Excellent value,cooked superbly,good presentation and the staff were very friendly and efficient.Would highly recommended.Will definitely be returning.

Chose from 2 mains for £14.00, opting for the Chicken Bacon Salad, and the Burger. Both meals really good, certainly better than we expected for the price charged. Only downside was we waited 45 minutes for food to arrive. This is certainly forgivable as they have had a 100% staff change since the lockdown, with chef only taking over this week. We will definitely visit again next time in Brecon.

Called in for a lunchtime drink and meal outside of what you would think would be normal busy times. I know many places are having problems with staff levels right now but we waited ages to be served then even longer for our meals to arrive. When they did arrive, the chips were stone cold. Not good.

Stopped off for lunch. Poor slow service. Inexperienced waiter asked if we wanted our ordered starters and mains brought out together!!?? Steak and ale pie was aneomic and not homemade, served with 'creamy mash'...which was actually microwaved instant potato powder that had the consistency of rubber ! Over priced, over rated. Following our complaints the bill was scrubbed though we offered to pay for the drinks. Manager asked us to return and give them another chance.....Um....let me give that some thought....very disappointing experience

Very poor service & covid rules appear to be forgotten hereOn arrival told jokingly service would take 40mins - well it was more than thatWaitress too busy chatting to locals to serve us & no mask half the time.Finally took our drink order & went away againAfter about 15/20mins she finally took our food order.Food was ok , but service terrible One of our party ordered a second drink & that was forgotten -until reminded Such a shame, we often visit Brecon but won’t be going here again

Pros : 1. If you just want to get a few drinks and a bag of crisps..great. Central with nearby parking. 3. Good welcome on arrival and friendly staff.Cons: 1. My teenage son makes better meals 2. Slow restaurant service 3. Felt like food was an inconvenient add-on for them rather than being at the Core of their business (which clearly it isn't) . 4. Well meaning staff unable to shine with poor processes and/or unskilled kitchen . Unfortunately, there are limited choices in Brecon Town.

Two of us popped in for lunch. Orders were taken. On brining the drinks to the table, boiling tea has poured on my leg by accident (I was wearing shorts). "Opps" the waitress said with no apology! Luckily I had ice with my diet pepsi (I ordered coke), so used it to numb the burning sensation. After a long while, we started a convo with the next tale who had been waiting 45-mins with no word on their food. After almost an hour we asked about ours and we were told that there were two tables ahead of us. We asked for the drinks bill, waited ten minutes, then left. The wait staff were very disinterested in customers and it took three of them to figure out how to bill us for a diet pepsi and the offending cup of tea. Shame really. Also, the place operates under the Brains brand, but is not part of the group, as one lady wanted to use here discount card but was told quite loudly that she would not be able to use it.

If I could give a 0 I would... 1hr 30mins to get tasteless, greasy food that was nothing like what we ordered. I had to walk back to the bar to ask for more drinks and ask where our food was. After ordering, we were told half the food we ordered wasn’t available and then! they duplicated two meals and left off one meal altogether?! Manager sniggered and said she would be “3 minutes tops” to get the meal they missed?!... we were still waiting 10mins later. Absolutely horrendous. It wasn’t even busy and we can see why! We are a really patient group, but this was just absolutely awful.

Wow!!!! What a fab experience from to start to finish, the staff were very welcoming, food was spot on and all standard were up to scratch considering the COVID regulations. Will definitely be returning in the very near future. Well done Gareth and team Wellington

Unplanned lunch a couple of weeks ago . Only stopped previously for drinks on way back from rugby matches.The guy who took our track and trace details was also our waiter; his name is Ross and he was friendly, helpful and professional throughout. Shown into the dining room , which with socially distanced tables , could have looked bare but it felt cosy and comfortable.I need to mention the bar area , which looked really nice and well maintained with a wide range of draught beers etc and spirits.My wife fancied a gin and the wide range available was impressively relayed by the waiter from memory.She was pleased with her choice and with its presentation . I had a ginger beer.For lunch we chose basic bar meals ; K had cod , chips and peas and I had a couple of lovely faggots, mash, gravy and mushy peas . Admittedly, difficult to get that wrong and we weren’t disappointed; both meals were enjoyed. Only myself had dessert and it was delicious; lemon cheese cake with a honey drizzle and ice cream.We both had a coffee to finish.K had a union discount card and the total bill came to around £25.We both felt the place deserved a positive review as we’d both enjoyed and we appreciated such great service.

