Wagamama in West Dorset

Thank you so much for supporting St Marys's with our charity event today! The staff absolutely loved the food. It was so delicious and put a big smile on everyone's faces!

Special mention to the manager Carlos. He sorted out a missing item from our takeaway order, was very helpful, and put in a complementary dish and voucher for the inconvenience for having to drive out and collect twice. He was really helpful and resolved the issue in a very friendly and professional manner, thank you Carlos. Takeaway food was delicious, and comes in easy to eat from packaging.

I am on a very restricted diet. I gave them a list of things I could not eat. They gave me a choice and adapted recipes to my requirements. It was my friend's birthday too. They made our visit very pleasant and memorable. Thank you.

The food did not disappoint, service however…. Was questionable. The manner in which the manager spoke to the waitress was disrespectful and unreasonable, borderline bullying. It got to the point where it ruined our meal by dampening the family dinner that we were looking forward to. We will not be returning.

This Wagamama was the best I've been to EVER!. The head chef came to our table and spoke about what we had ordered and my daughter said she loved the side salad , the Chef then came back with a huge bowl of salad and a bottle of his own signature dressing for her to take home free of charge !!! . The staff were attentive and worked so hard . The food was impeccable and hot and the whole experience was top notch !!

We came to wagamamas at half 7 in the evening, which was prime time. We waited a maximum of 10 mins for a table. Once we got to our table we was greeted by Dan. He was absolutely out of this world. He helped us decide what to eat, giving his own opinion on things on the menu ( which we wanted). He was smiling the whole time, even though we was indecisive, he had a lot of patience. I think without Dan, it would have got a 3 star rating AT A PUSH.

Came here for lunch with my friend before going away. Great food and great service, chill atmosphere and clean and tidy restaurant. The staff were all great. Huge shout out to our server Enya for being incredibly friendly and helpful, made us feel looked after for our whole visit.

Very friendly staff. Food as good as always. Unnecessary need for a "trained" member of staff to take my order because I was asking for rice noodles because I don't tolerate gluten. I know they are protecting themselves but when you say you are not allergic/Coeliac they could probably be a little more relaxed

The service was poor today, and I have been many times. Food is always good, but the experience comes from the lack of care and attention from front of house staff. Food was literally just thrown down in front of us, was given dirty glass to drink from. I was horrified at the state of it. Replace the cutlery if it’s that gross looking!

10 out of 10 for the peeps in the kitchen; I wish I could say the same for everything else. The enduring appeal of Wagamama took a bit of a dent today. Arriving at their (not exactly oversubscribed) Dorchester spot for a late Friday lunch with family and friends, we were quickly welcomed by a wonderful, warm and friendly member of the team who, despite being heavily pregnant, was running around doing the work of her 3-4 other restaurant floor colleagues, who were preoccupied with more pressing personal matters (a theme that carried through the whole experience – including, at one point, when a member staff not 20 feet from us was using a restaurant interior mirror to comb and style her hair, while we were displaying all the internationally recognised signs for "We've eaten, now we'd like to pay, please"). On balance, a pungent whiff of disinterest from 75-80% of the customer-facing staff (with one noted exception; hats off to the front-of-house). The food was excellent (as always), and much appreciated! No doubt one of the few remaining saving graces of a restaurant chain that has an air of "We just don't really need your money" about it. Wagamama: where's your hunger to be best gone, eh? You're better than this; don't become another Byron Burger.

Great service from Amelia who couldn’t have been lovelier and very efficient and helpful staff. Lovely tasty food and arrived very quickly. Hats off to chefs too who work brilliantly under pressure of a busy lunchtime service as the place was packed!

Wonderful family lunch while passing through Dorchester. Food was wonderful and service outstanding, particularly Em who was really friendly and helpful and great with our 7 yr old Son. Everything was quick and efficient with attentive service and food and drinks came out rapidly.

Absolutely awful. Got a table swiftly, and it went downhill from there. Staff decided to serve others who cane later than us, and then when we we served, it took 20 minutes to bring the drinks. The white wine was at room temperature, so it was promptly returned. The server thought it was acceptable to then just put the bottle in ice and return it! We were not offered an alternative drink. They just grabbed the wine and walked off. Went to the Gents, and it smelt of vomit, wee was also all over the floor by a urinal, almost impossible not to have to walk through it. When we scanned the bill, it wasn't our bill. All this time, the staff all young just seemed to be socialising with each other. Won't be revisiting this one.

I visited on Thursday evening on the 26th of May, food was lovely and came out hot and quickly. My main reason for writing the review is to acknowledge the young woman who served us Emma. I’ve honestly never been made me feel so welcomed when visiting a place to eat. She is the biggest credit to the Dorchester branch. She was just so lovely! I hope she sees this and recognises how much she made my day that evening. Thank you xx

Have been here twice now in the last couple of months for celebrations with a large size party and can highly recommend them. The food is delicious and plentiful. Service is prompt and staff are very polite and friendly. Excellent prices.

Hate the fact wagamama do not book tables. It was my birthday and u really wanted to go. But to turn up to a big queue and having to wait out in the rain I am not impressed There were about 10 tables free on the other side of restaurant but seems they were only seating people in a couple of sections even though tables were free. You should be able to book for special occasions! I am not impressed!

You saved the day! We’d booked another restaurant for my birthday dinner and they kept us waiting for an hour so we left. Fortunately, at 9pm you were still open. We were served quickly - a glass of Prosecco bought back my good cheer - then the usual delicious food followed incredibly quickly with great service. Just as well as we were so hungry!
