Wasabi Sushi & Bento in Cambridge

Decided to try again after lockdown Wish i never. Dried out chicken. Sushi packet when opened smelled old. Tuna was discolouring. Will give it a miss for a while

after people trying sushi in these type of places they never eating sushi after saying they didnt like it. of course! food is bland, fish poor quality, rolls falling apart and overall its cheap stuff sold highly overpriced.

Popped into here for a quick lunch, not disappointed, very enjoyable. Prices very reasonable. Recommend 100%.

最近色んなところで見かける日本食風弁当屋さん。駅構内や駅の近くのお店も多いのですが、ケンブリッジ駅の側でも見つけました。弁当の中でもチキンカツカレーはそこそこ頂けますが、やっぱりお勧めはおにぎり。あまり日本で見かけない具材もありますが、それでも十分美味しく頂けます。

在遙遠的英國，也能品嘗到亞洲食物的味道，而且價格還很便宜。推薦這家店的咖喱鷄排飯，味道還是比較正宗的。壽司的價格也很便宜。

Located right across from the Cambridge train station. I got the pre-made rolls and bento packages. It was really tasty and great value.

A really tasty sweet chilli tofu bento ready, available and hot at the Cambridge station branch although I could only find the central branch listings on trip advisor. Lots of packaging and I’m not sure what can be recycled.

Sushi was not fresh and was not tasty. Rice was hard and fish was soft and thin. They put some spicy chili powder on sushi, which I could not like as a Japanese. I have to say the service was not good as well. They saw that I am waiting to pay but did not come so I had to wait very long. If you want to buy shshi box, there is another shop, itsu, is nearby and i personally liked that one more than here.

Nice place for a quick stop by to get some quick healthy food. The place is a bit unique in its own way, with how the packaging and food selection is presented. Good food quality and nice clean environment if you eat in.

The food is always high quality, and it's always busy. Confusing to order hot food so generally stick with the cold. OK for a quick bite, but I prefer Itsu.

I work nearby Wasabi,and once a week I treat myself😁 I like the Wasabi classic box since it includes the delicious Gyoza as well! Must try spicy seaweed bites! Nice to sit down as well.

Food is not particularly that great for the price.. Paid £7 something for a hot salmon meal which was pretty tasteless, fish was very dry, and I’m pretty sure it’s not that healthy. Very overpriced - There and much healthier and cheaper alternatives elsewhere.

The perfect late night snack ! , I order a strawberry Moshe some spicy seaweed bites and some salmon and cucumber maki and was delicious!

Been in a few times as we love sushi. But I do have to say everytime we have come in it looks a little unclean & untidy with food still on the tables, bin’s over flowing ect & the staff never really seem to come & wipe over the tables or change the bins. I had their new pumpkin rice bowl! Loved it!! I normally have the spicy chicken noodle bowl which is also great!

To take away or on the spot, you get the food yourself and there is a large choice (hot, spicy or sushi...). It is very good for a take away restaurant and not so expensive. Close to the main station...

Había una buena selección de comida tanto fría como caliente. Tuve fideos con pollo picante y mi esposa tenía un paquete de sushi. El servicio fue rápido y comimos. Ocupado y ruidoso, pero está bien para un restaurante de comida rápida del centro de la ciudad. Lo recomendaría si te gustan los fideos.

Mientras buscábamos el almuerzo para los cuatro mientras caminábamos por Cambridge, fuimos al mercado donde los olores de la comida de la calle empezaron a ir a los jugos, revisando el cajero automático y nos topamos con Wasabi. El poder sentarse también fue una ventaja.

Quick fresh food, eat in or takeaway. We both really enjoyed our food. The do sushi and curries, vegan and meat. Reasonable prices too.

This is a super convenient place to eat in. The seating and decor are great and comfortable. The sushi is pretty basic and not too exotic, however, they are still quite delicious I would say.

J’ai testé ce restaurant self service situé à Cambridge et à vrai dire je m’attendais à une belle surprise. Je suis entré pour manger des sushis mais je suis sorti avec un plat chaud de nouilles et poulet en sauce. Les nouilles étaient bonnes sans plus. Et le poulet ne m’a pas vraiment plu. Mais le concept est original et les prix abordables.

