V-Namese Restaurant in Great Yarmouth

Peaceful restaurant where you can relax. The food is AMAZING. fresh and healthy. Very reasonable price and VERY clean.

I took my parents (60s) and 3 year old here in June 2021. We all chose something different and everything was great. There was a bit of a wait for the food but it was worth it. The kids meal was a surprise- they gave us a little box with a drink, dessert, tissues and some small toys in it. My daughter absolutely loved it and it kept her busy while we waited for the food. The price was really good value and I would come here again next time I’m in the area.

Service was good. No atmosphere, food scored a 1 throughout…. Nothing looked appetising, very dull looking on the plate…fish over cooked and my chicken noodles……where was the chicken? Looked like chicken crumbs…

Not had Vietnamese food before so on our last evening grabbed a table here and could not be more impressed. The unpretentious restaurant hid some high quality and very good value food. Had a starter and main as did my wife and it was sensational! The salt and chilli squid was perfectly cooked. Frankly the best meal of the trip and the best restaurant we found in Great Yarmouth - wish we had gone there every night we were in Great Yarmouth!

I visited here with my husband for a mid-week meal. We have both been once before. There is no dedicated parking, but we parked in a small pay and display not too far away and walked over. It is close to the main attractions so easy to walk to. Because of COVID, the front door is locked and you have to wait for someone to come and let you in. We were worried it wasn't open as it's quite dark inside but the waitress came to let us in very quickly. The tables are well spaced out. There are markings on the floor for the waitress to stand in to take orders for each table and these are a good distance away from each table. The menu is enormous, but it has something for everyone and a good mix of items. We got spring rolls, caramelised chicken, chilli beef and a couple of portions of noodles / beansprouts. The food came out in a good time. Not too quick, but not too long a wait either. We asked for everything together, rather than starters then mains, and the waitress told us she would try but she would have to bring things out as and when they were ready. We were fine with that and it turned out everything came out pretty much at the same time anyway. The spring rolls were good. Not amazing, but decent. The caramelised chicken was beautifully presented and the sauce was delicious. The chilli beef was the highlight of the meal. The noodles were very nice too. The food was well cooked, very hot and extremely tasty. We cleared the plates. The waitress was fantastic. She was a young(ish) lady and very friendly. We got one check-back and were then left to enjoy the food. At the end, she came over and talked to us about Vietnamese food and asked us about our previous experiences with it. She was friendly, without being 'too much'. She is a credit to the restaurant. I'd feel comfortable with leaving our food up to her next time and letting her pick what we have based on us telling her flavours and taste profiles that we enjoy. The price is reasonable for what you get. For lunchtime, I'd like to suggest perhaps a fixed price 'offer' or something to bring more people in as they deserve to be successful and busier than they were the day we went. We would definitely return again when next visiting GY.

I’ve been eating here since 2012 and have never been disappointed lovely food well presented and full of flavours

Dinner for four. The best food we had was a sharing platter for starters. Main courses were pretty average. The main memory was that service was extremely slow, though the place didn't seem too busy. Was there a staff shortage in the kitchen? I wish when restaurants have such a problem they would be up front about it, then delays become more acceptable.

A great restaurant just off the seafront.We were looking for something a little different. We read the reviews and decided to give it a go. We weren’t disappointed, the smell as you walk in gets your taste buds going. The visual menu has images of the dishes on while the main menu gives you the description and the meat choices. Very good way of presenting a menu. We couldn’t fault the food, all full of flavour and cooked to perfection. We ordered the mixed seafood starter followed by 3 main dishes a noodle dish and a rice dish, perfect for three of us. We left pleasantly stuffed. We will return, great service and great food.

We ventured out for a rare date night during this time and it was ruined by the food. Having ordered a sharing platter to start which was average we ordered 5 dishes for main to share, we ate a couple of bits of the squid and a spoon full of rice we said to the waitress that the food was inedible to which she took the squid and noodle dish to the kitchen.She then returned with the squid dish minus the noodle and said that the chef said cause we had eaten half the squid (which by the way only had four bits on) and therefore did not see an issue, crazy.We paid the bill and left but will certainly not return, lesson learnt and will definitely stick to our favourite next time othello's.

Very tasty food and nice servers. Only minus one star because we had to wait a pretty long time for our dish but it was all worth it and they were nice about it. Clean and well-spaced and had the door open which was really nice during our weird COVID times. We would definitely go back again.

