Wasabi Teppan-Yaki Japanese Restaurant in Warrington

Fantastic experience the whole family enjoyed it. The food great been several times and never been disappointed. We took our relatives from Martha's vineyard America. They were delighted by it all. Well done guys keep it up.

The atmosphere was friendly and the experience watching the chef cooking was ok. However the main ingredient of the culinary offering was disappointing to say the least. The food was bland colourless tasteless and overcooked which was obvious when seeing how long the various meats were on the tepan. The noodles were sadly just like a pot noodle quality we had to ask for soy sauce and chilli sauce to get some flavours! The menu says "cooked to your liking"? We were never asked how we would like our meat cooking. Sadly a very very overpriced evening of poorly prepared food. Never again.

Valentines night meal in Stockport Heath Warrington. We tried Wasabi Teppanyaki on London Road. Ordered the royal combo then watched the chef go through his humourous cooking routine in front of us.. Food quality was tasty. In addition two helpings of Sashimi and spicy cauliflower.. That was just enough for two sharing. Table attended by the pleasant & friendly Eleanor .. Xiexie 🇨🇳 We have eaten in a number of Wasabi establishments, always found them to be lacking that certain zing or wow factor. And overpriced. Good atmosphere on lovers night. So! Food over powered by Garlic .couldn't taste food for Garlic .over priced .small potions. A big let down after I'd visited the one in Manchester. Service charge automatically added ? Tipping is a choice and shouldn't be added automatically. After being let down by the food and service wasn't anything special I didn't leave a tip purely because I had to ask for the charge be removed. Won't be visiting again nor will I recommend this place.

We are a family of 5 and all had a great experience. Sushi was really nice, main food was great and the chef was fantastic. If we are back in the area, we will visit again.

Nice venue but little space between tables. This made it difficult for servers to get near and we spent ages trying to get attention to order a drink. Hubby ordered a set meal and had to ask for his miso soup. Food entertainment- fun but children only given one opportunity to “catch” something in their mouth and didn’t even try with the adults. When it came to dessert he didn’t get what the menu said and I wasn’t even offered a dessert menu. Food was lovely though and there was lots of it so money well spent.

Called in for tea tonight as it was my birthday, treated by my better half. The restaurant had a great ambiance, chilled, good music. The meet and great was excellent, pleasant chap. We chose the sushi menu … outstanding in my option, combination of uramaki spicy beef and a selection of chefs Omakase. We used to come here every Saturday before covid and have recently started to come back again. It’s still the same magnificent restaurant with friendly service… the sushi and sashimi (which is what we usually come here for) is fresh, delicious, and plentiful. The chefs are fantastic and the staff attentive and friendly. It used to be once a week here… I can see us getting back into that routine again in the very near future… well done guys and keep up the fantastic work.

Second time we have visited and both times the service and food have been equally amazing! The first time we visited as a couple we ate off the small plates menu - could not fault the food at all. Absolutely delicious. The second time we came as a family and we ate from the teppanyaki menu. The food was cooked to perfection and the whole experience was so much fun. It's not very often I write about a restaurant as they are all much of a muchness and as long as the food is good and service is decent then you go back. Or so I thought until I visited Wasabi and I felt weirdly compelled to tell people what they are missing. I work in the service industry and have done for 25 years and I'm very hard to please as my expectations are so high but from the second we entered the door it was a truly exceptional experience that I can't wait to try again. We were greeted by a guy called BJ who is a world class host and I don't say that about many people. He was personable, friendly, he gave you his full attention and he seemed genuinely interested in us. He took our names and welcomed us on our first visit and promised to look after us. And boy did he deliver. After finding us great seats at the tapinyaki table, Drinks were delivered fast and when BJ returned he literally had our mouths watering the way he described the food and options. The service continued to be excellent with BJ operating like an orchestra conductor guiding the team whilst smiling at all times acting like it was his own business. I was genuinely surprised to discover he was the assistant manager as he behaved like it was his business. He was that good I offered him a job but sadly he told me he loves Wasabi too much and extremely politely and gracefully turned me down. I wish I had more people who care as much as he clearly does. That said I'm happy in some ways as I know this guy delivers and he can host us next time and he clearly really cares about his purpose on wanting customers to keep coming back. As well as BJs amazing service the food was simply sensational. The chilli squid in batter was to die for. The sushi was without doubt the best I've tried. The tapanyaki chef was fun, my 10 year old absolutely loved the fun element and trying to catch food in his mouth and the game of egg shell football we played with the chef once the meal was over had us all giggling. At the end Bj saw us out, thanked us for our visit and sincerely hoped we came again. I've only ever wrote a couple of these things and haven't done so for many years. After tonight though we will definitely be back as BJ.....you are like the Lionel Messi of that place hosting and controlling the operation at a level rarely seen outside 5 star hotels. Well done to all associated with this business, all the staff were lovely and we will 1000% be back again and bringing everyone we know to experience the magic. My new favourite restaurant in the world Thanks again to all especially BJ. You are an absolutely brilliant young man. I sincerely hope the owners are paying him what he is worth as he is a rare and precious diamond for your business that will guarantee you success.

