Cosy restaurant without feeling crowded. Great portions, and friendly professional service. The Malteser cheesecake blew us away, I only wish I knew how to make it myself 😁

Fish & chips brilliant, haggis is the best I have tried, hunter's chicken is one of the best. The food is excellent! Service is fast! One thing which can be improved is the atmosphere - make it a bit cosier (not really critical, though). Keep it up, guys! Thank you for superb food!

A place a stone's throw from the center of Inverness, small and with few seats but with a welcoming atmosphere. The girls who served us were very kind and helpful. Good food but not very tasty. Unfortunately we found a lack of salt on all courses. The Malteser cheesecake, on the other hand, is very good. Average price.

Now a long standing favourite restaurant, if anything the food has gotten even better. The staff are still friendly and efficient, and the food is presented excellently and tastes amazing.....I particularly recommend the Stornoway black pudding in whiskey sauce, simply amazing. By far and away one of the best places to eat in Inverness, and for that reason you really will want to book as early as possible.

The food is outstanding, the service brilliant, this has got to be the best restaurant in Inverness.

Went there on Friday with my brother as we were in Inverness for the weekend. The service to start with was good and the food was excellent. We decided against pudding so I had another drink and my brother had a coffee. We were sitting chatting and deciding if we were going to be having another drink or go back to hotel and have a drink there when the bill was put on our table which we had not asked for as though they were in a rush to get rid of us. It was only about 9 pm. We then asked for card machine and while my brother was paying the girl who I found out was called Rachel stood with her arms and legs crossed which I found very rude. I sent a email the next day to complain but the email address was Rachel....so obviously she must be the boss so I did not get a reply. Very disappointed and we certainly won't be going back.

Food was really good quality and tasted delicious, staff were very attentive and friendly.

It was a great lunch. Portions were BIG and filling. I loved the atmosphere: intimate and warm.

Mein Freund und ich hatten beide ein 3 Gänge Menü mit alkoholischen Getränken. Die hausgemachte Suppe mit dem selbst gebackenen Brot war unser Highlight. Als Hauptgang gab es Pilzrisotto und Curry. Beides hat gut geschmeckt und satt gemacht war jedoch Durchschnitt. Die Dessertkarte war sehr einladend und vielseitig. Beide Nachspeisen, Cheesecake und Crème Brulée waren sehr gut. Die Drinks waren gut gemixt, nicht zu stark und voller Geschmack. Fazit: sehr zu empfehlen.

Had lunch today. Service was quick and efficient. Food was exceptional. I had the burger which is just as good as I remember from 5 years ago when I last visited. Would definitely recommend. Will be back

Lovely restaurant situated close to the centre of Inverness. It has a good menu with food to suit all tastes. Everything was well presented and tasted delicious.

Had dinner here whilst visiting Inverness, and having read reviews. Food was good, but I feel somewhat over rated; felt more like "pub grub" than that of a restaurant. Probably wouldn't visit again.

Went on Sunday the 5th of November with our friends . Had an Excellent meal , service Excellent and dessert was out of this world. Would definitely go again and would recommend to family and friends .

Lovely Scottish cooking that all 4 of us enjoyed. I greatly enjoyed my haggis/chicken with whisky sauce. It was busy on a Sunday night & the staff were attentive. Nice wines at a good price.

Came in for lunch yesterday, thankfully we had booked in advance as when we arrived a sign said they were fully booked for the whole day. My roast dinner was fantastic - I didn't leave a single scrap on my plate! My husband's fish and chips was excellent too. We shared a banana and toffee pavlova for pudding which was beautifully presented and delicious. Service was excellent too. This place never disappoints.

The salmon with prawn and brandy sauce was to die for and the onion rings are the lightest and crispiest I've ever had!

Small restaurant with a feel of someone's house. Very intimate atmosphere. The food is traditional cuisine with a clear focus on local produce. The food is cooked to perfection like your mother would cook for you if your mother was an excellent chef! Enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere.

What a beautiful experience. Food was amazingly priced (we came for lunch), and so delicious. It was out first time trying haggis and was pleasantly surprised. Treated ourselves to dessert too, which were all super yummy! We came on a weekday for lunch and it was well packed, rang ahead for a table and thankfully one was available. The service was fantastic, with the waitresses attentive and accommodating. Would highly recommend!

