Food was excellent and so much of it! We ate in the conservatory and the service was excellent. Really enjoyed our Sunday Lunch

Myself and my wife have had a few anniversary meals here and there always great. Good food and good service. Even during covid the pub had a great atmosphere and the staff worked hard can't wait to eat here again once we're allowed.

Popped in for lunch today and was very impressed with the 'covid' regime and the ususal welcome from the staff. Ordered Prawn and Chirizo starters and they were evenr better than 2 weeks ago. Having asked the question re the recipe was informed that the chef(s) have improved it, and it showed, very nice!! Wont need the menu next time i feel.

This was only the third time out to eat since C19 started. The Tudor Rose felt covid safe. I had booked and we were to our tables. Clear signage around about masks etc.Food was great. We just had a light lunch but very reasonably priced compared to other local lunch venues and with better service. Friendly staff who were attentive and timely. No waiting ages for the bill when asked. Nice traditional pub. We will be back.

Went here today for lunch - the choice of food was beyond expectations for a pub lunch - I had field mushroom with cheese and spinach and hubby had cheese & bacon croquettes with homemade bbq sauce for starters and for main I had lamb rump and hubby had calves livers - was amazing

I’m really disappointed with the Tudor Rose tonight unfortunately. I won’t be returning and I normally love it here. I ordered my food and it was not good at all so I didn’t eat it and complained. It still appeared on the bill so I asked to take it off. He just said that it was because they use salt and then just stood there. Uncomfortable and not very customer focused. No one likes to pay for bad food.. maybe put yourself in the shoes of the customer and treat them how you would expect to be treated when you dine out.

I haven't had a meal out in a while, and was nervous about the pub being too busy/crowded. However straight away there was clear signage and I could see the staff working extra hard to keep the pub clean and in order. We all wore masks apart from my mother who is exempt and wears a lanyard, which they were very accepting of. Food was lovely - I had the salmon and seabass special and my mother had a roast. perfect! We felt safe all the time and will definitely be coming back!

Came at the weekend with friends lovely to see all the changes that have been made since last time we was in and lovely to see them and customers wearing visors/ masks and food was excellent as always friendly staff nothing is to much trouble for them be back every soon

We were regular costumers as from today and would 't be going back after being attacked for not wearing masks 5 times in 20 minutes. ....you would have though the 1st explanation would have been shared with staff so as not to embarrass costomer's...doctors files are data protected and shouldn't be discussed with waiting staff in restaunts!!! I am disappointed that I have to give an explained definition of why I'm not wearing a mask to a public person it's disgusting! !! I love the food normally but after this experience I won't be returning!!! Shame really We will not be returning or recommending to others

Really unimpressed. Would not recommend. Food was expensive but not good quality. Customer service was abrasive and slow. Spent £45 on what was meant to be a quick bite for lunch that took an hour and a half and was not good food when it arrived after being advised by the staff to not order from the cheaper deals menu as apparently it was lower quality (? bizarre?). Track and trace details only taken for one customer out of 5 or 6 groups who came in whilst we were there. Huge menu (not in a good way) and the food reflects it. Won't be going back.

The food at this restaurant is worth a visit the meat potions and veg are enormous and the puddings are very good too

Go and have a carvery. The chef is so nice , so funny whatever you want he will give you. He made us laugh what a great atmosphere. Will go again just to see the chef. Oh and the food was good as well.

Had a lovely 3 course meal with my friend. We had shared cammembert,surf & turf & vegetarian tart with vegetables.Eton mess & cheescake.It was all lovely & plentiful .It was busy as it was was eat out to help out scheme but we didn't have to wait very long for our food .Only negative is I think that £12.50 ( £6.25 per glass )for 2 large glasses of wine is expensive,when asked if this was correct they said it's cheaper to buy a bottle for £15 but I wasn't given the option to buy a bottle .Other than that it was perfect.

I visited on Friday with some friends and the service was great. I ordered the garlic flatbread and that was really nice. It was just overall a really nice evening and I'd definitely come again.

Visited recently on Friday with some friends. The pub was amazing and the service was impeccable! To prevent people going in and out of the pub to get to the bar a lovely waitress made sure that we did not want for anything and waited on us hand and foot! Nothing was too much and considering the ridiculous heat she stayed professional and attentive throughout! I would highly recommend the baked cambembert which complimented a pimms in the sunshine brilliantly! Will definatley be revisting for a 3 course dinner!

