Turkish Kitchen in Peterborough

The Turkish restaurant I visited recently was one of the best I've been to in a long time. The food was incredibly delicious and flavorful, and it was presented beautifully. The service was also excellent; the staff was very attentive and seemed to know exactly what we needed before we even asked. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Turkish dining experience.

Thoroughly good time with excellent food and service. Was there at lunchtime so was quiet which is reflected by only 3 stars for atmosphere, could be a great atmosphere in the evenings 🤔

Food never lets you down. I can never decide on one dish and always go for a platter, then take leftovers home. I could eat it every day. Staff are maybe a little shy/ less accommodating than other places but thats not a big thing for me personally. Interior is nice, clean, and you get a view of the grill. Right next to town so lots of parking space. Definitely recommend!!!!!

Food is amazing, the young girls at the customer service are poor, 3 times already the food is late for delivery 1 hour plus! First time it was missing items, second time we waited for 2 hours, third time the waitress with such a poor customer service is telling me on the phone that i am rude, because i was explaining to her that is the third time this happens. I had to cancel as i learnt my lesson, and my family was hungry..

Turkish Kitchen is known to have a good atmosphere, decor is nice and food is nice for Peterborough. However we went to break our fast here and after our starters coming within 10min, the main dish didn't come at all even after waiting for over a hour. I asked 3 different waitresses about this and not one of them cane back to tell us how long or what is happening. After waiting for over a hour we deicided to leave especially after seeing other people's food coming before us when we were there first. No apologies from them nor any sympathy. Just took our money for the starters and drinks. Disappointed. Won't be going again.

Took my elderly father in law there for lunch for his birthday (his choice of food), we didn't get to book as couldn't be sure on timing so 6 of us turned up for a walk in, with him in a wheelchair. They were incredibly accommodating. The menu was amazing and the food delicious. They even brought him a little cake and candle to blow out and everyone sang to him🥰. He thoroughly enjoyed himself. Thank you.

Brother and sister inlaw came over from Gibraltar for a week ,we told them how much we enjoyed it here ,so of we came. They loved it ,George and Ali loved it but some meats were a bit to spicy . Me loved all .

The food is delicious. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere love this restaurant. There are vegetarian options.

Greeat Food, good portions and waiting time is not that long. The only thing there is a lot of groups of people making the atmosphere loud and hard to communicate.

Stopped off here whilst in the area and loved the food. Probably the most tender lamb I have ever had.

Visited the Turkish Kitchen for the first time in probably six years and had forgotten how good the food was. Saturday early evening and the restaurant was packed, reservations essential. There is a real energy to the place. Well trained staff whizz about, so service is fast and friendly. The Lamb Iskender and Sarma Lamb Beyti were exceptional, both served with salad and rice. Generous portions too, so no room for desert. Can't wait to go back

Normally excellent but on this occasion utterly shocking. Booked a table over a week ago, they rang us to confirm on the day only for us to turn up and not be on their list. Service shocking in trying to sort it out and staff completely out there depth in trying to sort out the 20+ people waiting by the door for their tables. Had absolutely 0 clue or idea what to do or say.

The Turkish Kitchen served vegetarian food, main courses and fish dishes, cold and hot mezes, charcoal grills, and combination kebabs. Additionally, they have a kid's menu for £9.95 per child, which is pretty pricey in my opinion. This restaurant is well-liked by large groups and the locals. It is constantly busy and packed. It is a favourite restaurant for parties and anniversaries. I am not a fan of crowded places. This restaurant is a little too busy and raucous for my liking. Our company's Christmas party was held there the last time I visited, and the evening was jam-packed. Their menu was overflowing with meat. I don't eat a lot of meat, so I thought it was a touch excessive. That's just my personal opinion. This is the spot for you if you enjoy eating a lot of meat.

Amazing place to visit, deffinately worth coming back multiple times, share plater for two is massive, four of us barely eat all food . Prices are quite high, but worth every single penny, cocktails tastes very nice and rich of flavour, deffinately take some starters because they are amazing.

5 of us went for my birthday. It was very good. Food excellent, service good. Only thing that I was not happy about was having a service charge on my bill. It's my decision if I want to give a tip if I feel it has been earned. However I do recommend and will go back.

Awful place for plant based people. They have no respect whatsover and lie straight in your face. Using same pans and oils that they fried baby children lamb body parts on. Just winking and grinning weird men, with water in their brain and no respect for customers. Should have sude them.

I love this restaurant, it is my go to for Lamb chops and the rice/grain side is to die for. The staff are amazing and make you feel really welcome, you will never leave this place feeling hungry. I have dined in a handful of times and get delivery at least once a month, I really enjoy the atmosphere of eating in but sometimes it's not always possible so having the option of delivery is great and you get a complimentary rice pudding yum.

