A lovely cream tea with a large warm scone, delicious jam and a small "taster" of cake as well. Add in the fact that the individual pots of tea are a good size and you can get two cups worth out of them and I would say that this is a great spot. A bonus is that it is directly off of the car park so you don't have to pay any entrance fees to get to it.

Couldn't go into the house. Gardens are pretty but doesn't take long to walk round. There is a concession for disabled where carers go free, however this isn't shown on the website - so don't book tickets in advance! They also don't seem very aware on the rules of assistance dogs. Maybe we just went the wrong time of the year in September. The lovely tea room however serves great cream teas and some delicious homemade soup.

Had to give one star as was not possible to give none at all. A very disappointing garden. Probably 50 years ago it may have been fine but now is an overgrown jungle.

Lunch is only served 12-2pm, looked up online first and nowhere specified lunch serving time. Was a little disappointed as turned up at 2:20pm and no cream teas (ran out). We previously visited the past 2 years and love the tea room as it's superb food. Update few days later returned for lunch and was amazing food as always and savoury cream tea is just heaven! Recommend highly for amazing tea room and cream teas, just make sure if you want lunch you arrive before 2pm.

Mom and sisters brought tickets. 1:30pm lady at the ticket counter said there was no soup or quiche, however cream teas and cakes were available. They went to the cafe and waited 10 mins whilst the servers walked past. Ignored by the man and lady making drinks, after 5 mins a young lady acknowledged my sister's and mom and said there is no food available. So went to see the gardens. The family behind also acknowledged it was ridiculous to have no food for a lunch@ 1:30pm friday 15th September. Well done for a rubbish place for lunch. Gardens has poor signage And no maps available. Dont waste your time coming here

Very well priced garden with a lovely and reasonably priced tearoom. I think it may depend on the time of year as to the plant interest in the garden, but hydrangeas were beautiful, as were the tree ferns. I found some unusual plants to buy. For me, there could have been better signage.

Lovely gardens. Had lunch in the tea room there. My only question is about serving food in takeaway boxes. Surely having food served on reusable good old fashioned crockery is better. Although the takeaway boxes are recyclable they still have to be manufactured, and they are only single use.

Great place for a cream tea. Quality of food excellent with fresh cream and jam to accompany the warm home made scones. Wife had soup and bread but I wanted a ploughman's and was told unavailable as they had no bread! Greek salad unavailable and nothing else suitable for lunch so had to make do with a cake. Staff not apologetic about anything.

After visiting the lovely gardens decided to stop for lunch at the Tea Shed as it is in a pretty setting. Only a few things on lunch menu, quiche, soup, greek salad and ploughmans. We both decided on the ploughmans, with an idea in our head of the usual salad, cheese, bread etc., what was actually served in a box was 2 wedges each of heavy bread, a lump of cheese a pickled onion, small bit of pickle and the smallest slither of apple imaginable, We were somewhat disappointed. The setting is pretty and the birds fly down to the table, but even they didn't want the breadcrumbs. Maybe just stick to tea and cake.

Trewithen is a delightful gem; beautiful gardens, friendly staff and lovely tea rooms. Shame there is no designated area for dogs to be let off lead after walking the countless paths but keeping dog on lead is a small price to pay for the enjoyment of wandering amongst majestic trees and flowering shrubs. This was my first visit but won't be my last .... going to invest in a season ticket.

On our recent holiday, we visited Trewithen Gardens for the first time and in the morning called into the Tea Shed for coffee (excellent) before exploring the superb gardens. Afterwards, went back to the Tea Shed for lunch and were not disappointed. Had delicious home-made quiche and salad. Later in the week called in for afternoon tea and enjoyed a piece of home-made cake. Always a warm welcome and friendly service in this peaceful setting. Next time we visit Cornwall the Tea Shed at Trewithen Gardens will definitely be on our list of places to visit again. (NOTE: You can visit the Tea Shed without paying to go into the gardens. Also, there is free parking, unlike The National Trust!).

Better maps and even a brochure to take with you as we wandered very aimlessly around and went 'off piste' !! No concessions for over 60's !! But was questioned if my partner used a walking stick, wheelchair or I was a carer??!! Would that have been a concession? Considering a large proportion of visitors would be in the concession age range , is that the reason why there are no concessions???

Maybe passed its best in July but why did the house shut on June 28th? No simple map leaflet on offer to guide one round...the occasional (and often partly hidden) maps on posters were haphazard. Couldn't find the wild flower garden ....the paths are confusing. The whole 'garden' looked uncared for and almost neglected. More effort needed to justify the £10 entrance fee. If you like flowers, this is a must! I however am not a fan! I mean, don't get me wrong I like to see the blooms and all the colours, especially the bees and other pollinators going about thier buisness. But what they are called or the declasification of names is too much foe me! So with all that aside, lots of lovely pink, red, yellow, pink and white colour flowers. I had a lovely time pushing my 92yr old nan (in law) around and the words of exclamation coming out of her mouth told me that she very much enjoyed the sights, sounds and smells of the gardens. Most of which we were able to navigate in her wheelchair. Some bits we couldn't, but there was enough. We had a spot of lunch which I have to say was amazing! I had a ploughman's, and was delighted to see two large chunks of cheddar along with nice pieces of bread, some deliciously strong pickled onions etc... all served in good time by very polite and friendly staff. Even though they were busy, they remained un-flustered and friendly. Well worth a visit, and to be honest I think it's better than the more famous Helegan Gardens!! I'll definitely come back, if only to try some of those delicious looking cakes that were on offer!! Very highly recomed coming here. You won't be disappointed. 👍
