Lovely meal with the kids. Food was fresh and hot and very tasty. Service was great and nothing was too much trouble. All with a smile. Will definitely be beach!

This restaurant is a truly exceptional family run restaurant. Went early on a Monday evening and there were enough diners to create a good atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and got the balance right between chatting to you and allowing you time to enjoy the food. Helpful suggestions on food and also offered free of charge some items for tasting. The food quality was also brilliant. I eat in restaurants fairly often and this was the most enjoyable experience that I have had in a very long time.

Went for sons birthday restaurant was full but the service and food was still fantastic. Can’t recommend highly enough everyone so nice here they go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect for you. Food was amazing cooked to perfection can’t wait to return. 10/10

We have visited the Village Charcoal Grill this afternoon. The food was delicious- we had babaganoush and stuffed vine leaves for starters, I had the vegetarian moussaka (absolutely delightful), and my partner and son shared a plate of mixed kebab meats- they loved it. My apple punch was lovely. The best part of out visit was the service though- our waiter Ugur was professional, polite and extremely kind. Thank you very much, we will be back! :)

My friends and I have not visited in a while. We were not disappointed. The food was as delicious as ever. Portions are generous too.

Have just visited this restaurant for the first time. The first thing we noticed was a quote on the door from TripAdvisor saying the restaurant was great for vegetarians...and it was! We had such a great meal. I'm veggie but my partner is not. The staff were really helpful in adapting the menu and making sure we could both go "off menu' to get what we wanted. Food was fabulous, service was excellent and we certainly will come back soon

Best lamb chops ive had in a long time and generous portions of dishes, loads left to take home. Fantastic service, waitress was funny and helpful and kept coming by the table for more water. Kebab was delicious as well, best Turkish I believe in the area.

On a hot day we retreated into the cool of this restaurant for lunch. The aircon was wonderful and the food was really great - I had fresh falafels with a salad, humous and warm pitta bread. Others had chicken or lamb kebabs. All of us loved our food. Shame it is so far from Putney where I live! Give it a go you won't regret it.

The bread & cucumber dip entree is absolutely Devine, the steaks are always cooked to perfection, staff always very friendly and helpful, can’t wait to get back into eat.

We've talked about moving .... perhaps to the coast or even Spain. But it would be too much of a wrench to not be able to drop in on this place. Great service and the best chicken kebabbles this side of the Thames.

We have been ordering from Village Charcoal Grill every Friday and the young man serving has an incredible memory always knows our order (even salad and sauces) despite the busy atmosphere. Food is always cooked to perfection and service is great. Keep up the good work!

The Takeaway arrived an hour late. It was Cold. It was Burnt. The rice was missing from the order. There was a piece of plastic bag in the kebab. There was only 3 tiny pieces of chicken, which were dry and tough. The salad was inedible as it was made up of majority raw onion. I was severely disappointed with this takeaway, it was over priced and awful quality and we will not be ordering again. I would definitely not recommend.

This has been the only place we got take out from during lockdown. It’s a family run business for over 25 years and they have implemented safe measures for both customers and staff. We used to visit the restaurant before lockdown but take away is just as amazing! They always cook the meal to order and it’s very fresh and tasty. By far the best in Cheam! I would recommend visitors to call to place an order to avoid waiting outside for long as it can get very busy.

When we lived in England we just happened to look round Cheam Village and luckily found this restaurant. The food was absolutely superb and the people there were so friendly. It remained our favourite restaurant in England and it will be our first port of call when we go back,

We have visited this restaurant many times over the past few years. It is always excellent - great food, great service and good value. The homemade Humus is fantastic. Highly recommend for a casual meal, couples or larger parties.

We have been visiting this family run restaurant for years and it never disappoints. The portion sizes are just right and food always tastes great. The staff were extremely inviting when we visited recently. A definite must if in the area.

7 Friends & I visited this shop on a busy Thursday evening and WOW!! I have to say I was extremely impressed, it's a family run business and the boss himself came up to us and had a chat, the food was amazing especially the chef's dishes, would highly recommend to everyone!

A fantastic experience at village charcoal grill, my first time there and seems like many more to come, very friendly and attentive staff with a smile, accompanied by astonishing starters and mains, I had the lamb chops which where cooked to perfection tender and succulent meat. The others in the party said there mains especially the chicken shish was fabulous and tasted great. To finish we received complementary baklava on the house with traditional Turkish tea which made us leave the premises with a happy stomach

We managed to book a last minute table on a Saturday night. The restaurant was very busy with many family parties eating. Our order was taken quickly with complimentary bread and chilli dip given.

