Great food, friendly and helpful staff

Gorgeous 'real' pub, lovely welcoming atmosphere, very friendly staff, food was freshly cooked and yummy. Dogs were welcomed too. Would definitely recommend.

Warm and friendly welcome. Excellent Otter Ale promptly served! Good selection of pub standards on the menu. A pleasant surprise was several menu items were available as smaller portions. A very nice thing to see. Food was well prepared and of good quality. Enjoyable meal. Would certainly return.

Great food! Some of their dishes have 2 sizes. The smallest size in plenty for most people! Lots of proper homemade choices as well.

Can't fault the staff are very polite and friendly, lovely looking pub but can't say the same for our two meals which got sent back immediately as lasagne was tasteless and chill con was absolutely awful

We have always come here for our annual family pre Xmas Dinner. Very disappointed. Portions tiny compared to other years. Felt like they were rushing us to get out, with waiting staff practically pouncing as soon as we'd finished a course. Desert still frozen. Shame but will not be returning, will book elsewhere next time.

Went there for a Christmas Dinner, my daughter order the cheesecake of the Christmas menu and it came out frozen. Roast turkey was lovely, a bit disappointed with 1 pigs in blanket and seasonal veg was sprout carrots and French beans. A friend had breaded camembert and there was no cheese in the middle

The food was amazing. Home made lasagne. We got vouchers to go back too. Nice pint 👌

Staff great but food let it down I had the Sunday roast beef cauliflower cheese was the best thing on the plate where the things that should have been the stars of the show beef and potatoes the beef was severely over cooked and the potatoes whilst brown on the outside were so undercooked on the inside they were rock hard think the chef must have fallen out of love with cooking

We took our friends from Portsmouth for meal on Friday lunchtime, everyone was very impressed with the food, service could have been a bit better as we had a long wait between courses, and the prices. A nice time was had by all.

We have our weekly office meetings here and they have ale in a barrel which is cracking! Lovely building and easy to find and get too. Never eaten here but the food smells incredible

Excellent food, great price and lovely location. We really enjoyed our visit here. The only downside was it took over 75 minutes to get our food. We politely asked how much longer and the young lad who works there (dark hair, tall , aged about 17) was so rude to us! Raising his voice and saying we are busy and you are a larger party. There were seven of us and we had been waiting a long, long time. However, when they brought our food out the older members of staff were very apologetic and the meal was lovely.

Nice pub. With a good amount of drinks to choose from. I have had food there before which was great. I shall pop back some time soon.

We visited the pub twice within a week,great service from all the young staff.Debbie was great , she controlled the restaurant and bar , efficiently and was very friendly. Highly recommend,great food at fair prices . Desserts are a must.

Tried this place for the first time on Saturday. The restaurant is in the oldest part of the building with its old stone walls, wooden beams and decor to suit. Due to the age of the building the restaurant was a little warm but not stifling. The food was lovely with good sized portions. The staff were attentive and were able to answer any questions we had. Service was prompt even though the restaurant was busy.

Second time here I didn't enjoy it this time It was very bland food

On holiday, celebrating hubbies birthday. Thought we would try this pub.

Great local pub with good food and selection of beers and lagers , outside seating is very well laid out and a great view over Dartmoor. Well worth a visit if you are in the area of Newton abbot or Totnes.

Lovely outdoor area. Only went for a drink on the way home so can't comment fully on the place.

Great traditional pub with absolutely lovely staff. Food was incredible and definitely get what you pay for - biggest chicken burger I’ve ever had. Garden also very cute.

Easy to find, bags for character and history. Lovely to see the lambs in the filed and just enough parking as it wasn't half busy. Also vintage cars in the car park when we visited too.

A lovely traditional country pub. A great selection of drinks especially the real ale direct fro. The cask! Thetford was delicious and the service excellent.

Great to able to choose a smaller serving. I had roast beef which was OK but not the best beef, vegetables were very tasty. Service to a group of 7 people was slow and waiter showed no urgency.

Very nice pub, friendly staff and locals, good service and we all enjoyed our food. My only gripe is a menu which offers the dishes a choice of sizes. Not having any idea what the portion sizes actually are I didn’t know which size to order, I opted for the bigger portion, which was much appreciate by our dog as we took lots of pie meat home for her!

The food is always really tasty, great value for money and the staff are friendly and accommodating. It's a cosy pub restaurant. For some dishes you can order a smaller adult version which is perfect if you want a desert afterwards!!

Lovely visit recently had a bit of lunch and a glass of wine, thoroughly enjoyed it, log burner made it super cozy and dog friendly made it perfect.

Food good but pub cold and staff miserable. One of our group failed to get his starter and then his desert. Were rushed to pay and leave. Will not return as plenty of other pubs with good food , heating and pleasant service

Had a 2 course Christmas meal the soup was lovely but the main was very poor 2 thin bits of turkey only had carrots swede and Brussel sprout costing £25 each ,very expensive for very little

Excellent service, friendly staff, comfortable surroundings and lovely food. Reasonable prices. We went for a ladies' lunch and couldn't fault any aspect of our time here. Would definitely go again and happy to highly recommend this lovely place.

We are on holiday staying at village nearby and didn't want to travel far for dinner. Chose Two Mile Oak at random - so glad we did. Very nice pub with warm, friendly atmosphere. Plenty of parking spaces and nice outdoor sitting area. We didn't have any starters but thoroughly enjoyed our mains and desserts 👍

Very disappointed in the food we had and also they forgot to put are order through to the kitchen,so had a 45minute wait for a jacket potato and a baguette,then once we got it the Baguette was mouldy ,took it back to the kitchen and the chef couldn’t understand why it was mouldy as he said it came straight from the freezer but did say he would replace it.the jacket potato tasted burnt once you got to the bottom of it so couldn’t eat it, on the plus side salad and prawns nice and fresh.we did not complain about the Jacket potato as we felt there was no point as you wouldn’t get a apology.this is a shame as we walk to the pub regularly and have enjoyed our meals up until now.I would also say that we have had better service from the bar staff

Last minute decision to go out for dinner and we weren't disappointed. Fabulous roast, excellent service, only 2 members of staff on but they were superb. Definitely be returning soon and highly recommend a visit.

Turned up for Sunday lunch, booked a table for 8 but took 1 more who they accommodated without any fuss. A steady flow of customers all lunchtime, loads of room between tables so you don't feel cramped. Service was friendly, food didn't turn up 5 minutes after you ordered so hopefully it hadn't been sitting under lamps for hours. Loads on everyone's plates and very tasty, no complaints on 6 different meal choices. Sweets were very tasty as well. With drinks the bill came to £23 each. On a main road two miles out of town with lots of parking, and an outdoor area at the rear with views over to Dartmoor. Recommended and will visit again when in the neighbourhood. Thanks.

So disappointed. Previous experience very good. Waited too long. Two out of three meals very poor. One group of diners so loud we left before dessert. Better luck next time

Friendly pub, great atmosphere, dog friendly

We had a lovely meal. We ordered off the specials board and were blown away by how good the food was. We even asked to speak to the chef to thank him personally (not something I would normally do). The staff were very attentive, polite and created a lovely atmosphere. The service and quality of the food is better than most restaurants. Oh, and not forgetting, they have Jail Ale too! Highly recommended

Car park out back nice covered eating areas outside as well, inside very quaint with old period features. 3x Thatcher's on tap cider wise, Guinness and San Miguel drinks wise. Good range of food from burgers to fish and chips.Good sized portions.Staff friendly and attentive. Little bit more pricey compared to chains but good quality food so worth it in my opinion.
