfectly and were fantastic the mains were equally as delightful. Very reasonably priced and the hospitality was incredible and we have decided to visit again to try out more of the menu - definitely somewhere to dine if you are in the area.many thanks to the very friendly staff

I read the reviews and expected a good experience. The service was somewhat slow but the main meal was good. However, the sweets were a disaster. We ordered apple tart to be presented with microwaved pastry, which was obviously then soft, and a small amount of custard which had obviously come from a tin and was likewise microwaved. In addition no one could find any real apple. The bread and butter pudding was a very small portion, again microwaved and the only thing to suggest it was bread and butter pudding in the first place was the presence of a couple of sultanas. At £5.90 a desert the quality was very poor. All this said, the place has a lot of character and the surroundings were very pleasant. There was even someone playing the piano as you dined. Overall we could be tempted to go back again but would certainly not bother having deserts.

Visited here whilst staying in the area in the evening for some food. Owner behind the bar was very friendly and made the effort to make conversation which I thought was lovely. I ordered chilli and my friend ordered the trout. The food was excellent and of good quality. We ordered desserts after which were a lovely finish to the meal. Have to say feeling very full, portion sizes and quality was definitely worth the money. We will definitely visit again if we are in the area.

My fiance and i visited this establishment when staying in a hotel nearby. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff, the owner was very attentive. Food was lovely and reasonably priced, a nice traditional pub selection with good portion sizes. Did not wait long to be served or for food to come out and we visited on evening on the weekend. Would highly recommend, we will definetly be returning again.

Beautiful food in a charming setting. We went as a party of 5 for my Mum's birthday. The Sunday lunch was delicious with proper yorkshire puddings and lots of vegetables. The beef literally melted in your mouth. Nothing was too much bother for the staff and the Landlord was one of the friendliest and most welcoming people you could wish to meet. First class will definitely return.

On approch the pub was lit up nicely and looked clean and tidy.

Decided to try a Saturday menu instead of Sunday lunch. On arrival found a few other customers, as always friendly and polite staff. The menu had small but a good variety of starters, the mains dishes covered all sorts of meals, fish to chicken and then the special board had more options. After that we didn't get to desserts. It was nice to have something different.

Stayed in a hotel just up the road however we didn't want to eat there but found this place it was fabulous a very warm welcome from the staff we didn't book but we are early about 6.15pm we could not fault the food and we had to have the garlic bread with cheese and that did not disappoint and I understand that their Sunday dinner is outstanding so all in all I could not fault anything and would not hesitate to go back if we were in the area again

Staff are friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Menu had a good selection, reasonable prices, large portions. Steak pie is delicious, I ordered Hunter's Chicken and had no room left for dessert. Food presented nicely too. I can recommend it here, all cooked fresh. We enjoyed our evening here.

Myself and female accomplice visited last night admittedly rather late but still hoping for a meal. Despite having closed the kitchen down earlier they kindly agreed to knock us up some scamp/sausages chips and a nice little salad. They obviously care about there customers and saved us from having dry roast nuts for tea!

Friendly welcome, comprehensive menu and a specials board. Prompt service from a charming waitress. Food served promptly. Very tasty and well cooked. I had the grilled gammon, the chips were superb, my colleague had the lamb curry that he enjoyed as well. We both had ice cream for dessert which was also good. The bill was reasonable, what more could you want? Will we go again, of course.

Visited for evening meal with husband and daughter. Staff are very friendly and provide good table service. Good menu and lots on the special board but no mains specials for vegetarians just starters. Desserts menu looked extensive but too full to try any! Food quality was very good and the cheesy garlic bread was the best I’d had. Homemade chips would have given 5*. Food very tasty and well presented would definitely recommend!

