Very enjoyable evening with delicious food and attentive service. Would highly recommend and looking forward to our next visit already.

Really enjoyed our meal at Umbertos, staff were very welcoming & very knowledgeable about the menu. Explained the special board to us in great detail & showing us the fresh seafood available. All 3 courses were spot on & the lovely service rounded off a great evening.

This restaurant is in one of Hornchurch’s oldest buildings and has a great ambience. The staff are friendly and helpful, listening to other diners asking for variations always met with “no problem, I’ll do that for you”. The food was amazing, all 3 courses were beautifully cooked and presented. Best restaurant experience.

It was my 80th birthday meal with the family. Faultless from the moment we arrived until we left, it was a perfectly paced meal, with suitable time between courses. Our pleasure was their 100% interest. The selection of food suited all palates, and was both expertly introduced and wonderfully produced. The whole experience was a complete treat.

Another celebratory family meal. Once again the service and food were excellent. Never had a bad meal or experience here. They have one of the best special board I have seen in any restaurant and complete menu in itself.

From the moment you walk in and take in the quaint decor inside you are made to feel like a king and queen. Nothing is too much for the people who run this restaurant. A real hidden Hornchurch gem who more people need to know about. Every single dish was piping hot, delicious and priced well. The carbonara was something special as was the salmon linguine. The starters are amazing. Forget all the generic Italian food chains you may frequent. This is the one you want to go too. Authentic Italian food and a family run business. Antonio, Vincenzo and TIA(Thanks in advance 😉) you were amazing and we will be back again to try some more of your specials and staples! Food was lovely and the choice of menu was very good with lots of fresh fish. The setting was very relaxing. Staff were very attentive.

Have not been in ages and was not disappointed. Fantastic food, great explanation of every dish on the board, all food is fresh made to order. Starters were salmon and prawns wrapped and the garlic prawns. Garlic prawns were large and peeled. Main course was Skate (best ever), cooked perfectly and Cod In tomato, chilli and garlic sauce, beautiful. Nice bottle of chianti classico, and finished with Chocolate Orange Cake which was home made. The prices are the not for the faint hearted but worth every penny.

Visited the restaurant with a small group of friends. The entrance was down a pitch black alley and we walked passed the door as it appeared to be a private residence. Once inside the restaurant it was intimate and pleasant. There was a lot of choice which was good however, the food wasn't. Portions were small, food wasn't particularly hot, potatoes were under done to my taste. The food and drink was expensive, so overall it was very disappointing.

Myself and my better half have been dining at Umbertos for many years now. We have held family birthday parties here, my GF's 40th, Mother's Day celebrations, Valentine's night, Christmas and countless other nights. Often we just pop in for a quick plate of Spag Bol and a glass of wine on the way home for work. I can honestly say I have never had a single thing to complain about in all that time, the food has always been delicious and the wine perfect. Enzo and Gina have gone out of their way to make myself and my family feel like we are at home in their restaurant for many years now. Nothing is too much trouble and their attention and service is second to none. Tony and Sam and wonderful waiting staff and a credit to the restaurant, Tony often knows what I want to drink before I do! Enzo is very passionate about the food his restaurant serves and his description of the daily specials will make your mouth water as he goes into details of the ingredients and preparation. All in all Umbertos is a lovely, traditional, friendly, family run Italian restaurant with excellent food and an always warm welcome.

This place is as authentic as it gets big plates of italian food menu is big and very diverse something for every one and loads of specials huge wine list . The staff know everything on the menu every ingredient and how its cooked . Cant wait to get back here .

We had an amazing meal booked at late notice and managed to get a table. The lamb shank we both had was one of the best meals I've ever had. Service was great and it's a nice small warm place.