After being totally sick of Seaside junk food I was after something with a little bit of Healthiness to it. Being a fan of Vietnamese food I came across this place after it being highly ranked up on Great Yarmouth rankings. I was with my young family and my brothers young family, after spending most of the day trying to convince them to come along I got the go ahead to book it. I phoned and spoke to a lady on the phone who was polite and helpful and even asked if i had any special requests for the evening, which I didn’t at the time, she also helped out with where to park as I wasn’t local.I booked a table for 7 o’clock for 4 adults and 3 kids after that phone call I was buzzing to be getting away from chips. After getting the crew out the caravan door pretty sharpish we was mega early and hungry, so we got to the restaurant about 1 hour early. I first walked in to double check if it was ok to bring our booking ahead earlier. I spoke to a waitress which I can only describe as the most miserable person I’ve ever came across aka mrs dead. She pointed to a 8 seater table over in the corner, I think I got the go ahead ‍♂️all the crew came in and got seated. At the time of entry the restaurant had 2 tables of customers a table of 4 and a table of 2. I wouldn’t class as it being busy. We sat at our table at 6pm. After my first introduction to the waitress in question I didn’t think this evening was going to go in the right direction. We sat waiting for menus for 25mins and after looking at them sharpish we ordered drinks and the kids meals because the kids were getting extremely inpatient and bored. We then had to wait another 15mins for drinks to travel less than 3meters away from our table, so by that time we had waited 40mins for a drink and it was hardly handed to us with any style. It was literally placed at the end of the table, no care or f”s given, help yourself. No offer for a glass for a beer, I was actually frightened to ask for one because of the waitress. On the menu it clearly states the kids meals came with a drink, prawn crackers, etc, etc. The kids meals came out at 7pm (1 hour after arrival) minus the kids box. As the kids were mega hungry all of them got stuck in. So I went to the bar to chase the prawn crackers I spoke to someone out the back. She told me the waitress in question had forgotten them, oh brilliant service yet again. After the kids doing really well on the food and finishing some 10mins later the kids boxes arrived. The boxes actually were a good idea but not when the kids have all finished the meals and looking for ice cream. Again zero care given with the service. Now 1hour 20mins into our wonderful experience I fancied another beer, I asked another waitress who was busy serving the whole 6 customers over 2 tables for a beer, she didn’t speak very good English. So for a joke I said il grab myself one, I started walking to the bar. To my absolute amazement I’ve seen the waitress in question asleep on a table near the rear kitchen door. After a bit of banter with a new table that just walked in I sat back down to my seat. At this point one of the children got upset by the whole experience. That was our que to leave, all the family left upset and hungry, The witness in question then woke up and claimed she was working on toll receipts and not asleep. By that time we had waited 1.5hours for the main meals (we even asked for starters to come with the mains). I asked for the bill which I shouldn’t of payed because it was diabolical service. The waitress in question didn’t even apologise for ruining our evening nor did the back room staff.The little food I saw come out to other customers looked delicious, it’s a shame we never got to try it. We ended the night on a 2p machines and a takeaway Chinese in our caravans at 10.45pm. ( more junk minus the chips) .Thank you V-Namese for ruining our evening.

What with Covid, thunderstorms and a Sunday evening, it was challenging to find somewhere open beyond 8pm , but V-Namese was and the food was very good - tasty, spicy and a welcome relief from chips with everything which seems to be the staple eating choice in Norfolk. However the one waitress serving was constantly having to apologise for the delays in getting food out to the tables on time, so some work is needed between the kitchen and the front of house. If you have the time - try it, you won't be disappointed

Bit of a mixed bag 4 adults all had different mains but shared the meat starter. The starter was enjoyed by everyone. However, the mains were hit and miss with our choices. The waitress worked tirelessly on her own and maybe would have smiled a bit more if she wasn't overworked.

No air con but had fans blowing. Lovely chicken satay. Chicken noodles were a bit bland but beef noodles better. Disappointingly not taking part in eat out to help out.

