Turban Tandoori in East Renfrewshire

Best curry I've had in a while, haggis pakora was really tasty, alot of places dry it out, but it was great. Big starter portions as well. Everyone was impressed with their curries, Lamb Desi was particularly good.

It’s always an amazing dining experience at Turban!! My aunt and uncle have been regulars for 25 years, and dinner here is my first request whenever I am over visiting from the states. The food tastes absolutely incredible - my go-to is always the chicken tikka Chasni, with a side of mouthwatering garlic naan. Thank you Jai, Bobby, and the rest of the team for providing top notch service!

Look. This is Giffnock right? We don't put up with any of your cheap and cheerful garbage that you would more than likely get in some working class Lanarkshire town. We demand top quality nosh and that's what the Turban delivers. Try and book a table at the weekend for the same night and you're too late. There's a reason for that.

The best chicken tikka meal I've tried. Nice curry sauce and you get that in plenty of places but their chicken tikka is the highest quality around. Deep soaked tikka flavour and consistently high quality meat cooked to perfection. The one thing I would prefer is for the onions to be charred/caramelised but that's a minor gripe.

First time at The Turban Tandoori restaurant in Giffnock. What a fabulous place! The food was divine and the service friendly and helpful. Our waiter was engaging and knew exactly what the cuisine was about. 20yrs since I last had pakora.... It was worth the wait! Would highly recommend it. I'll be back!

Have used The Turban for a long time, but usually for a take away. This time, we ate in as it was my son's 13th birthday and he loves a curry (even if it is only a Korma). From the moment we walked in we felt at home. We were greeted by name, not the usual "can I take your name". The drinks order was taken swiftly, along with the food order, even though we kept them waiting as two of our guests were a little late. The food was fantastic, even better straight out of the kitchen. The ambience was warm and inviting, and this was a Tuesday night in Feb! They also brought out my son's birthday cake with candles and the whole restaurant sang along! You just cannot fault it, the food is divine, and the hospitality is exceptional, so glad we have such a high calibre restaurant close to us.

Was really busy on a Monday night - a great sign. Thankfully got a walk in table. Food was incredible, staff very attentive. Really happy with the meal, we will be back

Absolutely love this restaurant. Every time we go the food seems be better !! Staff best around and could eat here every day ( that why I get so many take aways !!). Keep it up folks . No other place comes close to the quality and taste.

Another outstanding meal at Turban Tandoori Station Road. I live in New York and this is always my first stop from the plane. The food is always delicious and the team of Bobby , Jai and the great chefs are always there to help you with every need and take great care to provide top service. I always pick the Channa poori ( chickpeas with a sweet and sour tamarind sauce with a delicious poori bread) and I love the vegetarian dishes. Please go and enjoy and tell the staff Monica recommended you to go!

Hadn't been hin here on may years, as it used to be bad food, & despite the fact, that I live nearby. Was told it had new management and was now really good...and it was. Great curry and at an acceptable price. Service was excellent too.

First time eating out for Christmas dinner, a little bit apprehensive, looking back on memories of many works nights out at Christmas where the meal was a very rushed and 9 times out of 10, a very average affair. Could not have been more wrong. An excellent meal, excellent service and a very Christmassy time was had by all. Fabulous curries, all the usual suspects on the menu, and huge desserts to end. Santa even appeared for a chat and to hand out gifts. This way exceeded my expectations and all being well, I will be back for next Christmas.

Amazing food, Tandoori King Prawn, my days so so nice. can understand why this restaurant is so busy, have been a few times but this has got to be my favorite, ohhh, and the nan bread. waiters are in different class 11/10 for the experience

What can I say - but absolutely amazing food! We started off with mixed Pakora and then followed on with Lamb Bhudda and Chicken Sherabi - OMG what flavours - every bite was a sheer delight. Service was, as per normal, excellent - if you are ever in Glasgow, and want a fantastic Indian meal -then this is the place to go. Can't recommend it highly enough - so much so - we've already booked another table before we wend our way back home.

First Scottish Indian meal in about 15 years - did not disappoint!

My boyfriend and I have been here a few times and every time the food is absolutely amazing ! The service is always unreal and they always remember us , asking about our days etc. The food is truly top tier and everything is priced so well , I’d pay more simply because the quality and the service is amazing. Heard it was great first visit & last ,cold plates also dirty, pakora undercooked cool, so noisy phones kept ringing for takeaways constant, mains warm very bland Nan soaking in oil&like a soggy mess what a disappointment .

