Arrived before they stopped the orders for hot food on a Sunday lunch time. People who arrived at the same time got hot food. People who arrived 30 minutes after us got hot food. We got 1) no hot food 2) our orders mixed up 3) our orders delayed and 4) the guy before me ended up paying my bill. I’m sure it’s a nice place, they just had a bad day. Why on Earth they stop selling hot food when they were as incredibly busy as they were, I have no idea.

Went with friends on motorcycles for a coffee & cake. A truly scrumptious Blueberry muffin & cup of tea later we were ready to leave this lovely tearoom. Unfortunately my old motorcycle would not start despite various attempts. Time to call the breakdown service, no mobile phone signal! I went back into the cafe & asked to use their phone, which they were more than happy to let me use. Both of the Cafe service team members Morgan & Natalie were by this time cleaning up and preparing the cafe for the next day. I can’t thank them enough for their care & assistance during this time when they made a stressful situation easier to deal with. They were perfect hosts.I would highly recommend this beautiful cafe on the shores of Loch Ard near Aberfoyle.

We ended up in this tea room accidentally as was trying to view ben lomond with our young family, we stayed for a brew while we gathered our bearings of how to get there and the chap was very helpful gave us a decent scaled map of the area and where to view for scenery and directed us exactly how to get there.Advised us on weather conditions and time from bottom to top with young children so we decided against it, thank you, No time was too much, was very happy to help. If there were more people like this then the world would be a much happier place. Would 100% recommend this place, good views, good friendly staff, looked excessively tasty cakes (haha). 5 star from me. Mr and Mrs Moody (and family) East Yorkshire

My family and I visited the tea rooms many times before and found it to be very good. However on this visit it was appalling, a very small selection of cakes and what was out wasn’t covered and the sandwiches was poor even down to the bread being stale, we will not be coming back which is a real shame as we use to enjoy sitting in the garden and watching the porch, not this time dirty tables , rubbish on floor, waiting staff young and not experience .

We have been coming to the blether for the last four years whilst visiting family in the area.We arrived at 11.50am today, with only three other tables occupied (one of those staff) and was told whilst ordering that we could only have breakfast. It stated on the menu this finished at 11.30am. The lady doing the order didn't know the time, she then told the cook who replied she knew what the time was so surely she would of been getting ready for lunches?? Anyway we were told we had to wait ten minutes while the toaster warned up. After a 45 minute wait our toasted sandwiches arrived. They were just OK, the salad and my hubby opted for soup was nice. We didn't have any cake as they were covered in cling firm and didn't look very appealing. I paid and left, afterwards I realised I was overcharged so check your bill!! I don't think we will return.

I'm going to write much of this review as if the original Wee Blether hadn't existed which I think is fairest to the new owners. The original was of such a high standard it would be well nigh impossible to match it and filling Shona's shoes is a big challenge. However, the changes cannot go unremarked. We were unable to visit last year for various reasons but this means the new management has had time to settle in. There have been a few changes in the layout and I'll come to those in a moment. The same location, stunning views and welcoming atmosphere still pertain. The food is good and the portions reasonable from a straightforward menu. Our waitress was prompt and very pleasant. We all ordered baked potatoes but were soon to discover that there were insufficient left so my wife took soup and a sandwich. The portions were generous, well-presented and came with great side salads. Everything was very tasty and made on site. Sadly we can't comment on the cakes as our waitress left after serving our food. The remaining waitress never came near us for the remainder of the visit, despite both of us catching her eye and gesturing that we were looking for attention. Her attention remained focused on her original table and those guests who arrived after us. The layout now has always been a bit cramped and the odd choice of putting two bar-style high tables in corners made it feel even more so as it meant that I had a feeling of someone looming over me throughout the meal. Not only that, but when the lady sitting at the table went into her handbag she was so close that I was elbowed in the ear several times. The old display cabinet for the cakes has been pretty much removed and cakes etc. are now displayed on the counter, something I personally dislike. Uncovered food where people are standing and leaning over them is, imo, very unhygienic. Indeed, whilst there a chap waiting to pay inadvertently laid his hand on some of them as he leant on the counter. We still enjoyed the visit and the food, though, and when in the area would still visit. I'm sure the waitress issue would be a one-off. I can't, though, not mention the differences. I don't know if it's just the menu but it previously made much of using locally sourced ingredients etc and no longer does so. The haggis we had was good, but there was no mention of a veggie option as before and I wonder if suppliers have changed? Several other local things have disappeared from the menu (the scotch pie being one I was disappointed to miss). Cakes. The biggest attraction here was always the cakes. As mentioned we didn't get to try any but in all honesty we weren't that disappointed. The wow factor was just not there as the unusual and imaginative recipes were no longer in evidence. There used to be cakes that you just had to try because you never saw them elsewhere and making a choice was difficult. Although what was there looked good it was chocolate cake, Victoria sponge and apple pie etc. Good-looking and, I'm sure, tasty and well-made but just lacking anything special. The portions were distinctly smaller, too and it's the first time I've ever come home from eating at the Wee Blether and been hungry by the time I got home. Previously we only had light teas before after a visit but not this time. It feels a bit unfair to compare the before and after but I feel previous visitors need to hear about the changes. This is still a very good place to go but, whereas we previously made the hour+ journey just to come here now it'll be the walks we make the effort for as there are now places as good closer to us.