Visited this place on Tuesday with a group of mates. It was surprisingly busy considering it was a school night but the restaurant had a very pleasant atmosphere. The food and service was second to none. We will be back

Excellent family run restaurant with lovely sharing starters and incredible main course selection, They serve the best Doner Kebab i have ever tried, portions are huge , was a challenge to finish but it’s so good you have to give it a try

The Village Grill is an excellent place to eat and to be honest, not enough people go there as it is a bit of a walk from the car park. The food is excellent and well worth going. The staff and service is very good.

My family eat here quite often and never had a bad meal. Kul Basti and mixed grill are favourites. Food is very tasty and freshly cooked. Takeaway is always busy too and cooked to order - highly recommended. Staff are very friendly and service is great.

This restaurant is fabulous! Good, freshly cooked Turkish food - huge portions and reasonable prices. The staff are lovely and welcoming, and you even get a complimentary liqueur at the end of the meal. We will definitely be back soon!

First visit here for us and we were welcomed...without a booking and a full house...but they found us a table. Very tasty food. My husband had steak which was good value and cooked well. The staff are excellent and really make this restaurant great!

I have been visiting Charcoal Grill since they opened back in the 1995. The standard of the food and service is always great! The owner and his staff are very friendly. Well worth a visit.

This was the first time I visited this lovely family run Turkish restaurant. We had our work Christmas party here on a busy Friday evening. The restaurant was full and service was superb with the boss greeting everyone personally when they enter and leave. The Maze and Lamb Chops are a MUST, the best Chops I’ve had in Surrey. I will be returning.

Very busy and popular but overpriced and slow service. My stuffed aubergine starter was nothing like the Imam Bayaldi I get in Turkey, no minced lamb or cheese, just peas and sweetcorn..I complained but no offer of refund. My husbands halloumi was OK though.Kebabs standard but very overpriced, nothing special.

We have visited a few times at lunch time when it is very quiet. We were very impressed and said when our friends came over from Australia we would take them there in the evening.

As a long term family customer of Village Charcoal Grill I was extremely disappointed to buy (and pay £8.30 for) a take away shish kebab (cubes of lamb) with a bit of donner meat, but find when I get home to be served a donner kebab with three pieces of shish kebab meat on it. My family and I have been good customers for many years and frankly I find being ripped off like this really hurtful!!! Yes all businesses have their profit making strategies, but this is not conducive to being a positive part of the local community in Cheam.

We have lived in Cheam for 15yrs and have always bought from here. We use the takeaway more than the restaurant.

We used to live in Cheam and loved coming to this place for the mixed grill. When we were back for a visit we went and it’s still fantastic, smiling great staff, freshly cooked tasty food !! This place takes service seriously and wants their customers to enjoy the food. Shame we can’t visit more often.

Very warm welcome. Food is consistently excellent. All the food is home cooked ( other than the fries) and lovely and fresh! The staff are very friendly and helpful. We (as a family) eat here often and never have we had a disappointing meal. The Kul Basti is one of my favourite, always cooked to perfection. The only thing I would like to see on the menu is some fresh fruit, but that is a personal choice.

Despite living quite near Cheam I had not visited this restaurant before so decided to try as I really do like a kebab. The restaurant was quiet but this was probably because it was outside the normal lunch times when I visited. However I was served by a very pleasant waitress and ordered the tarmasalata for a starter followed by the special lamb shish kebab - nicely cubed lamb, beautifully grilled and served with rice and salad - excellent. Definitely a return visit in the near future!!

This is a gem of a restaurant. The staff really care, are warm, friendly and can’t do enough. I’ve eaten at a lot of Turkish restaurants but this is something else. Just fantastic.

I came here for Mother's Day with a party of 8 people, even though the place was very busy, everyone was very attentive and the meals were served promptly. We had a great time and I would definitely come again!! Make sure to order your halal steak beforehand.

This was our first visit. Lovely family authentic Turkish restaurant. The lamb fillet steak was the best I’ve ever had. Seriously. And the rice pudding dessert was very special. I would happily take our visitors here for a delicious dinner and bottle of Turkish wine.

I had the pleasure to dine in this restaurant with a group of friends on Wednesday evening. The restaurant was very busy, especially considering it was a weekday. The lamb shank (Kleftiko) was the tastiest I've had in many years. The restaurant is very clean and the atmosphere is fantastic. A must visit if you want quality Turkish/Mediterranean food and service.

Visited on a Friday night, busy but service was good, food ok,had pint of larger at 3.95 then asked for another half charged 3.55 !!!

The service was very slow, one of our dishes - the chicken kebab was dry as well as the rice as if both had been overcooked and the garlic mayo did not appear to have been near any garlic Not the best atmosphere- best bit was the free Turkish delight accompanying the bill.

