Wagamama in Cardiff

Popped into Wagamamas with my mum whilst Christmas shopping as has become our tradition. My mum has had spinal surgery and found the seating very uncomfortable. When I asked our waitress Jennifer if we could move to a padded seat she informed us that there were no padded seats. However Jennifer collected a sculpted seat from the outside eating area and replaced the bench style seat for us making my mother much more comfortable. We always receive a brilliant service from wagamamas Cardiff library and the food is always delicious but this extra care from staff today impressed us greatly.

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE 🫶 Used a student code and got £60 worth of food for two people down to £20 each after using noodle union. Staff were super lovey and sweet. Had the new vegan k-dogs which were delicious. Literally loved the whole experience. Incredible work Cardiff Wagamamas special shout out to Sean our waiter who was just superb ❤️❤️❤️

First I want to mention the very nice and friendly staff. People were very polite and lovely explaining everything (special drinks, payment etc). We were already at a different Wagamama some time ago so we knew what to expect. Food is good, not outstanding fantastic, but good. Also not cheap but still ok. What I personally don't like too much is when there is quite loud music while eating, it's just not a great atmosphere to sit and have a chat, but I know this is the concept so I don't rate that overall.

Staff were helpful and polite and the food was great. Will not be returning as no longer accepting cash.

We come to Cardiff every year after the Royal Welsh Show, and have walked by many times, but never came in. None of the restaurants on St. Mary Street looked interesting this year, so we came in for Ramen. We were promptly greeted and seated. The restaurant filled up quickly. We both enjoyed the shirodashi pork belly ramen. A tasty and filling meal. Enjoyed very much!

Having been to a couple of different Wagamamas in the past, although not for a year or two I was a little disappointed and underwhelmed. My son ordered a steak teriyaki soba which was ok, but not the best I’ve had here. My beef brisket ramen was spicy, but not in a nice way. Just like it had lots of chilli or pepper thrown in. The flavours weren’t amazing and it was all in a bowl of oily water. I didn’t love it. It was edible but not really tasty. When we first arrived we were told (as you always are) that the dishes will not arrive together. Fine. But the restaurant was pretty empty and I’d finished my main before my son’s meal arrived. A good 15 minutes apart when we’d ordered only two things in a very quiet restaurant! How hard is it to bring them out closer together? How do other restaurants manage?! It was almost like it’s being done on purpose and it’s put me off. Not massively cheap, service was friendly enough but average food and a long wait for one dish probably explains why the place was 1/4 full on a Friday night.

We visited the restaurant yesterday, the food and service was first class. The man who dealt with us was Alex and he was so helpful, polite and so lovely. Thank you. PS - we also loved his Adidas trainers 😂

I went with my husband and daughter. My food tasted lovely so it's a shame there was hardly any chicken. My husband ordered an Americano with his food and it looked like an espresso as the cup was so small. We ended up having to go into the Tesco Express afterwards to buy more food as all felt unsatisfied. Wouldn't go back or recommend.

I often dine at this buzzing and friendly restaurant for the full Wag-tastic experience, but I also enjoy their unique food at home via Deliveroo. Everything comes properly sealed and packaged in microwaveable containers and they have put the option of the more nutritious brown (wholegrain) rice back on the Deliveroo menu. (NB: Please always fold the the bag over before sealing - this keeps the dishes MUCH hotter. Thanks.) However, I was disappointed that they took Carrot Juice off their Deliveroo menu - this is one of the most underrated but healthiest of all juices. Please reinstate it or ask Head Office to do this.

I came here Friday night with my mum and two year old nephew. The food was amazing but our server Meghan was the lovliest lady and she was so patient and friendly with my nephew when he kept wanting her to colour with him / show her his dinner etc. She was also really good with my mum who has recently had a brain injury so can get very confused and overwhelmed but she was so patient and kind and answered all her questions (which was a lot!). Thank you Meghan, you’re an asset to them!

Second time here and was superb again. Staff were great.knowledgeable and attentive.Food really nice too.If I were to be picky the option of lemonade instead of tonic in a g and t should be easy to swap without having to buy a Sprite on top for four quid odd.Just swap the mixers.Simples.

Great food, fantastic service. They were extremely busy with queues outside but we waited around 5 minutes max before seated. A Greek lady looked after us, sorry I didn’t catch her name, but she was super but so was everyone. Food was delicious. Well done all.

Best Wagamama I’ve been to, first one I’ve been to where the waitress explained that the steak was medium rare, and that the food comes out when ready not all together if I had been told that previously at other Wagamamas I would of not thought the service was that bad so I suggest all team members from other stores do the same especially the ones in London. Waitress was new but was brilliant best we have had and just friendly staff overall someone making sure they was saying bye and checking all was ok on departure. Great food and great staff if I return to Cardiff will definitely go back

Since being here last time I have noticed a much broader choice in vegan/vegetarian options that is fantastic. Also the restaurant is considering environmentally friendly alternatives. Waitresses were always around and happy to help.

Came here before Christmas, couldn't wait to come back, had a great meal, they seated eight of us with no problems. Had the duck donburi again, fabulous flavours everyone else in the party polished off their dinner's will be back soon keep it up

First time visit on Monday, using a Christmas voucher, Interesting layout with long benches instead of seperate tables.Didn't know what to expect as far as the food was concerned so let the waiter suggest for us. Nice starter of a Chicken Kebab and the Nico Curry for the main course, Very tasty with just the right ammount of spice. Had the chocolate and Ginger Cheesecake for dessert, really was delicious. Great atmosphere. Wonderful staff. So helpful. But we couldn't understand why there was no alternative milks other than Soya, which wasn't organic. They have a great choice of vege and vegan food, but their milk alternatives were very much lacking. Soya milk has to be organic to be healthy, otherwise research has shown its not healthy at all. So we found another place for coffee which had altenrative milks. Such a shame.I so hope they change their policy.

