VeeVa! in Allerdale

It’s lost that special feel. Used to love it here. First visit since new owners have taken over. Very sticky table and menu. Same menu but the dishes are definitely not the same. Very long wait and the cafe wasn’t full. Sorry won’t be out go to.

Veeva is a smart cafe attached to the auction house opposite Sainsbury’s. We were in for breakfast for three mornings while staying a nearby hotel and had orange juice that came in a generously sized glass, followed by the Full English which hit all the right notes, ie quality ingredients, well cooked and nicely presented. Our accompanying teas came in good sized pots,and the toast was of the satisfying, thick-sliced variety.Service was consistently friendly and efficient. If I was rating solely re food, I would give it 4 stars, but the lovely service merits an extra one.

My wife and I were visiting Cockermouth for the day, we were passing a few places, looking at the menu, we had to call in here and ask to see it; the menu looked comprehensive and decided to stay. What fantastic food! The service was excellent too! We had travelled over 100 miles to visit Cockermouth after not being here for many years, it was a great experience; we will definitely eat here next time, we will!

Quite busy at lunchtime, but I had heard good things about this place, so thought I would check it out. Two of us had coffee and a scone. The cheese one was apparently really nice but the fruit one was soooo dry! Unable to butter it as it broke up and crumbled everywhere. I only ate half of it, so my friend finished it of and said that there was a big difference between that one and the cheese. The coffee was really nice and hot.

Called in yesterday for lunch, a little apprehensive as under new management and not sure if my wife's gluten free requirements would still be catered for. But , no need to worry, the food and service were both first class.

We came to VeeVa on Saturday the 18th November. The cafe was recommended to us by a local resident. It’s always a good sign when you have to wait for a table even at breakfast time. We quickly got seated at a table after a small wait. We decided to have a full breakfast & myself a gluten free Hash brown & bacon sandwich. Both arrived freshly prepared & delicious. Would highly recommend. All of staff were fabulous checking to see if everything was ok for us & being very much on the ball. The young man who served us was ever so polite & nothing was too much trouble for him. We were very impressed with his attitude to work & he is a credit to the business.

Cannot fault the food here. We had breakfast two days in a row and each and every part of the meal was well prepared, fresh and juicy. The staff were very friendly and polite, especially the young chap (forgot his name). It looks like a very popular place for food and even though we had to wait to be seated on the first day, it wasn’t that long of a while until we were seated.

The full English breakfast was really nice. You got what you paid for unlike some places where you just get 1 of everything. The staff were really nice and friendly. I have a dairy intolerance and the staff went out the way to make sure my requirements were catered for, without making me feel uncomfortable. We will definitely be coming here again on our next trip out to the lakes

Probably one of THE best breakfasts we have ever had (and we travel a LOT)! Excellent friendly service, top quality food and amazing value! I had the mini breakfast for £7.50 which was a really decent size! The cafe itself is lovely decor and super quick service! Our friends also visited for 3 days as they were staying in nearby hotel and also loved it! Thank you

Lovely little Cafe. Excellent staff. I regularly visit, this time it was for lunch. Salads all fresh and well presented and the Welsh Rarebit is the best I have ever tasted. It never fails. Very popular, so at busy times you may have a short wait but tables are quickly cleaned and reset. Not to be missed.

Good food at reasonable prices. Excellent service. It was a busy Sunday lunchtime but we were served promptly. Unusual menu items. Very tasty. Great staff. Very attentive.

We had breakfast at Vee va as part of our B&B stay at the Tithe Barn. On arrival, we were welcomed and seated by a lovely staff member who also took our name. We were given the breakfast menu and advised that we could choose anything from the menu along with fruit juice and tea or coffee from the large selection on offer. We both chose the full breakfast and it was honestly the best breakfast either of us have eaten in years! I can be fussy about sausages, but these were delicious - so meaty. The fried egg was perfect and everything else was so tasty. If we had been staying longer, I would have loved to have tried other ootions from the menu. Overall - a great experience. Lovely staff, good service and fantastic food!

Just the most incredible experience. Top notch professional and friendly service, exceptional quality food, even had Prosecco with breakfast!! Everything about the food, the coffee the service was perfect. Faultless and highly recommended.

Truly awesome breakfast on a wet Saturday morning in August. The staff were great and the food was excellent. I had the full English breakfast and my son had the pancakes with warm Nutella. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area. 😃👍

En pocas palabras, este fue el mejor desayuno inglés completo que he probado en mi vida, incluso mejor de lo que cocino en casa, ¡y soy un experto en desayunos calientes! Ingredientes de calidad cocinados perfectamente combinados con un servicio rápido y amable. Estábamos de vacaciones. Es una pena que VeeVa esté a 300 millas de casa.

Recomiendo Veeva por muchas razones. El personal siempre es servicial y amable y la comida genial sea lo que pidas. Los picnics son increíbles, todo delicioso con una excelente relación calidad-precio. Nada es demasiado para el personal, incluso cuando están ocupados y trabajando durante una pandemia. Bien hecho todos ustedes

Fuimos a desayunar y tomamos el mejor café con chispas de chocolate amargo de verdad. La salchicha era preciosa y el tocino era de clase, muy buen pan también. El personal fue excelente y el distanciamiento social es el mejor que hemos experimentado hasta ahora en cualquier establecimiento. Cuando volvamos, sin duda volveremos y mirando los cuatro panqueques con jarabe de arce y arándanos, mi elección ya está hecha.

Excellent food and service, highly recommended. Couldn’t fault this place and nothing was too much for the staff. COVID safe.