Went for a sunday lunch upstairs in the carvery. The chef was great he made us laugh and made sure we had plenty to eat. Apparently a maximum of 12 Yorkshire puddings what a star. We were made to feel so welcome by all the staff I can't wait to go back. No more cooking Sunday roasts for me. 5 stars well done the owner.

Always said to really know if you like a place, you should go for yourselves to try and form an opinion! Visited the other night on for a meal for 4. I had the duck breast off the chef specials board which was beautifully cooked. Staff were attentive from arrival until we left and nothing was ever a problem for them. Noticed in the porch there were sanitizers to use too, which is good for whats going on at the moment! Overall, good value for money with large portions, nice atmosphere and very helpful staff. Will defo be coming back!

Went for a quiet meal with family and was absolutely stunned by the food which came out, we ordered for a group of four of us a lemon chicken pasta, pork belly, surf and turf sizzler and a cod and chips, portion sizes were more than enough and the standard of product was above excellent. I couldn't recommend the tudor rose more highly from our past experience.

Came here with friend was lovely to see they have taken precautions with hand sanitizer and nice to see it still busy food was amazing as always staff nice and polite nice to see people supporting local restaurants

Visited the tudor rose Saturday night with friends. Good to see hand sanitizer around the pub. My group decided to try some of the new specials which were simply Devine. I had the sizzling rump steak with prawns, cooked to perfection.We all roughly enjoyed our night, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. It was nice to see staff using the hand sanitizer after handling money as well. They are definitely taking the virus seriously. We will be back very soon.

The Tudor Rose has a good reputation, and therefore we went as a group of 9 for a birthday celebration. Unfortunately when our sharing starter came the side plates were dumped on the table for us to hand out.. I notice my plate was not very clean and I wiped with a napkin, but one of the other guests actually had mould on the plate. We returned all the plates and we got an apology, But this did give the group a bad feeling and completely put us off our meal.. if it was not a birthday celebration we would have left the restaurant immediately. In general the main meals were ok, but I think the start had put us off our meals, and the fish was not great.Very disappointed at the cleanliness of the plates, and with the corona virus you would think extra effort would be taken.

We visited the pub for my nephew's 16th birthday on Saturday, 14th March. We ordered olives and breads to start with. Side plates were placed in a pile on the table and we passed them around. We were horrified to find a mouldy substance on top of one of the plates and a couple of other plates that were not completely clean either. It put us off but as it was a birthday celebration we stayed. In hindsight I wish we had left the restaurant as it left us all with a bad feeling regarding our meals. In these uncertain times regarding health concerns with Covid 19 it was good to see that the pub had taken steps to insert sanitizer dispensers at the entance of the pub. However this seems pointless if they are not following this through by checking the cleanliness of plates, utensils and eating areas.I have eaten at the Tudor Rose many times before and never had any complaints so I was very disappointed. However, after tonight I am certain I won't be returning.

Top rate food, vegetarian options are extensive and very tasty, excellent service and atmosphere! Very good evening !

I needed to arrange an 80th birthday celebration for my mum and from the moment i contacted the pub they were very helpful and accommodating. We supplied cake, balloons and a few table decorations which they kindly setup for us along wth bringing the cake out and the perfect time. Food was excellent, staff were super friendly and the service was excellent. Will definitely use again.

The food is really nice and fresh had a pork roast and the price is good to but could do a bit more choices on the menu

Arrived at 6.10pm for 6.15 booking. Told to leave by 8PM as table booked. Gave my table to another couple who were told to move. Took 15 mins to be seated. I will report on food and service later.

The place was heaving at lunch time on a Wednesday. Food coming out looked huge and when ours came out it didn't disappoint. The portions are massive. The food tasted divine and it was really reasonably priced. Lovely pub

29 of us were here to celebrate uncle Micks 60th birthday. Ranging from 2 to 69 everyone was catered for perfectly, the food was delicious, I had the steak and ale pudding which was beautiful and the roasts looked beautiful, you won’t go hungry, the portions are good. Fabulous Banoffee Pie too. Would highly recommend and definitely return,

Came here for my dads 60th birthday. We done this as a surprise with 28 people. The staff were brilliant, and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend here.