Had breakfast and evening meal with friends at short notice. We received excellent service. The food was reasonably priced and well up to standard and we enjoyed spending time in the Wellington's pleasant surroundings

Food is the cheapest nastiest food you can possibly buy and charged at premium prices. Service was terrible and hostile. Drinks selection mediocre. Do not waste your time or money entering or eating here. It is horrendous on every level. Really disappointing. Served one dish without the other meal and no cutlery provided, had to wait for any staff to be available to get this. Everything is done throuh an app and there is zero customer service. I will be speaking to a manager and asking for our money back but doubtful they will listen.

I’ve never in my life had a chicken breast that was drier than the Sahara dessert. Was warned about eating here but after trying the Bank and the Tap( both fully booked) so needed to eat something well I shouldn’t have bothered. If a chef can’t cook a chicken breast then maybe these guys need to look at hiring a professional it really was bad very very bad. To finalise it I had pudding and waited 40 mins and when it arrived the ice cream was nearly milkshake. Don’t waste your money here

Although Covid friendly, no excuse for dried out chicken! 4 meals ordered via app, 2 Steak & Kidney pies 2 x Hunters chicken, if it hadn’t been for the fact we were very hungry and were nearing the limit for parking we would have sent food back!Nobody came to ask how our food was I guess because they had seen it when they brought it out!Our friends will likely comment on here too!

Just been here on a fairly quiet day for the Welly, 1st I didn't get cutlery or butter with my basic prawn cocktail starter till I asked for them (twice)Main course, My steak was warm to hot, chips & peppercorn sauce warm & peas cold.I finished my 2 courses and my friend having 1 course still hadn't received his Burger main course. So we left to the surprise of the server who said "there's only 1 person in the kitchen, she can only go as fast as she can!"We over heard other tables complaing they hadn't been served and there friends had.

For a place in the heart of the town, the Wellington really lets itself and brecon down. Visited on a fairly quiet Tuesday, where I watched a friend eat a two course meal whilst my one course was nowhere to be seen. No one came to check if everything was ok or apologise for any delay. Was told that the kitchen ‘can only go as fast as they can’. Now I don’t mind waiting but if two people order on the same table then you would think they would serve at the same time?

Great hotel, bar, restaurant.. Right in the heart of beautiful brecon.. Lovely staff, tasteful decor with plenty of outside seating.. Plus doggy friendly

If you need to stay in the heart of Brecon, then this is your place to lodge. The only way of being more in the centre of Brecon is if you were to climb the Statue of Wellington and sit on its shoulders. Very friendly staff, delicious breakfast and their restaurant is also good. They have made our stay enjoyable, and we recommend it, specially for people traveling and staying with their dogs.

Do not rate a star. A kick in the arse would be better.No Rev Jenkins beer. Not a good start.Obviously arrived during the kitchen's lunch break. Clearly the best they can do in the circumstances is not good enough.Spend your money somewhere that deserves it.

Spent the weekend at Brecon eating here mostly. Meals were acceptable until we visited for sunday lunch.My husband and I opted for roast brisket of beef, even though at £14 it was £4 more than the topside on offer.We were served 3 tiny pieces of brisket which were hard and dried out. When I say pieces i mean the parts which make up a slice. (Our friend had topside and was given plenty of beef)I asked the waitress if this was the normal amount, she responded that as it's a more expensive cut, you are usually given less. When I explained that the beef on my plate wouldn't amount to one slice of brisket, she added that we were the last of the sunday lunches and that they had run out of all of the meats on the menu. She offered extra Yorkshire puddings instead.If we had been advised of this when ordering we could have ordered topside or turkey instead.Left feeling hungry, I am not a big eater.

Called in at around 2pm for a Sunday lunch. My husband being someone who tends to prefer to order other than a traditional Sunday lunch asked whether other options were available but there were not so he opted for the Roast Leg of lamb.Sorry perhaps we are old fashioned but to us Roast leg of lamb suggests meat freshly carved from a leg of lamb but no, not in this restaurant, he was served a well overcooked and very hard lamb leg steak!!! A picture is attached of the "lamb steak" (pictured on a tea plate) which he could not even get a table knife into!!! We know we should have complained at the time but the restaurant had quite a queue due to social distancing so instead we brought the chunk of dry lamb home for our dog......... we even wonder whether she will manage to get her teeth into it in the morning!!!My husband's lamb meal cost £11 and my (very average at best) topside of beef £10 so admittedly not expensive but nevertheless not value for money either.To add salt to the wounds we were the last order (bar one) taken for Sunday lunch as the kitchen had "run out" hence people coming in after us were offered the opportunity to order from the main menu. If only my husband could have had this option when they were so close to running out.I do in fact wonder whether no lamb remained when he ordered hence why he was served instead a lamb leg steak as advertised on the normal menu!!!! If this was the case pity help the poor souls who pay £15 (evening price) for the burnt offering he received.Admittedly the service was excellent, the coffee good and the vegetables acceptable but forget ordering Sunday lunch folks as it would appear the chef has not yet returned from being furloughed!!!!

