What Da Pho in Kingston upon Thames

Beautiful food with an easy menu to order from. Took friends who were new to Vietnamese food and they loved it! We ordered the chicken bowl, avocado roll as well as a beef pho... All splendid! Light, refreshing yet deliciously flavoured and filling. Great prices too with delightful service!

I had dying to try pho for ages and in particular, Phoreal in Kingston. I ordered the beef combo (flash-fried steak, meatballs and brisket) which came in a delicious broth and accompanying herbs, vegetables and sauces, so you can jazz your pho up if you wish. The noodles had the perfect balance between crunchy and smooth and the broth was flavourful. Service was decent considering it was Xmas Eve when we went though one criticism is that they could have made the broth a bit warmer.

i love the pho here, both the noodle and hot soup. the taste is a real viet type, with both quality and quantity. the service and attitude is good here even it’s only a street food.

Incredibly tasty food, at an unbelievably cheap rate. The Banh Mi is a taste explosion - I had the pork and the Prawn Spring Rolls with delicious peanut satay. We also got the pork noodles as in the pic.

I was out shopping and thought i would have a quick lunch, i was leaning towards trying the Burger Bros as they have great reviews and i love a good burger. As i was passing Phoreal the smell of charred marinated pork and chicken on the bbq was too much to just walk pass and ignore. I opted for the pork and rice dish for £7.50, there was a big queue but well worth the wait and testiment to how good the food is. When it arrived the helpful lady asked if i wanted crispy onions on top and did i want it spicy or mild. I went for spicy and crispy onions and sat down to devour the tastiest pot of food you could wish for. There was loads of bbq pork over rice with cucumber, coriander, chilli paste and crispy onions. It was not really spicy as you get in Thai food but i'm sure she would of put more chilli paste if i wanted. To be honest it just did not need it and 2 hours later i am still salivating over it and looking forward to going again. Please try this place and dont walk past like i have done so many times

Another perfect Pho. Fresh, crunchy veg, tender meat and lashings of chilli. The staff, as ever, were friendly and proficient. Also, it seems to be the kind of place where strangers happily chat amongst themselves whilst they eat. Great place!

Very popular market stall selling tasty, good value Vietnamese food. There is a long queue for good reason as the food is assembled to order. The baguettes and summer rolls are excellent and I enjoyed both for less than £10.

The first time I had Vietnamese food was from ‘Pho’ restaurant and I hated it. The second time was when my boyfriend persuaded me to try Tom’s and I LOVED it. Now I’m addicted and a regular. The menu is simple and EVERYTHING on it is amazing and consistent every single time. Fresh & delicious, made with love and served with a smile. The summer rolls have the most amazing dip and I call the pork “crack pork” now coz once you’ve tried it, you can no longer walk past, smell it and not have it. Always recommend this place and everyone has thanked me for it. I feel lucky to have this place so close to me:)

Every time I go to Kingston market I say I’m going to try another food stall, but I always end up buying from Pho Real because it is just so tasty. The pork and rice or the banh mi are our favourites and you always get service with a smile. Can’t recommended enough. The fact there is always a queue (it only takes a few minutes) says it all.

Wow, what lovely flavours. We drove from Romford in Essex last week to try the marinaded pork baguette after my partner said how lovely it was when she use to work nearby. She’s a chef, and if she likes it, it must be good. Will definitely be back soon to try the pho soup! Well worth the drive.

I cycle here once a week to pick up some Beef Pho. Always friendly and the soup broth is the best I have ever tasted. Would come every day if I could!

Mate get on a pork banh-mi with some spring rolls now. The meat is beautifully seasoned, definition of tasty and the chefs will ensure your baguette is filled with some perfectly dressed, fresh salad and just enough jus to make every bite deliciously moist and appetising. Say yes to the chilli - it’s sweet rather than hot and really sets the whole thing off, complimenting the rich savoury flavour of the slow cooked meat and zingy bite of the finely cut-and-dressed carrot and cucumber. Just go eat one now - I’ve had like 10 since my first one and that was only six weeks ago. That’s nearly two a week. I’m not joking. And I’m here to tell you the quality is maintained every single time. The last one was just as good as the first. It’s located on the market, near to where Clas Olhson used to be (RIP) and the service is just fantastic - on a couple of occasions now the server has given us free bottles of water with our food when the weather’s hot - when you get little touches like this on top of the food being the absolute bomb, it makes you keep going back. Honestly, next time you’re in Kingston for a quick shop and thinking of chucking £20 at lunch - skip that, get down the market, grab your £5 banh mi and go enjoy it by the river - you won’t be disappointed!

A Phoreal visit is essential when visiting Kingston! Perfect central location. There’s a decent amount of choice on the menu. My sister and I went for the grilled chicken with rice. It was delicious with fresh and great quality ingredients. It’s a big portion - they really don’t scrimp on the meat, very filling. The guys working there are friendly and service is quick. It’s £6 for grilled chicken and £7.50 with spring rolls added - they even gave me free spring rolls with the second portion. Reasonable for the size and quality. This seems to be authentic Vietnamese food and I can’t recommend enough!