This is a super place for a quick pick me up of food. Eat in or take out its simple. I can recommend the sticky chilli chicken with rice ane edamme beans £6.50 bargain and perfect size

Popped in by mistake with my partner and the food was lovely. Plenty of vegan options and all fresh and yummy. Had to pay extra to eat in however that is normal for some cafes.. only downside was the restaurant area was very cold and it felt very rushed when paying etc.

Como recomendado por un amigo, el olor de su comida al mediodía en el trabajo la habitación personal. Es uno de los lugares en los que no creo que para visitar. Yo estaba pensando por un par de semanas y decidí escoger algunas. La comida era cálido y perfecto para llenarte de todo el día.

El personal joven, amable y divertido. Se les ve en buena sintonía mientras trabajan, eso es bueno. Los bubble tea son los mejores que he probado, cada día suelo ir a por un Original.

Pagué 6 libras. 29 una sopa de fideos con salmón. Aparte de un trozo tenía que spit porque era demasiado gristly, no había rastro de otros identificables en esta sucia de salmón sopa con fideos y bits nocivo de col que probablemente cuesta 12 p para hacer y era verdad incomible. La verdad es que tengo de fideos ramen mejor un paquete. No pude terminar la mitad de la sopa era tan asqueroso.

Non lo consiglierei. Personalmente il sushi non mi è piaciuto. Non c'è servizio al tavolo, si sceglie da una vetrina sushi preparato precedentemente e si va alla cassa a pagare. Condiscono con troppo prezzemolo e il sushi è servito a temperatura freddissima.

had a late lunch of sushi from your restaurant at around 2pm yesterday, it was a hot day . Salmon and assorted sushi rolls. By 3.30 my son was vomiting. He was so ill he had to cancel his flying lesson exposing us to a £200 cancellation fee as well as making him extremely ill. Unacceptable lack of food management - need to be careful eating their food at the end of service - see another similar experience from 2016

Been to this place multiple times when in cambridge! Offers a quick bite! You might struggle to find a place to sit on the weekend but the food is nicely packed and you can probably go down to the riverside and eat!

Quick service, got what I wanted and sat down to eat. No sweat, no complications, and food was very top quality, tastes healthy and decent price. Only downside, which probably isn't their fault, is the ground floor is too small as it gets very crowded at lunchtime since it's so popular.

Needed to pick up some food in a hurry and go, quick service on a busy Saturday lunchtime, with lots of mostly young people sitting in to eat, all food looked yummy, my Sushi was very fresh & tasty just what I needed but my sisters hot Chicken Guzo were just about edible, perhaps left on the hot plate too long. Beats the usual fast food outlets for food quality so I would visit again as its my kinda food.

Ive been going to Wasabi regularly for around 4 months now, and I absolutely love it. The store is very modern, with sleek and pristine tables, and has very lovely staff who are happy to accommodate. There is a lovely selection of food, Sushi, Noodle soups, Miso soup and more, all of high quality. This store is also vegan + vegetarian friendly, with consistent quality throughout, even offering an option between chicken and vegetable stock when filling up noodle soups for example. Overall 10/10.

Came for a late lunch and food was tasty and place was relatively clean . I had yakisoba bento which was good value and food tasted good. My only comment would be staff looked miserable just waiting to finish and get out of there. It's a shame as whole idea it's great.

Wasabi is generally one of my favourite take out sushi places to go to. They always stock what I want and it's all freshly made on the day. It's great. Even if I fancy trying something new, there's always a nice variety and selection to choose from, however I never did like paying for eating in. So we just bought our food and ate it outside on the benches.

It's a marketing ploy that works - waft the enticing smell of a curry as you walk in the door and if you're already hungry you're hooked. Clean, efficient and the best tasting sushi.

Should have known better, but it was a Sunday night and everything around was closed. Starving I grabbed a the last sushi box with salmon and a couple assorted rolls. Time I got back to the hotel and opened it up the smell told me all I needed to know..... something was not right. One taste and it was off. Into the garbage £10 pounds wasted and off I as to find something else. Down side is I left early today and could not take it back. Upside I did not eat it thus I did not have an upset stomachOpen and smell before leaving.

This was my first visit to Wasabi; we normally go to YoSushi. There was lots to choose from and everything looked fresh and well-made. We shared a selection of maki, followed by the katsu curry. Everything was delicious and the portions were very large for the price. There was lots of seating upstairs and down. This is a good alternative to YoSushi, and is a quicker option for a mid-shopping trip lunch. We will definitely go again.