We spent few nights in Great Yarmouth we really struggled for a restaurant. As this place had good reviews and good hygiene rating we decided to go there for a late meal- we were wandering up and down the promenade looking for a place to eat for ages. Staff at V-Namese were really professional and fully adapted CoVid-19 measures. Place and bathrooms were super clean too. As I never had Vietnamese food I went for vegetarian sharing starter and braised tofu with vermicelli noodles. There was also a nice choice for kids. I must say, all dishes were totally amazing. Superb peanut sauce (Unsure if it was satay) with another spicy dip complimented tofu, spring rolls and summer rolls perfectly. I felts super comfortable there plus you could really see that the food was prepared with fresh, good quality ingredients. Lady that was there was also super helpful and gave us guidance on some landmarks and places worth seeing. Next time I’m in Great Yarmouth or surrounding areas, I will be coming back!

My partner and I found this fantastic Vietnamese restaurant for a lunch and were very happy with the food and service we received. As a Vietnamese native myself, I can 100% say that this is by far one of the best places with a wonderful selection on the menu and delicious dishes - that is outside my mum's cooking! Will be visiting again on our next trip back!

Beautiful vegetarian food. We had the vegetarian share platter to start then twi soups. Simple stunning. We will be back.

This gem has a great selection of dishes on their extensive menu. Service was fantastic and we were well looked after. Definitley get the Summer Rolls to start and the Pork Stew to follow. Finish it all off with a nice, sweet Vietnamese Coffee.

Had a really tasty meal here tonight as part of a party of 8. I booked the table on Facebook Messenger and the response was very quick, I also pre ordered all our food on there too. The food came out really quickly and was delicious! I had high expectations from reading through their reviews, but it was better than I was expecting!To start I had 2. Meat Selection - this included chicken spring rolls, summer rolls, fried chicken wings and chicke saté. All of the food was very fresh, and came out with a selection of dipping sauces. For main I had 27. V-Namese chilli beef with a side of 45. Egg noodles. This was very tasty and I would highly recommend the chilli beef. Beef was very juicy and lots of flavours going on. Service was friendly. Overall, the meal was fantastic and a great variety on offer, I would highly recommend to all, I will be back in the near future. The price was also very reasonable and drinks were cheap too!Thank you for great food.

Our first taste of Vietnamese food. Will certainly try again after this experience.. Main course are only £5-6, so won't break the bank.

Very nice food, fast service, decor is a little dated and lacks some comfort. It was clean and the waitress was kind to explain the dishes, which i enjoyed.

I dined here on the 3/1/20. I had the rice noodles with vegan prawns which was absolutely amazing. Big portions and really nice staff, not too expensive either.

9 of us ate here this evening and we were all impressed. The food was delicious. I had squid to start and it was gorgeous. My main was braised tofu and vermicelli. I really enjoyed it. Everything was so tasty. If you go, make sure you have a Vietnamese hot coffee. It's amazing.Final word goes to the kind staff and management. They're doing some wonderful things for charity. Great place. A must visit.

I didn't really have high expectations but we were seated quickly and service was attentive but not over bearing. Chilli chicken wings had a lovely kick to them, chilli beef was tender and tasty, the vermicelli with grilled pork spring rolls was the best I've tasted and came in a huge bowl. The only disappointment was the beef broth was too salty and everything seemed quite expensive at about about £1 more per dish than in London but we enjoyed it so much, it was worth it

Our second visit to V-namese was as good as the first. Friendly service and wonderful food with fresh and balanced flavours. The mango salad is highly recommended. Delighted to discover clean toilets in a town which often ignores this important element.

I'm a huge fan of asian food and was thrilled to discover V-Namese as an option other than fish and chips or pizza. It was wonderful to see so many vegetarian options on the menu. I was over the moon to find that the tofu was cooked to perfection in every dish that we tried. The summer rolls were the best I've ever had. Great, attentive service too. Beautiful, authentic fresh flavours that I already can't wait to go back for.

Really excellent fresh Vietnamese food at reasonable prices. Best to get rice as a side to the main course and that’s enough per person...This is a few blocks off the front as you head into residential areas so would never have found without seeing existing positive reviews on TripAdvisor - thank you!

My friend is a pescatarian and I am a vegetarian and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Would strongly recommend the fried ice cream. Very friendly, served quickly.

I visited this restaurant on a recommendation and found it to be pretty good overall.

We were told when we arrived the service may take a bit more time as they were busy - only 30-40% full??...anyways they did warn us.

