Victoria Inn in Chichester

We found the Victoria Inn a few weeks ago and popped in for a drink and we were pleasantly surprised so we then decided to pop in for Sunday lunch yesterday (Sunday 25th Feb 2024). I phoned at 12.30 and spoke to Charlotte who booked us in for 13:15. On arrival we were met by Steve (Charlotte's partner) who was courteous and kind and who showed us to our table. We ordered a sunday roast and a bottle of wine and when the meal arrived it looked lovely and the portion size was very generous, but the main thing that blew my wife and I away was the taste. We particularly love our roast vegetables and we have eaten a lot of roast dinners in our time, but this was without doubt the best one ever (and i sincerely do not say that lightly) Everything was cooked to perfection and everything tasted beautiful. Also, nothing was too much trouble for Steve or Charlotte and they went out of their way to make sure that we enjoyed our dining experience with them and had everything we needed. Having run a successful business with my wife for the best part of thirty years (before taking early retirement two years ago) we genuinely appreciate how hard it can be to create and run a family based-business that is fully customer focussed on providing exceptional quality and value. Therefore, I have to take my hat off to these two exceptional young hosts for what they have achieved. We will definitely be back and if you are reading this you should definitely book a table and try the food here. You will be very pleasantly surprised.

Excellent choice of menu, prices very reasonable, and wonderful family run pub recommend to anyone, a must visit with good walks around West Marden

Family Sunday lunch for a group of 13, after a long walk. The pub catered for us all brilliantly, staff were friendly and food was superb, especially the roasts.

Delightful pub pub, delightful staff, lovely location, nice walks and a great Sunday lunch to suit chillier times. Beer is good too. Even our dog was happy under the table. Nicely behaved clients too!

I recently went to the Victoria Inn for Sunday lunch. We were a party of five and ate in their dining room. The pub was well staffed and welcoming. Everyone enjoyed their choice from the menu. It was a very good meal out and preferable to visiting a restaurant chain.

This small pub is a perfect stop when walking or cycling around the area. It has lots of character and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Had a fantastic roast beef dinner with apple crumble for afters, reasonably priced too.

Went to the Victoria Inn for Sunday Roast dinner and what can I say it was absolutely gorgeous, so nice the 4 of us would have happily licked the plate ( but we didn't ) . The staff were so welcoming and friendly, the fire was roaring and made it so cosy and comfortable. The dessert was like something from MasterChef!!!! Pie of the week was nothing to write home home about & the portion size once the small jug of gravy was removed was inadequate compared to my dining colleagues meals.Seasonal vegetables consisted of a few green beans & some broccoli,not much colour contrast there, the broccoli stalks were hard so had to leave some of that certainly not worth £16.Then there was confusion over the bill payments,their fault but no-one came to the table to apologise once it was resolved.

The pub landlady seemed to be rude and unkind to the DJ they hired. There were maybe 20 people in the pub and a few didn’t like the music so after changing it as requested these few still weren’t satisfied. It was not the majority that wanted the music changed. Then they told the DJ to pack up and go. It wasn’t professional and was not called for. They also refused to pay him his fee and gave him only half. I watched this and felt bad for this unnecessary treatment and Decided to leave as did others. There was only 3or 4 people left once I decided I’d seen enough. Despite the good food reviews it seems that they don’t treat people with respect and I think people should be made aware of that.

Cannot recommend The Victoria Inn at West Marden high enough. Eleven of us went there for a pre-planned mid-week evening meal; the event organising was great, the food and service were excellent and we all commented on what a lovely night we had. Thank you Charlotte & team - it was a night to remember and we will definitely be back!

We found this pub on a Sunday, roasts looked good with plenty of it. Ihad fish and chips, which was great, fresh and piping hot. Service is good and staff very friendly. We will be back.

The Victoria Inn hosted us for our after run drinks & snacks. They accommodated us with friendliness and helpfulness from our first tentative enquiry until the evening of our local event. Beers at the pub were voted as excellent and the bowls of chips were voted the best & great value. Recommend. Note : parking can be limited, both in the pub car park and in the narrow surrounding roads.

Visited this lovely pub yesterday after seeing the Lavender fields at Lordington. The food was amazing, great range of choice on the menu, generous portions and real value for money. A really welcoming pub and such a friendly and helpful bar person named Tracy. I will definitely visit again.

Friendly and accomodating, my girlfriend asked for a 'naked' burger and tomatoes. The deepfried whitebait starter was crispy and the whitebait were a good size.

£17 for Sunday roast, was ok but have had much better elsewhere. £9.50 for a large house wine. That said, very friendly staff, dog friendly, lots of outdoor tables. Bit tired decor. Overall not bad, but pricey for what it is.
