If you are looking to get a lunch but have day plans do not go here as their delivery is shocking waited an hour and a half before having to phone where I learnt my food hadn’t been made yet

Had the buffalo chicken wrap and it was great, crispy chicken cooked just right, roasted peppers were a good addition and the dressing had the perfect amount of heat. The cajun Reuben sandwiches are also very tasty here. I will definitely be back to West.

Came here today with my daughter. I had the small breakfast and she had the chicken pannine fabulous food. Got a chicken ceaser supreme for hubbies lunch, as a takeaway he says it was absolutely beautiful Defoe be back.

I have lunch here regularly as my work is around the corner and they’re food is the best! Nicest I’ve ever tasted, especially the buffalo crispy chicken!

Its lunchtime and you need a quick but great quality sandwich....you couldnt do any better than West Gourmet Sandwich bar. Yes it can get busy at lunchtime but the staff move quickly and efficiently and always with a smile. I should also point out that the lady in front of me advised she was dairy free and was advised of various options and also what to avoid...so the staff are knowledgeable as well.The menu is varied and really tasty. I had sesame chicken with hoisin sauce which when loaded with salad and put in really tasty brown bread was a very substantial lunch for under £4.Will most definately visit again.

If your visiting Belfast and want something to eat without fancy price tags the visit the West gourmet Sandwich Bar situated near the now famous Primark Building Castle St it has a great variety of hot and cold sandwiches panninis and a variety of other dishes for the on the go visitor and of course there is always the good old Ulster fry on offer for a reasonable £5.95 that's for the large BTW service as always in our City is friendly and you don't have to wait to long once your order is in only downside you may have to wait on a table especially on Saturdays but don't let that put you off as it wouldn't be long. So next time your in Belfast give it a try

OMG, this is a little gem. Quality of food was outstanding. Freshly prepared and very very tasted!!! The “Large Fry” was amazing with lots of items in it. Well worth the waiting. Wish I can re visit again soon!

We arrived in Belfast hungry having checked into our hotel, we came across west gourmet. Mad queues for their takeaway sandwiches. We got a table and ordered fantastic sandwiches. They were so fresh and full of fresh meat and vegetables.

Great restaurant, loved every bit of it. Food fresh, A lovely vegetarian selection but only 3 options on menu. This is not a problem tho as they will make any combination you want in your wrap/panini/sandwitch. Soup was great too. Great combo of sandwitches, great choice. Best sandwitch bar I have ever been to in Belfast!

We called in each morning for a full English ( Irish ) breakfast on our weekend break to Belfast, both occasions we had the large fry & it was great , quality food & good portions that filled us up all day . The service we received was lovely too even when the staff were very busy . The sandwiches & salads looked great too if you call in at lunchtime or want a takeaway . Can totally recommend this cafe

Tried for the first time today and what struck me was the large selection of gourmet sandwiches, wraps and salads. Hard to know what to go for! The fillings are top quality from the cooked meats/chicken/salad. Will be back to try something else soon :-)

The restaurant has a friendly atmosphere with a lovely staff. Food are traditional, delicious, the amount is satisfactory. The price is too good. Fuimos a medio comer (de redesayuno, a la española), habíamos desayunado a las 9, eran las 12, apretaba el hambre y esta gente come muy pronto. Lo había encontrado en Tripadvisor el día anterior pero quedaba lejos para ir a cenar y lo encontramos de casualidad volviendo de ver los murales de Belfast West. El personal de aquí es excelente para decir lo menos! Siempre es un placer venir aquí y ser recibidos por los servidores siempre sonriente ahí con bromas y aliento para probar cosas diferentes. Ahora, algunos pueden pensar que soy un amigo personal del personal y tengo que decir aunque no personales, he llegado a conocerlos en 1 calle largo plazo exclusivamente a través frecuentando los lugar! ! Y sí, son ahora amigos porque siempre nos dan excelentes consejos e información y servicio al cliente a un almuerzo normalmente con hambre! Me regularmente Oeste para tomar una ensalada o un sándwich durante mi almuerzo, ya que está a poca distancia de la oficina. La primera cosa a tener en cuenta sobre el oeste es que la cola a la hora del almuerzo es de locura, ya que está a poca distancia de no sólo mi oficina, pero había un montón de oficinas y comercios de la ciudad. El establecimiento es muy pequeño, y no diseñado para lidiar con la cantidad de clientes que visitan entre 12. 30:00 y de 14:00. En la cola, que a menudo tienen que pato fuera del camino de servicio de comida desde la cocina y vajilla utilizada en ser llevado de retorno. El proceso de pedidos implica más que otras al otro lado de la gritos mostrador para hazte escuchar por sobre todos los otros clientes haciendo exactamente lo mismo.

