Weavers Wine Bar & Eating House in South Norfolk

I am not from Diss and and unsure wheee to book for a meal. Booked Weavers and wasn't disappointed. A warm and attentive welcome from the owner as soon and we walked through the door followed by an amazing meal. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Fabulous restaurant. Got to be the best restaurant in Diss. Lindsey our host was friendly and welcoming. The menu was interesting and food didn't disapoint. The aspagerus with ham hock and poached egg was superb. The Hake main course was excellent.Wish i had taken photos to add to this review. Highly recommended. Will definitely visit again.

Have had lovely dinner here but called in for Sunday breakfast which they have just started. Got to say it was absolutely delicious, top quality produce and a very generous full English at a very fair price. Lovely welcome and friendly service. Thanks and will be back soon.

Breakfast was delicious! Probably one of the best Eggs Benedict I’ve had and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection! They cater for allergies and staff are super friendly. Would 100% recommend!

We called up when they opened on a Friday but they had no tables - then they called back 15 mins later saying one had become available and I’m so happy it did! The staff were super friendly and welcoming, couldn’t have made us feel more at home. The food was incredible - my wife had the special mushrooms on toast, and I had the Parmesan panna cotta which was superb - I’ve never had anything like it! We lucked out as they had beef wellington on the specials, which was so tender and flavourful, couldn’t have asked for more! Will definitely visit again next time we’re in Diss!

We were planning on eating in one pub/restaurant but fully booked and another place closed at 7pm, but we were directed to try Weavers on Market Hill in Diss. What a find!!! Positively EXCELLENT food. They deserve many kudos for their very good service and Chef who made our stay in Diss!

Had a lovely evening meal of 2 courses. I had main and dessert and husband starter and main, sufficient for our appetites. Pity we were the only ones in restaurant but Linsey was perfect host. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

Finally managed to attend this establishment, as its been on our list for two years. We both had steak followed by cheese and biscuits. The service was good and not intrusive. The steaks and indeed everything on the plate was really good. As the menu was listed at two or three courses we opted for the cheese and biscuits, which was a very good choice.

Excellent food and wonderful staff. I am coeliac and they cater for me brilliantly. We are definitely going back.

Beautifully cooked and presented meal, friendly and efficient service. This was our first visit to Weavers since Lindsey and Joshua took over the reins and they are clearly running a most excellent restaurant. We had a most enjoyable evening, would highly recommend!

From walking in the door to the last mouthful of dessert we could not fault anything about our evening spent with Lindsey and Josh. The service and food were excellent as always. Lindsey makes a particular good expresso Martin ( even made it a decaf one from me). I had the fish cakes to start followed by Risotto which was a rather large portion so sadly I had to leave some for the amazing jam sponge pudding which was light and airy. My husband started with the arancini balls followed by the mushroom sausage roll to complete his meal he had the apple and rhubarb crumble which in his words is to die for. Please note he is not vegetarian but really the options. We are so lucky to have this little gem of a wine bar on our doorstep. See you soon guys.

This is a great spot for fine dining. Right in the centre of Diss,easy parking. The staff were lovely, particularly the co-owner Lindsey who made us very welcome. We were 2 couples on holiday and had wonderful food, so good that we went back 3 days later. Excellent, will definitely come again when in the area.

This bright characterful restaurant set in a picturesque part of Diss is Very welcoming and comfortable with very professional staff Serving Beautiful food skilfully prepared cooked and presented Our group of four were very attentively looked after. Decided to go somewhere a little special for my birthday, unfortunately was very disappointed.First of all the positive was the staff who very welcoming and friendly. Now onto the negatives..My partner is a vegetarian and the choice was very poor and chose the Risotto which was a small serving (very tasteless)and came with no salad or anything.I had the steak which was ok (but nothing to write home about). The desert can only be described as very poor.I had the stick toffee pudding which basically was a sponge with a caramel sauce over it.(the sponge probably bought in.)My partner went for the nutty biscuit type desert which was so hard it was difficult to break into.(probably been frozen and re cooked) In summary the cost was over £82 which included 2 glasses of wine. Totally overpriced and completely underwhelming.Certainly wouldn't recommend or go back. Don't be taken in by the hype.

We went as a family for lunch on Mother's Day. This must be one of the busiest days of the year but we were given a warm welcome and the staff were friendly yet still professional throughout. There was something for everyone on the menu and the food was beautifully presented and delicious. The two mothers in our group even got a pot of flowers to take home - a lovely final touch

I loved this restaurant for years under the previous management for special occasion meals. My first visit under the new management not so much not the fabulous creations that you wouldn't dream in daily cooking at home. In fact it was just like home cooking but at the highest price we have ever paid at this restaurant. Chips were never served here before it would be a dish of lovely crispy roast potatoes with another dish of fresh vegetables. My meal was served with matchstick size chips and sticks of leeks. The pork loin was also not as tender as it could of been. My husband had steak with salad and chips. Our starter was a tiny blob of cream cheese with crumbs of something and the frangipane wasn't that special I have had better. We went as my daughter bought us a voucher for Christmas but I suspected that the previous chef at this restaurant could not be matched before I went and I was right. It was OK for and average price but it wasn't and average price it was the most expensive price we have had there. My review as always is my personal experience.

Superb meal - the stater was a great twist on an old favourite of prawn cocktail. The main was incredible and the staff were friendly and helpful. I had the best dessert ever! The takeaway we had last week cemented Weavers as my favourite restaurant ever, and I have been to quite a few. To provide a meal of that quality, still hot and perfectly cooked, as a takeaway and at that price, is remarkable. I have recommended it to several people. As I am currently confined to a wheelchair, it was a rare treat to have a restaurant meal. Well done to Katrina and the rest of the staff.