Four of us visited the Friday before Christmas and ate from the a la carte menu. Our table was next to the fire, there wasn’t a lot of room, I felt that perhaps we had been squeezed in for Christmas but nevertheless I was grateful to get a table. The food was delicious and plentiful. I would definitely recommend.

Came for birthday dinners and OMG how lovely was the food and service. Hadn’t been here for years but will def come back as quite simply so well presented and tasty was the food, service brilliant and portions enormous xxx

We recently enjoyed an evening meal at the Tudor Rose. We were seated in one of the "booth's" which was very comfortable. We ordered our main courses which came in good time although there was a slight delay before the vegetables arrived. We ordered the steak suet pudding and lamb shank. Both dishes were served piping hot and were very tasty. For desserts we chose the salted caramel cheese cake and sticky toffee pudding. The sticky toffee pudding was nice but was more like a treacle sponge. The cheese cake was a bit disappointing as the texture was more like a mousse and it did not have very much flavour. The service was polite and friendly throughout. We enjoyed our meal and would return.

We came to the tudor rose for boxing day I booked my family in as a 13 but only 12 came which wasnt a problem at all to the staff, our food was delicious, there was a buffet section and carvery to choose from which is alot of food for what we paid we all had different meats and really enjoyed them, a big selection and vegetables which was good for the kids as mine is quite fussy but she tried and liked most of them and we also got a desert which was yummy. We was very well looked after by the staff checking we was ok and had everything we needed! Me and my family will be returning again. A big thank you to the staff for taking time out from family to make sure my family had a lovely day on boxing day! X

I came her for a meal in September in the Conservatory & ordered from the A la carte menu, which was lovely, a very good experience. Due to a family bereavement we decided to book here for Boxing Day to make it less stressful, the reviews of the Carvery were generally very good, we were really looking forward to this as it was unusual for us to eat out over Christmas. From the moment we arrived we were disappointed, we were shown to an upstairs section, which was like walking into a time warp, it was extremly run down & dated, & we were shown to a poky corner table.

Oh my. What wonderful food. The fillet steak was the best we had ever tasted. Cooked to perfection. Loads of flavour. The lamb shank melted in your mouth. The sirloin was also top notch. Even the salad was bursting with flavour. For starters, try the baked camembert to share, it was on another level with the spicy chilli jam. Puddings, we tried the brownie and cheesecake and they didn't disappointed. Great atmosphere, great service. We will be back. Top marks Tudor Rose

I’ve been many here many times for Christmas Day dinner & each visit gets better & better. But this year’s Christmas dinner was in a different class. Everything about it was simply perfect, food, service, surroundings & the atmosphere, I could not fault it at all, so much so I’ve already booked it for next year, very well done to all concerned, this is one very happy customer & I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one.

Eight of us met for our usual Christmas 'get together' at this really welcoming venue. The staff are so friendly and will engage in a little light banter but are certainly not intrusive.

I stopped here with a friend for a bite to eat at lunchtime. We sat at the bar as the pub wasn’t at all busy, drinking our drinks. After studying the menus, that were on the bar for five minutes or so, we tried to order 2 Ploughman’s lunches, to be told that the kitchen was closed because of a private function.

Have dined both upstairs (carvery) and in the restaurant and bar downstairs. Never failed to impress and the varied menu has something for everyone. Meals are lovely and served in generous portions.

Good plentiful meals and pleasant, attentive staff. We all thought that in the past the Tudor Rose has been let down by indifferent service. But not today.

I had been looking for a place to eat near Sittingbourne to arrange a meet up with friends for Christmas - was recommended The Tudor Rose and not disappointed!!! My husband and I thought we would give it a go - starters - Cauliflower and Stilton soup and Camembert Cheese with ample bread, sticks & Crackers - both dishes very filling, hot & very tasty Then came the mains - we both had the steak pudding with vegetables & potatoes - WOW!!! Hot, cooked very well, excellent presentation and large portions. Staff were very attentive, helpful, professional & polite - thankyou to all staff who made our visit a very enjoyable experience. Five of us went for a family dinner last evening, 3 locals & 2 from Canada. We all had different starter & main courses. All arrived hot & within seconds of each other, I hate it when you have to wait for a meal to arrive. Everyone enjoyed their meals & no one left anything even though the portions were large. Overall an excellent meal with great wine & good service

Lunch is excellent ,not the cheapest for main meals but you can get a really decent lunch there and worth it . Portions are a good size and nice selection. Staff are friendly enough and spacious seating .Would make a beeline for this when in area .