Not many places open all day for food but the Wellington does on a sunday, roast dinner was rather small, only a few slices of meat and three potatoes but a nice portion of veg served separately. Server was extremely helpful and friendly, dessert was huge and oh so nice

A warm clean welcoming pub. Food better than your average pub food with decent size portions at a very reasonable price. Waiter / barman Matt was very attentive without being overbearing. Will deffinetly be back.

What a great find this is, conveniently located in the heart of Brecon town with all the amenities on the doorstep. All the staff were very friendly and all dog mad. Booked three nights over along weekend and stayed in room 17. The room was clean and tidy. Had all the usual facilities of free wifi, TV, kettle for tea and coffee making and even a hairdryer hanging in a bag in the wardrobe. The double bed was small and the bathroom was very bijou in size but adequate and did the job. This is a hotel that caters for you and your dog which is very rare and therefore makes up for the fact the rooms are not 100% spotless and its an old building that requires some serious investment. The heating did not work in our room but one phone call down to reception and within minutes a heater was bought to our room. We only had one bad nights sleep, nothing to do with the hotel but rather an inconsiderate guest next door bashing around until 2.30am mainly screaming to god how bad she felt after a rather heavy night our drinking. Overall I would recommend this establishment especially if you have a dog. A three night stay cost £285 including the dog and a breakfast for two of us.

We had a table booked, we arrived to a sign saying ‘kitchen closed’. When we checked we were informed that the kitchen are only cooking for booked tables as they are busy! Negative sign, maybe rethink the way u word this? Lovely place, nice open fire......We all ordered at the bar together (9 of us) but the child’s meal came out approx 15 minutes after everyone else (we were all finished!) our waitress was back behind the bar serving? Surely if you are waitressing a table you stick with that job until the table is all eating and happy? we also had to send a meal back due to the ridiculous size of the fish, waited 25 minutes and then asked where it was to be asked ‘do you still want the meal’?? Crazy question!! And clearly the meal hadn’t even been started, so another member of our party eating on his own then!! 2 people ordered dessert and we had to pass the dirty plates to the waitress in order To make room for the desserts?? The sauces to go with the steak were not great either Annoyingly it was all things that could so easily not happen with staff who took interest in the job?

Nice pub, standard food, good prices - I would recommend for a nice meal but not for anything special

As a family of 12 plus a dog, we had a lovely family meal at the welly , food was great , service was exceptional and management is always attentive and friendly! Thank you for a lovely afternoon!! See you soon with our Spanish family xx

Where was the chef? Stuck in traffic apparently. No hot breakfast no toast even. Manager was apologetic but no consolation with a 3 hour drive and long working day ahead. The room was good though but not good enough when you’ve paid for B & B to have no cooked food.

Called in around 5ish for a bite to eat, nice welcome from the bar staff.I had soup, and salmon for main which was delicious...My hubby had the burgers which he enjoyed and a pint.I would definitely call in again next time I'm in brecon.Just a polite mention about the ladies toilets, they could do with a check now and again.

went to the Wellington on the spur of the moment and now wish i had gone else where.when we arrived, went up to the counter where the bar staff could see me, waited a while, no one spoke, then a short guy actually in shorts asked i was booking in i informed him we were there for lunch and his reply was, "well you wont get served here you will have to go round there and he walked off. later found he was management.Went to the bar, i think the waitress or barmaid what ever was from another planet, she looked dazed and when i asked her about the items on the menu she did not care one bit, ordered one beef Sunday lunch and one chicken, no starter. the place was fairly empty but we sat for 40mins waiting. now I have to say as far as the food went it was quite good especially as it was not that expensive.The girl behind the bar never came and asked anything at all, if the food was ok or did we want a drink nothing, the reason was that she had a whole tribe come in who i heard were her mother sisters and her on little child.she spent all the time fussing over food for them.the atmosphere was grim with a few pint drinkers around on various tables.We eat our food, were not asked if we wanted anything else, no one came and checked if all was ok. Terrible, my advice, find somewhere else to eat unless you desperate!!!!!!