It’s a while since I’ve eaten at Wagamama and it’s good to see some new dishes on the menu. I tried the Nitto curry with sea bream which was excellent. Service in Cardiff branch was quick and friendly. Also pleased that the chain is supporting mental health.

Took son here after watching Italy match and it was first class. Sitting in a bench is never my fave place but it works ok here. H had ramen and tori age chicken - latter superb. I had healthy naked option, really filling and delish washed down with kimchi. Great place, quick service, price not too steep.

I called early on a very busy Saturday - Wales were playing Italy in the 6 Nations.I didn't have to wait long before I was given a table.Opted for the duck gyoza and the firecracker chicken which was very tasty and spicy. Went twice over the course of a weekend break, once with friends and once with just myself and my partner. Staff were friendly, food arrived pretty quickly even when the place was more busy, and it tasted great. Never been before but we really enjoyed our food was cooked fresh and was so tasty will definitely be going again.

This branch is right next to the St David centre which as you would expect means its very busy. On the occasions I have been here I have had to queue for a table which is OK but then it seems to lack staff and the service has always been very slow, something which is unusual for Wagamamas. Food consistent though.

Me and my partner went for lunch today and both ordered 2 different types of ramen, they were both tasteless and no flavour. When asked how our meals were we were honest and said we weren't very happy and did not enjoy it. All we were granted to have was a free drink or a desert, still had to pay full price for a meal I wouldn't have served my dog. Thank you tremendously

Really good food at great value. Had to wait to be seated but were given menu’s to browse. Once seated, our order was taken straight away and drinks came only 2 mins later. Food came quickly too. Our server Kelly was very friendly and helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed! Would highly recommend!!

I had the kare buroso (sorry something like that!) off the vegan menu and it is out of this world I often feel getting a vegan meal is the same old combos and a bit lacklustre but this is not the case here the tofu was crispy on the outside and silky soft on the inside the mushrooms were delish and the broth was incredibly tasty. I never finish a bowl of ramen but it was too tasty to leave. I had some gyoza for starters which were also nice but it really was the main course that stood out. It’s really great how vegan friendly they are and I think the dishes are even better than those with animal products in them. Really great place for people of all diets.

After a complete shambles trying to get a curry we ended up here..excellent service..we're seated in 5 mins..waiter was excellent..as it was our first visit he explained how it all worked..food was great..duck pancakes and satay chicken starter..I had katsu chicken for main.. it was very nice..all 4 of us really enjoyed our meals...Will be trying the one in Southampton now I'm home to compare

We were seated quickly and was served in good time. The food was also very nice. However our waiter Zak was exceptional. One of our guests split some of their ramen over them and he was quickly over with some wipes and offered to bring us another ramen at no cost. Although we declined as there was enough if the dish there he still came over with another bowl of broth in case the ramen was dry. A real credit to the restaurant

Visited for a quick lunch on Saturday and we were seated very quickly despite it being quite busy. The food was excellent. Personally, I always enjoy Wagamama’s and this visit didn’t fail! I had the Beef teriyaki which is great!

Visité aquí con mi pareja y como lo pasamos de maravilla! ¡Ambos pedimos ramens conmigo y conseguí el tofu vegano y mi compañero el pan de cerdo! Ambos realmente los amaron y pensaron que también nos daríamos un gusto a las verduras tempura, que de nuevo era realmente encantadora con trozos masivos de verduras y salsa de chile. El servicio y el ambiente también eran geniales! ¡Se sintió realmente lleno!

If you've been to Wagamama's before you know what to expect when it comes to the food. Personally I love it - as a vegan there are quite a few options. So the unknown is the staff. We had an excellent service here, very attentive and polite, and the food as good as always.

Superb lunch at Wagamama. Super friendly and efficient staff. Large portions of of very fragrant and flavourful Ramen noodles. Good prices,great food, superb sevice and warm atmosphere. What more to ask for? Nothing

After a full day of shopping and catching up over a coffee,we decided that we were all hungry and needed something with tasty and nutritional,we opted for Wagamama as we all adore Japanese food ,the waitress was friendly polite and officiant,the food was served promptly and our food consisted of starters ,cauliflower,gyozas,duck pancakes followed by a noodle dish and fire cracker chicken with rice ,we had fruit smoothies and sparkling water ,we have been here a few times over the years and have always enjoyed a good experience will return in the future

manager need serious training on how to advise and treat customers. people with allergies know what they can eat and shouldn't be made to feel a nuisance when asking about allergens. will not be visiting this branch especially when the 'advice' given by manager is wrong.

Went to Cardiff for the day and as it was getting near teatime my friends fancied a Japanese restaurant so my friend walked in and asked do you do gluten free and do you have a menu for this there reply was i dont now i not got any ideas what this so we left. Then on to Wagamama boy am i glad i came to this place we where met by a lady called May( i think that was her name) we asked about being gluten free and she produced a menu for us and she went out of her way to make sure that i got the right food plus she was attentive but not in your face always checking if i was ok and everything was fine. This lady went above and beyond to make sure everything was good if you have a gluten intolerance then go to wagamamas in Cardiff you will not be disappointed you will great service i for one know if i am in Cardiff this is where i will be going. So a very big thank you to May for your wonderful service.

Went in with no notice with 10 people. They accommodated is straight away and even had a gluten free specific menu for our GF a friend. They made sure he was catered for the whole time. Good food. Good service.