We - 13 people - went on a Monday night. We got a friendly greeting on arrival and drinks orders were taken promptly. I had the chicken wrapped in bacon, which came with potatoes and vegetables. It was excellent and the best I have ever had. The flavour in the sauce was amazing. I also tried a small piece of another guest's chicken, bacon and leek pie and that was fantastic too. Every guest had a great meal. The service was good. I thought it was extremely good value. I also thought it was telling that even on a chilly Monday night in October, the place was rammed. We will certainly be going back.

Great pub for a Sunday roast. Booked a table for 5pm but was delayed but 20 minutes so sat in the downstairs bar area. Once the table was free we were seated and asked for drinks (small bar upstairs for table service only too). The carvery was well organised. Each table was seated and told when they could go up which meant that everything was stocked up for each table so you were never missing anything from your plate! You can go up twice for veggies (if you want to?!) but meat once. Decor is a bit dated but food is great.

Good quality & quantity - large portions you need a healthy appetite. also a fair range on the menu all be it reduced for a large party, but that is understandable.

Visited with two business colleagues on a stop over, the welcome was good, choice of beers good, the food served very good and plentiful, But sadly the service was lacking, on several occasions trying to get a response by eye contact and beckoning was ignored. Little things like no sticks to eat olives with were met with a huff, paying the bill took forever and for the first time in the last couple of years in hundreds of restaurants I didn’t leave a tip as they let the side down. Pity as everything else was very good.

Came in for lunch yesterday with some friends and was not disappointed!! We were greeted at the bar by a waiter who showed us to our table. We didn’t book so we were asked if we preferred a booth or a table in the conservatory ! We opted for the conservatory as it is nice, bright and atmospheric! With the amount of variety it was hard to choose! The same man came and took our order, as well as helped us with our choices ! I went for the sea bass with the risotto balls (yum!) as well as a fish and chips and belly pork on our table ... all the food looked nice, and tasted even better! The waiter and waitresses all took part in making sure we were looked after, so thank you! We couldn’t manage a dessert but we’ll be back at some point to try those !!

Very disappointed. Four of us eating, three meals returned. The 3 prawn tagletteli were tasteless, was not hot right through seemed as if was heated in a microwave. We had friends visiting from Canada and five years ago when they were here we visited twice and had such good food then that they asked to return. Was embarrassed tonight. Staff were not that concerned they replaced the meal for another choice which was just ok. Won't be returning.

Came here Saturday night with my husband for meal, all I can say is perfection. Meals cooked beautifully staff friendly and had a cosy welcoming feel when you walk in. Definitely our number one spot for our date nights when we are child free 😊

After a disappointing Sunday roast last week in Rochester the tables have turned. Booked a table not long before me and my mate Dan arrived, the service was really friendly and the food portion size is great, the meat was cooked perfectly and the vegetables (which are unlimited) are lovely and fresh. We’ve come from London to check this place out and it’s well worth the drive. There may be only two of us, but you’ve got three yes’s , see you in finals.

Visited on Saturday just after opening and was made to feel very welcome and was asked what table we would like (much prefer this if possible) and sat down.

Really disappointed with this experience. We made a reservation for the bar area, show up and get our drinks to then be seated with no menus. We then have to ask for menus. The food was enjoyable, but the lack of service ruined it for us. After having our table cleared, we were offered dessert menus, which we accepted, to then be left waiting for a further ten minutes for the menus. After asking again, we get the menus. We decided what desserts we would like, however continue to be ignored and after a further ten minutes of waiting ask for the bill instead. A waitress then comes over to ask us if we want desserts? We had to reiterate how we asked for the bill. POOR SERVICE. DO NOT BOOK IN SO MANY TABLES IF YOU CANNOT COPE WITH THE DEMAND.

