Very Italian Pizza in Brighton and Hove

Visited last night with a group of 10 of us for a birthday meal. Best pizza I’ve had in a long time. Authentic and delicious and loved by Italians too. Definitely give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

I live in Chelmsford Essex and drive 1.5 hrs to Brighton for VIP pizza 🍕 and it's always worth it. The only pizza I've have that is as good was from Italy 🇮🇹 Lake Garda. The starters and dessert are amazing too, the staff are lovely and the restaurant has a great atmosphere 😇I LOVE VIP PIZZA! Wish I lived closer😆🤤

I come here all the time solo and also with friends! The food here is absolutely delicious. “Parma” is literally the best pizza I have ever ate in my life. I have lost count about the amount of times I have come here. The food is truly delicious and I AM IN LOVE with the pizzas here 🩷🩷🩷🩷

We ate here as always looks busy when we walk past and to be honest was very disappointing. Pizza was very average (have cooked better at home), risotto was bland and service slow.

We came back to VIP for a family lunch and we weren’t disappointed! All our meals were absolutely delicious and the service was exceptional. I was a little worried after reading some of the more recent reviews. However, our experience couldn’t be faulted. Thank you VIP! We will be back!

Poor service, table of 4, 3 of them received the pizza while 1 waited more than 20 minutes to receive it, 2 guys who are part of the staff ate the pizza from our table, a shame, they didn't even apologize.

No really heartwarming welcome. . Very nice pizza but huge disappointment for pasta di Mare..no taste of seafood at all. Nothing were fresh. Just cooked from defrosted ingredients like mussels, clams and king prawns. (was actually one prawn) Mostly overcooked and shrunk. No black olives and capers as it mentioned on menu. I have previously visited Very Italian Pizza on several occasions and always told people that it was the very best pizza you could find anywhere in Brighton. However, my last visit was a little lacking. Service wasn't great. We weren't offered any water and getting the attention of waiting staff to order and get a bill was difficult. I understand that it gets busy but it was if we'd been forgotten. The food was very generous in its portion size. The pizzas are very big and we were offered doggy bags for the amounts we couldn't eat in one go. Taste-wise, it was good but it wasn't the best pizza I'd ever had. It was nice but it wasn't the out-of-the-world pizza I'd already had before. I'll still be back and hopefully just visited on a bad day, but I was disappointed after having such high hopes for a revisit.

My meatball pasta only had 3 tiny meatballs. My husbands lasagne had no meat or pasta in it, just a tomato sauce with melted cheese. The couple next to us also had the lasagne with no meat or pasta. When the waitress came over both tables told her and she said that is how it is meant to be and that there was nothing wrong with it. There was no sorry you weren’t happy, or we will look into it. Absolutely nothing. Such a shame as it used to be so good. Service and food now very poor for the price. And when you ask for lasagne you should get lasagne not a bowl of sauce.

My friend and I walked in and were not greeted we were just stared at by a waitress who looked like she didn't want to be there. We were eventually approached and sat and never spoken to again by the waitress. We were never given table water. We decided then we did not to eat in and order out. We asked for the pizza not to be cut and reminded them a second time before it was done. When the pizza arrived it was cut. Diego told us they could only remake one because we started to put oil on one before noticing they cut it. Diego said the reason was that they would not be able to re-sell the one with oil. We decided not to bother remaking just one because we thought at that point they were very rude and we were afraid they might do something to our food or just cut it again, wasting more of our time. We paid left. It was not a nice experience and I won't be returning.

Booked a table for 2 people. Turned up on time (few minutes early), to be told that the table was not ready, and could we wait outside? We tried to stand inside, but they would not let us, due to it being a very small place, and very full. Spent 10 minutes waiting outside in the freezing cold. I have never, in 30+ years of eating out, been asked to wait outside in the cold because my table is not ready. They should either 1) ensure that tables are vacated by the previous diners on time 2) make some space for people to wait inside. 3) at least offer a free drink or some sort of good will gesture. Strangely there was an empty table for 4 behind us that remained empty for 20 minutes after we were seated. They could have let us sit there and have a drink.

Had the pasta with meatballs, meal very tasty,but, only 3 meatballs, for the price I paid I expected more meatballs I did complain and was told they would inform the chef. Won’t be going there again or recommending this place The seating is so close together I thought Donatello’s was bad enough but vip is worse

The base was nice but the meatball popletta pizza had 4 meatballs on and nothing else. No cheese even. Surely it should have had more meatballs??? Hawaiian had a little more in topping but it was sparse. Nothing like the pictures. A real shame.

First the positive: the pizza was excellent. Authentic Italian, quality and tasty. Where this restaurant fails is the fact that they cram diners too closely together, especially in their basement. Despite having booked in advance we were led to a table downstairs. This room is small, airless and dank and yesterday evening was hot. There isn't even elbow room between the tables. As each successive set of diners came down the stairs their faces revealed their dismay. At one point around a dozen teenagers were shown to a table for about six. They stayed five minutes before bumping their way out. Not their fault as it was virtually impossible to not bump into someone. Once we had finished our delicious pizzas we went outside to finish our wine and the queue outside left when they saw us emerge sweating. A great shame the owners of this otherwise excellent restaurant seemingly try to put profit above customer enjoyment.

We complain it gets turned down a little , then on it goes again loud .. We ask are you purposefully trying to get people to leave ? Dont believe the positive reviews on this place !! Its dreadful !

I had the VIP salad - fully of cheese, artichoke, mushroom, peppers. Big enough for two to share with a shared pizza. Generous portions, very good value for the price. Already booked to go back.