We had a fantastic takeaway last night from Weavers. All super-efficient. The meal was piping hot when we got home after a 15-minute journey. All three of us had different choices and each was absolutely delicious. Well done for the hard work that must have gone into perfecting this. We will book again with no hesitation. Weavers has always been our go to place for celebratory meals, and the weekend takeaway currently offered in these extraordinary and frightening times is the most wonderful treat. It's amazing just how well you do it, and eating your takeaways at home feels like having a very special meal out at a really excellent restaurant (like Weavers!). My meal was so delicious last week I had exactly the same this week!Please keep it up, and like no doubt a lot of others, we, God willing, look forward to celebrating the end of these terrible times with a family meal actually on your premises.

A really super lunch from the fixed price menu at lunchtime on a Tuesday.Hadn't booked so had to wait 40 minutes for a table. I think the delay was due to the number of staff on in the kitchen but don't let that put you off.On a cold day it was warm and cosy inside and the food was first class at a price that was very good value.

We have probably been to Weavers more times than anywhere else over the last twenty five or so years and are likely to continue doing so as long as those lovely people keep doing the same things! We recently visited this great place with friends and were treated, yet again, to an excellent evening of great food and wine combined with excellent service. This is a traditional local restaurant which remains consistent in providing lovely dishes served in very comfortable and relaxed surroundings.

We all thoroughly enjoyed a fantastic christmas meal together. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the festive season. The staff were welcoming and attentive and the food was to die for.

Superb food, ambience and staff. It's the second time we've been and we will be going again and again. Great choice of wines, the staff are polite and engaging. I can't find anything to complain about it was the first I had ever had Skate and it was delicious. Keep up the great work, it's a pleasure to dine out when you go to a place like this.

Weavers know their customer base ! Over the years they have managed to develop a menu that includes the owner/chefs and regular clientele “must haves” with other additions which are always seasonally focused. The bar and wines prices are reasonable and they keep serving up what people want. Last night we visited again, starters included the “must have” chicken livers in Madeira. Mains, pork in Chinese style sauce, a marvellous Dover sole. Always with a good vegetable selection.

Weavers offers v. personable, friendly and exceptionally good dining experience. Restaurant has such a welcoming/cosy atmosphere. Menu caters for everyone’s needs-be it vegetarian, gluten free etc. Food is absolutely fantastic-seasonal, classic/ inspired combinations, hot, beautifully presented on plates & absolutely delicious. Our celebratory meal was made extra special by the level of care/ service we received. I would throughly recommended this as an evening treat especially during the week the restaurant is a bit quieter. Do not be perturbed by negative/personal comments posted by others-complete & utter/ jealous nonsense. Big Forks Up. 10 out of 10.

What a find this was! We travelled up from London for the weekend to visit friends in the area. Weavers was recommended to us and it could not have been better. The setting, atmosphere and food were all 5 stars. Our waitress Katrina was very attentive and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain every dish, including a description of where the local ingredients came from. Would highly recommend visiting this lovely restaurant. We’ll be back.

I can never fault the food or service here. The seasonal menu and quality of food makes me glad we have Weavers in Diss. I like that you can buy a carafe of wine. I look forward to dinig here again soon.

This was our first visit here, although our friends have been quite a few times. It's a charming building, with both upstairs as well as downstairs seating.

Six friends enjoyed a delicious mid week lunch from the varied and changing prix fixe menu which offers good value for food of this quality - all intend to return. Recommend booking as it is not a large restaurant and be aware the stairs to the first floor additional dining area in this ancient building are very steep. Friendly obliging staff add to the relaxed ambiance of this locally popular restaurant.

Was of skiing so last meal in uk.Arrived was shown to table all very friendly.Then it started to all wrong given menu and yes had forgotten my ready glasses asked had they got a pair to borrow and yes they had ,so my day got better.Went for the hot liver in a sweet sauce on toast plus salad (but a nice neat salad)

This restaurant never disappoints me. Been there several times and everytime the food is amazing. Will carry on visiting Weavers for as long as possible. Fully recommend Weavers for an excellent place to eat. You will not be disappointed.

Consistently brilliant. Weavers will never, ever disappoint. Excellent team of front of house staff, delivering the best food. The whole menu is a delight and each visit is cherished.

What an outstanding restaurant. Been going there for 10 years and every meal I've had there has been excellent. The chef changes the menu dishes subtly all the time so youre there's always variation on favourite dishes. Couple that with a lovely cosy old world atmosphere and friendly attentive service. Just the best around here!

3 of us had different starters, the chicken livers were particularly good. Choices for the set menu were good and varied, something for everyone. Service was attentive and swift even though there was only one person serving and the restaurant was quite full.

Visited Weavers for the first time today and was greatly impressed.

Had a really great group Christmas meal in December and a friends birthday meal a few weeks earlier. The friends meal from the normal menu was pretty ordinary to be honest, not bad but lacking inspiration and that special touch .. I had a Salmon starter and could not get over how small the tiny chunk of Salmon was . Not even a mouthful.

I heard lots of reviews about this place and had very high hopes. Unfortunately I found it uncomfortable and the food was mediocre if that. I had a steak, I was not offered how I liked it cooked and it was pretty much a slim carving. I would not return.

Have been a customer of Weavers for 30 years and they never fail to provide consistently good food. Quality ingredients, imaginatively prepared and cooked. Friendly well trained staff. William is probably the best individual chef in the Diss area.

I have been to dinner in weavers on more than a few occasions,because it is one of the best venues for dinner in Diss or the surrounding area.its concistently good food,good service and a totally enjoyable evening.very intimate little restaurant good and varied menu a comprehensive wine list. Staff are attentive without being intrusive what more could one ask.(5 stars).I might regret writing such a good review if I can't get a booking next time(but hey ho) if it's good it's good.enjoy your meal!