Always raves about the food here. It was and mostly still is, great food. Starters were superb, summer rolls and Chicken Satay. Mains were also really good.....chilli egg fried rice blows your head off. Value for money is good too.....But, two things to mention. Deep fried ice cream was poor. Had it before and it was nice, but tonight...it tasted like the ice cream was off...or dig up from the back of the fridge and originally purchased some time ago.

Starters were good, but they had no spare ribs and no noodles, how do you run a restaurant with no noodles, we won’t be going back. Very disappointed

The food was really good and we all enjoyed it. However, the service was very slow and we had to wait a fair bit for our food to come out. We even had to remind the waitress a few times for our drinks to arrive.

Cute little resteraunt with friendly staff. Turned up after a late shift and they still accommodated us. Food was AWESOME. chef came and chatted to us afterwards making the meal an even better experience. Would definitely recommend the wings!

In my opinion this is not a place you need to dress up for, it has a very traditional and unpretentious feel.

As someone else mentioned, don't be put off by the location. A brilliant little place and fantastic food. We ate quite late and were the only ones in the restaurant and we could tell all the food was cooked fresh for us. A great range of choices, recommend getting a few dishes and sharing them as it means you can try a large variety of foods! Also recommend the Vietnamese iced coffee, it was delicious!

Lovely but hidden down a very quiet side street! Food was excellent. Less than 5 min walk from beach front.

Freshly cooked and tasty Vietnamese food. Handy for the Hippodrome Circus. Very friendly service with a special welcome for children. Our 9 year old grandson loves the chilli beef and egg noodles, as do we. The pork and fish dishes are equally enjoyable. For drivers, and children, we can recommend the fresh lemonade with orange.

Don't be put off by the location, we almost were and what a mistake that would have been! The food was so tasteful, you could tell it had been freshly cooked and there was a good selection. Staff were friendly, didn't feel rushed. Would definitely return!

So lovely! We had lunch for my birthday today and it was great. The kids food and little boxes were amazing, my children had the noodles and they really enjoyed them. Food was tasty and authentic. Staff were lovely and everything was reasonably priced. As it was my birthday they gave me a little gift that was so sweet and unexpected. 5 stars, will definitely visit again.

Booked by a friend for lunch, we arrived & it was closed as it usually is Saturday day time. However they were expecting us & we were seated & given menus while waiting for the rest of our party (8 adults, 2 toddlers) we were the only people there so the kids could move about freely & the staff interacted & played with them. The food was delicious, fresh, hot & very reasonable. We were treated excellently by our hostess & particularly enjoyed the background music, very tranquil. Loved the photo card of the food too. Chopsticks were offered to all as well as cutlery. Excellent way to introduce the newbies of the group! The kids menu was smaller versions of the adults ones. We don't do nuggets generally so the kids can experience a range of foods. Their noodles vanished & they were given kids treats boxes with goodies. At the end, the birthday lady was presented with a gift bag of chocs, wine & chopsticks...never heard of restaurant doing this! Absolutely fantastic for our needs & we will be returning soon!

Great birthday lunch out 8 Adults and two children under 4. They catered brilliantly and offered to bring children’s meals out first and then presented them with a goodie box. Fruit cocktail, carton of juice, tissues, toy and a balloon. Brought us lots of wet wipes and napkins as well. Food was great, staff were lovely and at the end they presented the birthday girl (lady) with a lovely bag full of goodies.

Visited here while away for a couple of days, first time we had tried vitnatmese food and would definitely recommend it. Starters and mains were lovely, best dish was the pork which we had for our mains, can't remember what it was called though.

My wife and I tried this restaurant at the recommendation of extended family and, in short, I'm really glad we did!

Passed this place on a cold wet afternoon,looked at the menu and liked the look of the dishes but thought they were a bit cheap and so probably not very good.Returned a few hours later not really sure what to expect and was so pleasantly surprised by the quality and freshness of the food. Between three of us we shared chicken,squid and prawn main dishes with vegetable noodles and egg fried rice.Starters of prawn crackers and vegetable spring rolls.Everything was perfect, really memorable food.We had a nice bottle of white wine to go with it and the bill was less than £45.I have seen previous reviews that complained about a long wait,we didn't have this but if I'm in the area again I really wouldn't mind waiting as the food is that good.

