Unreal food in this place. Bavette steak is unquestionably the best thing on the menu have it nearly every time.

Great food. Very nice wine by the glass and the beer also looked good. Pizza is particularly good. Large place, tables inside and out and very child friendly. Highly recommended although not cheap.

Food and service are great but the only downside is that people bring in a lot of dogs

A great warm Tufnell Park Tavern. I would like some music on and the rule with no kids at all allowed after 7 pm make no sense .Other than that ,a great local pub .

This is our local and I couldn't be happier. The food is always on point. The menu is varied with a Mediterranean twist to it but their pizza is always excellent. Service is always very good. Friendly and responsive even when they busy. For lunch with children this is the place to be. No children after 7.30pm but I understand this. All round excellent gastropub and pub in general.

I rang to book a table for Sunday lunch. Never been to TPT before but it had been recommended. The woman on the phone was so abrupt and rude I won't bother again.

Usually love this place, me and my partner came here for Sunday lunch we ordered two soups and two roast dinners everywhere we have been a starter comes before the main. To our frustration the roasts came before the soups they did offer to put the roasts back but this would of just sat there and wouldn't be nice to eat after as they were out of roast dinners so wouldn't been replaced. The attitude of a particular staff member was shocking I asked for some sauces for our roasts she came and slammed down the condiments I asked for a refund of the soups and seemed to be a big deal I pulled her on why did she slam the sauces she just replied by laughing in my face and eye rolling she was very strange I don't know how she thinks that's appropriate behaviour. No apology. Won't be coming back to shocking service. The food is nice but I'm old school and do believe in good customer service and it's definitely not here.

Honestly, I’m very sad to write this review. This pub is one of my favourite local spots - the ambience is always great, the beers and wine are interesting and tasty, pizzas are solid… But I went on a busy Friday night, and had such bad service that we decided to try a different spot. After grabbing two seats at the bar my partner asked to see a wine menu. The server responded by pointing to a wall we couldn’t see from our seats, rolling their eyes, and storming off… We both looked at each other and decided we’d rather try a different pub that night.

Nice space and a big step up from where it was a few years ago. Menu is interesting and the pizzas are decent, but an over reliance on salt does count against it.

Atmosphere seemed nice. However, the people serving seemed to have forgotten us. After sitting there for 20minutes we decided to leave.

The best sandwich I’ve had in a while (pork bun). Roasted potatoes were also excellent. We sat outside which was a great atmosphere and had a couple pints—good beer selection on tap. This tavern also has a very nice outdoor back patio for longer sit down meals.

Popped into this pub on a whim and it was a solid choice. Lots of beers on a tap and tons of patio space to enjoy a pint on. We also ordered food, the roast pork sandwich and fried potatoes with garlic aioli. Everything was super tasty; although the chimichurri on the sandwich tasted a bit like soap? Service was friendly and quick. Great spot on a sunny afternoon!

Great neighbourhood pub with an extensive food menu and decent pizzas. Lovely large outdoor terraces front and back . Does get busy on evenings and weekends but it's a large venue so doesn't feel packed.. Has a sensible policy of children under 12 after 7pm .

Came here for a Sunday roast which was served incredibly fast and was delicious. Sat out back which had a nice calm Sunday atmosphere. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Little bit pricey but I think that's all roasts in London!

Went for some spontaneous dinner last night. I’ve lived in the area for 4 years and walked past and was always like “yeah looks okay” but never went in.. then we discovered the awesome hidden terrace area! It was beautiful! We were server by Milo who was lovely, and the food choices were delicious. Excellent vegan and veggie options. I had the chickpea & cauliflower and the broth it came in was well flavoured. Finished off with some red wine which was reasonably priced.. I think you can tell by now I’m a converted fan?? Haha. I’ll be back soon!!

Nice spot for a pint and decent pizza

Came here with a friend for pre cinema drinks and pizza. We shared an anchovy olive feta and pepper which was so yummy and a salami and fennel. Both so tasty but the anchovies definitely had the edge for us both. Thanks 😋

Great pub food. Good atmosphere and space inside, outside front and back. Good selection of beers, too. It gets busy at the weekend, though, but it is worth a visit if in and around "Tuffers."

