Excellent food service and atmosphere!

Used to come here with my children. Not been here for at least FIFTEEN years, children all adults now. My favourite dish is STILL on the menu and as lush as I remember along with the "intimacy" or "cosiness" of the restaurant which I'm still not a fan of. That aside and the "selective service" I'm definitely back on board - loved it !

Great night out the ambiance was great quiet music where you can have a conversation. The food was also great the staff was attentive and welcoming reminded me when I was in Thailand Phuket.

This is an absolutely fantastic restaurant. Delicious food, everything was perfect. The atmosphere was so special, with incredible hospitality. Great value too! We will be back!

The food was delicious and served at the perfect temperature. The vegetable noodles and jungle curry were particularly stand out. Our waiter Pae was attentive without being intrusive, very smiley and also cracked some funny jokes. You feel like you are eating with family.

I booked a table here for the first time for my boyfriend's birthday hoping it would be good as we both love thai good. But it wasn't only good, it was exceptional in every way. Real authentic thai food with brilliant service and lovely thai design. I couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate! 😊 Thank you very much for the amazing experience, will be back!

Great food and atmosphere. We ordered the steamed fish and the massaman curry (although the chicken was a bit dry). On the pricier side, but ok for a night out.

Lovely restaurant, amazing food and service

Hands down one of the most beautiful Thai food I’ve ever had! Everything was delicious, piping hot and delivery was super fast. I’ve asked for some soy sauce in a little pot and they even gone through the effort of wrapping it in cling film so it doesn’t spill. Can only recommend, I definitely enjoyed every bite of it!!

Visited Tumnan Thai with family and I have to say it is a fantastic restaurant. All of the food we had was very delicious. We were welcomed and served by Pae and Now- they are very kind and they have great humour adding to this excellent restaurant experience. Thank you to Pae and Now for making our first visit so enjoyable and thank you to the chefs for the amazing food. We will definitely be coming here again!

They need to pay attention to notes when you as what ingredients to not be put in the food. We asked no bean sprouts and it arrived with it. Other than that all good.

Wish I could give them more than 5 stars!! You'll know the reason why if you go. The food was authentic and great but what's so special about them is the service. The waiter was very friendly yet professional and attentive. Can't recommend them enough. Will definitely dine again!

Absolutely fantastic staff, brilliant food and wonderfully pleasant experience. Portions were more than generous, we asked to take things home which they were more than obliging and even unbeknownst to us, even put in another bag of prawn crackers to our bag. 100% would recommend and will be returning. Have returned on multiple occasions - to show how much the staff care, I forgot my sports water bottle there and ran after us with the bottle and handed it back to me. Can’t fault Tumnam Thai in the least

Seriously great place ! I would have given 6 stars if there was an option to. Great meal, superb service , wonderful ambiance. Been coming here for a year and I think this is a hidden gem. 💎 remind me of Bangkok ! Wonderful wonderful and wonderful - believe me I am very picky and here I am just falling in love again and again!

Love this place. Really great authentic Thai food in a lovely restaurant. Best I’ve had in a long time. Our server Pae was super nice and friendly as well as being very attentive. It’s was my wife’s birthday and they made her feel special which was very kind of them. Highly recommend!!!

Worst Tom Kha Kai soup ever had, couldn't eat it because it was loaded with salt, chicken was dry, nothing nice flavour only salt, inedible

Was good but the prawn curry came as a chicken curry which was a big disappointment.

Food is delicious but extremely salty! Other flavours are sufficient. No need for so much salt.

This order was seriously poor. Each item was cold. The pad Thai was stuck together and clumpy, couldn’t even get a fork through it with ease….. the curry was so watery thin with very chewy meat/chicken. Extremely disappointing & and ruined a Friday night. Unfortunate.

Been coming here for months and everything just SUPERB!!! - Great food : well presented , tasty. I have tried the whole starter dishes! All amazing. ( I seriously can’t fault anything, believe me - I am very picky!!). Love papaya salad, crying Tiger , Beef massaman is a must! - wonderful service : Patty is so friendly and yet attentive, staff are cheerful and always have nice smiles 😊 ; - plus relaxed atmosphere. I always felt like I am back in Bangkok having dinner in a restaurant behind the Royal Palace. Thank you again Tumnam Thai! Can’t wait to come back for more!

The salad was warm by the time it arrived. The rice was a bit bland. Given the high star rating, I expected a lot better.

Mixed Starter didn't seem freshly cooked, batter very soft and soggy. Pork in Pai Tai had no flavour and rubbery.

Hands down the best Thai I’ve had in London! Authentic, fresh and flavorful. I’ve had some pretty good Thai food in London but Tumnan is the best for a couple of important reasons: - Very authentic menu with some great choices - Thai-style wooden interior that is inviting and warm - Excellent service!

