Websters Fish & Chips in Bradford

A decent chippy, good prices and food was fine - chunky chicken pie for £3 was fine, very like they had used tinned chunky chicken and put pastry around it, but for £3 it was good... did have a small bone in it though!

Nice little chip shop, with a good variety on the menu. Tried the chips today and they were fantastic and a well stocked drinks fridge 😁 Very good customer service too

This was a fantastic place to go for lunch, with the options clearly detailed at the counter! The staff were welcoming and even offered to organize for food to be served at the same time as my friend when he had to withdraw cash, haddock and chips was delicious coming in quick time.

Rip off, terrible!! We had a fancy for chips but the takeaway chip bags were suspiciously cold...yes got home and chips inside were tepid at best and hard...obviously old. 3 bags of inedible chips for £7 . Never again!!

Tried getting delivery when o rung 90 minutes later the assistant was so rude finished up cancelling it very poor customer service

Went here as our usual fish and chip shop wasn’t open, what a mistake! On entering not even greeted with a smile or hello from the young girl at counter,,, I ordered fish and chips, a light bite fish and chips and a curry sauce, I’d spotted the chips looked anaemic ready to be served in fryer so purposely asked for more well done chips can you fry them a few minutes longer,,, I sat down whilst she served next customer,, Within 2 minutes she put bag on counter and said were ready I said “really” so are the well done chips in that bag she just said “oh,,well they’ve just been done so should be ok” Clearly she didn’t pass on that information and wasn’t bothered and didn’t care as not even a sorry or offer to re-do the chips as I’d asked! Fish was small and over cooked clearly been sat in heated compartment, no nice crispy batter! Chips were the same anaemic ones I’d seen when went in What a waste of £15 wish we’d got a Chinese instead 😡

Inept - ordered fish and chips and received no chips, the fish was awful. The “Manager” was literally no help, and didn’t know what to fix the issue.

Once again very poor quality and tasted like it had been in the heated section of the frier for a while. This is the second time I've had an upset stomach after eating here.

Ordered Haddock and chips with mushy peas. Chip portion small and whole dinner was soakie. I only drove 5 mins down the road, if I had eaten in the carpark would of definitely took them back. To be honest the fish tasted good but the batter and the colour of the chips were not appealing. Reminded me of kfc chicken batter. Don't think be going again.

Ordered gluten free fish and chips along with normal fish and chips and a kids meal. When we got home we noticed they didn't label the GF meal, we did try compare the fish batter with the normal ones but we couldn't tell the difference this time. I called the shop to explain and asked if they put the GF meal at the bottom of the bag or in the middle of the two normal meals, unfortunately the response I got from the lady was 'I'm not sure'. No apology, no offer to make a new GF meal, no offer of refund. Last time we visited we ordered the same meals and was told the chip shop curry sauce was gluten free (phone order), this time round we went into the shop to order and the manager told us it isn't gluten free. If you have an allergy, you are best speaking to the manager before ordering, and double checking your food before you leave so you don't end up disappointed. The front of house staff could do with some training to prevent this from happening again.

Bobbed in on my way home last night after a long day at work, walked through the door to a line of customers but a welcoming from the fryer. Asking how many fish I would like, the service was spot on and the food was 10/10 ! The fryer is the best about and would highly recommend ! I will defo be calling again very soon

Just popped in here and man behind fryers was extremely rude demanding to know whether we wanted fish, then if we wanted chips as soon as we walked in. He was literally tutting and rolling rolling his eyes and walked off into the back of the shop in a huff so we left without ordering anything.

I'd much rather take the extra journey to The Trawlermans in Cross hills, as the quality for the price was lacking by far. The fish and chips was very small... like child size. The cans of pop extremely overpriced and the curry sauce was awful. Tasted like salty dish water. I regret ever going here and definitely won't come back again. Don't mean to sound harsh but it was just a really disappointing experience. I'd say I could get better fish and chips from the frozen section at Aldi and at a quatre of the price too.

Pretty average chippy. Always close at least 20 minutes early, so ignore the opening times on Google; and some times run out of chips

Easily the most unworthy fish and chips I’ve ever had. Fish, chips and scallop was the order and what came must have been a fish bite. The scallop by volume was almost bigger than the fish. Chips were barely a potion too. To think this was a special haddock according to the menu board… and it cost £9.20 FML. Never again

Don't bother ordering online, it doesn't work and when you turn up they don't offer all the options on the website, for example they do not do burgers. I only travelled here (past lots of other chip shops) as one of our party wanted a burger.

Ordered a lite bite dish, definitely enjoyed the chips. Crusty on the outside but soft inside. The fish was lightly battered and was good as well. Thanks

I live locally ( nab Wood) and I'm a celiac (gluten free) every time we call in or call on the phone it's a nice experience the staff are very friendly with customers and my gluten free fish is so far very nice fresh crunchy and tasty mmmmm keep up the good work .

