Brighton local. Been here twice and both times the service has been horrific. The first time - went as a group of 4. I am well aware food comes out at different times but 3 of my friends had been served and FINISHED their meals before mine had even arrived. The second time, we received our calamari 20 minutes after FINISHING our mains - at that point we just sent it back as no longer wanted it. Both times the waiting staff were difficult to get ahold on and really inattentive. Eaten at lots of Wagamama chains before but never experienced service this bad. Will never be going back to brighton branch.

Mixed feelings about Wagamama. The food was absolutely gorgeous and for a pretty reasonable price. However, the waiter took ages to come to us, the food all came out at different times and the front door was open and we all got pretty cold. Would come back though.

This was the first time using this brighton wagamama and I can honestly say it was rubbish compared to others I have eaten at The chicken was so dry there was a very big shortage of sauce and when we ask the staff for a bit more sauce as it was so dry they charged it to out bill I did refuse to pay for the sauce as this should have come with the dried out chicken meal eventually they took it off the bill Won't be eating at that branch again

I took some friends out for a meal in Brighton Wagamamas and the service by our waitress Emma was brilliant! She was able to recommend the birthday girl a main dish and desert, it came out quickly and she loved it! I was very happy with the prices and overall the experience was great, we will be coming again asap. I highly recommend the mini fish bites on the kids menu if you want a few starters and a small main too.

Started off ok, friendly staff member kept the queue informed that there was a slight wait, due to a change over of staff. Seated by another friendly staff member, who was understanding about leg space (recovering from knee operation). My order was taken by another staff member, that was fine. Then the chaos started.... My drinks arrived, glass of water, diet Coke with a red hot glass. Obviously just out of the dishwasher. Being clean, great. But to serve a red hot glass with a cold drink, no. While waiting for my food / looking on my phone, i did notice a staff member telling two other members too stop chatting, twice. Waited 25 minutes to finally get my main. Should have sent it back. The whole meal was barely warm, let alone the plate. Waited to get someone's attention, no one came near or came back to see if everything was OK. After finishing my main, the guy who took my order asked if i was waiting for a side. Which i was. Another good five minutes passed by, then my side arrived. No idea what's going on here. I fully understand how this place works. But to leave knowing it was another disappointing visit isn't good. I literally should have gone to Wetherspoons. I use to love this place, but I've gave this restaurant so many chances, sadly no change. I've visited Wagamamas all over the place, yet the Brighton one is recently always disappointing. Some of the staff were very friendly / cheery, but that's no good if the food / service is rubbish.

My son had never been to Wagamama's before so I wanted him to experience it, and he loved it. The mini Ramon was a lovely treat. He also liked the ladle spoon for the noodle juice, though he slurped it a bit. lol If you order a soft drink for the kids, or for yourself, get the apple juice, it's pure joy. The kids menu was easy to understand, and the kids chopsticks were also a nice touch for those who've not used proper chopsticks B4. Other restaurants could learn a lot from this type of family restaurant, as many others don't offer crayons, drawing picture paper and games. The reason for the drop from 5 star to 3 star on the food is that I said I didn't like spicy food and they gave me spicy food. (They did replace it but obviously this should of been avoided in the first place.) Overall, good. Paying was also made very easy by scanning a QR code on the table mats and simply paying without the need to wait for your waiter to come back to you. (Again this is another trick other restaurants could learn from.)

Not a welcoming experience. Dined at 7.30 pm staff were clearing the tables of condiments , cutlery and mats. Customers had to ask for them to be returned. No one came to ask if we needed more drinks and the dessert menu never arrived. Not the usual standard.

We went for my little sister, 17th birthday and Jack, our waiter was absolutely lovely. He was very helpful when it came to recommending dishes and also gathered some of the staff to come and sing happy birthday to her. Throughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you again Jack.