We dropped in for a bite to eat while we were out shopping. We decided to go for some sushi and couldn't have been more impressed with both the service and the food.Everyone is so friendly, the service was prompt (without any hovering!) and the food was so tasty. We had the cucumber maki, toriage maki (tempura chicken), ebe maki (prawns) and the salad rolls. So tasty..We have also been here before for tepanaki and we were impressed with that too.Would definitely recommend

Despite good reports from others, and the food being ok (2 to 2.5 out of 5), we had a pretty horrible evening * we were VERY COLD (even wearing our coats and hats), there was inadequate heating & because there was NO AUTOMATIC DOOR CLOSER (they cost about 50 quid), we got an arctic blast on about 50 occasions as diners & takeaway customers came & left * despite some very nice staff (except one miserable waitress) the service was VERY slow, Sushi coming out with 10 to 20 minute pauses between each small dish.We won’t be going back to this one.(the staff were closing the door, obviously aware of the issue, but with other diners, we must have had to get up to close it ourselves about 10 or 15 times during our meals)

Wow. What can I say. The service was fantastic and the food was insane. It was outstanding. My husband and I have never been before but love Japanese food. We ordered 6 dishes between us and shared. The BBQ chicken wings were delicious and the chicken gyozas were too. We also had the Chicken Katsu Curry and it tasted exactly like I hoped. It was so good. Beautiful restaurant! We were going for a walk in the forest of Arley Hall and stopped to this restaurant for sushi. Was a great choice. Presentation was always beautiful and elegant, the food was fresh and top quality and all the staff were an absolute delight, very friendly, and extremely polite. Visited here on Saturday 4th December 2021 as a group of 4. A member of the group was vegan and we were worried about the menu. We couldn’t have been more wrong! From the minute we made the venue aware they constantly checked with us if the food was ok and it most certainly was. The person in question finds some eating environments uncomfortable but by the end of our time there they were asking when they would be able to come back!! All the staff were polite, helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The whole experience was fantastic and I will DEFINITELY be returning with other friends in the very near future.This venue is well worth the five star rating I have given it.

I went for food for my sister's birthday last weekend with her and friends, as soon as we said we had Groupon we got treated differently and told we couldn't use it, I have used Groupon on a Saturday before with my partner but got told we couldn't as it was a large group, the cocktails were half full and was gone in 3 sips! My sister put a deposit down and never even got it back and the waiter wasn't very polite atal and swearing, will not be coming back here again very disappointed.

There’s even an impromptu egg juggling display. Cracking stuff!The Niku Combo included chicken, lamb and beef cooked to your personal preference. It’s all cooked and seasoned to perfection in front of your eyes with the accompanying teriyaki sauce giving it that authentic Japanese taste. It was a lot busier when I left 2 hours later. Genuinely friendly and knowledgeable staff ensured this was service with a smile.The timing of my visit could not have been better. It was the day before the start of the Tokyo Olympiad. Strange to think there would be more spectators for teppanyaki in Stockton Heath than any of the Olympic events. Whilst the Japanese capital was closed to tourists due to Covid, this Far Eastern eaterie was most definitely open for business with all of the necessary and reassuring pandemic safeguards in place to put the mind at ease.A standing ovation for the Wasabi Teppanyaki and a true gold medal performance!

I took my partner for his first teppanyaki experience, safe to say it was a massive fail. The place is well overpriced. For 3 different vegetables they charge £14! Vegetarian options are minimal. The food itself is very bland. Partner ordered scallops, £22 for 5 scallops, shocking prices. The chef seemed like he was forced to work, not engaging or fun in any way. The only good thing about this place is the sushi, it's amazing but apart from that I wouldn't recommend it

Dining here was an event with great food and service. Food cooked in front of you by a chef you can only admire for his artistry. Talked to everyone at his station and kept us entertained too with his little tricks and humour. We came away it was the kind of memory you would have of something special that happened while you were on holiday - a real feel-good vibe.

