The wait staff were lovely and kind but the food is really bad - feeling quite sick since having dinner there this evening. It is very expensive considering the quality of the food.

I contacted customer services but they haven't bothered to respond. Obviously not interested in customer satisfaction. I notice they do reply to good reviews though!

Super tasty good at this exceptionally busy location. By 17.45 there was already a queue up the staircase which is a positive sign, but it moved fast. Food was super tasty and just what I expected. A great location too and friendly staff which always helps!

We wanted a restaurant near the Old Vic and this one couldn’t get any closer. It didn’t look full but within 30 minutes of us sitting down the place was rammed, so probably best to book. We had a selection of small plates, and the food was extremely good. The portions are a decent size as well, so we left the restaurant very full! The service was good, with the staff very knowledgeable and accommodating. The prices are good considering the location and well worth it for the food delivered. Like a lot of restaurants, the beer selection is limited and a bit overpriced but that seems to be the norm now. I would visit this restaurant again and would thoroughly recommend it.

Fish tacos had chunky fish. Fresh salsa and tasty pork pil pil. Recommended special potatoes with corn under whelming though and quite cold.

We were travelling around Europe from Australia. We stopped into Wahaca as I wanted to have a nice birthday dinner. We approached the front desk and the manager was nice advising that as we didn’t have a reservation we needed to wait for a table but could sit at the bar and have a drink. We did so and within 10 mins were given a table. We were served by Cris who was very efficient, quick, lovely and patient with us as we took our time ordering. The food that arrived was amazing and we both loved our choices. Will defs visit again when we come back to London. Thank you to the staff for accomodating us without a reservation it made my night easier.

Good range of authentic Mexian Cuisine. Great tacos for a reasonable price. Food was cooked to perfect and had great flavour. Would recommend any of the tacos. The cocktails were great!

Very unhappy with the service. I asked for jalapeños and they responded in a very rude way saying they did not have any. I asked for food recommendations and the waiter did not seem he wanted to work there. We also had to wait for nearly 10 minutes for the waiter to bring the receipt to pay. On top of that we had to pay service charge. I will not come here again!

No one on meet & greet and when we were seated there was no one to serve us because all staff had to be in a meeting even though we said we were in a rush. It’s a shame because other Wahacq restaurants have provided great service. Additionally, when ordering the waiter didn’t have anything positive to say about the menu and put us off from ordering food.

The food over the years at Wahaca has continued to go downhill over the years and it continues this trend at this branch with there being very little chicken in the tacos! With it being really expensive for what it is The margaritas are good but expensive for what they are The staff then failed to deal with the bills and continued to spend 10 minutes trying to figure it out between 3 of them asking for more money originally by about £20 which honestly I wish we had removed the service charge after this At least the theming of the venue was nice 😊

Tasty food, reasonable prices, friendly staff. Only let down is it's very noisy in there when it's busy so you have to shout at each other when talking. Not sure what could be done about that though. We had a selection of dishes to share between two people: Beef Gringa Tacos, Pork Pibil Tacos, Cheese & Jalapeno Empanadas (from the daily specials), Alliloli Mushroom Quesadillas, Sweet Potato & Feta Taquito. Our favourites were the Beef Gringa Tacos and the Empanadas. Then we had a portion of Churros to share for dessert. They tasted good but they were very thin and not enough cinnamon/sugar on them.

To start we had to wait ages for the food when we asked what was going on the food arrived at least half of it and was cold we had to ask for the other half and clearly see that was confusions going on. Eventually we received the other half of the order and was the wrong food we didn’t say anything because we were starving. I decided to ask for the bill as we wanted to go somewhere else to eat that came within seconds. Very expensive place with no atmosphere the staff are inexperienced with no knowledge of customer service. Definitely not a place to go back plenty of other places in London that would love to take my money.