It pains me to have to write a poor review of this place as my previous experience of it was excellent. Visited very recently and had my food order taken very promptly. 45 minutes later after at least two reminders to the servers our toasted sandwiches arrived. They were well presented and tasty but not worth the wait. To be fair the manager decided to forgo payment. A welcome gesture but did little to enhance the experience. Whilst awaiting the food I watched a server cut slices of cake from one of several on open display on a counter adjacent to the till. She handled the cake with bare hands and ate some crumbs off the plate in between sorting her ponytail. The cake was then plated up to be delivered to a diner. Not best practice in my view. This place is a wee gem in beautiful surroundings and a welcome stop when cycling round Loch Ard. Shame.

A great find on a damp, drizzly day after a 5 mile walk around a nearby forestry walk. Our welcome from the 2 staff could not have been warmer and we were soon settled with drinks, and cake - lovely frothy coffee and the cake was apparently divine!! Definitely a return visit will be required, hopefully before winter closure but now that I know where it is, I am sure that I will become a regular. Loved the chunky wooden furniture, beautiful views on the loch even on a misty day and the possibility of sitting out on the decking in better weather. This tearoom is an absolute 'must visit'. Meals here are hearty, filling and delicious and made with locally sourced ingredients. However if your taste runs more to cakes and desserts, then this is the place for you ...without a doubt. The lemon cake is so light and fluffy it could fly of the plate ...the scones with jam and cream are the best I have ever tasted and you might want to try one with fresh berries wrapped into the cream ...sooo good! All the cakes are made fresh on the premises and there is nothing skimpy about the servings ...so come prepared to indulge yourself. The setting is lovely overlooking Loch Ard where you may observe the occasional kayaker. If you sit outside on the patio you are surrounded by bird life as well as a large selection of teapots of various shapes and sizes hanging from the eaves. Should it happen to be just a little bit cool you are provided with cosy blankets to wrap yourself in while enjoying your tea/coffee and goodies. Most definitely worth a visit!

Following a rather disappointing visit to a Callander tea room the previous day we opted for a post walk lunch at the Wee Blether at Kinlochard. Our experience was poles apart from the Callander visit. The staff welcomed us with a smile and although busy our young waitress managed to find us a table. The hearty walk had heightened appetites and as well as the soup we ordered a baked potato and a scone. The courgette and pea soup was delicious served with warmed bread, the baked potato came with a salad to die for - the coleslaw exceptional but the scone was enormous - thankfully it wasn't for me! It was a good six inches in diameter and filled with all the expected yummies and more and of course when my wife couldn't finish it I had to oblige! All washed down with a pot of Earl Grey - enough for six generous cups (at Callander our tea arrived as a pot of hot water in an old stainless teapot with a lid that wouldn't shut and a spout that wouldn't pour - teabags on saucers - barely enough for one and a half cups each). Even the payment process was a delight with staff taking the time to have conversation about dogs, walks and the Trossachs. We had been recommended the We Blether by one of my wife's clients and I have no hesitation in endorsing his recommendation. Well done ladies - exactly how Scotland needs to project itself to visitors. We will be back soon!

We finally decided to drive up (about an hour) on Sunday for a coffee and a bit of cake and it was just as good as we remembered. Lovely place, lovely people and a lovely view!

Went for breakfast and received first class service in a beautiful location on Loch Ard. Menu, service, food, coffee were all very very good: set in fun and quirky establishment with beautiful views of the water. Parking available as is seating inside and out. Can’t wait to go back.

