Wetherspoon's The Mount Stuart, Landsea House, Cardiff CF10 5BU in Cardiff

Unfortunately the employee that took the order was miserable and rude. Won't be using again. He obviously didn't want to be there.

I enjoy going to this pub and sitting on the terrace upstairs, even in the bad weather. However, Inbev (brewer of Stella Artois) is Wetherspoons' brewery partner and Stella Artois is their main continental lager product. A massive venue like this must be shifting gallons of the stuff every single day. So, how can it be 'off'??? I only had to out my nose to the pint to detect the smell.

Visited for drinks - first complete week in January. Good atmosphere, great value drinks -prompt, polite service. Imagine in the better weather, you would get stunning views of the Bay.

Second time of trying . Again the food was disappointing. I ordered the festive chicken, bacon and stuffing panini with cranberry sauce. The panini was very underfilled with chicken the bacon was dry and soggy stuffing. Never found the cranberry sauce. The panini itself was stale. I ate it because I was hungry, but felt that no effort was made in cooking my meal. I have since read other reviews and am shocked to see the bad experiences others have had. Get your act together

Nice looking Spoons. Good atmosphere. My vegan beyond meat burger could have been better though as it looked quite flat and cheap rather than a nice resteraunt/pub burger.

If I could give 0 star's I would, food awful, staff attitude, especially the duty manager, so little wonder the staff behave like they do, disgusting, avoid, avoid avoid

We were staying two nights in Cardiff Bay, 19th and 20th October and we visited here on a number of times during our stay. This "Spoons" pub is located in Mermaid Quay in the Bay. It is a modern vast spacious pub over two floors with a bar on both floors and outside seating on both. From there there were panoramic view across the Bay, which included Landsea Gardens and the Rugby Players Statue. The view from the top balcony was better, however the weather was a bit erratic so we stayed inside. We visited here both evenings before dinner and then again afterwards, we were also here both mornings for breakfast. This was very convenient as we were staying in the Travelodge nearby. There were a couple of interesting features including the glass spiral staircase, up to the first floor, built around a concrete column and the circular tower gas burner, surrounded by stones. We preferred sitting upstairs to have a drink but we sat downstairs for breakfast. Although a modern reasonably new build there was an industrial/warehouse feel to the place with is metal roof, exposed brick walls and lighting. The ladies in our group were well impressed with the upstairs toilets, as well as being really clean the taped background music was provided by a Welsh male voice choir. In general we would say that this was a really good "Spoons" and typically good value. It was well maintained and clean everywhere, with friendly staff. However we did have a few niggles. It was disappointing that there was such a limited number of hand pulled real ales, no lower strength beers, only the higher ones. There was no Greene King beers incluing IPA available over the two days. On Friday morning for breakfast we had an egg & bacon muffin and eggs Benedict with two coffee refills. The others had a variety of breakfast options, starting with full English down to smaller options. All was good and tasty and great value, everyone was happy. The next morning it was like we ordered breakfast in a different place. We ordered a bacon sandwich each, the bacon was overly salted and the bread was woolly and just crumbled, not very nice. Some of the others, who ordered a cooked breakfast, had congealed baked beans, rock hard poached eggs and soggy toast served, amongst other issues, served. We assumed different chef and kitchen staff at the weekend.

Went here 5pm on a Saturday. Very busy but found a table. Enough choice on the menu for us. I was surprised how quick the food came. Only 10 min wait for the food from ordering and hot when it arrived. We had our usual joke about how far away the toilets would be. They were clean. It was nice not to shout over music playing loud. There were a few sticky tables. Overall if you're not looking for posh eating and not fussy this is one place to find it.

We had breakfast at 10am Sunday 8 October. We were a group of 10 but the restaurant was not busy. Only 2 of the breakfasts were acceptable. Some items overcooked, some undercooked and even one person who ordered toast only received one slice of toast and one slice of bread! When we complained, the attitude of one of the waitresses ( tall with dark wavy hair) was terrible! We were offered a refund for some of the items but when two of our group went to the till , they were told that they were just “ taking advantage “! We use Wetherspoons a lot, we know it can be so much better than this.

Ordered drinks and a curry on the app, curry arrived after half hour and was cold. 45 minutes later still no sign of any drinks. Tried to qué at bar to complain but that would've taken another half hour so have up and left!

A pretty big spacious spoons but we found the ground floor area had the feel of a canteen. We had breakfast downstairs but then our evening meal upstairs and that felt far more comfortable & relaxed. Both of our meals were hot & delicious and the staff friendly. There are outdoor areas to sit on and the interior glass staircase is something to see.
