White Cart in East Renfrewshire

It was nice and cosy, service was good. Food was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful

My family and I tried the white cart after a recommendation from a friend. I don’t think we will be going again. Ordered a starter fantastic! Hence not one star but it was just Camembert. I had the roast. It really was crap this was a £6 meal at best. Two pieces of just boiled broccoli some carrots and peas again only just boiled. The duck fat and rosemary roasties sounded delicious. Nope they were dry and hard. 100% they’re kept under a heat lamp and not fresh. The meat. I went for just pork. Two thin fatty slices in watery gravy. These are obviously kept in a tub soaking in the gravy. Yorkshire pudding dry and tasteless. Let’s not forget the tiny cube of sausage meat that came with it. Genuinely laughable. I was super disappointed. I’ve had better roasts in a weatherspoons. It did not live up to the price tag. I ate it because I don’t like to complain. The kids chicken burger okay. My partners fish and chips not great. 4.10 for a pint of coke. £5 for a glass of ginger beer and lime. We won’t be back.

Nice traditional pub offering tasty value for money sunday roasts, good pub fare and a decent range of drinks. Staff are always attentive and friendly and there is ample private parking. It also has an outdoor drinking area for the rare days the sun shines here.

This is a stereotypical green king pub with a decent food menu that is catering for families and local gatherings. The reality is the food isn’t from a bespoke daily changing menu but it’s actually fresh and tasty and the difference is that the staff are working hard and deserve recognition. Great service in a decent environment. They serve drinks and food with a big smile - what more can you ask for ;)

Really liked the food, kids enjoyed their items too. They have decent options for Veggie which was great. The girls serving us were super friendly and just had an overall satisfying experience. I only wish they had some small play area for kids to hang out similar to Kittoch, but for food this place was better than Kittoch I must say.

Had a superb meal at the White Cart that we have visited many times! The food is always excellent, (probably more pub grub than fine dining) but suits our tastes very well. What makes it extra special are the staff! They are always friendly, Helpful and always smiling! They cannot do enough to make the visit very pleasant! We have never had a bad experience here and cannot recommend them highly enough! Thank you.

My starter was cold, half of it perfectly cooked the other half cremated, my partner's starter was freezing cold and the replacement inedible, my main was lovely but again my partner's was cold. This service was rather slow but we weren't really in a hurry. The servers were very apologetic and handled the problems professionally and politely. We have eaten here several times before and it's always been really good. A disappointing last holiday treat before going back to work!!

When we eventually got the food it was really nice. So slow between courses. The ambience of the place was spoilt as we requested the radiator to be put on as we were cold, and this was not followed through. The staff are highly recommendable. Maybe try in the summer when the weather is warmer.

I had a chargrilled chicken salad. It was full of leaves, four slices of chicken some tomatoes, some peppers with a cesarean sauce. I definitely wouldn't recommend this dish.

My wife and I ordered steak and ale pie The crust on the pie crust was rock solid and very difficult too eat, when we eventually got into the pie we found very little steak just gravy and gristle, With a handful of chips and peas, We were very dissatisfied with the quality the food. We ordered coffee and cheese cake at the same time the coffee came without the cake ! Then the small portion of cheese cake came 15mins later. I didn't complain due too our 95 year old mother paying for it as a special treat for us ! And didn't want her too feel uncomfortable with the situation !

Probably the worst meal I've had in a restaurant. Opted for the Christmas menu for which I had to pay a deposit. Starter was OK for both my wife and me. Main course was an absolute disgrace (Turkey and all the trimmings). Turkey itself was OK but very small, Roast potatoes were dried up and chewy and some were black inside. Roast parsnips were chewy too. Pig in blanket (only one) was OK. Broccoli was uncooked and the stuffing was tiny - about 2cm square x 1cm thick. Bar staff were unaware of their stock - I asked for a Rioja from the wine list and were told they didn't have any only to find later that they did. On the plus side our waitress was excellent. She voided the food bill (although not the deposit) and couldn't have been more apologetic even though it wasn't her fault. We will not be back.

