Haven't been here for a couple of years but staying locally so tried again. Popular and lovely setting. Some big improvements. Light and airy with great sea views inside and out. Lovely breakfast with wide choices. Efficient and really friendly staff. And some cakes taken away for later. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed a cream tea and as the scones were large shared it with my husband with an extra coffee - plenty for 2. Came with good portions of cream and jam and I had 2.5 cups of tea out of the pot. we sat inside as it was a miserable day but seating outside overlooking the sea. Friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely visit again.

Very blowy day in Sheringham! This lovely tearoom is tucked along the promenade by the lifeboat station. Very welcoming friendly servers and lovely poached eggs on sourdough plus a great cuppa which was perfect after running around on the beach. The cakes looked amazing too! Super dog friendly. We liked that they were twinned with a toilet scheme in Tanzania too. Make sure you check out the art on the garden walls and the quirky gates. Highly recommended.

The second time me and my partner have visited this establishment, I thought on the first occasion it was perfect in every way , great service, excellent food and a lovely ambiance. Visited again on a chilly February day , sat outside and had lovely Yorkshire tea and sausage rolls and toasted tea cakes , delicious, and they provide blankets to keep the chill off you , a lovely touch, in my opinion the best little cafe in Norfolk.

A few of us had a nice business breakfast here with great views of the sea. The only problem came when we came to pay and asked for the VAT no. The server said he 'wasn't qualified' to give it out, despite knowing that the business was VAT registered. I have had to waste time emailing the owner to find this out (yet to be responded to). I did suggest to the server that he might want to find it out and then stick it to the counter or till so people didn't keep having to ask, however he told me he was 'only paid to serve coffee'! LOL.

Always visit whenever we’re in Sheringham. Asked for poached eggs for ‘The Skinny’ breakfast. Everything was nice except the eggs as they were over cooked so I didn’t eat them. No one checked how our meal was and when going to pay, they cheekily asked for a tip. I think they need to change their perspective on how they should ask/receive tips. If I was to visit again, I wouldn’t get a breakfast with eggs as this wasn’t the first occasion they overcooked them.

We visited when staying locally, after a lovely stroll along the seafront, we came across this delightful cafe. A popular choice as we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table to be free, but the staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming..apologising for the wait (for which they didn't need to as it wasn't a long time and we enjoyed the view while we waited) An extensive menu with savoury and sweet choices including home made cakes awaited us, along with teas, coffees, hot chocolate and cold drinks. Bakewell tart and Toffee Pecan Blondie caught our eye, and had soon arrived with our hot drinks. The cakes were as delicious as they looked. The menu also has interesting information on how the cafe got its name! We would definitely come back when next in the area, and will be going to try their sister cafe (The Wandering Whelk in Holt)

Only place I visited in North Norfolk that I think justifies it's impressive overall rating - very good food. Only dived in, during heavy rain, to warm up having not planned to eat. But then we after rounds of: crab sandwiches, cooked breakfasts, coffees, brownies, cherry bakewells we were all warm and satisfied - all food was fantastic. Service not only superb but very friendly. Excellent value and only eaterie in N-Norfolk id return to. ------ Only downside was: we got unlucky to find ourselves seated next to a table of highly neurotic townies determined to pass on their histrionic phobia of dogs to their young children. In fairness to them, they were equally unlucky to have us wet and be-dogged plonked next to them. So, it meant I had to eat whilst keeping my harmless dog on tight leash so as not to give neighbouring table mass panic attack..... But - as said - in fairness to these needlessly alarmed, dogophobic co-diners, there is nothing worse than having to eat next to people with potentially unruly and bitey dogs/kids, so walking home I saw their point of view. If you find yourself sat next to them with a dog, go easy on them and apologize from me too. Great place to grab lunch.

Really glad we stopped in here for lunch. The town was busy and we had a fairly large group, with a couple of vegans too... so finding somewhere to eat isn't always straightforward! First thing to note here was that the service was outstanding - welcoming, friendly, and really efficient. All things that can't be taken for granted. The menu was different to what you get from most cafes/restaurants - I went for the Mushrooms & Stilton, which was really quite delicious. All the other orders in our group - breakfasts, sandwiches etc, all looked great too.