After leaving a bad review on here a couple of years ago have to say this place has greatly improved. Always find the service good and the place has a nice ambiance. Food that we have had here lately has always been good fair play. I know this place has been bad in the past but I’d recommend giving it another go.

Popped into the Wellington for a pre Theatre meal. We were a little early for service but the Manager took our order and our meal was out just after 5.30. Food was lovely.

Typical pub food, nothing unusual there, but a full menu with lots of choices and all prepared well and arrived at the table hot. The atmosphere of the pub is very relaxing with really nice furnishing and well appointed tables and dotted lounge chairs. Very comfortable.

We were looking for a handy restaurant with easy parking, and the Welllington was ideal. The selection of dishes was quite extensive and very reasonably priced. The service was very good and the waitress was kind and attentive. We had a curry and tiramasu for desert which was very good.

Bar service 100%. I mean faultless. Food service, aside from one completely wrong order (which was burned), a replacement meal that took double the time promised, a kids dessert that had to be put together by the bar staff after waiting 15 mins for the kitchen, and zero offer of any refund in recompense, was mediocre. Drink here by all means. If you’re hungry, avoid like the plague.

came here for a dinner out away from the mountains and were very disappointed, food poor for the price, service felt like you were disturbing them when ordering, come every year and will not be returning.

Called in for lunch , on a Friday , hot day , found the hotel to be quiet . Ordered drinks with the barman , seemed stressed , but did well . Sat and looked over the menu , decided on two burgers on the specials list and a chicken burger . Ordered with stressed guy at bar and waited . Décor looked ok , but had the impression the bar was well used at night , as only place to drink in centre of town . Food arrived , served by stressed of Brecon . What a total load of rubbish . Burgers were all overcooked , buns dry , chips bland , everything was awful . Will not go back .

Hi visited for Sunday lunch on a lovely summers day. The place looked clean and tidy so was looking forward to our lunch as we were very hungry. We waited for about 45 minutes which we didn’t mind as long as it was worth waiting for. What a disappointment I had beef and my husband had the belly pork. I could not get my knife through the beef and my husband pork looked totally undercooked. The veg came on a dinner plate and was basically carrot and broccoli which was cold and this a first for me I could not even cut through my Yorkshire pudding. We complained to the manager who handled the situation completely wrong she could see that there was a problem by all the food not being eaten and just said sorry about that and did not even offer us a complimentary cup of coffee. We paid nearly £30 pound for our meal as we ordered extra cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets which weren’t eaten either. This review may never have gone on if for one minute the manager had seemed genuinely sorry for the bad food that we had been given. But the only way you can make companies listen is by never going back.

The Sunday roast lamb was so tough that it could not be cut with a knife. They did offer to refund but that’s not the point.

It was an emergency and they fit me in. The woman who greeted me(really forgot her name sorry). Was very friendly,bubbly and talkative.

Visited for a few pints and an evening meal during a recent stay in Brecon. The Wellington occupies a grand and prominent building in the centre of town so it was pleasing to see that excellent efforts have been made to improve the decor, service and food since my last visit a year or two ago. The food choices represented good value for money - honest and tasty pub food which was well presented. There was an ample children's menu too. The beer was excellently kept Brains ales and the service was efficient and friendly. Well done to the management for working hard to turn the fortunes of The Wellington around.

Called in for drinks. Lovely and clean; large; outdoor space; dogs allowed and noticed they did vegan A beer and G&T; was cheaper than 2 rice crispy cakes and 2 children’s hot chocolates in costa! Would return

Staff pleasant rooms great not much veiws but that may be due to the location of my room as the area is gorgeous. Lovely little centre very central you can wander from pub to hotel to clothes shops to cafés.

We went for lunch with 4 friends. All four of us had the battered scampi with chips.

Pub located in main square of Brecon gets overlooked since Wetherspoons opened but is a nicer pub with lots of seating and is dog friendly. Menu is standard Brains pub menu but found food a better standard than most brains pub .

Lovely food, lovely surroundings . Very friendly and dog friendly which was a bonus. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful hotel recently refurbished to a very high standard. As soon as you walk in its very welcoming with candles creating a lovely atmosphere. Check in was efficient and informative.

