Vergies Cafe in Lambeth

I never really take my time out to write these reviews but the cafe, the staff everything about it is on point. Friendly and safe environment and my favourite hot chocolate in town and yummy food

Cool. Fresh. Clean. What else could you ask for? Great local café serving top grade coffee and food with a personal touch.

Fantastic cafe with delicious food! Would highly recommend going there if in the area. They very kindly gave me an extra slice of banana bread out of the blue which was incredible!

Genuinelly blown away by their salad bar options for the price point. The Large (for £10) fed me (72kg and growing) 2 meals! Service is amazing! Lovely ladies that run it, that are very friendly and brighten up my day.

The place is bright and airy with low background music to give a nice atmosphere. Service was nice and efficient. I had a full English and the food was exactly as stated and very tasty. Missed a photo op this time.

Lovely cafe. 10/10 English breakfast would recommend for others. Me and some friends go there weekly for an English breakfast and it’s the best in the area 👍

A nice little cafe with excellent, freshly-made sandwiches and salads. I often go here for lunch with friends.

Ordered sandwich with avocado, roast tomatos, home made chilli and tomato chutney and salad. It was to takeaway so I didn't notice until I unwrapped it and started eating it that it had the smallest amount of unseasoned avocado and barely roasted tomato. No flavour. No home made chilli and tomato chutney, but this wasn't mentioned. Cost about £4.20 as well

Ridiculously over priced, cup of tea and a 2slices of microwave bacon sandwich £5.70 ,,please avoid

Cheaper than the neighbouring coffee shops, and free newspapers to read. Perfectly adequate, couple of tables outside the front, sofa area front and tables back on mezzanine level. Very pleasant, easy staff, easy food from breakfast to snacks, eat in or take away.

Decent lunch option, well priced.

Went there because I needed a quick caffiene fix while working. Service was faster than expected - coffee was brewed up in less than a minute and tasted very good. Good quiet spot to enjoy said coffee too, not too much traffic; indoor seating is quiet and jt wasn't too busy.

Beef was a bit chewy. Banana cake is a bit dry. But staff super friendly worth 5 stars!

Had the best toastie I've ever had. Created my own with grain bread, rocket, olives, hummus, roasted peppers and courgettes with, tomatoes and a spread of onion chutney. It was the pengest ting. 👌 The staff are lovely too. Mante was friendly and accommodative to my diet requirements. Thank you

Le local a l’air agréable, propre. Il y a de l’eau parfumée au citron et à la menthe à disposition, un ou deux journaux.... La propriétaire est bien plus avenante avec la gent masculine qu’avec la féminine. Et puis.... l’amertume de l’eau laisse à penser que les citrons y baignent depuis la veille au moins. L’aspect des « sandwich fillings » dans la vitrine réfrigérée n’incite pas à confirmer l’impression que c’est là depuis la veille également. Les scones raplapla ne font pas envie (et ne ressemblent pas à des scones), Le banane breast sur lequel je me suis rabattue est un emplâtre à moitié cru... Le sucre ne veut pas sortir du sucrier, et pour cause, le tuyau par lequel il est censé passer est obstrué par du sucre tassé et séché....

Stopped here for breakfast one morning and everything about the visit was very good. The service was very pleasant and the place itself was very welcoming with tables upstairs and downstairs. The food was fantastic with plenty of bacon in the bacon sandwiches and quite reasonably priced for London also. Definitely worth a visit.

Popped in for a coffee and a hot chocolate ! Lovely. Great banana bread. Reasonable prices. The interior isn’t much but it’s very neat. Will comeback

Quiet, very friendly, nice decor.

I am a local an Vegies always appears to be shut. Assuming it caters to a local, daytime crowd I walked by at 9:30am and 3:00pm today (Monday) and it was closed.

Food was great but the atmosphere is awful, it's completely silent! Needs some music or a radio to make it feel more welcoming. Ararat from that it's great!

Breakfast/lunch with traditional sandwich bar fare, and some burgers. In today's world of outstanding, competitive burger joints, Vergies has fallen behind. But the sandwiches are decent. The coffee is poor, again, the world of coffee has moved on considerably in London, Vergies is average.

The lady behind the counter short changed me, hid a 20 cent Euro among my pound coin change - Definitely deliberate, I was in a rush so didn't check change till after

This location was much better when it was Jado cafe and then briefly The Dippy Egg. Can't get a proper fried breakfast anymore. Would suggest Parma or Madeira star for breakfast.

The staff are very friendly and the food is very tasty but maybe a little expensive for each lunchtime. Very nice for a special treat once or twice a week.

This premises has been a cafe for a very long time but when it became Vergies, perhaps seven years ago, it went up in class with clean furniture and a more limited but better range of sandwiches, breakfasts, salads and meals. Everything feels fresh - no smell of a burnt out chip fryer and the staff are helpful especially when you try and change your order at the last minute.

Amazing place, great food, brilliant staff.

Very good lunch time food. Burgers are excellent.