If you are ever walking through Rouken Glen Park & wonder what the amazing smell is, it is here! The food is delicious. The service is lacking sadly just in terms of warmth.

This Indian restaurant is a hidden gem . My wife myself had dinner here this afternoon our experience was just fabulous. Starting with the staff a pleasant young team with knowledgeable explanations of some food we had chosen . Restaurant layout very spacious with our own privacy within the seating booth Toilets washroom spotless The food was just delicious starters and main meals were a delight to eat . For starter I would recommend king prawn poori which comes in a tasty wrap. Main meal lamb fillets spicy not to hot well marinated large pieces of meat served on platter roasting hot Finished of with Red velvet cheesecake And a dumpling with ice cream . All in it was a delightful afternoon Thanks to all the staff for looking after us Thanks Courtyard we will be back for the food and (fold away table) .

This is definitely up there as my favourite Indian restaurant in Glasgow and for that matter Anywhere , the menu is extensive and the food is second to none , the staff are very friendly and can help you with your choice .

Without a doubt the best curry in Glasgow.

Tried to book a table for 2 adults and a 14 weeks old child, there were 4 people eating in the restaurant at time of booking. Was advised that there was no space for a pram so couldn’t get a table at this establishment. Not a child friendly restaurant, would recommend looking elsewhere for family dining.

The Turban is a stand out for us when it comes to Indian food in Glasgow. Consistently high quality food packed full of flavour. Both sit in and take away you will enjoy a great meal. If a fan of fish or seafood this is a restaurant for you. Their tandoori salmon and monkfish are incredible. Be sure to take the recommendations of the staff when it comes to sauces as they always get it spot on.

Turban Tandoori in Glasgow is, like, okay, I guess. 3/5 from me. The place is pretty average, nothin' fancy. The food is decent, but not mind-blowin'. The flavors are there, but it's not the best Indian food I've had, ya know? The service was alright, nothin' special. The staff were nice enough, but not super attentive. Prices are fair, I guess, but for the quality, I expected a bit more. Overall, Turban Tandoori is not bad, but I've had better Indian food in Glasgow. I might give it another shot, but I'm not in a rush to go back.

The most amazing food and 1st class service. We had booked for my husbands 60th family meal & the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating! They were attentive and really looked after us! Definitely the best Indian food we've had for a very long time & well worth a visit! Thank you

Probably the worst Indian takeaway we have ever had. The rice was all dry and stuck together as if it had been microwaved to excess. The pakora was soft but tasteless. The pakora sauce was like a blend of tomatoes and water. I ordered Aunti Jis chicken Achari but I think Aunti JI must have had the night off as it was bland tasteless with the odd soggy bit of pickle. My wife ordered the Chicken Dopiaza and it was difficult to tell which one was which as they looked and tasted the same bland taste. The only saving Grace was the Garlic Naan which was probably the only thing the chef could cook. I am honest when I say have had better Indian ready meals from the supermarket. Definitely won’t be back and not worth the £40

This was my first time at the famed 'Turban' and I was not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service was very attentive and speedy. Great restaurant and one which I will certainly recommened (and hopefully return to at some point)

Four of us were booked for 6pm on Saturday but we were struggling to get a drink and to get them to take our order we had to ask 3 or 4 times before it was taken. People came in after us and got served very quickly. We eventually got our meal 45 minutes later, so we only left a £2 tip

This has been recommended to us for ages. We had a favourite Indian restaurant and every time we go somewhere we always compare it to our fave. Welll….. turban tandoori is fantastic. It is definetely our new fave. The food was absolutely amazing best Indian ever pakora was amazing the the jaipuri chicken was outstanding ! Will be back

It is quite simply the best Indian in the south side. The food is amazingly tasty and fresh, none of your boring every day nonsense. Everything is vibrant and flavoursome and deliciously spicy! Get the chicken mirch garam masala for a spicy curry delight!

I didn’t get the chance to dine in. I booked an itison voucher and have been looking forward to using it. Unfortunately, my 8 month baby has been unwell in hospital and therefore I missed the cut off by two days. Of course I should have booked sooner but it was the last thing on my mind having slept on a hospital bed for the past 5 weeks. I thought as a gesture of good will they would have allowed it but clearly they just all about the money. So I will not be back!

