Warden Beefeater in Luton

We have visited twice since the restaurant re-opened in May 2021 and have enjoyed both experiences. The menu is still reduced, but there is a good selection of meals and the service has been good on both occasions and the place has been fairly full. This is a reasonable neighbourhood Beefeater and seems to have a decent following among local people. It is certainly acceptable for a family meal out or similar.

Recently had a meal here with three other adults of a certain age. Food was lovely if not awe inspiring. Filling, hot and tasty. Prompt service and we had a good laugh with Helene. Reasonable price and doombar on tap. Will certainly come again. Thanks

Restaurant itself is tired and shabby - banquette seating torn & ripped. Food typical brake brothers frozen type food - served hot. Helen our server the highlight. One gripe realised after leaving - 2 glasses of draft coke charged over £7. Why was this not charged at the bottomless rate? Ripped off here I think. Hey ho Won’t be going back.

Just a quick pop in for lunch at the Warden,our waitress Helene was lovely ,even after the advise of copying my wife's choice off the menu ,she will know ;]

Another lovely relaxed visit to the Warden. Hannah our waitress did everything to ensure we had a perfect meal. The food came out in good time, we had top ups of drinks and fries before we had even asked. It was lovely chatting to Hannah. The meals were delicious. The batter on the very generous fish was crisp and tasty.

Took my elderly parents to their favourite eating place for the first time in 18 months. Fabulous service from Nicole and the usual excellent food. Excellent covid precautions that did not detract from the Beefeater experience. We'll be back.

Visited the warden last night for my daughter birthday, was greeted at the door by the friendly manager Carl served by Darren which was lovley as always nothing is too much trouble, food was great, lovley atmosphere all the staff work so hard ensuring covid measures are met. Already looking forward to our next visit x

Lovely meal . Very covid wary with dividers between each table. Tables cleaned every time. Helene our waitress was great as usual. Only let down was the toilets . Soap dispensers not working and toilets not cleaned well .

I visited the Warden Beefeater with friends last night. What a lovely time we had. The meals and drinks were great, as was the service. They have such a great team and work so hard. All the covid safety rules are in place too. Looking forward to my next visit.

Really not bad at all, beefeater can be so hit or miss. I had the T-Bone steak which was cooked just right. The only thing that wasn't up to any sort of standard was brioche, it was squashed under my steak and looked raw, didn't eat it so can't say if it was or wasn't. That said we will definitely be back and recommend it. I wish we got the waiters name as he was a really nice man.

Terrible meal. After all those months of lockdown we were so looking forward to our meal there. Booked in advance. 4 of us. 7pm. Drooled over the menu - but when we came to order, nothing we asked for was available. No onion rings, no sauces to go with steaks, no sweet potato fries, no triple cooked chips, no tomatoes!!!! I mean come on - how hard would it have been to nip to Sainsburys for some tomatoes. We ended up ordering meals we didn't really want, but thought we'd make up for it with pudding. Fat chance. No signature chocolate brownie, no strawberries, no custard and no ice-cream. Absolutely ludicrous. And then when we tried to give in the discount voucher code which stated it could be used multiple times, they tried to reject it saying it could only be used once, but they'd let us use it again because of the amount of options that weren't available. We had to show them the terms and conditions of their own promotion.

Friendly service served by Nicole. food was great, COVID safe. Recommend this restaurant. Will definitely return.

Me and my partner visited for a lovely meal which was very tasty and cooked just the way we asked and was served by the lovely Helen she was very efficient and friendly and the place was very covid safe we will be returning and defiantly recomened

Just decided on the off chance to go for a meal.... i must say l was very impressed with the covid restrictions in placeThe service l received was fantastic... Nicole was my server.. very helpful and attentive... food was cooked just as l requested it... what more could you ask for..I would certainly go again

After waiting an hour for food it arrived looking very dry. Half the items on the limited menu were not available. Asked for salt and vinegar and was told they don't do salt and the vinegar was empty. The restaurant was dirty with soiled napkins and receipts all over the floor didn't see much sanitising going on, it was bums on seats. Wont be going again in a hurry

Great to be able to go out for dinner again at our favourite local.We were looked after by Helene, the service was great as was the food and of course the beers!Everywhere was clean as normal, with the extra covid precautions also in place.Looking forward to our next visit.

