Vijay's Virasat in Redbridge

We are regulars at this restaurant - either dining in for family events or ordering a takeaway on a Friday night. The staff at the restaurant are very friendly and always attentive. The food is fantastic - the mixed grill and tandoori chicken are amazing but there is something for all different tastes. Couldn’t recommend the restaurant highly enough - it’s easily the best Indian restaurant in the area.

We came as a family to eat for Mother’s Day. To begin with we ordered 3x Cobra beer which were all flat. We told the waiter who offered us Tusker from the bottle instead. We actually wanted the draft beers. In addition to this the kebabs we ordered were stale. The food that we ordered was not fresh and felt like it had been pre-made. Our whole family had upset stomachs all night and it wasn’t just experienced by one family member but by the entire family. I will not be visiting again. They should be making their food fresh to begin with.

The staff was attentive, friendly, and displayed a genuine passion for ensuring guests had a memorable dining experience. From the moment I was seated to the final moments of the meal, the service was prompt, courteous, and personalized. The waitstaff was well-versed in the menu, and always checking up on you. In conclusion, Vijay's Virasat is a gem . The combination of outstanding vegetarian offerings and impeccable service makes it a standout choice in the culinary landscape. I left with a satisfied palate, a full stomach, and a strong desire to return for another gastronomic adventure. Highly recommended!

Sumptuous Food highly recommended....a must visit

Wonderful restaurant with excellent food. The staff is very friendly and the general atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. Definitely recommend it to everyone who loves good Indian food!

My first visit with friends who dine regularly at the restaurant, I was absolutely wowed by the service, it is very rare to get HOT places in restaurant where the food is served whilst the plates are still hot, nothing was too much for the waiters, all very attentive and polite, Loved their professional look, the ambience was just right without having loud music blaring in the background so we could have a decent conversation during dinner between us, The highlight of my dinner was the Lychee Gin & Tonic, it was Lush !!!!!!!!!!

Came twice here not that impressive with service but the food was excellent seekh kebab and special fried rice was excellent.

I have been coming with the family to this restaurant for the last few years. Our previous favourite restaurant has gone downhill over the last few years so we were looking for authentic indian food locally & this is a superb restaurant. Superb starters & great mains. Proper Punjabi style & great service. It’s an undiscovered gem.

Celebrated my mums 80th birthday and the food and staff were excellent. Nice atmosphere and we were all looked after very well.

Food is amazing and delicious though the portions size is small. Authentic Indian food. Staff is polite and courteous. Service was fast. Ambience is dimly lit and clean. Liked it! Would want to come back for their buffet.

Consistent, reliable and delicious - cannot fault this place. Generous portions and super friendly staff. Excellent adaptation for allergies and attention to detail such as how fiery or mild the food is. I would consider adding more soft furnishings to absorb more sound for when it gets busy.

Just returned home with full bellies after having a wonderful meal here. All our food, starters- chilli chicken, pakoras. Main -butter chicken, lamb, biryani and the lovely naans were absolutely delicious. The flavours were out of this world. Hats off to the amazing and talented chef. The service was great. We were greeted very nicely on arrival and waited on with care and patience. We weren't made to feel hurried or rushed. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely. Decor beautiful, clean and tidy. Mocktails were yum! We had the Virasat special and the Colada. Will most definitely make this a regular place to visit and highly recommend it.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. The food is to DIE for and the staff are so friendly and attentive. We had a range of dishes and I cannot fault any of them. They came out perfectly on time and they tasted delicious. Virasat is a must visit!!😍

I ordered paneer tikka masala but only when we had a few bites did we realised that it’s actually chicken. I’m a vegetarian and I don’t eat chicken at all. It was such a bad and overwhelming experience realising what it actually is. I used to love this restaurant (a loyal customer, to be honest), but this was extremely disappointing. I’m never going to order from this place again, I find it hard to trust this restaurant now. How can they be so careless and irresponsible? I’m now doubting their hygiene as well. Tremendously disappointing.