Just had a very enjoyable breakfast / brunch in the White Cart. As always the food was well prepared, presented and tasty. The venue was packed with families enjoying time with each other in a safe and friendly environment. Thanks to Lynsey, Grant, Justin and Grant for another excellent eating experience in this great friendly public house.

Unfortunately have to only give this restaurant/bar three stars, this is mainly due to the food quality getting progressively over the courses. I had a fantastic starter of Crispy Squid, it was well sessioned and the sauce was delicious. For the main I chose the Salmon, again was beautiful however the veg was drenched in olive oil. This unfortunately took away from the over all flavours in the dish and just ruined the over all look of the plate. Lastly the desert, the Sticky Toffee & Burbon with custard, was served stone cold. This was highly unusual and ultimately ruined the course for me. The service was good, there was a considerable wait at some points, however this is due to the amount of Holiday nights out that where in. The atmosphere is like any typical bar/restaurant, background music and just general chit chat.

Food is super tasty here, lots of vegan options too which is important to us when eating out. We were served by Lynsey today who was friendly and accomodating, along with another server who was great with the kids as she went about her job (didn't catch her name unfortunately - short cropped hair). Prices are very reasonable too.

We had a fantastic evening at the White Cart. We wanted to go somewhere local for my twins 16th birthday that did great food and we were not disappointed! Kerry and Terry our lovely wait staff made us feel at home right away, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was fantastic with all of the party enjoying the steaks and chicken fajitas and the amazing desserts. Looking forward to going back soon!

Worst Sunday roast I've ever had and at £15 I'd expect more, raw beef , rubbish roast potatoes, very poor yorkshire pud, the veg was OK, like warm meal sitting at a dirty table, had to ask for it to be cleaned, will never go back too many other places doing much better same money or less.

This is one of our favourite places to dine out. The staff are tremendous. Such a beautiful atmosphere and the service is just second to none. We were there on Saturday night for dinner, we had a seat right next to the fire, it was so cosy. We both had a beautiful salad made by Nathan, best salad 'we've had in a long time. 😋 and Lynsey your service was impeccable. Thankyou guys see you again soon and looking forward to New Years eve. 😊 xx

Me and my partner came for dinner we come here for meals due to bad experiences with other restaurants, the white cart yet again has out done themselves the food is amazing everytime, the waiters and waitresses are outstanding always have a smile and are warm welcoming people, there was one lovely waitress tonight called kerry she's was amazing. Here at the moment - service is atrocious! Table booked for 18:30 eventually got our meal after an hours wait. Had to ask numerous times how long for our food and chase up our drinks and dessert menu. A pity because the food was delicious...

We attended the Hallowe’en quiz last Sunday night and had a fantastic night. Terry was Quiz master…or more Quiz mistress, dressed up for the occasion! Wish the quizzes were more regular as they are a great night out! A good mix of questions, a lot...

Last night we went there with my friends after golfing and it was my 2nd time visit. The vegetarian burger meal is delicious, big in size and the veggie burger is well prepared. The only thing I can complain is the price of zero alcohol beer. It was a bit higher than I expected and expensive than other pubs. It would be prefect if they can offer a discount on the drink if order together with food. Service wise, it was really good as my first time visit. Thank you for the servers Lynsey and Allan.

Haven’t been here for a few years. We were looking forward to a nice lunch here today. The waitress was very nice and polite. The chicken in the chicken burger wasn’t great. It was middle of the road. You are expecting something really lovely and tender when it comes out but not to be. The Mac cheese was nice and the side salad nice and onion rings were also nice. The apple crumble was as if it had been heated up in a microwave so not great. Drinks were good. I went to pay the bill at the bar and two of them I’d say a manager looking guy with a beard and a cook with an apron on were close by but didn’t come over. More customers came in and he was dealing with them and I said to the cook that I’d like to pay my bill. She just walked away from me up to the waitress and told her to come over to take my payment. I thought that was really ignorant. Great service from the waitress though. She is a credit to them 👍

Took mum for lunch. Great selection on the menu! Was served by Terry and Lauren during our visit. Great job from being seated right through to leaving. Even had the fire on to cosy the place up.