Great welcome, starters of pate, garlic mushrooms and white bait went down really well. The roast dinner is as close to home cooked as you can get, huge Yorkshire puddings, crispy roast potatoes and parsnips, well cooked vegetables with cauliflower cheese and leek au gratin with lashings of tasty gravy. More veg was offered but we had plenty for the three of us. Staff were so welcoming and we were really pleased with the service we received and would highly recommend the White Hart so much so we can’t wait to go back and try an evening meal

Sunday lunch is the best really enjoyed it and the hospitality and all the staff are very friendly and would definitely go again and recommend it to everybody .

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful pair of meals. The mushroom and leek pancakes (vegetarian) were superb. We enjoyed a lunch so much we immediately booked dinner for later in the week and had fresh trout tonight which was perfectly cooked. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Booked late notice for a Friday evening dinner for the four of us. Interesting menu, sensibly priced. Enjoyed beef tails, chicken wings and calamari starters. Lots of space, nice ambience.

We went to this pub/restaurant last Friday, we have been before and that’s why we returned on our visit to Wales. The food is always good, the locals are always friendly and welcoming and so it was this time.

Three of us had a pleasant evening meal. Fairly traditional menu, well done and good service. Lovely old pub but a little neutrally furnished inside. Clearly popular and we enjoyed our evening there.

Visited and had a lovely Sunday lunch. The potatoes, parsnips and Yorkshire pudding were clearly homemade. Lashings of gravy (a bete noire for us - too little gravy) were supplied and extra vegetables available if we wanted. Special kids menu offered.

We had a family meal here last night for my birthday, and could not have asked for better, From the moment you walk through the door, the wonderful landlord and his fab team make you feel so welcome. The food was absolutely amazing. There were 11 of us, and we all had our meals at the same time - piping hot, really generous portions, huge choice and beautiful taste. This is a beautiful old inn with loads of character. Before we left, we had already booked for Fathers Day and the next 2 family birthdays! Can't wait to go back!

Staying in the area and decided to try dinner at the White Hart. When we arrived we had a really warm welcome from the proprietor and team. Decided to have starters (Whitebait and Mediterranean Platter) followed by Mains (both had Battered Cod - one with mashed potato and one with Jacket - both with mushy peas).

Never been here before we came down too stay at us local spa , But I wanted something different for the evening so I booked the White Hart Village Inn. The food was outer this world and their garlic bread is too die for , WE live quite a distance from away but we shall be making a return. miss L Wall

I have been meaning to visit this pub for some time and decided to go today for the first time, we were not disappointed the welcome was so friendly and the Sunday roast which you had a choice of Lamb, Beef, Chicken, Pork we had the lamb and it came with fresh carrots,new potatoes ,roast potatoes,broccoli,cauliflower cheese,leek au gratin,Yorkshire pudding and a full gravy boat oh and roast parsnips It was a proper Sunday roast.The wood burning fire added to the ambiance of the place will be returning very soon as the menu looked good with plenty of choice at last a great pub with great food.

Visited this place whilst passing by last week we were sat on a table in a empty and cold restaurant and then had to wait over 20 mins before our drinks order as I approached the bar to get our drinks we were rudely spoken to by the manager telling me he’s busy on the phone. We eventually placed our food order and then waited over 40 minutes before it arrived. The steak I ordered was tough and Luke warm my wife’s chicken was like rubber when we asked the manager to rectify the mistake we were told if we don’t like it go else where. I refused to pay for the food and was told to f..k off Never again will I ever visit this place again and I advise other customers to avoid

Having lived in Griffithstown for the last 24 years I have never visited before. However it was advertised on a local face book page. We booked for today, Mother’s Day, and although extremely busy the food was plenty full, tasty and hot, even catering for my sister in law who is vegan, although we did send the soup back as it had cream in it and had to ask for separate vegetables. This was a small oversight, which I’m sure was down to how busy they were. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will definitely return to try again on a quieter day as the menu looks good.

Would highly recommend this pub, Just visited tonight and the food was lovely and fresh, best steak i've had in a while and my partner really enjoyed the lamb shank and real mash!!! Great service and friendly staff. Also reasonably priced to. I will definitely be visiting again.