Disappointed with Wagamama, the food was really disappointing and it came out in a weird order. The duck bao buns were awful, just mass produced abs very little filling nothing like the photo. Curry was ok, pad Thai was all chicken and 3 prawns. It was very busy but that's not an excuse for the food overall being really average. Service was good.

Unusually poor service tonight. Wasn't too busy but was taking ages for one main course and side to come. Then on asking could see staff seemed baffled, then after a mini-staff meeting held at one of their machines, realised it had somehow been missed off the list for the kitchen to prepare?!?! Then had to wait again for both dishes to arrive. Not great when others have their food and you've got another appointment to get to so this really spoiled my dining experience tonight.

I wanted to write something on the absolute 5* service, and food delivered at Brighton Wagamama. I recently broke my ankle and am struggling in terms of mobility. As wanting to eat at Wagamama, and knowing you are unable to pre book, I took a chance to phone ahead. I was greeted by Eden, who was a real star, she advised that owing to the circumstance, she would indeed hold one of the booth tables rather than struggle along one of the long benches. As promised, when I arrived, the table was ready, the staff were 110%, warm, inviting, friendly and personable. We had perfectly presented dishes cooked to perfection. Could not fault this visit and the staff team who accommodated us without fuss. A huge thank you to Eden, who came over to our table to ensure all was good for us. She was as lovely as her phone manner earlier. A mention too, for Isaac, who was a noticeable asset to the team, how he engaged with customers, especially a young boy with his Father did not go un noticed. Thank you to all.

There was only one person receiving guests, taking orders and serving. Waited for good 8 minutes to be seated. Wok fried greens, bang bang cauliflower, and chicken yakitori was good. Chill squid came with my main which is fine but it was cold and gone hard. Shu shock chicken with rice was barely warm...so didn't enjoy my meal. I don't blame the waiter because he was running around like a headless chicken. In the past I've eaten at wagamamas in Bristol, Southampton, Winchester. I've never been disappointed 😞 Today wasn't good. Disappointed 😞😞😞

Reasonably priced and quite tasty Asian Fusion. Tonnes of vegetarian and vegan options. Had been avoiding Wagamama as assumed it was a standard UK chain experience. Pleased to say that the food exceeded my expectations. As a vegetarian I was also impressed by the range of vegetarian and vegan options - definitely a good choice if you like a range of dishes to choose from. I'm not a fan of long tables with different groups but that's the vibe here - would prefer stand alone tables and booths but maybe that's personal preference. I also understand the idea behind 'dishes coming out as they're prepared' but would prefer if they prioritised entrees and starters over mains as our mains arrived before one of our starters. Felt like food overload with all dishes and drinks on the table at the same time. Highlights for me were the Sake, Vegan K-Dogs and the Bang Bang Cauliflower which was excellent. Would come here again. 👍

Food was good however there was a hair in my food this was removed from the bill without asking so props to isaac, had to chase up the salad as this takes longer to cook than a katsu curry... apparently. Was then given a dirty glass, when I asked for a new one I was told "it's just watermarks darling" ... very condescending and was also most definitely not watermarks. I pointed out the bits of food stuck on the glass. One rude server ruined the meal, didn't catch her name.

An incredibly frustrating experience. Being amongst so much chaos and seemingly inexperience of how to work in a restaurant displayed by most staff. The queue being around the corner outside of the restaurant - yet seeing staff wondering around inside and a minimum of 10 available seats at all times - it took us 35 minutes to be seated. Another 15 to be acknowledged by AB to place an order of whom I had to wave at him as he wandered around. The drinks didn’t come for some while - a tap water and green tea isn’t really a big ask. I don’t usually name bad service but on this occasion training and focus is needed to do a basic level of customer service / the job your employer to do. The bao arrived cold and fortunately I got the attention of a gent who was taking the order of the people next to us - perhaps the only one here who knows his job. New bao delivered within 2 mins which was great. We really love wagas normally for the efficiency and food however today was just laughable experience. The whole journey was Im personable, unprofessional and a shambles. I would have said this to someone’s face or the manager had I be able to catch anyone’s eye during our 2 hours!!!! To get lunch. Paid on the app as was quicker than watching the waiters just slowly placing menus and walking around not seemingly knowing what they’re doing.