Great options for vegans like myself and veggies like my boyfriend! Food was all lovely, and I loved the Halloween decor 👻 only downside is that the portions are a bit small but we had great service 😊

No air conditioning and the door is closed so this place is hot! Fans are on the counter, unused. We waited 60 mins until my daughter’s kid’s meal showed up. Pity that no one else’s food showed up for another 30 mins. By that time, grandparents had become fractious so I asked for their order to be take away instead of eat in and they returned to the hotel with daughter. I stayed with my son.

Just got back from vamese rders takingrestaurant and was very disappointed, food was loverly but the service has gone downhill pretty quick if you want a long wait the be propered, we waited nearly an hour for order to be taken and we never got starter, also other people comming in for food they got there's before we even got ours it was really busy orders not taken correctly, just mayhem,we booked for7.30 we were still waiting till nine o clock, 2 staff couldn't cope in the kitchen what staff was in the kitchen, people even walking out, we've been there lots of times this was our anniversary what a complete let down if have to think again before I went again.

Just been to the Vietnamese food was good as always but the service was a real let down if they got your order right you could consider yourself lucky the only people who were served very fast by a long way were Vietnamese what a surprise staff desperately needed here to stop the customers walking out including the Vietnamese so all in all a bad night was had by all

We visited V-Namese early evening on Bank Holiday Monday. We were seated quickly and the restaurant were happy to accommodate us with a sleeping baby in pram.

The food was excellent however the service was slow and we didn't think it was that busy. We had to wait an hour. The staff were friendly and polite but could have been a little more attentive for example tried to get more drinks and couldn't get their attention. Also it was very hot inside. The food was excellent though and that's what we went for after all.

We visited restaurant on Saturday evening, food was really tasty, clean well maintained . Great quality food no disappointment accept King Fish was not what we expected, otherwise everything was spot on. Careful ordering spicy as you will get what you ask for . Service was also friendly and welcoming. Would definitely come back.

We booked for 8pm and were instantly hut with walking into an oven. We were pointed to a table in a corner which was even hotter. We waited and waited and waited for some attention which was a proving more and more difficult in the heat. We eventually got a menu but offeeed no drinks yet. The heat was just too much to bear. No windows open, no air con and kids grizzlingdidnot help. Before my husband and I passed out we decided to leave. We gavw our apologies and said it was the heat and they just shrugged. Maybe a lucky eacape

We have been visiting this restaurant for several years, and it has gradually got busier and more popular. We love the braised pork and chicken pho soup (pictured), and the summer rolls, but its all good.

Waitresses have broken English so when ordering as a newbie quite hard to ask for help other than the pictures . food was good but there was an initial wait ( we were told that ) When the starter came (which was delicious ) and went we waited over a hour for our main, which the waitresses never updated us, they worked incredibly hard as restaurant was 3/4 s full but even so over a hour was too long, would I go back probably yes as curious to this cuisine but worried the whole evening may be spent waiting

Brought here by friends and without then would never have come. Would have missed out on a real treat.

Have eaten here in the past and thoroughly enjoyed experience. However on last occasion not so good. Turned up on spec on a Sunday evening and apart from two tables with some noisy guests it was relatively quiet. Food still excellent and staff friendly and obliging. The wine list however needs some serious attention in terms of what was available from the list and in what sizes they are able to serve selected wine. Some white wine vintages seriously too old to be served. If they sort this out I will be delighted and ready to visit again soon

Can’t say a lot really apart from how disappointed I was. This restaurant had been recommended by friends as having wonderful food so I thought I’d give it a try for the first time. We went at lunch time and the restaurant was empty apart from a small group of Asian ladies sat on the table opposite.

I visited for the second time as the food was lovely the first time, but it was very different to the first time. There were three tables including us and we waited 45 minutes for the food. Not only that, I also found an elastic...

This restaurant is situated just off the Marine Parade seafront in Great Yarmouth about 100 yards up St Peter's Road. The food is of good quality and is inexpensive although the surroundings are a little basic. I can recommend this restauarnt and will visit there...

Not sure whats happened here but this is not the place it was, waited ages (around 1 hour) for food to come out and it was just not what it once was the flavours, presentation etc , no ribs available either, and only 6 chicken wings left, I ordered 3 of my favourite wing dishes and got 1 as was told there was only 6 wings left enough for 1 dish and very early evening too (but still the waitress took the next tables order of wings and did not mention that there was none left..!!) very inexperienced young girls waiting on tables they did what they could, the food was just not as it used to be, so very much looked forward to our visits here but alas it was a let down, I started the original Tripadvisor reviews and always left an honest review all of which i meant every word of the 5 star ratings, it was one of my favourite places EVER, amazing well presented Vietnamese food and the value was second to none.