A good pub restaurant. Interesting selection of food, well cooked, well served. Traditional rather than exotic but none the worse for that.

Celebrating a family anniversary thought we'd try somewhere different from usual haunts and were not disappointed. Seated immediately, attentive and helpful waiters and waitresses. Food well cooked and well presented and large portions so no room for any desserts. A pleasant experience.

We visited with family for a carvery. The set menu was very bland (for starters and desert and none of us really had anything that stood out as being tasty) We found the actual carvery very disappointing. Some of our meat was tough and the vegetables which were just stood there were luke warm, uninteresting and tasteless. We will definitely avoid in the future. Definitely not value for money.

We visited the Tudor Rose today as a birthday meal for a Sunday roast, the meats were lovely and generous portions, the vegetables could have done with being hotter but overall a nice meal out.

Visited this friendly pub whilst walking the North Downs Way. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Pub is delightful and food is beautifully prepared. Try the steak and ale pie - you won’t be disappointed! Thoroughly recommend.

Lovely friendly pub and restaurant. The food is good English favourites and reasonably priced. The staff are really good and service was very quick. Good sized car park.

Table booked for 7.30 and arrived at that time, first food arrived at 8.45 and even then only after asking indifferent staff three times each time being told they'd get someone to take our order. Food good value but uninspiring, don't think we'll be going again.

Excellent customer service, we were pre-warned of a delay because a large table of 18 were booked in .. on reflection we weren’t aware of any delay .. the staff were delightful.. very friendly.. the food was very good, the mixed grill was great, the sirloin steak .. so tender & flavoursome.. my vegi meal .. spinach & mushroom lasagna was really good .. the portion sizes were very generous.. we left quite a lot but couldn’t squeeze any more in .. though it has to be said we did enjoy the apple crumble.. great meal, great staff & reasonably priced given the quality..

The Tudor Rose is very well located and seemed an ideal location for a lunch. Whilst having visited a few times over the years we had not been for what seemed ages and it had changed hands in that time.

This was the 1st ever time of being here and the food was out of this world. We had 3 courses and didn’t leave hungry. The service was pretty and friendly especially from the manager who didn’t disappoint. I will certainly be going back there soon as I won’t go no where else now

Visited here with friends on the off chance hoping to get a table, it looked quite busy but we was met by friendly staff who found us a tables straight away. The service continued to be happy and helpful throughout and the food was amazing and we certainly didn’t leave hungry! Would definitely return maybe I’ll have room for dessert next time !

We visited the Tudor Rose today for their Sunday Carvery as it has very good reviews. We were directed upstairs to a very dated dingy room that is well overdue a lick of paint. We decided to have a starter before the carvery. Starters were fine but once finished our empty plates sat on the table for 15 minutes while 3 members of staff laid tables. There was 4 tables occupied including ours so they were not busy. We cleared our plates and took them to the bar ourselves. We made our way to the carvery but was told we need to remain seated until we are told to go, which took another 10 minutes. Once we were told we could go to the carvery, the chef that was carving the meat had to go to get more meat, sort the plates out, replenish some veg while other staff were standing around doing nothing, he clearly looked hot and stressed, and quite frankly could have done with some help. Having said all that the food was really good and plenty of it, however, I would not return due to the extremely bad service.

I wrote a review in 2017 saying how our group of friends rated the Tudor Rose as excellent.We have felt the same since on many visits.The latest visit was very disappointing.Two people ordered sirloin steak which we were told came with salad and chips.The steaks arrived with salad followed by a dish of chips each and another dish of SALAD.Why would you need two lots of salad?The other dishes came mixed vegetables.We asked why the difference and were told that's the way it is.One steak,which was ordered as medium was very under cooked and had a lot of hard gristly bits.The other steak,ordered as medium to well done,was just about medium and again with gristly bits.When we complained we were told you have to expect lots of grizzly bits with sirloin steak.On one steak one third of the meat was inedible.We have never met that before.Eventually the steak was changed but the meal was spoilt because the other diners had finished their meals before they arrived.We felt the visit was very different to all our others,there was no atmosphere,only three tables in use and few people in the bar.Has the ownership changed?Things seemed very different and somethings seemed a little overpriced.