I've been looking to go to Umberto's for years. Tonight we finally got our backsides in gear to book a table. On arrival we were welcomed with big smiles and and the waiting staff took coats and placed them in their cloakroom. The layout of the restaurant is designed with lesser tables which means the staff can focus on service rather than trying to get as many people through the door as they can. Enzo and his staff made us feel at home and even read out and explained each dish on the specials board. Which makes the a la carte menu redundant due to the exciting offers on the board. I decided to go for the pork ribs to start, followed by lamb shank, finished off with the choc mint bomb for dessert. The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavour. I even tried my friends spinach and ricotta tortellini which was divine.. I'm having that next time!!! I will definitely be back as an independent restaurant is a far better experience than the majority of chains that are out there.

Íbamos a un espectáculo en un teatro local en 7. 30, así que podíamos venir temprano? No hay problema. Llegamos 10 minutos antes nos dijo que haría, y nos dieron la bienvenida.

Hemos querido probar este familiar restaurante italiano en Hornchurch por un largo tiempo. La primera vez que no me decepcionó. Por lo que parece ser un pequeño restaurante de la parte delantera, dentro puede acomodar un buen número de comensales, mientras aún íntimo ambiente. El servicio era muy amable. El menú, aunque principalmente italiano tenía algunos otros platos en el de hoy ofertas especiales. La comida no era barato, pero disfrutamos de nuestra visita.

Fuimos como una familia para su almuerzo día de la madre, así que esta crítica está basada en menú del día especial de su madre y no el estándar.

El servicio era impresionante y a hacer las cosas peor el tazón utilizada para mi pan fue llevado lejos y utilizado para otro par sin ser lavados! ! ! Dejamos los vasos sucios en el lado por más de 2 horas y luego porque me hicieron una queja el personal luego groseramente intentó rush. Si fue un día o lo que sea. . . Sinceramente, esperaba más de un restaurante italiano tradicional. ! ! !

¡Guau! Cenamos aquí por primera vez en la última noche y quedé impresionado con la calidad de la comida. Muy impresionado! Tan pronto como llegamos nos sentimos el ambiente cálido creado por los propietarios/Personal. Decidimos elegir el lugar de hoy especiales desde el menú. Tuve la gambas ajo, novio tenía el cóctel de gambas y cangrejo para empezar, tanto divinos. Para los principales, escogí la carne asada con puré y literalmente se derretía en mi boca, precioso! Había prometido que el bistec chuletón dijo fue preparado perfecto. Todo pulido con una botella de chianti. Sin duda volveremos de hecho, ambos nos dijo que tiene mimado, como ahora que no quiera comer en ningún otro sitio! Cuando nos íbamos nos reservamos para volver de nuevo.

We have been using Umbertos regularly for over 20 years, both as a couple for anniversaries and with friends and family for birthdays, although would not book for more than 8 as a small intimate place with soft back ground music (usually Andrea Bocelli!) No te molestes en recoger el menú - seguro para conseguir algo deliciosos del ofertas especiales. Hay algunos regulares especiales - el ravioli es de este mundo, como es el skate, y mi esposa que no come carne y me gusta la carne que siempre son muy satisfecho. Algunos comentarios más negativo que es un poco caro, pero para casera comida de buena calidad con un servicio atento y personalizado en un entorno agradable creo que recibes lo que pagas, y de todos modos, los precios en el sitio web, si es más de lo que quieras pagar no vaya. No cualquier pan o aceitunas al comienzo de las porciones de los platos principales y los aperitivos son grandes y no tienen espacio para tiramisú al final :)!

Un restaurante familiar que se esfuerza por agradar y hace un trabajo fantástico. La comida es excelente, una increíble variedad y a un costo razonable, todo cocinado a la perfección. Visitamos varias veces y mi esposa y yo hemos tenido una comida realmente agradable con el personal extremadamente atento y bien informado sobre la comida. Una velada cada vez y no hay nada que criticar.

Our neighbours had a birthday celebration here and took over the restaurant for their family and friends for the evening. We were served a three course meal from a selected menu of our choice. The portions were generous and the food absolutely divine.