Very mixed reviews with this wagamamas... LOVE japanese and thai food so decided to pop in with the family to see what wagamamas had to offer !! Sadly no booking options available so had to hope that wasn't too full 🙄. After waiting about ten minutes in the cramped entrance to be seated.... (much to the disappointment of my poor feet..!) We were placed next to a particularly LOUD group of individuals and given menus. One thing I DID NOT like was how close together everything was... AND THE NOISE?? Too loud..!! Clearly these people had never heard of "personal space" ?..! Anyway, I digress...., we ordered and our starters and drinks came VERY quickly, yay..! Very scrummy food, OUT OF THIS WORLD SMOOTHIES,, we were BLOWN AWAY by the crispy duck wraps and chilli squid, absolutely bursting with flavour and so crispy !! We finished and left no crumbs 🥰🥰 However .... Our main courses were all given to us separately ?? Not ideal.! About half an hour wait for mine...?! I only ordered the "RAMEN"? 🤔 Also not keen on being able to see the chefs while they slave away which is slightly off-putting. Some looked on the verge of mental breakdown, others sweating away into food which was probably my poor unsuspecting, forever-anticipated ramen!!! 😮 Staff were quite pleasant and we're very attentive with my child's gluten free needs 😃 BUT DIDN'T GIVE US ANY CUTLERY..?! I HAD TO TAKE SOME FROM ANOTHER TABLE ....? Despite all this, I very much enjoyed my ramen it was delish...!! (when it eventually arrived) Food 10/10, service 5.

After a truly abysmal visit to Horsham Wagamamas, we were offered a gift voucher. Vowing never to return to Horsham, we opted for Brighton. It was exceptionally busy, & our only criticism was that it was REALLY noisy. Steph & Lucy (I think) were helpful, professional & gave very good Custumer service when we asked to move tables further back & to advise us of my very late meal, & trying to use the voucher, which was overly complicated. Credit to the team, thank you 🙏🏻

Delicious food. Free green tea is a nice bonus. Nice place, good food, nice service, affordable prices. The downside is that it can get very noisy here, and the noise level is so high that conversation becomes difficult. The layout resembling a cafeteria doesn't allow for an intimate atmosphere. We've been here many times. We've tried different dishes. Everything has always been tasty.

We enjoy the food at Wagamama, but the service on our last two visits has been chaotic. When ordering the server does say that dishes may arrive separately, which is fine, so long as they generally turn up within a reasonable timeframe. On our previous visit, the two main dishes arrived within a couple of minutes of each other. Our two side dishes turned up (after chasing with the server) about 15 minutes later, just a we had finished our mains. Today, a couple sitting next to us, ordered after us, and had been served and were half way through their meals before the first of our dishes arrived. My dish arrived even later, after my partner had almost finished his meal. We left thinking, well, good food, but whatever system they have in the kitchen is a shambles that really needs sorting out.

Sad to say after visiting on Sunday this was the worst Wagamama’s meal we have ever We have eaten this normally delicious food all over the uk The chicken katsu was dry n over cooked Also the two other meals also were steak and that was also dry and tasteless First time I have ever had a bad experience in Wagamama I hope this is a one off . To add insult to injury both myself and my guest paid for the same meal I by card he on the qr code sadly the manger said she couldn’t refund either of us .and I believe my guest will not get a refund for 5 days . Most bazaar, I know a refund absolutely can be done on a card payment . So beware diners is this a in house scam hoping you don’t get a refund .