The first weekend we were allowed to go out and eat in a restaurant so we booked our local Beefeater (The Warden). Had a great meal and service was good, despite the restaurant being so busy - Nicole was an excellent, attentive member of staff.Entertainment was provided by one cantankerous old man but Nicole was pleasant to him even when he invaded her personal space and waved his walking stick at her. I applaud her calmness dealing with such an impatient customer - all the staff were very busy that afternoon so a little patience was needed.

First family time out today, decided to have a roast and it was AMAZING!! I dont say this lightly the potatoes, parsnips, beef the cauliflower cheese was to die for! Staff were very attentive but not intrusive felt covid safe! Thank you Kyle and team!!

We have just enjoyed a lovely family meal. Helen our waitress was very chatty which was lovely considering how busy the restaurant was. Our meals arrived prompt, hot and to the usual high standard. So happy to be back enjoying our visits to the Warden and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to go that delivers great food In warm and comfortable surroundings by friendly and attentive staff.

Always a lovely atmosphere and nice food, but I love the staff/team more. Always happy to have a natter and make you feel at home. Darren is legendary 😍 Everybody needs a Darren in their lives

Yesterday I returned to the Warden now that it has reopened. There have been some changes in order to make it more covid safe but the service remains as excellent as it always was as is the food. We were greeted warmly at the door by Karl, he made us feel so welcome, it was great to be back. Helene our waitress was fantastic (as always). She looked after us perfectly. The food came out promptly ( haddock and chips) and was delicious. Helene topped up our drinks and chips without us having to ask. Kyle the manager came to our table to ask how we were. We enjoyed our meal, so good to be back.

The warden was amazing, literally loved it- Helen was the best staff member, have had a problem with one of them in the past, so it was nice to have someone respectful and considerate serve me. Only one of them was extremely rude and doesn’t wear a mask (the one I had a problem with).

We went to the Beefeater Warden last night for my son's birthday. Our waitress, Helene, couldn't do enough for us. Was really lovely and very accommodating with our different meal choices. I used my Blue Light card to get my NHS discount and Helene gave us a Reward Club card. Would definatly recommend going to the Warden for ypur night out.

Great to get back out and go for dinner. The Warden is local to us and always does the job. On this occasion the food was excellent as was the service from our waitress Helene G so thanks. All courses were spot on and considering that the restaurant was busy service was very quick.

Darren our waiter as per normal was amazing. So lovely to be back and seeing his smiley face. Everyone was so welcoming and food was fab.

Had a wonderful time here for a family birthday dinner, we were served by Helen who was lovely and friendly. The restaurant was warm, welcoming and we all felt it was clean and safe. The food was delicious and we will definitely be going back, it was a great night out. We highly recommend a visit!

Yesterday (17th May) 6 of us of returned to a favourite restaurant and were warmly greeted and booked into the Trext & trace system by KYLE . Hannah was our waitress and it was lovely to be greeted by a favourite of ours. Drinks & Meals were speedily served professionally and Hannah maintained the social distance regulations . I cannot say how much we ehjoyed being back. Unfortunately there was a problem with the mushroom starters but after 2 attempts to get if right - they were taken off the menu and our bill was adjusted accordingly, I spoke to the chef in charge of starters and assured her that we didnt blame her as it was the 1st day of opening to customers inside restaurants - it was very very busy and she was the only 1 doing starters - personally I think there should have been 2 chefs on starters - 1 doing cold and 1 in charge of the deep fat fryer- Hannah (chef) don't worry it will get easier. It was also lovely to see Helene as well - the 2 H's are an excellent team. We wil be back very soon,

As always a great experience at the Warden Tavern we were greeted by Kerry with a lovely welcome back she made sure we all registered track and trace then showed us straight to our table letting us know Hanna would be our waitress. Hanna was amazing ( she always is! ) nothing too much trouble and such a good sense of humour which you need when it comes to our family! ... It was so lovely to see all the staff who all waved with big smiles as they passed our table. Everyone who works there looked as happy as we were to be back. Well done to all at the Warden Tavern your doing a fantastic all round job!