Very much lieka weatherspoons. The menu was extensive and the food pretty good. The staff very accomodating and helpful. the atmosphere was friendly and really enjoyed the time we spent drinking in the pub.

Warm beer, cold food and all accompaniments as described on menu not on plate when served. Only redeeming feature was friendly staff

Called in the Wellington for lunch today had a really lovely Sunday roast it has got a lovely atmosphere and the staff were lovely very welcoming shall certainly return

We had roasted vegetable lasagne with salad and a side of garlic ciabatta and a beef lasagne with salad and a side of chips. Both lasagnes were tasty and good portions, the salad was tiny so without the extra sides would not have been enough to satisfy our appetite and felt a larger salad would have been better value for money, after all it was advertised on the menu as lasagne with dressed house salad and most of the other meals came with chips and salad or vegetables. But we did enjoy our meals anyway. The service was quick and friendly. We have had quite a few meals here this year and all our meals were very good as well as the service even during busy times. Will try the Sunday roast next.

Had a lovely birthday treat with my boyfriend at the Wellington Hotel. We went there for the breakfast but missed it so ended up staying for lunch instead. We opted for the 2 course £8.50 option and it was a great deal. I am Vegan so was happy to see a starter and a main Vegan option. No dessert option but that was a good thing for me :-) so the other half had a dessert and loved it.

The worst experience of my life, will never in my life eat there again. Under achieving staff. Food cold and just microwaved crap. Such a shame, Brecon is such a lovely place with lovely people, but the Wellington Hotel needs a marked improvement. Never again

We visited The Wellington Hotel on two occasions recently during our stay in Brecon. The first visit was for a Sunday roast which was fine - slightly chewy beef but good gravy, yorkshire pud and OK veg. The price is reasonable but the service is lacking. The young waiter looked fed up and could not be bothered to smile or dabble in pleasantries nor did he bother to clear our table despite looking round the corner at us a couple of times whilst he had a drink. Are we supposed to take the dirty plates to the kitchen for him? We might have ordered dessert but were put off by having our used plates there for so long.

Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, spotless rooms with tea and coffee facilities . bathroom heated towel rail, towels snow white. heating on when we stayed 2 Oct

Was in Brecon for one night and looking for a meal.

We decided to try here while staying in Brecon over the summer. We didn’t pre book and when we arrived were told there would be a wait if 45 mins however they were busy very so that was fine with us. In actual fact our food was ready in 30 minutes and was delicious. We had been to the wellington on previous stays in Brecon and this was probably one of the beat meals I have had there. Would definitely return here for proper pub food in a family friendly environment.

I can honestly say this is the worst dining experience we have ever had.

Haven't been to the Wellington Hotel for some time, so decided it was time to give it another go. Unfortunately about 10 minutes after placing and paying for our order we were told that they didn't have the fish for my meal. So reordered a hamburger and waited some considerable time before my second choice arrived with only half of the items listed on the menu turning up, they took it back and I finally got a hamburger with a small amount of salad. I understand that they were short of staff, but won't be rushing to return.

Stopped here for dinner and found that the kitchen was only open for another 20 minutes. However, we placed our order and the food arrived quickly, piping hot chips and everything was delicious. It was reasonably priced too.

Very good service and food. Very helpful and pleasant staff, nothing is too much to ask for. Highly recommend.

Haven’t been in for nearly a year due to it going totally downhill. Decided to give it a chance given that there’s all new staff & management. We went on a Sunday, knowing that you can have normal menu as opposed to just roast. The place was relatively clean, the high chairs were spotless (one of my pet hates when places don’t clean their high chairs after each use).

Popped in for lunch after wandering around Brecon for a bit. Generally with this sort of chain pub you know what you're getting, cheap and cheerful. It was cheap, yes, I'll give you that, but unless waiting almost an hour for someone to essentially microwave your food and hearing the staff have a row with a customer makes you cheerful, would avoid.

We arrived in the afternoon. Comfortable, friendly bar staff, decent ale. Although the only woman serving did seem a bit stretched between desk duty and serving the bar. The menu looked good so we ordered dinner. After a bit two meals cane out, but two others did not. After waiting about 20 minutes we asked what’s going on. Our meals arrived immediately, stone cold. The manager happened to be there. His response: we’ll get you another. He was too busy chatting with his cronies to really pay any attention. Not interested one bit. Eventually another meal appeared.

The Wellington is a great pub, with tasty food.

Visited for lunch as part of a days activity. Service poor and slow. And staff very rude when poorly cooked food was sent back. Burnt to a crisp !