Been a few times and unfortunately the good food is let down by staff who have poor customer service skills. The shop is pretty tight for space as well so it's awkward when queueing for food - there is nothing that can be done about that but management should train their staff in interpersonal skills ... not a big job but it would make the world of difference to this place...

Ein Besuch im "West" zahlt sich auf jeden Fall aus. Eine sehr freundliche und singende Frau hinterm Tresen. Ich hatte ein traumhaft gutes Sandwich. Für diesen Laden würde ich nach Belfast ziehen. ;)

Having enjoyed both a breakfast bagel and a wrap, I can recommend this place to anyone visiting Belfast. The food is both appealing to the eye as well as excellent in taste. The overall experience is further enhanced by the super friendly personell.

This is the place where you get the greatest breakfast in Belfast. I always looked forward to breakfast here on a Saturday morning. I really miss it and haven't been able to find anywhere that comes close to as good. Please please please re-open on Saturdays

Visited on Tuesday with my daughter. The queue was the full length of the counter then almost out the shop the other way. We quickly found out why. Despite being extremely busy the staff were fast friendly and efficient, the sandwiches were delicious with a wide choice although I was assured you could also build your own. Will definitely be back again.

West is obviously one of the best cafes in Belfast as the majority of people know! Every Friday we order to work, with a big order like ours I like to specifically ask Claire Mc to take our request as without a fail each week when she takes the order it is flawless. This review is basically to sing her praises, every week she takes ownership of my order and makes sure everyone's is done specifically to taste (and we have some fussy people in work lol). To be honest it's great to see someone so proud of what they do! Big cheers to Claire for the help every Friday, makes my job easier when everyone in work gets the right lunch!

Been twice in recent months for a fry. I would be quite a fussy eater and love my fry ups. This is the best place for a fry in Belfast and beyond, bar none. All the usual favourites cooked to perfection, but greatly complemented by a fine bit of clonakilty black pudding.

Tried the buffalo salad today as I've been planning on doing so for a long time! And it was great! If you like buffalo sauce, you'll love this salad. Sister had her usual, Mexican chicken panini, said it was fab. Lovely girls that work there, friendly, prompt service. Thanks

I recommend the superfood salad and the crispy chicken smoked cheese wrap. Both are a taste sensation! The ingredients used in West are always top class and I think that's what makes all the difference. Service is friendly and a table is never a long wait. With prices around the same as any sandwich place in town, it's a no-brainer!

This place has the only salad I've ever craved.Really great food and the staff are friendly and pleasant. It's always busy when I've been there so you might have a bit of a wait for your food, but it's worth it!

Consistently excellent food provided with a smile here. They currently have 2 locations, one a sit-in & takeaway in Castle Street Belfast and the other a take-away based off Duncairn Gardens in North Belfast. Not only are the sandwiches the best I've had anywhere with an extensive choice to cater for all tastes but the staff who prepare and serve you are excellent. The takeway in North Belfast is my personal favourite for no other reason than convenience however if in town I would most certainly call into the sit-in on Castle Street. The staff in North are all extremely knowledgeable about the products they prepare and offer suggestions for a better 'taste' experience for those willing to experiment. I particularly like the Superfood salad as recommended to me by Oonagh and also the toasted burrito style wrap which Michelle prepared so brilliantly. Claire's speciality sandwich, her personal favourite that is, was also a big hit with myself and fellow diners! The friendly banter with all the staff makes ordering my lunch an enjoyable experience, you all really are worth your weight in gold!! keep doing what you're doing as no-one does it better!

This visit I deviated from my usual (canonized) buffalo hot wrap and had a sesame chicken hoi sin wrap instead.. it was ok but boy oh boy was it dull.. it needed more hoi sin for sure...also I think the sesame chicken should have had toasted sesame seeds not flavourless raw ones.. and the lack of salt or dressing on the cucumber and spring onion just added to the dullness. BUT the garlic chips were fab. And my boyfriend's crispy chicken, smoked cheese hot wrap was whoa-nelly good!!! So I put my dull wrap down to my own personal taste.. i can't blame my beloved West. Just don't order it people. I'm loyally returning to my buffalo wrap next time.

I've been to West at least once every week, over the last two years. They have two locations (which I think they are connected in an L shape) on Castle Street and Fountain Street. I prefer the Fountain Street location as I find the only time I've had a disappointing meal was at the Caste Street location. I must stress though, that in the 100+ times I've been there, I've only had one disappointing meal.They have a large menu that is quite varied covering wraps, sandwiches, salads, and more. There is so much choice, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The majority of the time I stick to my old favourite, the chicken goujon special with chilli and garlic sauce. Lunches with a drink tend to come in around £6-8, which is similar to a lot of other locations in the city. I've recommend West in the past and will continue to do so. Keep up the good work guys!