Used this place a lot of times in the past. Recently got bad service. Wrong orders twice, overcharged. Just lost three customers.

We got two fish they were lovely and a bag of chips you could tell the chips had been reheated we both picked at the chips then thew most of them away.

Ordered 3 fish which were cooked on order, very disappointing! Scrappy thin fish which was over cooked, so hard by the time I got home. The chips must have been there since dinner time, rock hard. For just under £15 a complete rip off! DON’T GO!!

The website gives weekday closing times as 9pm. They close at 8pm. After a long shift at work called at Websters Saltaire at 7.45 and it was closed. Will not waste my time with this fish shop again. This is the third time I have visited when they have supposed to be open and they have closed early.

The food is good but the little bald man was screaming at two men who just asked a question. I don't know what they asked but it turned nasty and the worker became nasty for no reason

Unfortunately, the batter on the fish we had last night was atrocious, it was so wet and soggy that it stuck to the paper when we unwrapped - wont be spending £20 there again - very disappointing!

Lovely fish but the chips had been left out far too long - you shouldn’t be served dry chips from a chippy - it’s an amateurish mistake.

Just had our first family fish & chip supper. The 3 of us aren’t huge eaters, so the haddock special with 2 chips was ample. Rang order through in advance and it was ready at the agreed time, 10 minutes later. The food itself was grand. The fish was nicely cooked in a crisp batter & the chips were fine. Good value for money. Nice helpful staff

Rang and ordered 3 Specials fish and 1 chips last night for our tea not having Specials before. My goodness the size of them plus the good quality of a nice firm fish .we still have one left for my tea tonight. I would thoroughly recommend this Fish & Chip shop. But make sure you have a good appetite if going for the special.

Not to bad experience during lock down but chips were undercooked and fish seemed smaller then in the past ? Hopefully this is a one off ? ( grumpy man behind frying shouting at everyone)

I dont usually do reviews but this meal annoyed me that I'm taking time out to review.. although fish and chips doesn't really have flavour this has like literally no flavour at all cant taste the fish at all.. all you can taste is the oil.. I only came here as becuase of covid19 my usual suspects are closed Drakes and Towngate Fishers( although towngate is going out of the way it's honestly the best fish and chips I have tried- do yourself a favour and go there once it opens it's beautiful..and if you think websters is nice for some strange reason you will be wowed when you visit towngate.. the chips were not cooked properly .. my child usually loves chips even he turned around and said I dont like them and the fish just taste of oil and the curry sauce was bland as F@"£ pardon my French I wish I went to the terrance now and just got a takeout as just wasted my monies.. to be honest I would have been better off frying fish fingers and making my own chips at home but oh well you learn from experiences before 2 years ago it was OK like Drakes it was nice but no literally they need to up there game.. I'm telling you the person who owns it go try towngate fish and chips and when you see how busy it is you will know why..in conclusion I will not be returning and wouldn't recommend this fish and chips shop to others .. my stomach feels weird to actually hopefully it's not going to make me I'll:(

the best scampi and ever have, fresh and meaty, not greasy or doughy, simple perfect and fresh also fresh tartare sauce really delicious

Been here twice now. Expensive and not great portion sizes. Good taste to the oil/fat they fry in though but both times I've been at least one part of order was not fresh and had been sitting in the heating cabinet for long enough to go soggy. Probably won't bother again

Usually pop in every other Friday around 6pm, food is always hot and fresh and enjoyable. The fish shop is based at the end of Bingley Road just set back off the road, don’t worry if you can’t see as you will smell the food first.

Decent enough fish & chips. Not the biggest portion I've ever had or the best value (more like seaside prices) but it filled a hole :) Service slow (though it was Saturday night) but friendly enough. Kids' meal went down well with my little one. Don't think I've ever seen a chippy with a coffee machine before!

Good sized fish with a great taste. Use this fish shop regularly. Friendly staff, fish cooked to order so garunteed to be hot and fresh. Portion sizes are very good, fish are large and chips portions are large. Other fish shop products available too.Would recommend.

Clayton road shop. £2.75 for a chip butty!!!!! 70p for a tea cake!!!!! Outrageous. Were not at the sea side you know. Absolute rip off

Parking can be difficult but food amazing. Regularly buy a take away. Batter is perfect. Menu good choice. Prices comparable with other local fish shops.

Not very good service, staff came across they didn't care and didn't want to be there. Sitting on counters looking on phones, shouting demands at one another - not sure if it was a manager but the way the two girls had spoken to him I wouldn't class it as having a laugh especially in front of customers! Won't return again due to poor service and the food wasn't the best even though it's a fish and chip shop! Also pricing was ridiculous!