I have tried two different bento boxes and both were spicy but had no flavor; plus the chicken was dry. For nearly 7 pounds, I would have gotten much better food at any take away or even a microwave meal for half the price from the grocery store. Can't speak to their sushi but I've had much better experiences at Itsu.

Love the food here, especially the hot spicy soups. Service is fast and the food always stays at a high standard. Only issue I have is that it is very costly, but I can't fault it for quality.

We have visited this restaurant a couple of times and have been very impressed at both occasions. The selection of food is great, there are plenty of vegetarian options as well as meat ones. We also found that the service was brilliant, as we were about to sit down at a table which was relatively clean one of the staff members ran over to ensure it was spotless she then apologized that it had not been cleaned before. Overall we had a great experience both times we visited and would highly recommend it.

Well located in town. Had lunch here yesterday as we wanted something light and quick. We both went for a noodle soup, one spicy and one with dumplings in it. The wait is quite quick and both soups were quite good, but we struggled to find somewhere to sit, even with the additional seating upstairs. This and the disgusting state of the unisex toilets (of which there are only two, nowhere near enough for somewhere with so much seating) brings the rating down to average from very good.

From a good selection of food, we picked out some sushi boxes and a chicken katsu curry for the price you would expect from somewhere as central as this. The sushi was quite tasty, however the chicken was dry and tasteless, and the noodles soggy.

The only positive: location.The food was tasteless and overcooked. Unbelievable that customer has to pay for wasabi or soy sauce :)

I had a bowl of Chirashi for £8.50. The restaurant is well patronised and appears to be a nice place to grab a bite whilst watching the denizens of Cambridge pass by along the busy street outside the restaurant. Am not used to having to pay extra to get wasabi and soya sauce as these do not automatically come with the meal. Other than that, I do not have complaints about the food, but the meal was not memorable either.

needed something quick and healthy and this place fits the bill a bit pricey for somethings but over satisfied I will return and try the other dishes in due course.cant fault the ease of getting a hot meal so quickly.

My family and I enjoyed a range of hot dishes in this Japanese styled fast food restaurant. It is a bright and clean restaurant with pleasant if a little Unitarian seating upstairs. The food itself was full of flavour and tasty. The staff were efficient but not over friendly or jolly. All in all a change from burgers or sandwiches all presented efficiently but without any personality.

Catena di giapponese standardizzato. In quello di Cambridge ci si può sedere. I piatti caldi sono pochi rispetto ai freddi, ma quello che ho mangiato io (Chicken teriyaki yakisoba bento) era buonissimo.

Been to a few of these first for family - they loved it! High quality fast food relaxed but busy surroundings. Salmon very good and wife's soup was excellent. Staff friendly despite being very busy. Not cheap £32 but I enjoyed it and we would(will) go back.

I've been there several times and I'll go again, because they have some good and fresh sushi for a good price (mixed box of approx 4-6 nigiri and 6-10 maki for less than 7£, add 1£ for eating in). Unfortunately, it happened to me twice that at 7 pm (2 hours before closing time) most of the stock was gone, leaving a very limited choice.

The sushi here is good, but it's a real hit and miss with things that have been in the fridge for hours, and the freshly made food. The prices keep creeping up but nothing amazingly new. Small choice for vegetarians.

The food was good, but it was slightly more expensive than I expected. I ordered the salad and the chili that came was spicy! I really enjoyed the salad. However, I thought the sushi box I ordered was slightly bland and I didn't really like it.

I went here with some family members the other day, I'd never been before. I was pleased to find I could choose from a selection of yummy sushi. The ready filled boxes seemed to have too much in for me, so the self-selection bit was ideal. My son had a hot dish of salmon katsu (I think that's what it was called), it was good but there was loads of rice with it, way more than I could ever eat! It was a relaxing atmosphere upstairs and everyone enjoyed their food. I hope we get a Wasabi in Norwich soon!

Very good sushi and the noodles are to die for. Love the 'pick n mix sushi' options. Good food doesn't need gimmicks and this is good food.

We had take away when shopped in Cambridge . The sushi tasted not that nice . Maybe the cold food make me ill.