The night started really badly as my party got delayed on the train and arrived 13 minutes late for dinner. The table has been given away to another party, and the manager personally called my name to tell me off for not calling the restaurant to say I was late (there is no number on the reservation email, by the time I found the branch's number we were around the corner). When he called my name, I thought he would wish 'Happy Birthday' as I was there to celebrate with friends. So disappointing! However, the waiter really turned things around. She was really quick, attentive, and friendly. Food came quickly and was delicious ( I really recommended the fetta and sweet potato Platito), and the drinks also came quickly. There was always water at the table. Good Friday night out, after a bad start.

I went here on a Friday night and was shocked that last orders were being taken at 10pm instead of the normal 1030pm, and we were asked to leave by 1045pm while staff started to drink beers at a nearby table. Food and service were decent, but the sheer lack of professionalism at the end of the night has tainted my otherwise favourable impression of this chain.

Great meal. Nice and spicy. Atmosphere was fantastic, it was super buzzing and loud, we loved it. We had spicy margaritas, black coconut ice cream, lots of amazing tasting small plates. And lots of course more cocktails. It was a really fab time. Staff were lovely too, they managed to give us a table even though it was super busy and we hadn’t booked. Great night. Great food. Excellent casual dining for a family. My wife and I and our 10 year old son ate dinner here. Very good quality food and very good service made this a memorable dining experience for us. Very impressed with the Manager, Bradley who found us an excellent table. My favourite mid range restaurant. Never had a bad meal here.

Really great experience, kids (9 & 13) loved trying the different food which was all very well prepared. Adult's enjoyed the food too, Staff were very friendly and helpful. All round a great choice for a family meal.

Very disappointed. Server very happy and chatty but no sooner had he walked away a plate of food was delivered to my husband. It was cold and obviously meant for someone else. Then 1 of my 2 dishes arrived but no more. When I asked if all our food would be served separately I was told it's because it's served fresh. Don't other restaurants sell freshly cooked food where everyone eats together? Consequently we ate mostly separately so won't be rushing back

From the friendly greeting to the friendly farewell, Wahaca delivered (as it so often does) a really enjoyable lunch! I want to mention our server Rita, who was warm, attentive and knowledgeable. We started with the Mexico City Nachos - a large plate of tasty nachos to enjoy. This was followed by Pork Pibil (always a favourite), Beef Gringa, Sweet Potato Bravas, and the 'special of the day, cheese and jalapeno empanadas, all washed down with a couple of rather nice classic Margaritas. The food at Wahaca is always reliable, and so it proved today - really tasty, nicely presented and...well.. delicious. The empanadas deserve a special mention - they were crisp and flavoursome with just the right level of spicy heat. It would be great to see them as a regular item on the menu. Thanks to the whole team, and especially Rita, for a delicious lunch!

So I should start this by saying I loved Wahaca. As someone who lived in Mexico it was damn close to authentic Mexican food. WAS. Last night I grabbed a quick bite at Waterloo branch. Had to send the tortilla chips back as they were stale. Ordered the Chicken Enchildas (they're sort of Enchildas Suizas). Ordered a margarita. The Enchiladas were not hot. Sort of luke warm at best. And as for the margarita. I don't know how much of that is actual alcohol but I suspect not much. And for the SECOND time in going there I ended up barely making it home before exploding. You may say "second time??!". But as I said. I really liked it. Don't go. Not any more. The food is bad and apparently poisonous to one's bowels. The drinks are weak and the whole thing is massively expensive. £40 for dinner for one? Not for that food. Not anymore. Stay away.

We were going to the Old Vic so popped in here for a meal beforehand. Incredibly quick - we were in and out in 40 mins!! Noisy and very close to other customers as it was so full. You pay by the code on the table so no asking for the bill. We chose 4 smaller plates to share beef gringa, chicken quesadillas, cauliflower bites and sweet potato and feta taquito with a beer and smoothie. Very tasty but quite rich . Approx £45

We found this gem of a restaurant by chance and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The service was outstanding, the food was faultless, the ambience and atmosphere was fun and inviting. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and attentive. We chose a selection from the street food menu and we loved every mouthful.

I hadn’t visited wahaca for years (I used to go once a week!) I was craving their pork pibil taco so went for that. Great service. I would have ordered more food but the taco wasn’t soggy so put me off and now they charge for the sauces that used to be complimentary! It satisfied my craving.