I placed an order Friday evening for a take away I ordered Garlic naan Keema naan Lamb rogan josh Malai tikka Shashlik paneer tikka Absolutely disgusting Keema naan had a few grains of mince Lamb had so much fat on it Paneer / less paneer more veg Veg was disgusting Big fat pieces of onions, peppers and tomatoes Garlic naan over cooked hard and chewy Poppadoms rubbery n chewy Malai tikka - under cooked The prices are extortionate and food was awful/ I have eaten here many times and ordered food. They are obviously cutting out good quality food and just improvising Never again !! Wasted £45

Visited for a buffet on the weekend. Quality food but limited options and unlimited soft drinks with the buffet. Customer service was very good.

I had an extremely unpleasant experience when I ordered food via Uber Eats. Taste wise not so bad, but grossly overpriced for what they serve. Mutton biryani is more like pulao and Noodles are very average. I also ordered chilli chicken to go with noodles and what I got was home style chicken curry. For the price I paid the quantity was miserable.

First time when I went we had a great service band food was worth eating. But on Saturday which is 09/sep/2023. No proper service non proper food presented. In fact the staff was not at all corporative. When I tried to open the food lid, it was so hard to handle by ourself and fell with great force and the fire fell on my right thigh. And when informed the staff had no concerns. Pathetic service of the staff Chef food was good.

I visited Virasat for my birthday! I told restaurant that we will be 18 adults but unfortunately only 16 adults came to the party. But this restaurant charged for 18 adults even when I told them before hand that it might be 2 more or 2 less adults. The buffet we had was their general buffet, open to all, even walk-ins! I don’t understand why we were charged extra.. was food made specially for us..? Did they refused any walk ins because we have booked it for 18 and only 16 came.. or their food got wasted because of us? If instead of 18, 20 adults would have come to our party, so they won’t have charged for it or the food would not have been available with them? If they can charge for extra, they could have managed will 1-2 people less.. sometimes there are emergencies when people are unable to turn up.. and it was a matter of just 2 people and the manager was so adamant.. It was highly unethical..after all it was my hard earned money charged fe tea with no valid logic!! Virasat’s food is good but they should consider their policies.

We tried veg food and it was bit on the sweet side but kids loved it, good portion and nice service. I recommend to book a table in advance on Fridays or weekends. Space it little cramped and ambience could be better. Bollywood songs in the background but noisy. Budget wise is also okay compare to the other indian restaurants in Ilford.

The manager mas is friendly and professional, always looks after us when we dine in or do an take out. Will recommend everyone to go and ask for the manager for your special evening for a special at Vijay Virasat.

Really enjoyed the vegetarian fare here - the lamb dish was not so good. But over all a super enjoyable experience. Attentive, helpful staff.

Food was just ok ok types. Paneer tikka shashlik starter was extremely bland. Main course was ok but then very small portion for the price charged. Staff was courteous

We went here for Sunday lunch, around 2pm, and it was very poor. For £16 pp you would expect a wide variety of dishes. Unfortunately, there were just a handful of starters, 2 curries, daal and rice. Presentation was something like you would get in a canteen. Even worse, all the food was lukewarm to cold. When we complained to the waiter he said if we had come at 12pm the food would have been hot!! They then acted as if they were doing us a big favour by warming the food up. Seems the food had been out for a couple of hours without being replenished. Stick to a la carte menu in the evening. This was very poor value for money. Under no circumstances should they be serving up cold food.

Have been a loyal customer for years. A very good place for delicious curries. Highly recommended. Dhiren, Mausum and the team are always a pleasure to talk to.

The best Indian Food I have had in a while. Such amazing taste. We were so so satisfied with the food that we can come everyday and have the food there . The flavours are too good. Another absolutely fantastic night at this restaurant. Excellent attentive staff, who are happy to help with any request. The vibe and atmosphere is nice as well, background music and TV screens. The restaurant is very clean (cutlery, plates, tables, glasses). Most importantly the food is amazing, so delicious. A wide range of options on the menu, so you are definitely going to find something that you like. They also are very accommodating for any food changes (vegan etc). I would definitely recommend visiting the restaurant but if you cannot for any reason, then do try the takeaway service which is available. I have been coming to this restaurant for over 8 years and it has never disappointed me and my family.

Some of the dishes contain lot onion and making the dish bitter.Price on food is very expensive .since price was high very few food dish were order.