4 of us came for a birthday meal. Enjoyed the food but was nothing amazing. Decor and atmosphere lacking. Price was very good but I wouldn't have wanted to pay more as thought it was just okay. Meat platter very greasy, everything was fried. Service was good but at times a little slow, especially when wanting the bill.

A friend told us they waited 90 mins for their food to arrive. I decided to risk it, thinking it was probably a one off. We ordered our food at 18.23, our food arrived at 19.25. The food was ok but i don't think it was worth the wait, esp if the children are hungry. You have been warned! If you can be bothered to wait, try the tofu with satay sauce.

Recently opened and only appeared to have 2 staff i.e. one congrats and one serving. Whilst pleasant waitress obviously inexperienced but did her best. Waited at least 1/2 hour for starters which were served one by one with 5/10 min. intervals. everyone had finished theirs before I got mine. Similar with mains. Fortunately food cooked fresh and tasty.

We went for part of my mum's 60th birthday celebration week (!) with a group of friends. I have never heard of it but was pleasantly surprised by the quality and selection of the food - both vegetarian and vegan options. The restaurant took the trouble to put up a 60th birthday banner and even brought out a small bottle of wine and chocolates in a bag at the end with an indoor firework. A very nice experience with freshly cooked food. I even enjoyed the vegan dishes! I didn't leave feeling bloated either, which is often common with this type of food. Definitely would go back

I booked this restaurant for a family birthday for 7 on the reviews seen on this site and I was not disappointed it was fabulous . We had a vegan in our party and the staff were even kind enough to ask if she would like one of our rice dishes without egg , the menu itself was clearly marked for vegetarian and vegans alike. The staff were attentive and knowledgable about the menu too . The excellent food was fresh and divine , yes we waited for it but it was well worth it . The area itself is run down and it's such a shame as this might put people off visiting . When I booked I mentioned a birthday and there was a banner on the wall most thoughtful touch of a small gift with an indoor firework at the end of our meal .

This is the worse takeaway I ever had, they couldn't manage a simple order. The noodles had no taste and hard. The restaurant was empty.Don't waste your money here, they cannot cook. Confused at previous good reviews, they obviously don't know better, much better food in London.

Four of us went last night, Saturday 27 August. I phoned up in the afternoon to try and book for the evening but was told I couldn't, nor any guidance about whether it would be busy at around 8pm so we decided to take a chance. At 8pm the waitress said they were full but the owner(?) said we could have a table in 20 mins so we came back at 8.30pm and were seated.Everyone was really nice, we ordered food and were told that it would be quite a long wait - well the food didn't arrive till nearly 10pm and when it did they confessed that they did not have the sea bass that had been ordered! The chef had cooked King Fish instead but my friend doesn't like king fish so there was sone caffuffle as we tried to find out what would be quick too get to our table. Moods improved as we ate the starters although I can barely remember them as we woofed them down - summer rolls and Vietnamese pancake - delicious, I can remember that. I had braised chicken with ginger and lemongrass which was light and very tasty. As previous reviewers said the food was all lovely, the staff were too but there were a few more funny service incidents such as the last dessert not turning up - when the waitress asked if we wanted anything else, we said yes the chocolate cake we ordered ten minutes ago and she said 'oh we don't have any of that' - no mention before that nor the opportunity to order and alternative. By that time, it was nearly 11pm and we decided enough was enough. We really enjoyed ourselves and it wouldn't put us off going again. It was just all a bit surprising on the service front, which we would try to take into account next time - ie be prepared for a wait and not so hungry when we arrived and making sure that what we ordered was actually available but would def recommend to others. And, in reference to other reviews, the closed up Thai restaurant opposite has been bought so hopefully something will open there.