Lovely building, nice outside areas, good food, fabulous live music, etc. The only problem was that I ordered a round while my friend ordered a pizza and the bartender rapidly charged everything to my friend without even stating the total or checking with us! When she realised that there had been a mistake, her reply was, “Yeah… you didn’t specify…”

Had table booked for weeks before, had no Sunday lunches left at 2.30pm on a Sunday. Buggered up our new group’s Sunday lunch. Still charged us for a few olives. In spite of being more or less empty.

Abbiamo aspettato due ore per poi capire che la cena non sarebbe mai arrivata perché la cameriera non aveva ben chiarito che nonostante avesse lei preso la comanda avremmo dovuto pagare alla cassa sia le bibite che il cibo. Alle ore 9.30 ci dicono che chiudono tra mezz'ora e nello stesso tempo si scusano e ci dicono di aspettare un quarto d'ora e nel frattempo dobbiamo cambiare tavolo. A cena finita alle 10( per colpa loro) il dessert non si può più ordinare perché la cassa è chiusa e nello stesso tempo se vogliamo ancora stare nel locale dobbiamo cambiare un altro tavola. Beer garden is lush in summertime. Patatas bravas is delish, great food and generous portions generally. Great selection of drinks and lovely atmosphere. Also super dog friendly.

Staff very rude ..not helpful..know smiles from this team..tables dirty ask to clean .washed them over put the dirt on our laps... had asked for cutlery..the face on the staff...dont be in the job if this is how you feel.. Food was nice..but staffing issues (massively)

For a family area of Tufnell Park with a large inside and outside space I find it disappointing that they do not allow children after 7pm. Shuts out customers who would like to enjoy a meal and drink as much as the rest of everyone else (talk about feeling old / unwanted in your east 20s for having a baby!!)

Excellent food for honest prices. Very nice inside with different ambiences and mostly feeling intimate but relaxed. Staff is patient, helpful and efficient, despite the busy Friday I was in. If anything I felt the portions were a bit small for the mains, but the entrées compensated. Good variety of wine and beers.

The roast pork with broccoli and mashed cannelini beans was incredible. Have eaten here before and been ok but food seems to have improved massively. Highly recommend.

CONTEXT - Visit 8th April Was here early evening on a Saturday for a bite to eat and a drink with a mate before goin to a gig up the road (Boston Music Rooms - great venue, highly recommend a visit). I've walked and/or stumbled past this pub a few times in my time in London, but never on a pub night out. Now I was coming down from the 'shire' (Hertfordshire) it was 'more or less' enroute to the venue from my train stop. ATMOSPHERE For Saturday, at 5pm ish, i thought it was a bit quiet. But as already mentioned, this place is kind of 'tucked away' between Upper Holloway, Tufnell Park and Highbury & Islington in north London and I would say unless you know it exists, it doesn't get much foot traffic. This all being said, for what I was looking for it was great, nice an chilled before a gig, able to chat to my mate and get some good grub. As per the quietness, the people in there were also giving off 'chill vibes'. Whether or not it gets rowdier at night I don't know, but great boozer for chilled chats and drinks with friends. SERVICE Staff were friendly, kind, and gave off a similar vibe to above. Served my drink and food with calm and a smile. If anything i'd say maybe a bit too quiet in the serving in not much chat, or instruction with my food (got given my pizza, not told where/if cutlery was coming or not and got up only to find them come back a bit later). STYLE As mentioned, farily certain its had a makeover in the last few years, i may be wrong. There is a 'classy' feel to this place, expecially when you look at the food menu (see below) and maybe its just that it looks clean and no scuffs and i'm used to a bit of rough. That being said, i didn't feel out of place and it is actually VERY nice looking pub, with the ability to get down and dirty i suspect late at night. TOILET Writing this a few days later i realised i didn't take a picture of the bathroom, but i know i used it. I tend to remember them if their minging, so my brief memory would suggest its clean and 'does the job' that you meed it too. PRICE £13.50 for a spicy chorizo pizza & £6.40 pint of Mosaic. I mean, the pizza is very good value for money, as it was delicious. The beer...pfftt, maybe a 'tad' pricey, considering where it is ( a bit behind the scenes) and boardering outskirts of London, but also understand current service costs etc, this is actually pretty average. I'm still yet to get my first £7 pint in London, but i know its coming. FOOD & DRINK As mentioned already, Pizza was brilliant, highly recommend, thin, sloppy and tasty. They also had a very extensive, what I would call 'bistro' style pub food menu to accompany the pizza menu, whith a seperate 'restaurant' style space for those wishing to have a more specific dining experience. The menu looked exciting though and I want to go back with the family to try this. Drink, nothing too exciting in the beer front, they did have both cask and keg, which is always good, as well as what looked like an extensive gin menu.