Its great to be back out again after lock down. The service was excellent Nicole was very polite and attentive . The meals were very good, the chicking curry was excellent. The filet steak was superb very tender. Very impressed with the Covid procedures

Booked the garden on Saturday as we could see it had reopened- our first visit back in over 6 months.. Very impressed with COVID measures, all efficient and easy to follow- managers very good at check in and explanations . Great garden , tables well spaced and all guests respectful of rules , plus a really good menu selection choice and prompt service despite it being busy. Fantastic staff as always despite the changed circumstances , service and attention to all guests still excellent. Particular thanks to Fiona and Hannah, who made our first afternoon visit back feel safe, welcoming and dealt with all drinks and food orders promptly with a smile . We will be back

Had a wonderful outdoor lunch date today. Service was excellent, and the food was spot on. Outdoor area is lovely and well distanced from other groups.

We visited The Warden for lunch after another lockdown, the food was lovely, covid procedures were fab, tables nicely spaced and had great service from all the staff, especially Helene & Nicole.

My husband and I went on 14th December before a change of Tier was announced. Exceptinal service in a near empty restaurant

What a wonderful friendly place to go..very covid safe..Went for a last min meal with family. was shown to table by Carl and served by Nicole. Who l must say was very friendly and very attentive...nothing was too much trouble.The steak was to die for...cooked to perfection...If you want a steak l find this is the best to go...never had a bad meal yet

Me and my partner visited tonight and was served by the wonderful fiona she made sure we had everything we needed and was very helpful all the staff are so friendly and always has been our go to we would recommend this place for anyone not just couples but familys too they can accommodate for everyone and its so sad see them closing again but was good to see everyone for one last time before and can't wait to re visit in the new year x

I came in with my dad for Saturday night meal. Felt totally relaxed and covid secure. Plenty of sanitiser stations throughout the restaurant and all staff wearing a face covering. Nice touch with the table dividers, they make the restaurant feel more private aswell as covid safe. Greeted at the door by Kyle who was very helpful and showed us straight to our table and then informed us that Helen would be our waitress. Helen came over to us a couple of minutes later and she was very smiley and chatty. Ordered our food which all arrived hot and in a quick space of time. Overall a very pleasant evening was had and we would fully recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for a safe and enjoyable evening out. Keep up the good work Kyle and Helen and well done to all the chefs also for providing us with lovely food as always.

We had a fantastic meal , always lovely food. Helen looked after us and made sure we had everything we needed. Always a pleasure to eat at the Warden. Felt very safe indeed.

Just enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Warden. We were served by Helene. Cheerful as always and knows what we want and how we have it. The vegan burger is the tastiest burger I have had. I recommend it even if you are not veggie. We eat at the Warden regularly because the service is excellent and we love the family atmosphere.

Helene was very pleasant and friendly and our steak meal was expensive and very good. Well done all staff coping with social distancing and keeping us safe.

Wide menu choices and an excellent meal when it was served. Hannah R(5032)provided (as always) a cheerful and timely table service making our experience really enjoyable on such a cold, wet, damp winters day.

Always love coming here we had a lovely meal served by Carl and Hannah the restraunt have dealt really well with the current guideline issues and we felt safe and happy with everything.

Went on the 3rd December no problem getting a table warm welcome when we got there and the food was cooked very nice my gammon steak was nice and soft.Hannah was very helpful made sure we had everything we wanted and made sure we where both ok very nice meal out.

We visited here on a saturday evening, all staff were wearing face masks and there were screens in place between all tables. We were served by a lady called Fiona, such a lovely lady, very friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and very tasty. Thankyou once again to Fiona for making our meal out enjoyable!