This was our 3rd visit and I am sad to say that on this occasion the service was lacking. Sat for a while no one came to offer menus, had to ask for them. Food was nice but plates were not cleared from the tables and we were not asked if we would like anything else. I went inside to order cakes I felt none of the staff made eye contact with me and I was ignored. The young girl behind the counter looked harrassed. Eventually someone asked what I would like. I gave my order and adked where was I sitting. The dirty plates were still on our table. After another wait the cakes and coffee was brought out the table was then cleared. Sadly wont be in a hurry to return.

We've been visiting this wonderful wee tea room for many years. Having found it initially "off the beaten track", we now make a bee-line for it whenever we are in the Trossachs area. We were a wee bit concerned when we saw, on Trip Advisor, that it was under new management. We thought that it might have lost something in the transition. But all the quirkiness that made it such a great place is still there, as is the quality, home-made food. The staff are really friendly and the new owner, Jenny, couldn't have been more helpful. We missed the "Weather Station" but Jenny assured us that it will be making a welcome return. We visited on a Bank Holiday and it was very busy - the weather was great - but the staff coped very well with the demand. We were asked to move tables (outside) to allow an elderly woman sit at a table in the shade, and were very happy to do so. This request simply reinforced our view that the staff care about their customers.

This place is so friendly, beautiful location and the cakes and food are AMAZING ! We were in Tuesday the 19th of June and got the last of the soup. We arrived about 1600 and Jenny was so friendly and made us feel so welcome. I was staying over night in Aberfoyle but I have to say I would make the journey from South Lanarkshire as it was well worth it. Thank you for a lovely lunch. !

My wife and I stopped here for a coffee during a walk. This tearoom is situated close to the Loch with great views and a combination of outside and inside seating. We didn't eat as we weren't hungry but the food at neighbouring tables looked fresh and appetising. We will definitely be back.

Found this wee gem when holidaying nearby a number of years ago. Along with my elderly mum we absolutely love it and when we heard it was under new management, we were slightly anxious for a return visit. No need for concern. Jenny and her team have freshened the place up and each and everyone of them were very friendly and welcoming. Same relaxed atmosphere and same excellent portion sizes of a delicious high standard. My husband loved the bavarois (cherry slice)!! Will be back.

We had seen this place several times before and decided to pop in for a late breakfast. Lovely warm morning so decided to sit outside. We were only going to order a couple of coffees, but were swayed by the suggestion of a bacon roll and an egg and tattie scone roll. And we're glad we were. The bacon roll was probably the best I've ever had with plenty of filling and butter, and my wife who had the egg and tattie scone roll was equally as happy. We were made to feel really welcome, and the staff were so friendly and did not make you feel uneasy. Will, without doubt, be going back again. Get the bacon on ladies!!!!! Thank you, a real treat.

Called into premises on Saturday morning when working at a nearby Hotel. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Coffee is very good, the bakery options excellent and the staff are pleasant and friendly without being intrusive. Jug of water brought to your table and the portions size is fab !! I choose the Full Scottish Breakfast which was simply delicious. No space left for the delicious looking freshly baked scones! The proprietor (Jenni) spoke to us before we left, very helpful and friendly. Not to be missed if you looking for a bite to eat in great surroundings. Will return at ever opportunity!

Came across this tea room by accident yesterday. What a great little find. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was really good. It's a beautiful spot and we were lucky enough to see a water vole, (we named him Walter) which really made our day as we have never seen one before. Really glad we found this little gem and would not hesitate to go back if we are ever in this area again.

Stopped here after picking up a friend from McDonald’s Foresthills for morning coffee. It was already busy with people having breakfast etc. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff who showed us to a table. We ordered our coffee and scones which were delicious - melting on the tongue. A trip to the ladies made me laugh as the walls are decorated with ‘The Brooms’ from The Sunday Post. What a great idea. There is a seating area outside on the terrace when the Scottish weather permits with stunning views over the loch. Will visit again the next time I’m in The Trossachs.

Absolutely gorgeous food. A really friendly cafe, with a good range of lunch options, the food exceeded expectations for this unpretentious little cafe at the far end of the high street. The kids absolutely loved the mac and cheese, and they use local butchers for their meat. We would absolutely come again, tasty, good value!

As much as it pains me to write, I was very disappointed in the Bistro. The setting is beautiful and our server was very attentive - however, our coffees were served cold and our cakes were shop bought!!! A detail only given away by notifying our server that 2/3 of us had an allergy. He checked the “packaging” and told us the “allergens in bold”. For where we were, I’d of expected slightly higher quality/local bakery products. The walk around the gardens after was the highlight.