It was our first visit to Wagamamas Brighton, it has always been our favourite restaurant so we always try to locate a branch when traveling, You can usually tell the type of service you receive when the food arrives before the drinks, and then the waiter notices I haven't got my meal when my partner has almost finished his. The menus were filthy, I'd assume once you order and they collect the menus that they would be checked for cleanliness before handing out to the next customer. The staff were friendly, it was a holiday visit so we probably won't visit again.

I ate here yesterday and was worried I couldn’t eat anything as I am allergic to wheat and milk. I was happily suprised that they had a gluten free menu which had a lot of options on, and they sat down with me and worked out which meals also didn’t have milk in. I went for the chicken and prawn pad Thai and it was delicious! I was so happy with how helpful they were, and will definitely go back☺️

So yesterday we visited Wagamama in Brighton , we had a few takeaways and we were not happy so we thought we visit in person. First of there was a problem because apparently we got allergy not listed on their system so they didn't want to know , manager was saying " we cant tell a chef about it" shocking !!!! then food arrived all at once !!!! appetizer , ramen and another meal so we ended up having loads of food at our table. Noone asked us if we are enjoying our food , if all is ok as we were always asked in the other wagamama restaurants , atmosphere is odd , overcrowded restaurant . On my last visit - I had a couple of starters, which set my mouth on fire. This time I had vegan bao buns which made me feel sick, the smell was a little off putting and the bao dough not right at all, seemed undercooked and falling apart. I had a bite and it was also very bland. I had a side of prawns which were very greasy and the sauce was way too hot.... I was advised they don't have a mild or sweet chilli sauce. I could be wrong but I thought the bill looked a little off as the vat seemed to be added on after. I told the server that the bao buns were not nice and he went away, then came back and offered me a free drink, just as we were packing up to leave. I declined, as I wasn't prepared to keep others waiting or buy another round of drinks just to get one for free. I have been to Wagamamas many times over the years and some time ago they stopped the tofu noodle dish I use to enjoy, also my partner has had a long hair in his katsu curry... So this review is long overdue. It's a shame they have resorted to dowsing their food in hot sauce to try and give it some flavour. I will be avoiding from now on, it's not cheap and I won't keep throwing money down the toilet when I can make better at home. The stars are because someone I was with enjoyed their food and the server seemed to be trying his best.

My boyfriend and I spent over £45 on a dish each, a cola each and a very small starter. He got chicken ramen and I had teriyaki chicken rice bowl. I ate barely more than a few mouthfuls of mine as the chicken was extremely dry and completely under seasoned, it tasted old like supermarket chicken. His ramen was equally dry and lacking any kind of flavour. The worst part was that we actually paid for the food as was offered no refund after complaining.

The experience started off fantastically. Charlie, our table attendant arrived promptly; was super friendly and took our drinks and main course orders quickly. (Giving requested guidance, on request). The four of us were really impressed with our restaurant find (including one very happy vegan). Yay, Wagamamas - what a great place. THEN it went downhill faster than a n alpine landslide. We were left sitting at our table with finished main course plates (to be clear, some had efficiently been cleared quickly) but not those who had finished after. This was the end of the honeymoon stage. We sat, and we sat and we sat. The restaurant emptied out from buzzing and full to sparse (we are talking 8.30 - 9.00 pm - Bank Holiday Weekend.). Everything we needed required a call-out to a (not-busy) waiter - such as water, extra glass of wine; dessert menu. This was the worst bit... on an adjacent table, while we were waiting (forever) for someone (maybe the enthusiastic original Charlie?) to come and ask us what dessert we wanted - sat some members of staff - laughing happy (pleased for you) - eating a meal. Picture the scene. Customers sitting waiting for order for food; staff eating at next table). Most of us humans are kind and know that staff need food too - but this timing was unbelievable.... it was like us, on the adjacent table, sitting there, were invisible. So now we have an almost empty restaurant; quite a lot of staff clearing up condiments or eating and us, still sitting there. What a real disappointment. Wagamamas provides delicious food; (I really enjoyed the vegan curry.. thanks chefs - you saved the day) but the one in Brighton needs some proper management to oversee the service. Really, this is some of the worst, disrespectful service I have received in a very long time. It started so promisingly and ended so disappointingly. PS, I asked a member of staff what went wrong and he told me that because it had gone suddenly quiet, they sent members of staff home so ended up understaffed. Wagamama - no wonder you were quiet. Chefs - your food is great; Managers - get the staff to give the service the food-providers deserve. What as waste and what a perfect example of terrible management.