Last night was the 1st time we have been out for dinner since the summer. Food was lovely. We felt very safe being out for dinner at the warden. All the safety measures in place. Great customer service too. Our waitress Hannah was lovely. She was helpful and lovely to chat too.

I visited the Warden yesterday for my birthday and had an amazing birthday. Although I was not celebrating a special year I was made to feel very special indeed! After I got comfortable and was waiting for drinks Kyle the manager, Ali the duty manager and Helene our waitress came to my table with a birthday card, a bottle of wine and a beautiful little plant. They couldn’t sing happy birthday due to covid but clapped instead. They made a fuss of me through my meal and I also had a complimentary coffee. The meal was beautiful and the chef sent a sweet made from strawberries and chocolate with a birthday greeting. I am a regular visitor to the Warden where I am treated like family which is why I chose to go there for all my meals and celebrations. Back there tonight for Christmas dinner.

Enjoyed the warmth both in terms of the heat and the welcome. Hannah was her lovely friendly self and, as always, very personable. Service was good. Company good. Starters lovely. Burger lovely. Steak was a bit disappointing... bit fatty.

We went out to celebrate a family birthday meal - it is my step daughter's favourite place. The food was good. The company was funny and the service was great!It is always a delight when Hannah serves us - she has great interpersonal skills and is very efficient!

My family and I eat here regularly for family birthday celebrations. The food is tasty, good service. Helene, one of the regular waitresses served us this time. Booking on line is simple and efficient. I have already booked three meals here with friends in December after the lockdown.

Tonight me and my son dined at the Warden Beefeater as our last meal out before we enter the second lockdown. This has been our third visit since the previous lockdown and we are impressed with the level of safety measures still in place and being adhered to, which makes us feel very safe and comfortable whilst dining out. We had a wonderful roast dinner each which had very generous servings. We were served by Darren who was wonderful and very upbeat. Despite the fact the business will be closing in a few days due to the next lockdown, everyone working had a very positive manner ensuring they were providing the best service despite the uncertainty for all. We will be back when the next lockdown ends.

There were three of us and we all had beef - very tender and a delicious lunch, made all the better by our server, Maria B who always goes that little bit further and is willing to make small changes, such as a jacket potato instead of chips, to satisfy the customer. Examples include asking if we wanted more gravy, which we did, forgetting absolutely nothing and asking us about second drinks etc. - we were not let down.

Was out with some friends on Friday afternoon for for a early dinner. The food we had was very high standard one of us had the trio of fish which he enjoyed very much the other had the regular mix grill again this he enjoyed I myself went for the for the larger mix grill and then upgraded the steak to the 8oz sirloin. The meats were cooked well and to my liking. The only part I didn’t like was the smoked pork sausage but this was personal as I thought the flavour of the smoke sausage clashed with the other meats. We where well looked after with the waitress I believe her name was Helene. I will be returning to try out more of there menu.

Had a lovely evening great service from a really nice young man called Sam really professional but really nice chat with him. Food was spot on steak on my mixed grill was scrumptious will definitely be back again soon!

I have been to The Warden 3/4 times in the past two weeks with a both family and friends. As always the food was lovely, service impeccable and great value for money. All the staff are always so welcoming and will do anything for you. I have been recently served by Helene, Fiona and Hannah. And all have been superb.Highly recommended

I attended the Warden on Friday 23rd October. Everyone at the table mentioned the brilliant service from our waiter Darren (which is no suprise as many friends and colleagues of mine have also been served by Darren and have nothing but good things to say)I had an issue with my steak which the staff were more than happy to sort out. I would highly recommend the Warden and I was very impressed by the high standard of service from Darren, Kerry and the Friday night team.

Visited The Warden on Saturday evening, and it was a great decision. Hannah our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and friendly without being overbearing. She asked for feedback on one of the starters and was genuinely interested in our responses. We'll definitely return as the food was lovely.

Darnel looked after us and was amazing! Food was fab too! Very quick and have been great with keeping to regulations.

Came here for Sunday lunch with my dad (who has been several times before) and my 10 year old son and we were all very impressed.Decent choice on the menu and generous portions - especially the chips - and the food was lovely and cooked well.Helene, our lovely waitress, was very attentive, polite and friendly and made sure we were happy with everything throughout our visit.

