I absolutely loved Urban Tandoor, the food was delicious and the staff was extremely accommodating for our large group. I would say they make a spectacle out of birthdays! Thank you so much!

Went with some work colleagues. Ordered onion bhajis, samosa chaat, biryani and chicken karahi. Only complaint was that the big chunks of onions in the karahi were literally separated from the rest of the dish - they should have been dissolved into it and barely noticeable. Reasonably priced, good service (although the staff need to wear uniforms, there was one waiter who looked like he was going to the beach afterwards), and nice decor. Recommended.

Visited on a Wednesday night with work colleagues. We booked a table which was probably a wise move - the restaurant was very busy. We ordered a range of dishes including Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Madras and Butter Chicken - along with sides. All of the food was delicious. Service was excellent, even though it was very busy. The atmosphere was great. A great experience - highly recommended!

I should not even give one star here. Very arrogant staff. They never take your booking at the first place. And when after ages you get the table, the service is terrible. Portion size is small as well. Very limited veg options.

Stylish and delicious food, well presented and with impeccable service, especially considering that we walked in without a reservation. We found it a bit loud but we’re older, so I’m guessing that the vibe suits a slightly younger customer…..best vegetable samosas I’ve had! Awesome Malabar Lamb with lemon rice.

One of our regular haunts. Food is beautiful. Tonight was bitterly cold, and the constant coming and going from delivery people was a distraction and let in the cold, which made the experience less wonderful than it usually is.

My wife and I came with some friends to celebrate our wedding. The food was simply excellent (all of the dishes were top notch), but the service made the event unforgivable. Special mention for Raghu who took such good care of the entire group and made this a day to remember. We will definitely be back not only for the excellent food, but for such excellent service as well! Thank you all so much!

Wow, this place is worth all the five stars by miles! The layout is welcoming and friendly- the poppadoms are fresh with really smart chutneys, a real hot one included (never enough!) I felt compelled to choose the Goan Vindaloo, it came with a warning which was justified, it is arresting in its heat, but the taste of the genuine vindaloo still holds .. lovely. The garlic Nan was simply one of the best I’ve ever eaten- really well made. The Paneer dish my companion had was really nice too. I’m sure I’ll have an interesting morning but what the hell when it tastes this good!

It was OK sadly nothing great. Being used to the quality curry's in Glasgow I found this slighley disappointing

We have been waiting for ages to come here , and we've recently had some sad family news , so we decided on a date night and honestly it did not disappoint. All the staff were so friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely incredible. The lamb Saag and peshwari naan was the best I've ever eaten. Thank you to Carlos for looking after us too. We can't wait to come back !

My partner and I visited from London after seeing the iconic TikToks and it absolutely lives up to the hype. Food was delicious and good size portions. The staff were really friendly and even treated us to a special birthday surprise. Cannot recommend enough!!

After a few days in England and not be comfortable with the places and food we tasted, we decided to try here. Our sensations have been awesome, nice food, big rations and amazing flavours. Totally recommended. Without any kind of doubt, if we return to Bristol, we will back here. Thank you Raku for your kindness and nearness, you are a fantastic person.

The food was OK a little bland for us but the very young, less discerning clientel didn't seem to mind as it's cheap and very cheerful 🤗 Our waiter Carlos was lovely 😍

Good, muted atmosphere, but the people are too close and it ruins it, not completely but not as separated one would like. The food didn't have a lot of taste honestly. The starter was better than the curry! Very surprising indeed. Portions have taken a hit in weight... Paratha was good. Beer was good. Overall, may come for round two,or may go somewhere else to try the other restaurants. Still, good to v. good.

The food is amazing!!!!! I definitely recommend the nann with coconut as a filling, (forgot the name already) also the spicy monkfish, it is quite spicy but just perfect spicy level for us. The service is also very nice.

Came here a month ago. Good food, peshawari naan is the best 10/10. Enjoyed the chicken dansaak and the chicken biriyani. The service was fine but staff were very busy. Not 100% in love with the layout as seems quite cramped with the tables being close together.

I enjoyed my first experience of Indian food here. Food was marvellous. I loved my paneer saag and peshwari naan. They did say it had a medium spice level, but it was more mild than anything. Service was attentive. And environment was too good. I would recommend everyone if they are searching for Indian cuisine in Bristol….

Had to visit on a recent trip to Bristol after watching these guys on Tiktok. The restaurant was busy and we didn't have a reservation but they managed to find us a table. The menus smaller than the Indian restaurants were used to up north, but it has plenty of options. The food was delicious, but the jalfezi could have done with a bit more umph. Staff were polite and the service was good.

First time here. Very busy with Christmas parties, but quickly served and very delicious! Lamb shank and chicken vindaloo were our dishes. Very good naan too ! Well done and will definitely come back. One of best Indians I have had in years !

I went online in search of a less stuffy/well decorated curry house, I was drawn to the pictures of the decor , and even the font of Urban Tandoor . The food was excellent , but I had no idea that the whole staff were Rock Stars in their own right ! Excellent night out , I can't wait to go back! Cheers !

Everything is 5 star, we had a lunch yesterday on our anniversary. The second time we were here and found better than the previous time.

Went for dinner last weekend. The food was delicious and the service was excellent! I had the lamb saag which was divine along with pilau rice and garlic naan! I would definitely come here again!

If you want to be herded like cattle then this is the place for you! I had booked a table for 17 people for a Friday evening at 7.30. We arrived 5 minutes early and waited in an overcrowded lobby. We were eventually hustled out onto the street and into another door and unceremoniously shown our table, it was considerably after 7.30 when we were seated. We had our main course then we were literaly hustled out of the door at 9, I hadn't even finished my drink. It seems that bookings are for one and half hours, I was unaware of that, there wasn't any time for a dessert and we weren't even asked if we would like one. The food was OK but nothing exceptional and it was more or less thrown at us. This was not done in a jolly larky kind of way. We spent well over £400 and were treated with contempt with no concern whatsoever that we were a group out to have a nice evening together. They just wanted us in and out as fast as possible, no doubt so the next lot of unsuspecting customers could also be treated like cattle. The success of Urban Tandoor means they are overbooking and actually creating an unpleasant atmosphere. I will never ever return. Edit: I had a reply from Urban Tandoor stating that we had closer to 2 hours; if being seated at the earliest of 7.35 and walking out of the door at 9 pm is anywhere near 2 hours, then they are extremely deluded. I have 16 people who can all verify the timings. Very poor response to my review Urban Tandoor,and no, you won't be seeing any of us again.

This place is downright fabulous. I found out about them through their appallingly hilarious amateur videos on IG & tik tok last year and booked a table on the strength of that alone. They do not disappoint! An encouragingly concise menu demonstrates that the food is prepared with attention, there are no huge long lists of unnecessary options. Still, the vegetarians and vegans in our group were more than happy. The atmosphere here is joyous and welcoming. Somewhat excitingly, the personalities from the videos were serving us at our table! The food was gorgeous, each dish very different from the next, and the overall service was swift and courteous. I hesitate to recommend Urban Tandoor really, as I want to be able to get a table when I want one, but I also want to share this delight.