Cant believe how quickly this this place has gone down hill. I later found out Matt the chef left to run his own pub and restaurant. When I asked the owner what pub it was he became very rude about this amazing chef. Well we found out where Matt's pub is and have booked in for a family meal for all 10 members of my family at Matt and his girlfriends pub. I would not recommend anyone to this place.

We used to frequent the White Hart Many years ago (40+) so decided to try it for Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday. It did not disappoint we had a very enjoyable meal, good service excellent food and good beer what more could you want.

Wonderful like a home from home. Great beers, wines , food and service. Roaring log fire and great banter. Amazed that it is not rammed ecery day but thats OK as its a best kept secret.

Absolutely fantastic roast dinner at The White Hart yesterday and I'm pretty sure Jesus and his disciples helped out in the kitchen. I believe Jesus himself cooked the perfect slow cooked beef as it travelled down from heaven and that angels created the most amazing cheesecake I ever tasted ❤

My boyfriend and I visited for dinner. We were welcomed as soon as we walked through the door. The staff were so friendly.

A great family run pub, recently under new ownership and we had a great Sunday lunch there with a good tasty menu and was good value. Much improved since the last time we visited it.

This has the advantage of being close to the family home, and so it is easier to go here than travel, that said, I new landlord has put life back in to pub. On this occasion the bar was full and a lot of people were eating. We had the two course, three was available, starters ranged from whitebait to pate. Mains had choice of several meats, the amount and selection of vegetables was good and plenty. Sadly no desserts full. It's worth a visit, but on a Sunday better to book.

This pub has gone through various owners in recent years but the new incumbent (Cal) has got it right. Visited midweek and had a delicious meal in friendly and comfortable surroundings. Returned for a Sunday lunch which was delicious. Go and see Cal. You won't be disappointed.

Called into here after a long walk around around Llangybi Castle. Such a warm welcome from the locals, staff and the owner. Had a chat with one of the locals about Kenfig Hill, the area where we are from. The food was lovely and value for money. Definately call in again when in the area. Highly recommended.

We ate at the White Hart Village Inn whilst visiting Cwrt Bleddyn Spa. The food was fantastic and the customer service was brilliant from the bar staff to the owner chatting to customers. The pub is beautiful inside and very cosy and friendly and we will definitely be returning here :-)

Having not been here for very many years, we were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful food and warm welcome we received when we visited on Friday, so much so we booked for Sunday Lunch. The best idea ever, great food, plenty of it and piping hot. BUT, the yorkshire pudding took it to a different level, even better than my own. (I never say that).Whether you want a week night out, lunch or Sunday roast, you will not be disappointed.

Despite the short notice of booking a table on Saturday afternoon, the owner was very accommodating and squeezed us in for a booking that evening.Upon arrival we were greeted and served at the bar and shortly after shown to our table. A menu arrived a couple of minutes later and we browsed the lovely array of traditional pub food on offer. Then we sat, and sat, and sat waiting for our order to be taken only to eventually be told you need to order at the bar. Now this seems a big problem as there was nothing on the menu, no signeage and no communication that this was the fact. I would have said it was our misunderstanding but at least three other tables had the same issue that evening so the staff really need to make this clear when giving out the menus and probably bang a sticker on the front of the menu saying so also.When we did eventually order, the food arrived promptly. It was cooked to perfection and portion sizes were generous. Brie wedges and ribs were the two chosen starters, steak & ale pike and sausage/egg/chips were the mains and we both had the cookies and cream gateaux for desert. Of the six servings the plates were cleared in all cases. The food, was quite simply, superb. It again demonstrates that simple food can be good food and everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals.Inside this is a traditional country pub in a lovely setting. The staff are friendly, the service (minus the hiccup) was excellent and prices reasonable.We will 100% be going back and would recommend this to friends.

Mouthwatering menu to choose from. We had the 1/4 Duck and hubby had Salmon. Absolutely perfect. Made to feel very welcome. We were passing by travelling through from Coventry and we were happy we came across the place.