Visited for some late food after a long busy day, we had the ultimate burgers and they did not disappoint! Tasty food served quickly by our cheery helpful waitress Zoe who was covering the bar whilst also serving us. We will definitely be back again.

Tremendous night tonight, came for food with the family and we were all thoroughly impressed. Warmly greeted by Grant who recommended starters for the out-laws and a double whisky for myself to put up with them. Went with family last weekend,my sisters birthday treat,waitress spilt a full pint of lager over new coat and watch,and down the one side of her clothing, went to toilet to try dry off.she sat all nite on wet clothing,manager came ova and took her coat to try dry it,was still soaking at the neck and shoulders when she returned it.she did apologise and offered discount on food,on ordering from the sweet menu,nobody got wot they asked for and by this time there was no point in making it an issue,just glad to leave.deffo wldnt be back.

My family and I are regular customers at the White Cart in Busby. We always recommend this restaurant/pub to everyone. Great atmosphere, attentive, friendly,helpful staff, and they have a great selection of food. I have never had any issues there. It can get busy as it is a popular place, so I would recommend to book your table ahead of time.

Group of friends in for a meal tonight, service started very well with being seated and given menus and a drinks order been taken. The drinks took a while to arrive but the food was served fairly quickly. Plates were cleared quickly further drinks teas and coffee dessert all offered and a menu given. We were then not approached for over an hour and by the time we were we nk longer wanted anything. 3 members of staff on and the only one working was Ioana we had asked her name so that we could highlight this point. The duty manager and other staff member spent over 2 hours just standing and talking to a male customer at the bar whilst 1 member of staff was doing the work of 3. Watching her constantly clearing tables, polishing cutlery, mopping the floor, stocking up all by herself was horrible and the other 2 staff members should be ashamed of themselves. Service was shambolic due to the laziness of the duty manager.

Poor food and service was lacking. Sunday roast on the menu advertised roast beef served pink, when served the member of staff said it had all been overcooked and none of them were pink. All 5 of us agreed the Roast potatoes tasted odd, advertised as being cooked in duck fat with rosemary but either old toasties reheated or cooked in some other way. The pig in blanket side was a sorry looking full size sausage with a single rasher of streaky bacon wrapped around the middle covering maybe a third of the sausage. Venue itself is nice , lots of space, not crowded with a real fire.

This was the first time we had been in and we were celebrating a 40th Birthday. Lynsey, Rith & Terry were fabulous, they were fast, effiecient, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Excellent Service, Excellent Staff, i will be back to visit because of them.

You would never know this is a Greene King bar and restaurant. Staff are excellent as is the food and drinks on offer. Handy too, being right next to Busby train station and walking distance to Clarkston. Would recommend both Xmas Dinner and the Katsu curry.

Visited for a family lunch with 6 adults and a baby. Pre-booked as they are often full at lunch time. Nice spacious table and high chair were ready for us arriving. Great menu choices and looked after expertly by Kerry. Definitely will be back.

We were a party of eleven and alarm bells should have started ringing when there was about five items unavailable on the menu. Most of us ordered the Sunday roast described as sirloin cooked pink which was tough as old boots, yorkshire puddings burnt and other meals were cold. Waitress and manager could not have been more understanding and agreed not to charge us for drinks and a couple of starters. Shame that we had to leave and go elsewhere and will definitely never eat there again.

We keep returning to this lovely place , Tasty food, great atmosphere and fantastic service. Upon entering you are greeted by a friendly welcome and knowledgeable servers , especially Kerry who always has a smile and is very attentive.
