Turkish Kebab and Grill House in Derry

Absolutely vile food, ordered online and the chicken shawarma was soggy, had tons of random stuff but chicken. Most appalling shawarma and falafel you could ever have, don't walk away from this place but RUN! Save your money, time and most importantly your taste buds!

If you have brown skin, expect racism Our dining experience was tainted by the disgustingly discriminatory behavior of the waiter (bald and fat). He treated us rudely because we're Indian, favoring white customers instead. Despite our attempts to engage, he ignored us, banged our food dish, and neglected to serve basic water promptly. The owner should take accountability for their staff's behavior and ensure equal treatment for all customers, regardless of race. The food was amazing, 10/10, thanks to the talented older chef.

Fantastic food and very friendly and helpful staff. Too much nice food to chose from, but manager kindly recommended a bespoke selection of starters and mains. Picture of main meal attached. Oh boy, it was soooo good. Fresh salad, rice, bulgar wheat, and amazing selection of flame grilled meats and superb chicken/lamb casserole. My wife did not like lamb until tonight, literally the first time she thought lamb tasted great. Meat seasoned perfectly, full of flavour. Veggie options are also great, was my first time enjoying flame grilled halumi! They also make a very nice baclava for desert. Would highly recommend, nothing else like it in the city. Edit to original review: We've returned a few times and quality of food and service has both deminished. On our last visit i complained that the casserole sauce tasted like unseasoned passata (shop bought sauce would have had more flavour), the guy at the till just nodded and smiled and proceeded to charge full price, even though I ate little of it. So sorry to see what was a great restaurant let standards slip so low. I can only advise to avoid.

Had a fantastic meal here. Beautiful, freshly prepared food served by really friendly and attentive staff. Has a lovely family restaurant feeling about the place. We will definitely be back.

We love this restaurant and return again and again for their delicious, beautifully presented, authentic tasting Turkish food. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the Turkish music really adds to the good atmosphere. A great restaurant on our doorstep!

Ordered lamb seesh. Asked the staff its not cooked. The reply was amazing. May be the lamb was old thats why its not properly cooked. And he left. Paid for that for no reason. Ordered kabab wd bread but was not able to eat as was too heavy asked the staff to pack with bread. Came home wdout bread paid 3 pound for that bread. The best part is u came to relax urself the staff will come and discus their life won’t recommend. Overpriced nill service and food is shhhhttt. Uncooked food so the lamb was resposible not the cook and ask me to eat like its ok

Such a beautiful restaurant. The staff are so lovely and so professional. We came as family of four. Our children choose chicken goujons and chips as usual. But they saw the platter we ordered and they loved it and enjoyed that also. Anyone who hasn't tried please do, our first visit and it won't be our last. Incredible turkish food! I was absolutely blown away by everything my family and I ordered here. Hummus and bread was fresh and so flavorful. The chicken shawarma was tender and the staff made sure we were well taken care of. We came to Ireland from the U.S. on vacation and this was our favorite restaurant by far. Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

I start by saying that we all enjoyed the food. This was our second visit to the restaurant. As you’ll read from my reviews I love Turkish / Middle Eastern food. Our first visit we over ordered and ended up with too much food so we ended up with a take away as well! So went last night for a meal and we all enjoyed the food! Tasty and good value for money. I would have given five stars but I have decided to give a four star review based on the service from our waiter. The service during the meal was fine and the drinks and food all arrived promptly. At the end when I asked for the bill we waited a long time and it didn’t arrive so in the end I went up to the bar area to pay the bill. His first question to me was I was I going to leave a tip?I said that we would leave a cash tip (as we always do!) He then presented the card machine to me but I couldn’t see the displays so I asked him to turn it around when he turned around it was increased by £10! I reminded him that we were going to leave a cash tip and that he needed to amend the amount on the machine….. After much confusion and playing around with the machine he wasn’t able to resolve it and one of his colleagues had to sort it out. I did leave a slightly bad taste and in the end we didn’t leave a tip! It’s a shame because it was such a good evening and ended up feeling rather disappointed! Good food!