Have eaten here a couple of times and have found the food to be hot, tasty and cheap. Haven't tried the sushi but the hot dishes which are heated at the counter. The portions are very generous.

I very rarely write a negataive review on any subject, however our x 2 meals were very poor. Yesterday my wife and I visited Cambridge, we visit once a month to enjoy the beautiful buildings and cosmopolitan feel.We always find a restaurant before we leave. We found two restaurants close to the centre of Cambridge and investigated. One offering a Japanese type environment and food but only cold Bento, no hot food, so we did not eat there. Just over the way we came across the Wasabi Sushi & Bento 'Bar restaurant and take away.The premeses looked fresh, clean and inviting, so we entered. We noted lots of pre packed cold foods, then moved to the hot food counter.My wife and I ordered Salmon Terriyaki Bento and Chicken Terriyaki Bento respectively, they arrived hot and ready to eat within minutes. We sat down ready to enjoy our meal. The food was not particularly 'wow' factor and arrived in a pre packed plastic container, with plastic knife and forks. We asked for chopsticks, which were supplied. I have never seen so much rice before! The meal consisted of - Rice, rice and more rice...half a dozen green soya beans (to add colour) and some slithers of carrot. This sludge was accompanied by an unpleasant wodge of salmon covered in batter (tempura?) then splashed with a dark source - terriyaki. Not a good start. Cost? around £8 each meal.On tasting this meal, it was tasty to be fair, but after a few mouthfulls became totally bland and uninteresting. so much rice.... thick, sticky but without flavour. Both my wife and I found the same tasting experience, so there were two palets working.We both left without finishing, leaving around 80% on the meal untouched.It is fair to say, this was by far the worst 'Japanese type' food we had encountered in over 50 years of sampling Japanese and Oriental cusinne. We saw no Japanese cooks or staff in the restaurant, which should have given us a clue. I put this type of eating house, a 'take' on Japanese food, and not a good one at that. There appear to be others cashing in on original, traditional foods for quick meals in busy environments, which is fine. But if you want the incredible and amazing Japanese food available in most towns and cities nowadays - go to a real Japanese Restaurant or Sushi bar. Sayonara. adam

I bought Sushi before from this place. They tasted nice and fresh but I haven't tried the hot food yet.

I visit this restaurant about once a week and always enjoy fresh sushi and friendly atmosphere. For me the best place for sushi in Cambridge.

It was a busy lunchtime, but we still managed to find quick, friendly service, a window seat to watch the world go by. Food was delicious.

I have eaten here a few times now and the quality has been excellent all the time. It's a bit frantic at times and can be so busy that a seat is hard to find but its worth persevering as for the money it is difficult to find a better option in the city centre. Might cost a few more quid than a burger but the food is fresh and generous and there much more on offer than sushi (excellent by the way and shames the supermarket version). Katsu curry is lovely - I can vouch for that.

I've been to Wasabi a few times (in Cambridge and in London). They have some dishes that appear to be vegan so that's great. I liked their sushi but the warm dishes I tried I don't like. They used tofu that didn't suit the rest of the dish and they don't use many vegetables in these dishes. I also found the ratio of rice to sauce is off; I prefer more rice than sauce.

My friend recommended us both eating here on out recent shopping trip to Cambridge. I wasn't disappointed. Great food and excellent portion sizes, making it value for money. Can't believe how much food we got for our British pounds. I would definitely eat here again. My only criticism is the space. Very small and not enough seats but we did eventually get to sit down and eat our meal. Overall, an excellent place to eat. Yum yum!

I needed food rather fast and didn't have time to spare so I gave this place a chance. It was dreadful. I would not grace the offerings with the description of 'food". I had a chicken curry. Congealed thick salty and otherwise tasteless stringy chicken. Given the rich offerings surrounding this place I am amazed anyone bothers.Surrounds are garish sterile and awful.

Always fresh! Always keeps the same standard! And a good value for money! And some things are better, more delicious and greater value for £, then they make in Yo!Sushi. However, it is not as directly comparable to other sushi restaurants, as it is more focused as On-the-Go eaters and TakeAway audience.Hope it will be helpful :)

If I'm in a hurry and need a filling dish I go to Wasabi, the food is good and fresh. The place is a little clinical for my liking however I go here for the food and this makes up for the surrounding. I generally have the Teriyaki Chicken.