Went here as a random meal over bank holiday as had been before and always said we'd come again. Staff are attentive, food is lovely, and it's a nice clean restaurant with big portions. I don't often leave my dinner, but did this time!

Always on the look out for a decent Turkish restaurant. Tend to judge them on whether or not Iskender is on the menu. We pre-booked and when we arrived it was full already. Our table was right in front of the door to the toilets which was rather annoying but to be honest it looked like they were trying to fit in as many tables as possible. Waiter who served us was attentive and helpful in answering the questions we had regarding the menu. We ordered a bottle of shiraz, garlic mushrooms and halloumi. These came up with some bread. All very tasty. Lots of starter options to choose from both cold and hot. We then both had the iskender one chicken the other lamb. We ordered chips and rice on the side. I have to say it was the best iskender I have had. Not too rich and the chilli sauce we asked for was also tasty. Even with the extra sides it was enough. I managed to get through some baklava for dessert which was also yummy. Upon paying the bill we were offered a free liquor which was a nice end to a fab meal. Great place to eat. We will be back.

My parents have always enjoyed going here and often would take us along when we visited. Very recently we sadly lost dad and thought that a lovely tribute would be to have the funeral wake buffet at The Village Charcoal Grill.The staff were very accommodating and so helpful when we said what our thoughts were. Everyone enjoyed the informal and friendly venue. The food was lovely as usual for the buffet which was a selection of hot dishes with salad. They made everyone feel welcome and we can only say a huge thank you to all the staff for their hard work in enabling us to have the wake there.

After a beer or three @ The Railway Public House we headed out to the Village Charcoal Grill for what turned out to be a kebab & meat fest!!! Gigantic portion for the mixed grill washed down with very palatable Turkish Wine!!! Survive was extremely attentive & courteous! Would definitely recommend a visit if Turkish & Middle Eastern Cuisine is you bag!!

We've been using this family run Turkish restaurant for years and never had a disappointing meal. The menu has something for everyone and the food is always cooked well and nicely presented. The staff are lovely and keen to please. All in all a pleasant experience to be enjoyed over and over.

when asked if you want all salad with your kebab you get home and find all kebabs have one tablespoonful of shredded cabbage and two quarters of a tomato and that's it. the kebab portions are ridiculous for the price. all other kebab shops in the area give you a very generous portion plus 'all' salad which consists of lettuce, cabbage,cucumber, tomatoes and chilli peppers. the prices for such measly portions are extortionate in my opinion and that's no exaggeration. the chap who takes the orders then asks if you wish to donate for xmas. go to Istanbul grill or kebab planet in Sutton. there you pay much less and get so much you cant eat it all the same evening and save the rest for the next day.

Had a meal here on Friday with my mum. Service excellent. Varied menu and food arrived quick and plenty of it. The staff here are really friendly and the manager went around every table asking if all was ok. Highly recommended.

I had an enjoyable evening here with my husband in July. We had good food and great service. It doesn't look like much from the outside but it's really nice on the inside. The locals seem to know about it and it was busy inside.

We've been here a few times this summer and the food hasn't disappointed. Family favourites are the Izmir Kofte, Chicken Iskender and the Chicken Mousaka. The Efes beer has a good clean finish and goes well with most dishes, as does the Ayran yoghurt-based drink. Portion sizes are generous without making you feel that you're going to end up paying for food you can't eat. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Gets busy in the evenings so I recommend booking a table first. If you can see your way past the chez 70s-style frontage and somewhat dated interior, the dishes are highly unlikely to disappoint. Prices are reasonable given its location; on our last visit 4 mains and drinks came to £50-ish and we all felt this was good value.

My friends and I tried this restaurant for dinner. It was such a surprise! Food was lovely and staff very attentive. We shared hummus, baba ghanoush and stuffed vine leaves as starters, then had chicken and lamb for mains (I had the Chicken Begendi and the joghurt sauce was so so tasty!). All in all, around £60 for the three of us, drinks included. Really good value for money!

My friend and I decided to try this restaurant after passing it a few times. The food was cooked well and the service very good and pleasant. It was not an amazing experience and more expensive than we expected. It was ok but forgettable although the service was not.The variety was limited for me and the good just was not exciting enough and quite bland.

This place is fantastic! has a really good restaurant or Take a Way. Very good menu loads to choose from, all cooked fresh. Very very friendly staff! and it's genuine! Great atmosphere.The aubergine starter is to die for! or try the mixed mezes! yum! and not to forget the Turkish Efes beer! Cheers.

We just poped in for a quick lunch.....nice tasty but a bit expensive.for a lamb shank and chicken kebab we paied 50 pound.....service was poor.not worth it.