Best Pho in the UK. My family and I eat here every weekend. The service is always warm and friendly and the food is of unparalleled quality. You haven’t eaten proper Vietnamese food in the UK unless you have been here.

Forget the fast Vietnamese food or even those little restaurants in Kingston. This stall at the Kingston market has got food to die for. Their grilled chicken with rice is hands-down the best I’ve had. A true Southeast Asian flavour, the grilled chicken is well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. I always have mine extra spicy, and that’s not for the faint-hearted; it’s truly Asian-level of spice. I prefer it with warm rice over cold noodles. The latter just doesn’t feel right. I must admit that the little add-on spring rolls are not very good. To me, they’re not so flavourful. I’ve yet to try their pho soup, because I just can’t stop myself from getting the usual, but one day I’ll persevere. I highly recommend this place over any other Vietnamese places in town. You may not have table service, but for 6 pounds, it’s so worth it. One male staff in particular is friendly and passionate about the food.

Words cannot describe the taste of this delicious asian cuisine. I had the spring roles and noodles and boy oh boy were they good. It were as if the spring roles had been rolled for Genghis Khan himself by his thousands of slaves, working away to produce the finest role for their gargantuan master. Honestly though, hats off to the people who work here as they were incredibly kind, the food was made quick and was divine. Without fail one of the best places to grab a bite in Kingston and I would defiantly come again whenever I'm next in the area. GO AND TRY IT!!

I have been to Vietnam and nothing out there comes close to how amazing this Pho recipe is. The flavours are absolutely incredible and I could quite easily eat this every day for the rest of my life. The is the very best of Vietnamese street food. Pop in here when you need a spicy pick me up to clanse the jaded pallet! Spankingly fresh and restorotive Pho with a serious chilli kick.....nothing better.

We travel to Kingston just to eat from Pho. I usually have the noodles with pork and spring rolls which is always delicious. It's in a convenient spot right round the corner from the river where you can take your food and have a nice view while you eat.

We ate lunch at Phoreal, it is probably the best place to eat in the market. The BBQ meats and the Pho Are excellent.

I am addicted to this food stall in the Market and eat here most weeks. We have ordered everything on the menu and it is all excellent I would recommend the BBQ pork and the Pho.

Phoreal sells a limited number of dishes but they are all excellent. The highlights are the BBQ pork and the Pho noodle soup. Its often very busy and its a real shame that its not open in the evening as this is the best place in town for Vietnamese.

This is a little touch of Vietnam tucked away in the old Kingston Market Place. I spotted this about a year ago and whilst had reservations about "street food" I tried the food .. wow . Since then I have returned at least once a week for more. The queues are a testament to this food. There is sufficient seating in the market place once you have purchased your food. There is a simplicity about the food but unbelievably tasty and addictive .. my mouth is watering as I write. The staff are such a cheerful crew. If you happen to be in Kingston, I would highly recommend visiting them.

Now that I've discovered the takeaway option, I order 1 pho to eat in town and 1 pho to have when I get home. I don't think life gets any better. Lol.

Had been telling a friend about the Pho from this place for ages. She's practically a shut-in so I decided to take the mountain to Muhammad and wander over to hers with a couple of pots of deliciousness.

Best pho I've had in this country or Vietnam come to think of it. Absolutely perfect balance of warming spice and citrus.

I have been twice now and the noodle soup is incredible... I didnt try anything else as I wanted to make sure the flavour of the soup was as good the second time - it was. Talking to the owner - 12 hours to make the stock and NO MSG!

Phoreal is one of the best places to eat in Kingston. All the dishes are great but the. pho and bbq pork dishes are the best.

Had a realy enjoyable time with the family for a celebration meal. Everyone went out of there way for my 60th birthday. Could not fault a single thing. Food was sublime. Helpful staff and very friendly. Kids well looked after , my grandchildren loved you. Lovely specials. Happily return.

Been visiting weekly for years. i like the soup of the pho, the grill pork, but not most keen on the summer roll. even when it's busy you never have to wait for 2-3 mins.

Having travelled around Vietnam I can confirm that the food these guys are serving up is delicious and authentic tasting. I went for the pork with rice and my first mouthful instantly took me back to sitting at a food stall in Vietnam.

The staff are always friendly and respectful, even when things are super busy, and the owner is a delight. I always recommend it to people and never hear a bad word from those eating its food around me!

I eat in Phoreal most weeks, the food is excellent in particularly the Pho and the grilled pork. Only downside is the length of the queue during busy periods and availability of seating in the market area.

I've visited a few times and always recommended this place to my friends and family. The flavor in the food and the service is unreal, it's always busy when I arrive and the wait is always worth it. The team is super friendly too, a humorous team, never had an issue with customer service.