Great food but....they need to organise bookings. We booked a table for Saturday night 6.30pm. Arrived promptly with about another 20 in a queue reaching outside the door. Many were complaining and we all ended up staring at the diners dining wondering when they were going to leave ? By 6.55pm we got a table. Then half way through our meal we were asked to move because they wanted to push our table to make a table of 4 !! And throughout diners waiting for a table staring at us not good. Good food , drinks and food not cheap but spoilt by table booking trying to get as many in as possible

I almost didn't come here due to the past week reviews that scared me but i am glad i did. The food was amazing, i can say that compared to the restaurants in Turkey i actually enjoy it better here and that says something. The service was nice and welcoming, there weren't many customers at the time so I assume there was no pressure on them. As a result they could give full attention to the few that were at that time. The atmosphere is very nice and the whole place is clean. My only concerns were about the food in terms of how it arrived. We ordered a platter to share and the vegetables supposedly grilled with the meat were actually cold. While the food was hot it was microwave hot not sizzling hot. However i just hope that it was just left aside and got cooled over time and the food wasn't reheated. It tasted amazing and was more than enough for 3 people. I will come back again in a few months with more people for my birthday.

The lamb was so soft and melted in my mouth. The rice and salad was so good as well and we actually asked for more after the first serving. Definitely going there again next month cos I can't get enough

The second visit was terrible, I haven't had such heartburn and stomach pain in 10 years, I don't recommend to anyone and I would never go again, waiting in line for a table and then being up all night with pain no thanks

Came for my birthday and being told after an hour I have 1.5-2 here and I have to leave (when no body even told me about it on the phone when I pre booked the table)One of the staff (young boy with curly hair) was rude asking to get out because basically they are very busy and to many people was waiting in queue (again nothing to do with me)just dropped the bill on my table and being watching and waiting tiller we leave.Very disrespectful.The only thing food was very nice.Be aware when you going there .

Food was nice. However terrible waiter (Turkish looking dude with the glasses and stubble) was very rude. He was giving us someone else's order in a rude manner even though we told him it wasn't ours and then he realised eventually it was another tables and didn't even apologise. The young lady with blonde hair who took our order apologised for his behaviour and was lovely throughout. Food was nice (had better in leicester) but for Peterborough it was ok. Nice atmosphere.

Went for a works meal, staff were very patient with us as a couple of lads were late. The food was outstanding and I'm looking forward to going back again to try more of the menu.

Amazing food. Great personal. Affordable price. Ambience is something to work on. When I eat, the rumour of the people must not be overcome by the loud music, and make the place a crazy place. But that's just my opinion. There's a parking space available in the back, but it's far from being enough for the customers.

First time back since it opened and it didn't dissapoint. It was a birthday meal and the food was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful and explained what we didnt understood. It is a very busy restaurant so I would suggest you pre-book your table. The chicken and lamb was very tender and everything was full of flavour. We Will definitely be going back again. Since writing my original review I've been back twice. Both times horrible experiences. I booked a table with a pram and when we arrived they kept saying they don't have space for my baby..After threatening to leave they made us a space right next to the kitchen where we demanded to be moved as my baby was sweating in his pram. A couple of months later i also went with work for our Christmas party. The staff was extremely rude and treated us like criminals. They refused for us to pay seperate and said we were not allowed to leave until the whole bill was paid in full. We were 30 people unable to pay by card. They said they will only split the bill in 4 which you can imagine was a dilemma. All our deposits wasn't deducted from the bill and they added a £70 service charge to the bill they wouldn't remove. A bunch of thieves. They are always overbooking the restaurant, not even a mouse can move in there!! I wouldn't recommend and I won't be back again!

Really rude staff! Service super slow - I ordered 10 mins before two tables that ordered the same food as me yet there food came out first and I was still waiting! I then asked for some bread as the one they initially gave had gone cold. I had to wait another 10-15 mins for this and the waiters were huffing and puffing, eye rolling! Also check your bill! I ordered chips which never arrived - yet they charged me! By this time I already had left the restaurant and made the mistake of not checking my receipt. If they continue on this way, mark my words, you will lose all your business! I won’t be back

It was wonderful. The food was very tasty. Just loved the pinacolada. Really it was so GOOD. We ordered a pizza which is a speciality of turkey and it was good. The Turkish kitchen special was good and tasty but a little pricey for like 8-9 pieces of mixed meat options. But the star of this dinner was baklava. It was so so so good served with ice cream. And the ice cream was just amazing. In all I would go again to Turkish kitchen and suggest it to others because one they serve good food. Two,Good drinks. Three, Give good fast service.