All I can say about my first time at this restaurant is, Wow that was average. I had not been before and was in a party of 7, arranged to celebrate exam results for Livvy. We were first to arrive and were seated at a table for 9 around a giant hotplate. Quite normal for those who have been before. Once the rest of the party arrived we began the order process. No issues there. Very expensive drinks arrived and so did the comedy chef. I am not being horrible here, the man was a comedian, well practised in the art warming up massive amounts of garlic and scraping the burnt bits off the hotplate. I forgot to add that he almost set the place on fire with his entry to the piece. Hot oil and brandy were set alight immediately in front of us, I wished I could bottle that fore the winter months. He could juggle eggs and his condiment jars. The children adored him catching both eggs and jars in his chefs hat (6/10) But the food, cooked in front of us fillet steak and king prawn was not very good at all. I am no expert but the food was typical of fast food cooked in front of you with the typical, salt shaker, pepper mill and plenty of light soy sauce (in lieu of MacDonald's red sauce). It was tasteless, if you remove the garlic. The meat was ok, the king prawns were ok but thats it, the fried rice was below par and so was the "fried vegetables" the starter was average too with 4 mini spring rolls and two lumps of whatever on a bed of while salad. Tasteless isnt the word. I dont know what I expected but the wife hinted I can do better myself. I think most of the rice and veggies were destined for the bin. I ate the meat and prawns because I didnt want to waste £30 a head, I didnt really enjoys it but from what I could see this is what they deliver. They were not busy but at the same time it wasnt quiet. The family of 5 we went with had similar meals and it cost them £170. They were charged £2.10 for tap water. Check your bills folks. Oh and before I go I would like to add that the chef added his special touch, he had cooked an omlette and cut it into 30+ bits. He then started launching the omlette at the guests in order they could catch it in their mouths. Bit like sealions being fed fish at the zoo. It didnt seem to matter that we would slap children for doing a similar thing at home it was what was explained as theatre at this restaurant. Can you imagine greasy omlette landing from a height covering your finery in whatever!! Once we had finished out main course we were ushered to a side table for desert. The wait was prolonged in order that we could enjoy the flaming chef with his rapidly diminishing bottle of brandy. What happened before your meal was barley acceptable, but after your meal was out of order. I was feeling a little queasy to start with but to have the brandy chef igniting the finest brandy time after time was becoming a pain in the arse. The air was filled with acrid blue smoke and I for one couldn't wait to leave the premises. Forgot to mention the desert, a green tea panna cotta. It was very nice and was probably bought in from the local M&S. I dont think I will be revisiting.

This is simply a brilliant restaurant with lots of atmosphere. We went on a Sunday night and expected it to be quiet, but it was quite busy.There were two families with young children and they made them very welcome and the young kids seemed to have a great time. Which is not surprising given the entertainment value the expert chefs create when cooking your delicious food in front of you.I have been here on many different occasions and always enjoyed it and will regularly go back. One of my favourite places.

Friendly family fun atmosphere, great theatre and the food was amazing cooked to perfection. We visited for my dads 60th and the staff made my dad feel super special, would recommend literally everything in the menu. The cooked dishes and the sushi platter were perfect.

I just around the town Stockton Heath at Warrington, found this nice decorated Japanese restaurant. It served with really fresh and tasty sushi set and the fried tenppanyaki beef and chicken dish. Both food and service are excellent. Ichiban!It was the only restaurant with original Japanese taste that I have tried in England.

We’ve been here many times but this time I was pregnant. NHS guidelines say sushi is ok when pregnancy, but regardless, the head chef came out to personally talk me through how the fish was prepared and what, if anything I should avoid. The waiters were super helpful, and the food was delicious. There was a bit of a wait for one course but we were in no rush and I could tell they were very busy, so they kindly offered us free desert and I think they also knocked my partners beer off the bill. Love the place! Great food and great service

Service was brilliant and the food was delicious. Attentive staff who took time out to speak to welcome us, chat throughout service and ask us about our order. Both serving members made sure we were fully catered for during the visit. Relaxed atmosphere and beautifully presented, fresh food.

Visited here on Saturday evening Moggs was our chef who was amazing and really entertained us the Food was amazing so tasty. We were also looked after by Wasana she treated us like royalty the service, food fantastic will definitely be visiting again