I have been visiting this place since it was established. The experience has not change since day one, maybe even better and the food is always the highest of standard. The owner and the team has always been kind and cheerful to all customers, even when they are very busy. They always ensure we are always looked after and making sure the food is good. My wife and I had today encountered a very bad experience at Phoreal. The service quality was despicable, with the owner behaving crudely towards my wife. His unprovoked behaviour was unacceptable and shameful. We have been a regular customer at this place but in addition to the unacceptable behaviour of the owner, the food quality have also deteriorated over the years. I had previously recommended this place for a proper Vietnamese cuisine but given the experience today and the recent poor quality of the food, I will not be returning to this place and nor will I suggest anyone else to patronise it as well.

We ordered Vietnamese spring rolls: two avocado and two prawn.They were excellent as was the peanut sauce. There is enough seating even though it is a very popular place, especially at lunch time. There were plenty of other options and the people serving were very happy to explain the food choices to you.

So I promised I'd write this review a while ago. I've spent over £1000 in total at this place and I don't regret a penny of that.

Influenced by reading reviews, made a point of trying it today (Saturday). Contrary to warnings, no queues at lunchtime. Personally, when trying street food, I look for a really small portion at a modest price, so that I can try something else as well. Was delighted to find a small portion of roasted pork on offer at £3 each (£5 for 2). Was really delicious, and the people on the stall were really nice as well. Total recommend.

The food at Pho Real is fantastic, however at weekend lunch times the queues can get very long and there is only limited seating in the market.

The front man is a character and has the patter but, fortunately, he is backed up by a good team who produce a delicious product. My pho was as good as I have had anywhere (including Saigon/Ho Chi Minh) and I will very happily go back to this food stand again. My wife had a "prawn roll" (Don't remember the proper name) which she much enjoyed too. A little gem of a place.

We are regular Vietnamese cuisiners and my love affair with Vietnamese food goes back to tasting it in Melbourne with its Vietnamese community, and also in London (Kingsland Road), with its cohort of natively-run eateries.

There is a good reason why there are always queues for phoreal while other stall holders are twiddling their thumbs! Food is always excellent, prices reasonable and the staff friendly. If you’ve never had Vietnamese food before, why not?

I've eaten here twice now. They only take cash, which was a pain once because I had to visit the cash point. The meals are large enough to share if you aren't that hungry, which I did with my daughter. If you just want a snack, their spring rolls are very good. We've also had the prawn rolls which my daughter enjoyed. It's easy ordering by number, but limited choices (about a dozen maybe). They are sensitive to allergies and intolerances at this restaurant. The fresh coriander they offer and chili sauce are a great bonus!

The queues for this place especially on Sunday (as very few stalls in Kingston Market are open) have become quite long. I have often waited over 10 minutes for the food and sometimes even longer! I like the food that they serve and they are friendly but there are much better Vietnamese restaurants in the area with fresher and more authentic ingredients.

I eat Pho at Phoreal about once a week, its hard to walk past the market without buying some as it is really good. Difficult decision is how much chilli to eat it with, it tastes good with chilli but it can over power the soup base, I some times order the chill on the side and eat half a portion with chilli and half a portion without.

Without a doubt, this is the best Vietnamese food in London. Try the pho soup and spring roll. It is light but pack of flavour. Phoreal is our number one destination in Kingston.

Visited here for an early lunch in Kingston Market, the place always smells great so why not? The pork with noodles and spring rolls was filling and really good value, perfect fresh flavours. The summer rolls are also large and filling, not bad for a few quid. This isn't the sort of food that is going to blow anyone's mind but that's not the point - it's fresh, it's a cheap fast food treat, it's no fuss.

OK I have no right to pronounce on authenticity, but I have had Pho from lots of Vietnamese restaurants around Europe and this suits my taste buds better than any other. The stock has impressive depth, there is a bit of chilli but you can put chilli sauce in if you want to zing it up a bit, it is wonderfully aromatic from the coriander and lemon and the beef (brisket?) is tender and tasty too. You don't get a lot for your money but it's quality, not quantity that counts here. Other interesting things to try too although the range is not very wide.

This stalls pho, BBQ pork, banh Mi & noodle dishes are a must if ur in Kingston. The owner and his staff are super friendly and funny aswell and gave me a shot of courvoisier as they were closing!

Another week and another awesome pho. Made to order with extra fresh chillies and LOADS of chilli relish (both kinds). It's fresh, it's aromatic, it's tasty and it's exciting! The "silt" at the bottom is SOOOOO good. Friendly staff as always (although they could be nicer when talking to Sandy :)). THE BEST TASTING FOOD AVAILABLE IN KINGSTON. Unless you want chips.

Excellent Vietnamese food in Kingston! Rarely eat street food but made an exception due to the good reviews. The Grilled pork with rice, crispy pickled veggies and spring rolls for £6.50 is an absolute bargain! Ban Mih sandwich is very authentic and moreish. Pho noodles were also good. Speedy service and very friendly staff who are more than happy to give recommendations.

Haven’t tried all of Kingston’s restaurants but I had to try the current No.1-Phoreal in the market place. Have to say the pho was outstanding...excellent beef broth, tender beef, fresh veg and soft noodles. Very tasty with the right amount of bite.. Great stuff.