Looked at the highly rated reviews (looking online for restaurants in the area, not knowing the place) and chose to go here on my date. I was not disappointed. Not only do the full bookings speak for itself, but the food was delicious, from the starters, to the mains to the dessert. I'd highly recommend this place. 👌

Absolute Empfehlung. Ich hatte Haggis, sollte man sich Mal trauen in Schottland! Und habe es nicht bereut. Mit einer hellen Bratensauce und Kartoffelpüree serviert war es sogar ganz lecker. Auch der Lammburger war super ! Bedienung sehr freundlich! Preise wirklich human.

Hier habe ich zum ersten mal Haggis gegessen und fand es köstlich. Tatsächlich fanden wir dieses Restaurant im Internet auch als Empfehlung für Haggis. Und zumindest dieses Haggis würde ich als delikat bezeichnen. Dabei hatte ich als Starter die Haggis Bon Bons und dann das traditionelle "Haggis Neeps and Tatties" (sorry falls falsch geschrieben) Das Personal nett, Ambiente casual und die Preise besser als in einem blöden Inn auf dem Lande, in dem wir Tage zuvor deutlich schlechter gegessen hatten. Ich kann es nur empfehlen, allerdings sollte man tunlichst reservieren. Und nochmal zum Haggis - give it a try.

Visited Inverness for our annual trip and once again chose to eat at Urquharts. As usual the food was beautiful. Nothing at all we could fault and the service was excellent.

Strange welcome, we were about 15 minutes early for our 7pm table, we were told to come back at 7pm, so walked along the river to kill the time. Upon our return, we were given a table and we were glad that we returned the food and service are really very good. We enjoyed the Steak Pie and Risotto. I would differently book a table when I am back in Inverness.

This venue does not look much from outside but if you walk on by you have made a big mistake. The upstairs restaurant is small but not overcrowded with too many tables. Staff were friendly and helpful. The starters and main meals were absolute perfection, we will be returning for more.

Food was great, not too dry and had good flavour. Only very minor point was the salad was a little gritty. Overall a great experience with good portion sizes. Had no issues getting through on the phone.

I ate here after arriving in Inverness on a Sunday and finding most restaurants fully booked. This one was as well, but since I was alone they fit me in. It's a cozy space, the service was prompt and friendly, and the meal was delicious.

Do not be fooled by the outside. This is a fantastic small restaurant with great local food and tremendous home made puddings. Good value and good service. With some good bottled beers too. Highly recommend

Lovely cosy setting. Recommend to book as it was very busy on the Thursday night we were there and several groups who hadn't booked were turned away. Food was excellent and staff were very friendly. Only small criticism would be that the 2 wait staff seemed to be very rushed at times they could have had another wait staff on and it would have been a bit more relaxed.

This was hands down the best meal I had in Scotland. The ambiance was very warm and authentic, with a view to a beautiful Inverness street. The service and staff were friendly and welcoming. But the kicker was the food. I had haggis for the first time and couldn't get enough of it. We also got the steak pie, the salmon, and the black pudding with the poached egg. Everything was fantastic. The flavors were unique and so delicious! You have to make a reservation, so don't hesitate! If you are in Inverness, don't miss it. And if you aren't in Inverness, you should go just for this restaurant.

We went to this fish restaurant on a cold night in April and I have to say that the fish and chips we had were delicious, excellent value served quicker than we thought. Will most definitely go again next time that we're in Inverness.

Our first time at Urquhart's Restaurant. A great evening with friends. The staff were superb, a great menu with something for everyone, well cooked and presented and at affordable prices. Many thanks to all the staff and will definitely return.

Resturant recommended arrived at 7.30. Beef stroganoff bit bland. Dessert look and sounded good, didn't have one. Given bill before finished wine. Closes just after nine but felt rushed to leave. No tip. Not recommended if you eat after 6.00pm

US tourist here...This place was incredible. I would recommend making a reservation as we snuck in the last available table for the night. The food was spectacular and the pavlova dessert was to die for. I consider myself quite the sweet tooth. And the pavlova was by far the greatest dessert I ever encountered.

We just walked in on the off chance they had space and I'm really glad we did it's a small place with limited seats so I'd probably book ahead, traditional food, served hot, I couldn't see if they had parking but you can probably find a parking space on the street.