Walked in to an empty restaurant at 12.30 Bank Holiday Friday fearing the worst from an area of Great Yarmouth that's the last place you would expect to find a fine dining experience. But bear with it folks cos this place is a winner. The homemade lemonade was delicious & the summer rolls were exquisite. We were given a choice of dips to suit the kids & went for the Vietnamese chicken wings, grilled pork, spring rolls & spare ribs - all delicious & served without a long wait. Served orange segments to finish (nice touch to cleanse the palate) & if you get offered a fox's glacier mint then take one as they're actually homemade ice cream flavoured sweets. Flavours such as banana, strawberry & cream, rum & raisin. Will def be back for more next time we come.

Walked in mid week and was immediately seated. There were two other tables of fellow diners. We had two young children and were provided with high chairs and extra cutlery if we needed it. Service was very slow but friendly. Food was fabulous, authentic and fresh. We had the homemade lemonade, prawn starters that included summer rolls, satay, filo king prawns and chilli prawns. All delicious. The dipping sauces were not homemade but still tasty. The beef pho and chicken spicy noodle soup had broth with a real depth of flavour. The morning glory and grilled pork noodle salad was well seasoned and fresh. Overall a lovely experience and somewhat expected for the location. Will definitely be visiting again.

A small but friendly restaurant with a big menu. The range of dishes on the menu were quite impressive and the food certaily did not let you down. Every dish we tried was well made and had us wanting more. We were there with friends, 9 of us in total and the restaurant called me twice to suggest that we should select some dishes in advance as Saturday night is busy and they did not want us to wait around. They were right! It was busyand we did wait but it was worth it! Food was splendid when it did arrive and in spite of being very busy the service was friendly. Definitely go there again.

Visited this restaurant again. We were just as impressed as we were before. The food is lovely, freshly cooked, tasty with a healthy feel to it. A great price all round including the wine. Thank you, Gary & Julie. Kilbrannan Guest House.

Please don't let the location put you off as it's off the sea front and there are a few run down buildings near by ... the restaurant it self is clean and relaxing.. Staff absolutely brilliant .. The food well I couldn't fault nothing .. everything is cooked to order it's so fresh so be prepared that there will be a waiting time but just relax its worth it .. We ordered a selection of items and was a taste sensation.. Very good value for money as well Mixed prawn starter to share ( amazing ) Mains .. braised pork(amazing ) / chillI beef / squid / pho beef soup(amazing )/ rice Desert . Banana fritters Drinks / bottle of wine / two beers /jug of water /coffees Total price £ 69 .. very good value Keep up the brilliant work guys see you soon

My wife and I had dinner here on Saturday the 15th of July, having read the reviews on trip advisor. First of all, let me get the bad points out of the way first. The restaurant is on St Peters Rd in Great Yarmouth, just around the corner from the Hippodrome Circus. It's really not the nicest part of town, and the boarded up Thai restaurant over the road, and discarded rubbish is really unsightly, but please don't let that put you off. We sat at the window, which was probably a mistake, because of the eyesore over the road. Next time we will sit further inside. The service was good, but not great, the staff appear to be new....but, they are trying ever so hard and will only get better. Now...the food....Oh My God it is just incredible. We have never tried Vietnamese food before, and it was simply sensational. Not as greasy as Thai or Chinese, but full of unusual complimentary flavours. My wife had summer rolls, and I tried them. Incredible. Never tasted anything like it before, dipped in either a fish or house sin sauce. Beautiful textures. I had chicken satay, and it knocks spots off Thai chicken satay. Chilli beef for main, was spicy as expected, but also flavoursome. My wife had Vermicelli and this was super too. We shared a bottle of wine, and the....bill ?? Couldn't believe it....£36.50We don't live in the area, but we do travel down to Great Yarmouth a few times per year. So, without a shadow of doubt, we will be back. If you live in the area, you are lucky....I would be here every week if we lived closer.

After eating in the town for 3 days and struggling to find another restaurant we liked the look of though after reading the reviews give it a try.Definitely worth a visit staff very nice ,food all enjoyed our meals in fact one was sea bass though a piece of fish but it was a whole fish really well cooked.All had starter ,main course,side dish ,bottle of wine and one extra glass came to £62.00 very good value.Nice wine list at very competitive prices.Pity it's a bit tucked away and at the present looking at a boarded up old building but unfortunately that seems the norm in the town.

For some time since reading other reviews have been meaning to visit this restaurant. Regret missing out on this for at least a year. I would personally just walk past but it worth the wait beautiful fresh food and great prices and service to match Hopefully now to get the whole family to return to sample much more of the menu than what we tried as a couple. The waitress brought me cutlery as she saw I was struggling with the chopsticks. Looking forward already to visit with the rest of family. Loved the pictures to accompany the menu to explain some of the dishes we were not familiar with.

Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Food was so tasty, fresh and above all, affordable. (Quite different to the restaurants on the seafront that seem to charge upwards of £12 for a main course.)

This was our first taste of Vietnamese food, and what a way to start.The young lady that greeted us, and took our orders was very helpful in advising us on the foods available.The food was superb, what more can I say?Starters were vegetable spring rolls, and Sriracha chicken wings - both very tasty.I had Chef's own Chilli Beef with rice, and my partner had Stir Fried Beef with noodles, again the meals were fantastic. I like hot food, and this was good, though my partner is not so keen on the heat, she did like the food I chose, as there was more flavour than all out heat (as It should be).The wine menu was very reasonably priced, which was an added bonus.We would certainly return here for another meal, next time we are in Great Yarmouth.

Loved the food at this place. For a change, fried food wasn't dripping oil. Each dish had a distinct flavor and the quantities were good as well. It's easier to choose what to eat as they provide a menu with pictures of the dishes. This place is definitely recommended for a nice meal.

We stayed two nights in Great Yarmouth. The tripadvisor reviews took us to this restaurant the first night and the food was so delicious that we immediately booked again for the next night. The menu is extensive, with plenty of choice for vegetarians as well as lovely seafood dishes. There is also a good and reasonably priced wine list. Service is friendly and helpful.

about 50yrd behind the seafront and harry Ramsdens we discovered this lovely little restaurant. Service was good prices reasonable and premises were very clean.

I don't often write a review after eating out, but this place is such a gem, and such a surprise in an undistinguished back street in a seaside town - NOT a location I'd really expect to find Vietnamese cuisine! - that I just have to tell everyone about it!Spotlessly clean restaurant, really helpful waiter who explained all about the dishes, wonderful menu, everything obviously cooked fresh to order...what more could you want? I am going to spend MONTHS working my way through this fantastic menu, but started this time with summer rolls (could easily eat my own weight in these heavenly morsels served with 3 different dipping sauces, all delicious). Ordered the noodle bowl with pork and pork spring rolls which I am going to have to order again the next 50 times I visit and I may very well be addicted to it. My buddy had a bowl of pho - so fragrant, so delicious, so filling! Loved the side plate of fresh herbs and lime to pimp your pho just how you like it. We'd have loved to try dessert but were too full! And you will not believe how reasonably priced everything is...give your tastebuds a treat and go now now NOW!!

Lovely, fresh, and delicious Vietnamese food. Large portions and friendly waiting staff. Baked fish was absolutely fantastic.

Visited this restaurant for a friend's birthday.Saturday night and they were very busy we did not book but they were very accomodating, service a little slow but it was worth the wait I had Chilli Chicken which was delicious and the rice much better then any Chinese well worth a visit.

Great, tasty well priced food. Wasn't a single dish ( and we ordered a wide selection) I didn't enjoy. Freshly prepared, no yucky ' Chinese type' saucesService..accommodating if little slow.Looking forward to next visit

We ate Asian food on two successive nights whilst in Great Yarmouth, but our meal at V-Namese was by far the best food, and also best value.We recommend the seafood sharing platter as a starter, and especially enjoyed the salt and chilli prawns and summer rolls with a wonderful choice of dipping sauces.If you like something a little different we would also suggest you try the chilli rice. This restaurant is a little off the beaten track but we highly recommend seeking it out.

Excellent food - if you like Asian food give this restaurant a try, Salt and chilli squid perfectly cooked - Vietnamese fried chicken wings also very good. Star of the show was the Vietnamese chilli chiken! Very good wine list, very competitively priced

In the words of Jamie Lawson I defiantly wasn't expecting that, been visiting Yarmouth for a number of years for work and had average fish and chips and frankly poor seafood at some of the supposedly classy restaurants. Tonight wandered past the V-Namese restaurants and gave it a go, to start with had the salt and chilli squid and as good as I have ever had, followed with noodles, morning glory and chilli chicken all outstanding. If you are happy with the various KFC apologists then fine, but if you want something memorable visit V-Namese

We liked the basic dining experience here and the food met the mark. Very Vietnamese in character and style.