Great service as always at The Warden. We had a great lunch this Friday. The food was fantastic. I enjoyed a beautiful piece of haddock with chips. We were served by Helene who made sure we had a great meal with everything we wanted. Helene was friendly and as pleasant as always and she, Kerry and the other staff treated us like family.

We went to the Warden to celebrate my daughter’s 15th birthday. The COVID regulations are being followed well and we felt very safe. It was very busy for a Thursday evening but we were served by a lovely waitress who was working incredibly hard. Well done Hannah!

With the covid situation we havent visited the Warden Tavern as much as usual this was only our second time since lockdown in March but as always when we walked in the door were greeted warmly this time by both Carl and Hanna ....Hanna was our waitress today (we love having Hanna) We are always looked after really well by her i dont think ive ever seen her without a smile on her face and if ever shes stressed she definitely doesnt show it! Hanna is very attentive nothing is ever too much trouble especially with me as im such a fussy person!! ( I think secretly the staff probably dread me walking in!!) More often than not we go in as a family me my Husband my Daughter her boyfriend and my Dad whos nearly 88 years old again Hanna is very good at coping with the fact that he is quite deaf! We enjoyed our meals cooked perfectly and nice and hot too which again is a big plus as my Dad has to have his food piping hot! If we had to grade our waitress in numbers Hanna would definitely get 10 out of 10! Thank you Hanna for always being a great waitress.

A warm welcome (as always) on a dull cold day. An excellent tasty meal served by Hannah (5082) who was extremely helpful re our menu choices . Covid19 arrangements were clearly available and explained if required. An enjoyable couple of hours.

We received friendly and great customer service from Hannah R. We did not wait long at all for our food. The meal was delicious, hot on arrival and large portions. 10/10 and we will definitely be returning.

The restaurant was quite busy for a Tuesday evening, but everything was clean and tidy with a pleasant atmosphere. i thoroughly enjoyed the smoked salmon and the fillet steak was grilled to a perfect medium rare, Fiona, my waitress was attentive and helpful.

We are regular customers but had been shielding for many months , so was looking forward to a meal out. Fiona was as welcoming as always and provided great service. However it was clear that 2 x large tables had booked next door to each other , with lots o mingling , standing at each others tables and generally causing unease for those around them. Made even more obvious by one man paying for both tables. Please Beefeater do keep an eye on this , other that that it was a good evening

4 of us ate here last week and as usual the staff were very welcoming. Plenty of hand sanitisers dotted throughout the restaurant and the service at tables was very good - the waitress put down a tray we our drinks/glasses onand we helped ourselves to avoid cross contamination . The same happened with the food. Excellent service. Social distancing also featured throughout the restaurant. The only problem was with my main course I ordered a Chicken burger (breast of chicken) - unfortunately this was charcoaled so much I couldn't cut it. I have to say that when I mentioned it apologies were sincere and I was offered another but as it would have meant waiting I declined and just had the remaining food on my plate (MY CHOICE) the full cost was taken off the bill and I was happy with this.In all the times that I have eaten here it was the 1st time that it had happened - . Helene G was our waitress and her professionalism is a credit to the managment - well done with your attitude we watched you interacting with other tables and although you were busy and on your own for a while your smile never slipped. We look forward to seeing you son

Have been here many times over the years, a bit of hit and miss really. Had to send the steaks back, totally charcoaled. Very slow service, took 2.5 hours wait before main meal was served, could be done to Covid and staffing but not ideal.

Just enjoyed a fish and chip lunch at the Warden. The food and service is as excellent as before. We were served by Helene who gave us a really warm welcome and served us a delicious meal with everything the way we like it. The warden have a great system in place for social distancing. Wonderful visit.

We went to celebrate my husband's birthday on Friday the 25th of September-we had a lovely evening with the family. Safety precautions were excellent. The evening was made special my NICOLE our waitress who was amazing!! Look after her Warden!