I went her with young kids and was shocked at the lazy service and overpriced tasteless food - waiters / waitresses were too good for the job they’re suppose to be doing and food poor quality and vastly over priced- it was noticed that they’d increased the prices for the school summer break to exploit families ! Avoid .

One of the worst meals I've had out (duck donburi). The duck looked less "shredded" and more like it had been savaged off the bone and beaten with a rolling pin. The flavours were off, the texture was bad. The rice was not sticky white rice as it would be in a Japanese donburi. Would not return.

We have had to queue outside before, but as the weather was foul, we had no problem in getting a table for 3. Jack served us with good humour and discussed coriander being the devil's food with us. Our meals were nice and hot and served in a timely fashion. For those of you who have never been to a wagamamas before, each dish comes out when it's ready, so don't expect all dishes at the same time. Will define going back again.

When we ordered, we were told that the meals may not come out together. However, we were not expecting my granddaughter to have to wait 25 minutes after I received mine. There is something wrong with the system. There should NEVER be more than 5 minutes between meals served at the same table. The food was enjoyable. To give the staff their due, after several complaints, we had profuse apologies and we were given free desserts.

Been here twice ordered ramen gyoza both the times. The ingredients didn't match to what the menu said, the egg was missing the first time and the veggies were missing the second times. Poor service took 25 mins to get the food and almost the same time for the bill. Never sit in the cubical if you are a couple or alone. Overall the worst outlet of Wagamama

Ordered 4 dishes. The only one that didn't seem to be an entry for Britain's worst dish was the 13 pound chicken and prawn cha han, which contained about 2 pounds worth of ingredients. The red onion ( 3 pieces uncooked and hacked into quarters) looked like it was chopped by a blind axeman using a blunt axe (do we call it rustic?). One piece of pepper cut in a similar fashion and then a measly serving of the protein and a quarter cup of rice. I would love to see the GP on this dish. Must make management very happy. This was the highlight since it tasted ok and was just above body temperature when served. From here we decend into Dante's next level of food hell. The 4 Chicken skewers came out luke warm, for the first 2, graduating down to fridge cold for the other 2. Like they were taken out of the fridge and left by the radiator for five minutes before serving. The squid was cooked well enough and was a good serving temperature. Unfortunately it seems it was seasoned by at least 3 chefs leaving it tasting like the salty part you find at the bottom of a bag of crisps. The low light however, was the dumplings. Not sure how these were prepared. I can hazard a guess though. Taken out the night before and left on the counter top. Cooked early in the morning and then left in the sun to be served at whatever temperature that made them. The dumplings were left with the texture (and flavour?) of grandad's toe nail clippings. I don't want to mention what part of grandad they looked like, I wouldn't want to spoil your dinner, unless you plan to eat at wagamama, in which case I can't present you an image more off putting than the food itself. There is no way anyone competent checks the food before it is tossed out of the kitchen to be fed to the masses. I also had a beer, which they managed not to mess up, presumably because the chef wasn't involved. The staff were nice enough and refunded the skewers, but we didn't ask for a refund on the rest as we were hungry enough to eat what we were given. Zero stars

Came here with 4 friends for some early lunch , and were greeted with blank stares - not very accommodating . Throughout our experience, there was no sense of hospitality. Staff seemed bored and miserable. I was rather upset to have some meals slammed down on the table. Luckily, the food was somewhat satisfactory and decent portion sizes. Just let down by the lack of welcoming and positive interaction and service.