Giving one star to get this message across. Last nights customer service was just sad and incredibly rude. I always love the food in turkish kitchen. Last night was the first time i went at a busy time. I invited my friends over to have a girls night and share my love for the restaurants food. But it was ruined by appalling customer service. We were constantly asked whether we need the table for 5 that we reserved in advance.a friend was late so there were one extra table not used. We were asked 3 times within 30mins. We were aware of the time we were supposed to stay in, we came in time and spent less than an hour and half. When we were paying, the server whos taking the payment was eye-rolling because we dont know the pin of our card and woul like to try tapping it, but instead he put it in twice. We felt really disrespected like were not a paying customer. We werent rude or loud, we ordered a good amount of food and drinks. This was just a group of asian ladies on a night out. And with my experience traveling and eating alone i never thought id feel like people are being racist, i dont know if they are, but i felt that last night. It was really unpleasant.

Had a great midweek meal here this week. Lovely to see a restaurant nice and busy during the week too. First thing we noticed when we walked in was how clean the tables looked, I mean they were sparkling - always a good sign on somewhere you’re going to eat. This theme continued throughout the restaurant with the toilets also being immaculate. The service was great, everyone was really friendly and we were not kept waiting long for drinks or food. I like that you can see the kitchen from the restaurant. And when the food arrived it was delicious, we had a good variety between us and both thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely be back again soon.

The food was incredible. My partner and I shared one of their platters and it was one of the best things I’ve ever had. The staff are very friendly, Kayley especially made our night! We can’t wait to go back again! It’s always busy so definitely book ahead!

Was many times in this place always was outstanding service, just a last time order a food and glass of wine, waitress bring a new bottle opened it filled in a glass and said that will leave a bottle just in case if my missis will want more during a food when we nearly finished a food and came another men waitress which offered to top up wine glass, my missis refused as we were about to finish our dinner and she asked if we can just to pay for a glass as per order we ordered just a glass ,he made a smile grimace on his face and threw up his hands, we didn't want to fight and we paid for a bottle it wasn't expensive however that left black mark on a service as we felt not like in a good restaurant but like somewhere in a grand bazar... very frustrating as never experience before anything like this in this place , hopefully that man will learn etiquete and will be more professional with next clients.

Me and my guest both got food poisoning after eating here last Friday. The owner is cutting corners to an unacceptable degree; smaller portions and overbooking the restaurant to the point guests have to stand up and shuffle tables halfway through their dinner to Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.

I had the mixed grill kebab and it was some of the best cooked meat I have had, the chicken was melt in the mouth! Very busy so shows how good the food is!

Good tasty food. Staff training would help in listening to customers. One of the staff was quite dismissive and borderline rude which dampened the positive experience. Nearby chargeable parking. Update Nov 2023 Visited again and met with more horrible service and rude manager "Hayat". He was very rude when asked for extra glasses, gave us wrong order and rather than rectifying stated that I ordered the wrong dish. He didn't even write the order but was sure that I ordered the wrong dish. When pointed out that this is not the way to speak became more rude and started misbehaving, reported to the lady on the front counter and even then he could be heard mumbling in the background. Even that lady had to ask him to shut up few times. Good food ruined by this horrible person.

A Tuesday evening not that busy, wine had turned brown it has been open that long, was really excited to have the lamb casserole which when it arrived was chewy grey and not slow cooked, asked for some more bread as the sauce was quite nice, waited 20 minutes for it to arrive and so cancelled it, service was poor I’d hate to think what it’s like when it’s busy

Very normal food and the cost is very very high. Top of the bill simply adding £2.50 and scaming people without any good service. Please avoid this restaurant.!!!

Nice atmosphere & decor made a mistake sitting in a massive window on hottest humid day of the year though nothing restaurant could do about weather though. Friendly staff helpful. Starters amazing guys loved the garlic mushrooms, food portions are large. All food was fresh tasty and delicious would recommend the place and we would definitely return. Ladies toilets are fabulous.

Visited this restaurant for the second time with my husband and just like the first time it was amazing. The food was fresh and yummy I enjoyed every bit of it. The ambiance was lovely and the staff are always willing to help whenever needed. The make one of the best pina colada's. Really like it and will definitely be back.

Stayed in Peterborough for a few days for work. Tried this restaurant as it looked busy and quite nice through the window. I was on my own, that was a shame, as my partner would of loved it. As the staff were really welcoming, friendly and my god did they work hard, they never stopped. The food was beautiful, in both taste and presentation. I enjoyed so much, I called back 2 days later and received the same service and the food was outstanding again!! Brilliant place love it, thank you

Been here 6 times and I can say this is one of my favourite restaurants in Peterborough. Mixed Grills are the best

Good quality food, good drinks and fast service. Only issue was the pressure to finish with the next booking needing the table