By far the best sandwiches in Belfast! And their breakfast is great too! Can honestly say I've never had a sandwich as nice as the Mexican chicken sandwich. Small premises but worth the wait/queue!

Went here to grab a sandwhich with a friend today. Ended up getting their turkey, ham, stuffing and cranberry sauce wrap. Was tasty and place was very busy. 5* for scores on the doors, clean inside. Only 4* as the turkey and ham was slices and not cut which would have been nice, £4.50 for wrap so normal prices.

Great sandwiches with good portion sizes. Make sure to take cash to the Fountain Street location as I don't think they take cards.

We had lunch in their Fountain Street branch last week and it was delicious. A mexican chicken wrap and a turkey and swiss cheese club sandwich. All of the ingredients were very fresh and tasty and the staff were friendly and efficient. I'd definitely go back.

Highly recommend West! I've never had a bad sandwich in here. It can be daunting when you see the queues but if you can be a little patient you'll not be disappointed if you want to sit in that is!Good value for money and really excellent tasting food.

It's may be not the sort of place you would expect to find a gem. Not quite city centre, first appearance would give you the impression it was just another cafe with standard fare and average tea and coffee. But go inside and you will be greeted by friendly staff, a lively atmosphere and food that is generous in portions, very tasty and simply well-presented. And it's very easy on your pocket. Easy to recommend. I will be back!

I had a panini with chilli beef, GARLIC MUSHROOMS, roasted peppers, cheese and rocket and it was amazing. I understand why this place is flat out at lunch time. The staff are very efficient and I want to try about 20 more things on the menu. Haven't seen anywhere else do combinations as interesting as this. Great value too.

I have been a customer here for years and always go back. Yes it's that good. These are simply the best sandwiches in Belfast if not Northern Ireland, I certainly have never tasted better.Really fresh bread and a staggering array of filling all freshly made on site. Really nice place really busy at lunch time but still quick a d efficient so no long wait to get your hands on a substantial and incredibly tasty experience.If you fancy a fry breakfast or lunch they are stunning too.

The sandwiches and wraps are unreal at west but I also love the unsung hero - the salads. The superfood salad is beautiful and unfinishably big. A new word coined just for the occasion. My mother had the jerk chicken salad, and it was also great and massive. There's also a gorgeous prawn one. Excellent staff and excellent value. An absolutely fantastic cafe.

Been here so many times and it never disappoints. Great for breakfast and lunch. Best wraps I've ever had. Doesn't look like much from outside but don't let looks fool you it will be the best sandwich of your life. Always real busy at lunch and is quite small but usually always get a table. Two guys that own it still work there hands on preparing the food which I think is amazing!

Every time I go into town I eat at West and have never had bad service or food there. I have family and friends who say to me, "Where was that lovely little place you took us?" And then they bring people to lunch there. I have brought friends and family from all over the world to West and will continue to do so as I feel it gives a great sense of our culture, our banter and our grub!!!

I was in the newly opened Duncairn branch of West and ordered the feta cheese, sun blushed tomatoes, cous cous, olives, croutons, red onion, pesto sandwich to take back to my office. Unfortunately the feta cheese was left out of the sandwich and there was very little, possibly no, pesto in the sandwich. Not complaining, just wanted to make you aware so that hopefully it doesn't happen again. Thanks

Incredible place. I only recently discovered Wests but it has now become a regular lunchtime haunt for me.They have wonderful cheery friendly staff who make your visit a delight.Their sandwiches are generously filled, to a point that almost seems insane, and those fillings consist of the most delicious fresh ingredients.Genuinely can not fault this establishment.

I only discovered West yesterday (6/7/16) after seeing a girl in work eat some of their food.It's amazing. The salads are fresh and vibrant. All handmade to include/exclude what you want. Also serve sandwiches/wraps/paninis which all look delicious. If you fancy something tasty and fresh for your lunch pop in and try. You'll not regret it!

As I took the brief turn off from Royal Avenue to Castle Street, I started to question the standard of humans in the area. Whilst they did not behave as aggressively as they looked, the same cannot be said for the seagulls, I'm pretty sure one wanted a fair dig with me as it ate the remainder of a sausage from below our outside table. Whilst the outside venue leaves a lot to be desired, the supreme sandwich I ordered really lived up to the high expectations. Sure, I waited 2 and a half hours for it to come, but I had kept myself entertained by playing the "Would you ride her" game with my colleague. A game which is full of resounding no's in such an area. 8/10 will visit again.