I have been coming to this establishment for 31 years on and off. When I am visiting my family. I can honestly say. I have never had a bad meal. Saturday early evening I treated my mum to a great curry. I had Saag lamb. She had chicken Best I have ever tasted. Starters always good Sides too. 6 stars

This place is absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere was great from the moment we walked in. The staff were amazing, so attentive and helpful. The food was unreal. We had the chilli paneer which was probably the best we've had. The paneer makhani and murgh makhani were both fantastic. The chicken biryani was delicious. The naans were also great. Everything was great about this place. Particular shout out to Ali who was brilliant. He kept checking to see that we were ok and whether we needed anything. He was polite and professional. An absolute credit to the restaurant.

I'm very critical of food and service....both extremely and excellently on point today on mother's Day. 7 of us dining for mother's Day and from the drinks to starters to mains everything was top notch and even the kids were happy. Staff really polite from the booking process to the restaurant service. Proper Indian restaurant and not one run by Bengalis or others which is becoming more common. Absolute ripoff prices avoid. Three of us went for dinner and they charged us £225 6 cobras and one starter each and a main. The main special which was lamb curry was £27 each

We ordered food from this place based on a friends suggestion, should have checked reviews online. Firstly, its bit pricey than other Indian restaurant in this area, so we expected better quality and finer taste. The food was horrible, Veg Manchurian had no texture and was floating in salty soya sauce, no other flavors. Chicken lollipop seemed stale. I have no words to explain those Chicken Noodles 😭. Compared to all of the above items Kofta curry was eatable, but if you're Indian used to hot/spicy flavor you will not need a dessert later. Thanks Chings Chilli Sauce for everything 😂. All in all never going to order again!!

We went there to celebrate my uncle's b'day. The food was amazing and super quick service. Every dish was delicious. Also they were so sweet with our little one. He is approx 2 and was jumping and running around but they were so friendly and played with him. Overall a wonderful experience. Definitely recommend.

What an experience, this place never ever disappoints, when I come here with my friends the service is always spot on, Masum always greets us and strives to give us the BEST experience (even when he's rushed on his feet). Food is always on point and drinks selection of drinks are brilliant!

Pretty good recent eating experience here. Food mostly was very tasty and authentic. Special mention to the Mint chutney with Bhajias! this was so fresh and super tasty. Slow initial drinks service otherwise was good. Quite pricey overall though.

Three chicken lollipop for 10 pounds, that's too much! The taste of this lollipop is sour! Won't suggest you to buy it from uber eats, they charge 4-5 pound extra for their services! Overall a bad experience.

A nice place to grab a quick bite to eat. They offer 2-4-1 cocktails on Mondays-Thursdays and you don't need to get the same drink so that's a bonus. Food was great, one portion of curry was more than enough for two people. Slightly overpriced, but food is authentic and tastes great.

We went to celebrate our daughter’s 4th birthday. We reached there around 6:15pm as kids are small we decided to eat dinner and get back home on time. The restaurant was pretty much empty that time. We requested for a sofa corner table as Kids wouldn’t come out from the seat and will be safe. I requested one of the guy there can we have corner sofa seat so kids can safely sit. He just said he can’t provide us that seat, you need to control your kids. I felt so bad being a parent. It was very rude of him to say that. I just told him that’s ok we will go somewhere else. He just said totally upto you. I am never ever going back to Vijay virasat. Initially, it was in one my list to try indian food. Honestly, if my kids are not welcome in those restaurants I would not waste my money and their special days in such a rude and unwelcoming environment. There are so many other way to speak to the customers. Sorry, Vijay Virasat you are out of the list and wouldn’t recommend any one with the kids. Dear management, please hire or train soft spoken staff with your customers. Please please work on it. It’s very disappointing experience and ruin of someone’s day and mood.

Been here so many time but on 21.1.23 myself my wife and mum attended your restaurant for my mum's birthday. Well I was more than disappointed, you obviously needed more staff on that night as there was a function downstairs. Not a problem but our food was not upto the normal standard and was late. Along with no communication with staff as always coming to the table asking the same question. You have no idea how many people I have recommended you to but not anymore. My food was lukewarm but didn't want to say anything because of my mum. Such a shame but never shall I give you my money again. Pretty sure there are other restaurants who do just as well.

Me and my friends went for dinner here and was not impressed with the quality of food. We ordered chicken lollipops and when it arrived the chicken seemed to have been off. They offered a replacement dish but this tasted the same. I would recommend the passion fruit juice, it was delicious.