Had a delicious meal tonight at the Istanbul Turkish Restaurant on the Strand Road. Mustafa organised delicious taster platters and and our waiter Hamadin was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

Cook is turkish, serving team is Indian. But overall nice food but they are expensive for the quality, ambience, and place. The place doesn't have its own parking.

Heard good things but wasn't impressed, chips were seriously overcooked, hard and crunchy like they had been sitting a while and been reheated. Practically no salad, asked for mixed sauses only got chilli. The loaded wages went in the bin. Probably should have went for Kebab. Pity as I would have defs used again if had of been better experience. Delivery was quick but I'll give them that.

Kebab was great and the childs pizza, but the chips looked like theyd been cooked several times and forgot about for an hour.

I used to love the kebabs from here. But recently I have found the meat has been sliced far thicker than donner kebab meat should (or else they have changed to a different meat) and there is far too much meat in the small portion. My wrap fell completely apart any time I tried to eat it and it ended up just going in the bin. Chips are lovely!

Food was beautiful. Ordered a small kebab was more like a large. Easily the nicest ive ever had. Will be ordering again.

No recomendaría este lugar a todos. 2 "Netflix y chill" cajas tardaron más de una hora y 1 hora y 15 minutos, cuando finalmente llegó fue muy fría y una de las cajas eran objetos perdidos. Cuando sonar hasta llevar le dije a la persona en el teléfono y discutió conmigo diciendo que él hizo lo mismo y que cajas independientes que obviamente era todo cuando no era el caso. La comida era mediocre. No vale la pena la espera.

Used to love orderinh from here but they have gotten so sloppy my past few orders now are always wrong! Wrote in the comment section 'very little chilli plz' the kababs come swimming in chilli sauce farrrr too hot to eat! Rang and complained the boy working told me he never read the commemt and can send me one up but will be 40 minutes??? Just lost a faithful customer will never reorder ever again

I do NOT recommend the "veggie" burger...I don't even know what it was! It was round, very thin and burnt...was not like any veggie burger I've ever had, completely inedible.

Have only ever ordered take away from here but would very much like to sit in soon. The mixed kebab is huge and very tasty, my partner and I get one between us.

This is my local, Darragh & Liam are lovely fellas. Food is great and very cheap. If you want something and it's not on the menu just ask and they can do it for you. Try a chicken box wrap. LOVELY JUBBLY

Ok so... i always get Chinese food but fancied a change and im always seeing these guys on Facebook so i give it a whirl, it did not disappoint. I had The OB Box pizza, it was absolutely gorgeous. My kids had a mini doner Kebab on chips they loved it and my husband had a mixed kebab he said it was the best thing he ever had. It arrived very fast. The guy on the phone was more than pleasant and the delivery guy was extremely friendly. I have never got service and food like this from any mother takeaway. You's have now got a regular customer. Placed an order for delivery at 12:45am, once I placed the order it gave me an estimated time for delivery at 1:15am, it then came to 1:25am and there was still no sign of the food so I checked just eat and it said the delivery time was pushed back by 10 minutes which I was ok with because I know everywhere can get very busy and be snowed under with orders etc... Since then I have contacted the shop multiple times asking will it be much longer and I got that fed up waiting that I called and asked for a refund to be told "you would need to contact just eat themselves" with no information on how to even go about doing it, still waiting i get a phone call from the delivery man asking where my address is and I could hear someone in the background shouting a location that wasn't even near my address so when I corrected him his words literally were "I'll be down now" and hung up the phone nothing else, its now 2:32am and my foods only arriving, the delivery man didn't even have the decency to say sorry or nothing, it's been laying in the packaging that long that the paper in which the kabab is wrapped in is stuck to it with grease and condensation and it's freezing it should never have taken that long considering we don't even live that far away either. Terrible customer service, will never be ordering from here again. You seriously need to sort your staff out not so much the staff in the shop but the delivery man, the whole things a joke

Received confirmation that order was received. Waited the 55 minutes estimated delivery time and received a phone call from the restaurant saying that they had just received my order, which was already past its estimated time. They said they would deliver as soon as they could get it to me. Waited more than an hour after that, meaning over 2 hours in total. I didn't mind being called about the order being late, and in fact appreciated the update at least. But to have to wait another hour after that is unacceptable. Food was not worth the wait time either.