Our experience in Wahaca Waterloo was 10/10. The food was amazing, you can taste the different flavours from Mexico and the freshness in the ingredients. But what made our experience outstanding is the staff who served us. Our waitress, Gaby, was helpful and very attentive, and Javier was super friendly and welcoming and made our experience fun and more enjoyable than already was !! Will definitely come back :)

I had the most amazing experience from the staff, in special from Javier (manager site) and Gabi (staff) were an extra mile with the service and very friendly. Besides the food which it was extremely good and fresh as usual. I will definitely come again with friends. Excellent!

Wahaca is one of my favorite restaurants to eat in. It was my first time in Wahaca Waterloo and it didn’t disappoint!! Food as fresh as usual, tasty and great quality. But what made our experience wonderful was the warm, friendly and welcoming staff. Gaby served us and she was knowledgeable and helpful, and Javier, the manager was super friendly, made our evening fun and we will definitely come back to visit him again. Thank you so much

I recently dined at Wahca Mexican Restaurant and had a mixed experience. First and foremost, I want to commend our server, Kinga. She was incredibly friendly and went out of her way to make us feel happy and relaxed. Her service was fast, efficient, and truly made our dining experience enjoyable. The restaurant itself was clean and nicely decorated, providing a comfortable atmosphere to enjoy our meal. Unfortunately, the food itself was somewhat average. While it was not bad, it lacked the zest and authenticity I typically look for in Mexican cuisine. In summary, if you're in the area and in need of a quick bite, Wahca could be a suitable choice, thanks mainly to the delightful staff like Kinga. However, the food might not meet the expectations of a true Mexican food enthusiast.

31st July Business lunch. We didn’t know very well the area and we decided to jump in this restaurant. After a poor service, a long wait we experienced poisoning from the food which included tortillas, tacos and burritos plus cocktails. For two of us ( we were three) the day after due to fever and stomach pain was a sick day! Never anymore of course !

Nice enough place. Food was good but when it came to paying the bill with the QR for mutual ease. The tip was added automatically and couldn't be removed without asking. Not a fan.

We love Wahacas! I didn't have a reservation but they were still able to seat us and a toddler (it was a Monday Night however). We had the favourites platter which was all amazing food. It's quite child friendly and accommodated us with high chairs and colouring. It can get a little noisy but still love this place. You can pay via a QR code on the table which is incredibly easy when you want to leave.

Also they warned us after ordering that it may not come at the same time but (let's call them person 1&2) Person 1&2 order food at the same time Person 1 gets their food Person 1 finished and orders more Person 1 gets this new food The table get our starter Then after around 20 mins Person 2 gets their food. The place was very quiet too, but I do understand why it happened, just putting it out there that it isn't the most sociable place to eat. But the food was lovely!!!

Maten var god, servicen var i utgangspunktet også god, men da vi ikke mottok påfyll av nachos etter å ha bedt to ulike servitører om dette så ga vi opp. Noe av maten er veldig sterk, og det burde kommet frem av menyen. Lokalet føltes mer som en kantine enn en restaurant.

Just had a great lunch at Wahaca. Javier and Kinga were excellent hosts. The restaurant is right next to Waterloo station and had great seating options and lots of atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back soon!

Compared to our other dining experiences while visiting London, this was by far the worst for servers, service and cleanliness. For a starter we ordered bottomless tortilla chips and guacamole. The waitress then disappeared for the next 20 minutes. Our main courses then came 15...

Usual Wahaca Fare - bit odd that I arrived for a late lunch, said I was waiting for a friend to arrive, but the staff were very keen that I should sit at a miniscule table. They did eventually seat me at a larger table...

The service and food were fantastic! I highly recommend the chicken tacos, the spicy sauce on it was awesome and I wanted it on everything. Wish we had a location in the states.

Food was excellent, service/kitchen lost our order somewhere in the evening rush but gave it to us on the house without questions. Sign of good host! Ambience in the main bit isn't as nice as the Southbank Wahaca as it's a bit of a cellar but the front area is very cute.

Tried the horchata but sadly it was watery and too sweet.