Absolutely beautiful, tasty food this evening. Chilli chicken followed by South Indian garlic n chilli chicken... yum. Plain nan was light and fluffy. My son had chicken pakora then shakuti chicken korma... wonderful spicy yet creamy.... I had some sauce with nan bread. Can't wait to return

The best lamb malaidar I've had in years. A local gem of a restaurant.

Staff were rather rude. Practically threw the food down onto the table, had it jumbled up on the edge of the table without telling us which order was which and handing it directly to us. Persons at the table registered blind and can’t even tell which food was which. Member of staff then knocked my mums serving spoon from her food onto the floor along with bits of food, realised, but never offered to get a new spoon for her and left the spoon along with bits of food lying on the floor for 15mins before someone else decided to pick it up. We finished our meal and the table was cleared, we sat for 20 minutes and no one offered a desserts menu or brought the birthday cake out I had handed to them at the start of the night for my mums birthday. So we asked for the bill and waited for the cake just to take home but no one returned again after we waited. So we left, extremely disappointed with the service and lack of hospitality.

Leaving a 5 star review here for every single visit - me and my fiancé are regular visitors of turban tandoori. It’s our once a month treat and it’s never let us down. Food is genuinely better than any other Indian restaurant you will visit....

I ordered the food with clear instructions to make it very hot n spicy with loads of green chillies however they have not followed an inch of instructions. Spoke to Sai who said he is the owner and he clearly puts the blame on me by telling that I collected 5 hrs late ( How does the spicy goes off in 5 hrs? ) and called the restaurant 2 days late about this complaint. I forwarded him the pictures taken via whatsapp. I was busy working as I am a doctor and could not the call next day. How does the facts change in 2 days? I deep dived into the website which states the owner is Satnam Singh Chahal n not Sai. He told that he will sort out next day but took a u turn.He was customer unfriendly and very rude.They do not have complaint policy and doesnt care about social media reviews. Best is DO not order again and report to the trading standards as falsely projecting Satnam is the owner. I am not bothered about my 15 GBP but others can be aware of these type of restaurants.

This was my first time in this lovely restaurant. We had an early evening booking, but the restaurant filled up very quickly. The food was amazing; I had the tandoori prawns, which were worth every penny paid! Huge, succulent, and absolutely delicious! The service was excellent too. Well worth a visit, but be sure to book first.

We had planned to have a birthday party here with 10 people, thought we’d try take out before eating in . Found the chicken curry just average , in fact I asked for it to be desi .. it wasn’t .. in fact it was ready in 10 mins …tikka was good. This is the 3rd time , yet to have good food .

Food was actually quite nice but the service was extremely poor. I can’t really blame our teenage waiter he was polite and very nice but lacking in training or direction by more experienced staff. All staff seemed to be very young, The owner sat in the bar area with his friends completely oblivious to what was happening around him. We were seated in the bar area and forgotten about, surrounded by glazing the seat was freezing. I won’t be returning. Shame.

If you are looking for great Indian authentic taste, dine here. Absolutely lovely place, the dark ambience with dim lights on, you get a nice welcome from the staff. the service was pretty quick and it didn't cost us too much at all, although we were in a group, that didn't stop them to serve us right and quick. They have cocktails and beers as well.

We had a lovely meal for 6, and each server who interacted with us was incredibly friendly. Nothing was too much and they answered all our questions with ease and gave great advice on choices! The food it’s self was delicious - we recommend trying...

I'm a regular customer and the service and food never disappoints.

Christmas Day ruined party of 10 waited 1.5 hrs between starter and main course even though we complained.,Staff were young and inexperienced. No organisation seemed more interested in getting takeaways out.We left without paying which was justified. Never had such a bad experience in all the years eating out.Last year we went to Mac Millans in Shawlands fantastic.

First time visit tonight. Excellent meal in every way, I can’t wait to return.

A long wait to get served,especially for main meal

First time visit based on recommendations from family and they weren’t wrong. Service was impeccable and personable with lots of recommendations given on what to order based on our pallet. Has instantly become a firm favourite, and we’ll 100% be making a return visit soon.

The food is very good and the staff are aways friendly and always make you feel welcome .