Have went many times with family and friends, staff are so friendly and perform to the same high standard as the food which is so fantastic and not just your typical cafe food. The vegetarian selection is very good and has so much flavour which is rare as most cafes don't take vegetarians into consideration, over all amazing place to eat every time and also fantastic take out food if you're in a hurry

Tasty and reasonable. I always suggest sitting (wait if u have to) - the service is excellent even when bunged and it tastes better sitting in. My recommendation is the buffalo chicken wrap and the garlic chips. Quite a hefty lunch so don't plan a big dinner!

Usually I love this place, excellent sandwiches but their customer care could be improved - a lot! During the week I bought sandwiches and for the first (and only) time, some garlic chips. Was given the usually bag with all my purchases in it and I promptly put it in my rucksack in view of the staff. Got home to find that the garlic chips must have been swimming in butter which had spilt out all over my things. Now some grease is to be expected, it is chips after all, but the amount was huge. Rang the cafe, finally got the manager who apologized but implied it was my fault. I pointed out that far too much butter was used and I should have been warned. All the items in my bag were ruined and I had to wash my bag 3 times before I got the smell but not the stain out. Wasn't even offered a complimentary sandwich to make up for all the trouble incurred. I am Not impressed.

Called in yesterday for a bit to eat with 2 friends , seated straight away by getting pointed to a table down the back that was free , girl seemed to have a bit of an attitude , all direct questions when taking order no manners with us , actually at one point I said she needs a good slap (obviously joking around) but all 3 of us actually said she had an attitude , tall, slim, diped dyed haired girl in an bun , however on watching her , I seen a lady struggling to get in the front door with her pram and this server literally ran to the door to help her , fair play to that , food was nice for what we got , 1 of us were cleared and other 2 never , had we been cleared or even checked on we were looking to get teas and coffees but we just went somewhere else

We have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. Staff are friendly, the food is freshly prepared and it is very reasonably priced. Only downside is it's popularity. Always busy, so be prepared to queue. Not a place to sit for hours either, but a great spot for a lunch break before returning to some retail therapy.

I'm not going to lie, I didn't have high hopes when I walked in but my gf told me it was a hidden gem. She wasn't wrong! Got a large fry and my goodness didn't it hit the spot. Jeez louise this place always gets it right!!! if you can sit down, sit down, the food just tastes better sitting in, and service is always excellent regardless of how busy they are!

I've been coming here for lunch every now and then over the past year and I'm disappointed to say that the standard seems to have dropped lately. Both cafes are always really busy which is proof that the food here is really good. However, the last few times I've come here, the takeaway salad boxes have been 3/4 full and over filled with lettuce leaves....not worth the £4.95. It's a shame as it's put me off going back.

A friend suggested we should have something quick here today while shopping in town. I wasn't sure what to expect, but what we got was superb. Good lunchtime value and an extremely tasty 'special' which was a spicy chicken wrap with curried coleslaw and chips. Very good value, and although a sandwich bar really, it has choice and everything seems to be freshly made. If looking for something quick and flavoursome at lunchtime, can recommend. Will be back with my sons, who would definitely find it to their liking for taste and quantity.

The sandwiches at West are delicious, probably my favourite in Belfast. It gets rather busy at lunch, so it may be tricky to get a table... The service is average (staff aren't the most friendly), but given the quality of food, provides very good value.

Visited here lately for lunch, although this place is small and seating is limited the place does a lot of trade, especially take-outs.On this particular day i was in a hurry to get back to work, so i opted for a take-out. I was served very promptly and the girl behind the counter was very pleasant. I had a brown bread sandwich, with mayo, chicken, lettuce and red onion. It was beautiful.This place offers a wide range of fillings for sandwiches and they do have a wide range of food on their menu.All in all lovely wee cafe/sandwich bar, would definitely return.

A very nice deli/cafe style restaurant near the Belfast walking mall shopping area. Quite small with limited seating. It seemed to do a lot of carry-out. They had a very interesting menu including a nice variety of offerings including salads, soups, and sandwiches. Food was very good. Service was casual but efficient.

Called in for a sandwich to takeaway, the place was very busy but plenty of staff keeping everything moving smoothly. But the sandwiches…wow!!! They were made to perfection, with everything you could possibly think of for a sandwich topping.

My favourite place to eat in Belfast. I've ate varius things of the menu from the amazing club to the rueban and also the excellent fry up.On my recent visit I had the buffalo tampora wrap with chilli and garlic fries, absolutely gorgeous. I can only describe it as a tastebud sensation! roll on saturday for my nxt visit.

Been here for lunch many times and thought it was about time I did a review! The choice they have is unbelieve for a small cafe, I had a latte, sandwich which was HUGE with a side of coleslaw & chilli chips for under £10! If you are looking for somewhere for lunch please try it out!

My favourite place for lunch or breakfast. Always fresh, always top service, tried the new super food salad this afternoon , absolutely gorgeous. A must try choice of chicken or prawns. . Top class ☺