We spontaneously went to 'Tumnan Thai' on a Friday night just wanting to eat a nice Thai meal fairly local to us. It's gems like this place that make eating (and experiencing) Thai cuisine a pleasure. The food was delicious, perfectly prepared and flavoursome and all served within a lovely Thai decor too (making us forget we were actually on Lavender Hill!). Compared to other restaurants, it's also fairly priced and the waitresses were friendly, warm and helpful too. The food was authentically presented with fairly generous portions too. Needless to say, we will definitely be back! Dishes we ordered included: - Pla Muek Tord (Tender squid pieces dipped in batter and served with sweet chilli sauce) - Pad Thai Noodles - Panang Ped (Roast duck, stir fried in red curry paste with coconut milk & lime leaves) - Kaeng Phed (Traditional Thai red curry cooked in coconut milk with Thai aubergine & bamboo shoots) - Khao Ob Kati (×2) (Steamed coconut rice) - Finishing with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Thank you for making our evening a delightful experience, especially as it was our "10th anniversary as a couple celebration meal" too (which we didn't mention). Andy & Rowena

I've given 5 stars despite only having a take away, therefore I can't really comment about the ambience. The menu is extensive and very well priced. I ordered over the telephone which was quick and easy and was offered to pay via card or cash. Delivery time was 45 mins although we actually received our food within 30 mins. It was delicious. Really fragrant, hot, well wrapped and a bag of free crackers. For 4 of us we ordered a green prawn curry, red duck curry, beef salad, pad Thai and a pork with veg dish. £15 p/p. I was so impressed that I want to eat at the restaurant. I highly recommend this place.

Found this place on google maps when my friends and I were craving authentic Thai food. From start to finish, I was super impressed with the quality of the dishes and service. The food was absolutely delicious - highly recommend the special fried rice here.

One of those Chinese restaurants which try and do Thai by adding a little basil or a peanut. My kra pao had absolutely no bearing on the real dish. Very disappointed

Fairly standard Thai fare. Pad Thai was as expected, albeit a very healthy portion. Same could be said for the Pad Thai Jay, large portion, nothing crazy good or bad about it. Tom Yum Hed was packed with mushrooms and had great flavor. Atmosphere is nice, and service is very good.

Very fantastic Thai in Clapham! This is a highly professional restaurant with the whole experience being 5* - service was like being in happy Thailand. The food to me was world class ! The sizzling beef was delicious. Green curry on point. Toilets are super clean.

After giving Tumnan Thai rave reviews the last time, I guess there was no where to go but down. For me the boneless chicken wing starter (Peek Gai Yad Sai) was very disappointing, especially since it's not entirely boneless. The papaya salad (Som Tum Thai) was decent, a bit on the sweet side, but still retained heat. But the most unforgivable was the Pad Thai - stodgy and clumpy! How can a Thai restaurant get Pad Thai wrong?! The Lamb was probably the best dish of the lot. Will try and look for an alternative, and will think long and hard before ordering from them again.

Came here after a looong day of travel, we were both super hungry & decided to stop by here. I’m so glad we did! We got the Panang curry with tofu and vegetables, and the Pad Thai. The Panang was to die for!!! It was so perfectly aromatic and spiced. The service was also super friendly and speedy. I would highly recommend!

This Thai restaurant is on another level for any gourmet or foodie. The menu choices are huge it was difficult to decide on what to choose. This is a restaurant that is very worth travelling for. Friendly and helpful and a nice decor. Just amazing cooking. Another delicious dinner this has to be one of the best Thai restaurants in the UK.

Have now ordered food from here around 5 or 6 times and it is consistently good. Usually have the spicy mushroom soup and Som Tum salad. I recently tried the Red Prawn Curry and it too was very good.

Deliciously authentic Thai restaurant conveniently located near Clapham Junction. Food was really nice and reminded me of when I was on Thailand in a way that some places don't. Authentic ingredients and cooking methods. Staff were very nice as well and happy to answer any questions. Pricing wise was really decent, we were surprised when the bill came. Would really recommend for a nice dining experience.

I'm really disappointed to be giving it this rating, as the vibe of the place (and friendly staff) are amazing. Unfortunately I was just very disappointed by my meal, stir fried noodles (Pad See Ew Jay) made a bit hotter than normal, apparently. Compared with the Thai food I'm used to on Sydney, there was almost no complexity in the flavour, and the dish was as far to the opposite of hot as you could get. I guess I forgot how mild the English palet is. So yeah, if your British and haven't encountered Thai food before, this place is brilliant! Great decor, friendly helpful staff.. its just if you're used to Aussie Thai (which I'm guessing is more like 'Thai' Thai?) you'll probably be disappointed.

Quality food even if a bit pricey for a takeaway but well worth it. Portion sizes are decent as well. Starters and mains for 4 came in at less than £20 each!