Arrived without booking and were accommodated by a bar table which wasn’t a problem. So would recommend booking ahead. Plenty of staff were working which was good and all were attentive.

Excellent menu with some lovely specials. I had a wild mushroom starter which was outstanding. And the lamb shank special. Portions are large (and this from an American...). Beautifully cooked and very tasty. I have been here before a few times - but not in the last few years my impression is they are even better now. Recommended

I booked this about 30mins before we went for 11 of us for my nans birthday ..so impressed the manager was incredible helpful and considerate.. the food!!! Compliments to the chef so tasty such good size portions brilliant lunch thank you

We went as a party of 15 for lunch and could not fault the food or service. Helpings were very generous and of good quality. We all ordered different choices from the menu but everything was extremely good.

We visited here on Sunday to meet up with family. Roast was lovely! Puddings were great too. Staff friendly. Will come back soon!

Well what can I say about this pub restaurant. We booked for 40 people a few months ago for my sons 21 birthday and as with these things the numbers dwindled. Then the night coincided with the European Champions Final.

I popped into this local pub, near where I was staying, and there was a friendly atmosphere, albeit very few customers. The decor was rather dark, i have to admit. The wine was served at the right temperature. A typical village pub - needed some sparkle.

Stopped here before going on to isle of sheppey as it was convenient for family travelling from different areas. Sat in garden as was a beautiful day. Ordered drinks & lunch, service was very good & meals bought out for us. Very large portions we had ploughmans, jacket potatoes & mussels - every meal was delicious & we would love to live nearer so we could go weekly.

I was told about this restaurant by a friend and each time I tried to get a table, I couldn’t, I know why now. I went there on Friday 4th April with a friend for lunch and the food was amazing, service was outstanding. The toilets clean and tidy. I thoroughly recommend this pub/restaurant. Will definitely be visiting again.

Four of us ladies went there to eat and for a lovely catch-up. Oh my goodness you couldn't fault anything. Food was scrummy and beautifully presented and the staff were very attentive and just so helpful. The head waitress who seated us went that extra mile for one of us, as my friend has a dairy intolerance . Shes was soooooooooo helpful and sorted out a dairy free meal, main and of course a pudding haha Thank you very much Tudor Rose, we'll definitely be back xx

My sister, niece and I took our Mum to Tudor Rose for Mother’s Day it was absolutely perfect.

Today we visited for a one o’clock reservation in the conservatory. We were greeted and Sri EKA sorted before being shown to our tables. The conservatory was spacious so we could easily get to our table without disturbing anyone else. The menu was extensive but 5/6 of us went for the roasts and one chicken escalope. We had some delicious prawn cocktails but in future I’d go straight for mains as the portions are epic. The roasts had so much meat we were able to bring a large doggybag home for a very excited/ spoilt puppy. We did have to ask for more veg but this came without a problem. My son was the only one who went for pudding as we were all full. I did however manage a little taste and the salted caramel cheese cake was light and amazing. The service was excellent throughout. The waiters and waitresses were around but never intrusive. I totally recommend a visit and to choose the roast. Although the chicken escalope looked fantastic too.

A lovely pub and restaurant ! We dropped in unexpectedly on a Friday night and despite being fully booked they found us a table for two for an hour and a half. Food was lovely - service good. Very reasonable prices. Will visit again.

Visited for a Sunday lunch with family, upon arrival we were greeted by miserable faces at the bar, it took a long time before anyone asked us for our reservation and sat us. Once sat no one came over to give us menus or ask for drinks, it took 10 minutes and us calling a waiter over to finally serve us.

We visited the Tudor Rose for Christmas lunch. The pub is always very friendly and the staff helpful and efficient. The food was good and plentiful, hot and tasty. You can always rely on a good standard of meal here.

good atmosphere and real ales. Pleasant staff with a real old fashioned feel. Lots of space and a really good menu.

We booked a table for 5.45 and after chasing staff, finally got to placing an order at around 6.05.

Well, just returned from another wonderful meal at this pub.

I have reviewed this restaurant before and I can honestly say it is hard to find fault with this venue. Every meal I have had has been excellent. Compliments to chef. The staff are welcoming and polite. We felt valued customers. You need to book well in advance especially weekends.