Looked amazing when we happened upon it by chance at lunchtime, but was a bit disappointed. Our group is vegan and non vegan and it was great they catered for this, and dog friendly too. We had our three young children with us and the dog. It was a little chilly but no seats inside so we happily sat outside and they had blankets in the foyer which was a nice touch. They gave us menus so we picked what we wanted and ordered, there was no icecream on the childrens menu but my little girl really fancied some as we were at the seaside, so asked if they could do a childrens portion and were told no! Seemed a bit weird to me as only wanted one less scoop in the bowl so as not to waste it. As it was, the dog ended up with some but trying to avoid unnecessary food waste this seemed a bit silly. We ordered a selection of sausage rolls, vegan sausage rolls and vegetable samosas which on the menu said served with picallily and something else which I can’t remember now. Anyway, it turned up and was just sausage roll on a plate. Queried this when we went to pay the bill as didn’t want to pay for an incomplete meal but told that the other bits were chargeable extras. Didn’t make this clear on the menu and the waiter who took the order didn’t mention this. When they brought the order out he asked if we wanted any sauces, we asked for tomato sauce and brown sauce but it never turned up. No babychange drop down table in the one loo either, so a missed opportunity there, especially as they have a kids menu you would think they would have a babychange table. £4 for a reheated sausage roll with no sauce or side salad or pickle felt a little disappointing. That said, it is a great setting with a nice ambiance and friendly staff.

We thought this was going to be a nice cafe, when we saw it. But the service is non existent, we waited outside as instructed for what felt longer than it should have to be seated and then when we were seated the staff ignored us for that long we were on the verge of leaving, we probably should have, in fact a couple who came in after us were waited on and served before us. The food seemed overrated, the fruit was clearly frozen and only just defrosted and not worth the money. The building whilst nice, just felt stuffy and we couldn't wait to get out into the fresh air.

Popped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning around 9:15. Sunny outside with a slightly chill wind but not enough to stop us from sitting outside to enjoy the views (although it is absolutely gorgeous inside!) We ordered tea for two, one full English with gluten free toast and poached eggs on sourdough. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the drinks came very quickly. The poached eggs arrived looking delicious but, unfortunately, a couple sat down at the next table and lit up cigarettes so we were soon wreathed in a cloud of stinky second hand smoke - not how we wanted to enjoy our meal. Fortunately, there was an empty table upwind so we were able to decamp. Unfortunately, there was a long wait for the other meal to arrive so mine was a bit cold by then. It's a shame the food wasn't bought at the same time as we obviously wanted to eat breakfast together and it would have been nice to both have hot meals. We also thought the amount of food with the full English was a bit disappointing - only one sausage, bacon and egg, about three to four small mushrooms, three cherry tomatoes and the tiniest piece of toast I've ever seen! The plate was mainly taken up by a dish of baked beans. (To be fair, the menu does say it's only one of everything but it really was a very small breakfast - I think I had more food than he did!) All the food was delicious, though. The menu has a lovely selection and it's great that there are so many gluten free, dairy free, vegan etc options, the staff were very friendly and the location and decor are great. It's a shame but our experience really was spoiled by other people's smoke and the meals not being served at the same time so it left us feeling a bit disappointed. (It never even crossed our minds that someone would be blowing cigarette smoke over our food - thought that was a thing of the past but the staff provided them with an ashtray so it's obviously just normal - lesson learned!) Hopefully this will be helpful information so that future customers who don't like eating in a smoking environment can choose to sit inside. Not an altogether enjoyable experience, unfortunately 😕

Please wait to be seated. We quite like that sign as you know that staff know that you have arrived and will pay attention to you soon. The latter was the case here but the reception was cold and unfriendly, to say it politely. There was a window seat for two people free - bar type - but we (a couple) were directed to a table in the middle of the cafe. We made clear that we wanted to sit at the window. You're in Scheringham to see the sea so why didn't they offer that seat to us. We were pretty annoyed from the start. The cappuccino and the chocolate were the weakest we have had in years, literally. The victoria cake was average and the pancakes looked nice but were not pleasant to eat. What is sent out of this kitchen needs to be checked and reassessed. There are too many cafes in Scheringham that serve excellent food and drinks. The only staff were could see we 6 or 7 young girls, some of whom had no clue how to deal with clients or behave themselves. We were close to the front door and saw the attitude problems several times. This is not the fault of the girls. They need a good manager.

I might be speaking out of place as all staff were dressed in black so I acknowledge they could have been grieving, but the atmosphere between staff was painful to see. They were so busy being awkward with each other that they weren't noticing customers. Sadly a soggy microwaved sausage roll and dry slice of cake was a disappointment too when I'd read the great google reviews before visiting. Maybe we caught them at a bad time as other reviews seem amazing. Very beautiful 1600s restored flint building though with lovely sea view. Stunning flint work, no doubt pillaged from local churches centuries ago!

Always try and stop here for a coffee and snack whenever we go to Sheringham. It has a lovely atmosphere with the fire going. There was a queue, but it moved quickly, and the service was speedy considering how busy they were.