Top quality. We had a large group for Sunday Lunch-beef, fish and chicken all delicious. The others enjoyed their food too.. Thanks to Ian and all the team.

We have been to 3 of these pubs and liked the one in Dalston and Camden park road more than this one… the service was very slow. Otherwise love the food in these pubs a nice selection.

Went for drink after work, got there 22:55 as was a lot of people in front of me didn’t want to push so I waited to be told that is after last orders and they can’t serve. I finish my long shift and I get it but I was waiting long time for them to acknowledge me. I wanted my single gin and tonic but after barwoman eyeing me from bar and making me very uncomfortable, better that they were closed for tonight, after all of that didn’t want o stay. I live 3 mins away but I will find better place to have a drink after work. As single woman is not place to go. NOT WORTH IT!

Friendly and relaxed, with great food and fantastic people!

Very good food, welcome, service plus value for money. Our Sunday lunch / pm experience was excellent. There were many families enjoying the food and atmosphere with a relaxed attitude to the many children at this time of the day / weekend. Roast Beef had sold out, as a result Bavette steak available (and slightly cheaper). All other items available. Keep up the good cuisine and service.

The sea bass was absolutely delicious the best I’ve ever had it. It was grilled to perfection and accompanying potatoes were very tasty. The pear and ginger crumble with ice cream was yummy. Loved my meal.

Good food nice place for meetings

Fantastic time, was very surprised by the special treat....xmas choirs and beers... the place became busy/buzzing with people and children. Great time, then everyone was gone. Would definitely go again Great food. But go early if you want Sunday Roast.

Had lunch then dinner here a couple of days apart, just before Christmas, and they were two of the best meals I have eaten out in a long time. The sea Bream was plate sized and superb, as was the grilled Haddock with Turmeric Mash. Not at all expensive by London standards, and I am far from being a rich man. Oh, and I should say that if, like me, you are a Coeliac or cannot eat Gluten, then you will find the staff entirely compos mentis. They always have at least one GF choice available, veggie and vegan too. And also importantly a beautiful place, child and dog friendly.

Rude, aggressive staff let down what otherwise would be a decent pub

Great pub experience went at Christmas as a group and as there were 10 we could order a turkey for the table loverly food there was still turkey over so they boxed the food and gave it to one of our guest

Popped in for a drink before a gig and was mighty impressed with the menu although we didn't eat but what was coming out of the kitchen looked great. The waiting staff are delightful and we will be back soon to sample the food.

TERRIBLE. Does anyone know the contact details of the owner. Selfish person. Deliveries at 4.30am, crashing car doors waking me up. No respect. Awful place, only cares about making money, horrendous business. Don’t care about their neighbours.

Big, airy restaurant/pub with good beers and a very solid and tasty menu, great diverse clientele, and thoughtful and efficient staff. Very kind to a couple of Americans who came by several times during a holiday in London.

Took my friend out for lunch and we ordered “lunch special”. What we got was a watery shallow bowl of overcooked orzo bathing in very thin tomato sauce. I would not serve it to my dog. This used to be a nice neighbourhood spot, but it is my second awful meal there in a few weeks (the previous one was not a “special.”) I shall not ever eat there again.

Only stopped by to meet people, didn't stay, the place has a friendly atmosphere and the menu looked good. Will be back to eat and drink.

The food is delicious (when served) but after ordering the drinks we found out the kitchen was saturated and no orders were taken. The bar tender went from bad to rude and not for the first time. We like the place and has a nice terrace but starting to question if it is worth suffering the manager.