We ate at the Wellington Hotel at lunch and dinner on a couple of occasions. The staff were extremely helpful. Food was good value and good quality.

Asked if dogs were allowed in as we were meeting a friend who has dogs. Great reception, very warm & welcoming.

Arrived at 7:30pm, pre-booked meal out for 11 year old's birthday. Slow service for starters, very slow mains (1hr 20mins). He had fallen asleep. Chilli was cold, medium sirloin steaks were rare, and still too rare after being returned to the kitchen. Manager came to speak to us when the person who took our order became aware of our frustration with slow service. He blamed staff for not telling us there would be a 40 minute wait for food (if only!). Not good practice to blame staff infront of customers. Clearly management/staff/kitchen not functioning correctly. Given a hefty discount but does not make up for disappointment and won't hurry back anytime soon.

Visited this hotel for dinner. Meals described as having vegetables but only cold carrots came out on plates so vegetable singular should be the description. The 'creamy mash' was in fact powdered and was awful. 6 of us in our party, 2 meals came out and was nearly eaten before the other meals arrived. I couldn't eat my powdered mash so asked for money back and was given grudgingly. No apology received for bad service and meals. Would definitely never eat there again.

There were a few restaurant areas... something for everyone... there was a lovely atmosphere... the food was excellent - taste and presentation were spot on. Despite being quite full we didn't have to wait too long to get served.

Was visiting Brecon and this place was recommended by my Airbnb host. The lunch and dinner sets were excellent, and my friends and I went there a few times just to try different things on the menu. The fish and chips are delicious, with light batter that wasn't too oily, and the portion of chips was just right. The garlic mushrooms was the highlight of the meal, it was so good I ordered it on two occasions and my friends loved it too.

I chose the curry which was not that tasty and the accompanying potatoes very poor. It appears we were fortunate with our timing as just after us there was a 45-minute wait for food and it looked like a few people walked out. Our dessert arrived promptly served by a very cheery waitress which was much appreciated.

Couldn't find anywhere in Brecon to eat on a Monday but they could fit us in here. Really pleasant very clean and the wait staff very pleasant. The barman could smile occasionally! The gammon and chips were very tasty, and dessert to due for. Very nice

Great place didn’t stay but went with friends for a drink, very welcoming great looking place,Shaun the manager/ owner? Was great giving us some lovely churros as kind gesture, will defiantly visit again with my family. Would recommend

We we're looking for somewhere for an early dinner whilst staying in Brecon. Normally would consider somewhere with a 3 rating, but having looked at the reviews, we could see a big improvement over the last few months under new managment - so thought we would give it a go.

Central pub .Nice to stop in whilst visiting brecon .clean good drink and food with a nice court yard out the back .

We stayed a couple of nights in The Wellington a couple of nights and it was good all round. Room was clean and comfortable, food, beer and staff all very good

The meal was ordered before 5pm so the fish & chips , peas was £5.99

Wednesday evening visit, first time we’ve been for a while. Big improvement since our last meal both had chilli very good. service with a smile at last !!!

Visited here on monday 25th, was unsure of what to expect with it being a Brains pub. How ever it was delightful, food was cooked to prefection and we enjoyed every bite. friendly staff one being a lady who greeted us as soon as we walked through the door and served our drinks two san Miguel shandy's the other I would have thought to be the manger. He took the time and effort to come over and talk to us which you dont often see these days so thank you for a lovely experience.

I must say this hotel has definitely improved in recent years after it used to have discos upstairs after 2200 hours at night on the weekends. Food and drink at a high standard and the position of the hotel is perfect for a Brecon visit

Lovely, town centre hotel, rooms nice and clean and the building itself has lots of character.

Popped in for an evening meal recently and was very surprised at the high standard and quality of everything in this very nice hotel. Enjoyed a lovely meal at very reasonable prices and would suggest you try this place first whenever you're in this beautiful little town.

Good service,friendly staff lovely Sunday lunch nice atmosphere! Will return in the future great place to check out after climbing pen y fan!

We are regulars at the Wellington. We have seen it at it's worst - the other night we are happy to say it's functioning at it's best. Value for money, quality of food, service and surroundings were all much improved. The gammon was fantastic - double the thickness of the rival restaurant weatherspoons. The dessert are lovely. It's great that the town's central restaurant is on the up!

Stayed here last week. It’s a great hotel on the high street in Brecon. I had food here twice which also was great. However the staff were the best factor here and made every effort to make me feel comfortable.
