Trattoria Toscana in Doncaster

Just had fantastic dinner to celebrate my wife’s birthday, fantastic menu, lovely family atmosphere. Food was superb, highly recommend, in my top 3 best restaurants in Doncaster, will be regular visitors!!!

We have been eating at this restaurant for nearly 20 years 🇮🇹 at least once a month and each every time we are made to feel so welcome. The food is delicious especially the steaks. Always cooked to perfection! The restaurant is full from 5pm to closing so booking is essential. Dino and his team work incredibly hard to make each customers experience the best it an be. We look forward to many more years of friendship and delicious food 🇮🇹

I visit this restaurant with a group of friends on a regular basis and we have always been happy with the food and service; not this time however. It's a long story but basically there was a mix up over the dishes delivered. When one of our party refused, justifiably, a dish which had been given to another in our party and had been cut into, we were made to feel very uncomfortable. The senior waiter, along with other waiters as a sort of Greek chorus, was most unpleasant and finally said he would not accept any further bookings from us! Teatt The experience felt even worse because one of our friends is moving away and it was probably our last meal together in Doncaster. We have eaten here several times a year for the last seven years or so and are dismayed and upset over the treatment we received. It seems that customer is NOT always right at Trattoria Toscana.

What can I say? Another fantastic meal again. Everytime I come here the food is outstanding as well as the customer service. I was so full, but I did manage to squeeze in a dessert. Glad I did as the caramel cheesecake was lovely. I do recommend booking a table as it's always busy when I come.

Possibly my favourite restaurant. Always brilliant service. Always amazing food. Always a great price. Staff are lovely as is the atmosphere. We will continue to go here often. Recommended to all!

Myself and my husband visited on on sunday 2/7/23. All i can say is BELLISSIMO! although only a small restaurant and it was very busy , i can see why! We had booked and we were seated quickly. The waiters were friendly and as there were only 2 of them they were working really hard. We didnt wait long at all for the starters, i had king prawns in garlic and white wine and my husband had breaded mozzarella in a tomato sauce. The food was so well presented and piping hot as well as delicious. Onto the mains, i had spinach and ricotta canalloni and my husband had beef and red wine ravioli. The sauces were exquisite and mine was bubbling hot, something i really like so a plus for me. My husband had 2 peronis and i had 2 pepsis. The bill came to £39.20, another pleasent surprise. Will definatly go back 10 out of 10

We really loved the food her and the price was amazing. Everything arrived very quickly and to a very high quality. The steak melted in your mouth and the mussels were divine. A hidden gem in Doncaster. We will be back!

Absolutely great service, food was amazing everyone out of the 5 family members were truly impressed not only with the food but the service was more than great, felt totally comfortable, great atmosphere and will be going back!

I couldn’t attend my friends birthday but wanted to surprise her and send some champagne .. when I called they said no … absolutely ridiculous couldn’t pay over phone !!!

Amazing restaurant, been loads of time with the family and took my boyfriend tonight. Lovely staff, fantastic service can’t do enough for you. Easily one of the best restaurants in Doncaster… very lucky it’s just a 20min walk away. Big clap to this lovely business 👏

We were ushered to the table rushed to order our starters even though we were still waiting for another friend to arrive and felt the staff were waiting for us to leave (at 9.30 supposed to be open till 11.00) all the time we were there. Our waiter seemed under pressure and virtually threw our coffees at us good food but staff unfriendly and wanted us out we will not be going to this restaurant again.

The service was extremely rushed. From the minute we arrived they just wanted to get our order and get rid of us. Admittedly it was booked for 8pm Wednesday but we had left by 9.45.

My friend and I came here last night and as always, fantastic food and great service. It's a lovely Italian restaurant in Doncaster which I can highly recommend. I had the Calzone and Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert. Both were superb and great value.

First visit and won't be the last. A treat for hubbys birthday. Food was absolutely lovely. A extensive menu to suit everyone, personally was really pleased to see a great fish menu but it had loads of chicken and meat plus your usual Italian favourites...

Having seen such good reviews I was expecting better than I got. The restaurant felt cold. There was no Halibut on offer and no gluten free desserts. I felt sorry for the one waiter who was doing his very best to serve and be sociable...

Returning to our favourite restaurant and greeted like old friends. We have been coming here years and the service just gets better. The food is always top notch and they make my husband his favourite bolognese pizza with extra onions perfectly. The covid regulations are implemented to the letter and the restaurant is always full. Glad you are back open, we have missed you all

We’ve been today for lunch, 4 adults & 2 kids. The service was amazing, & the food was outstanding, very tasty. I had the spicy meatballs to start with (best ever) & for my main Tuna steak with mussels again amazing. I would definitely recommend this place & we will be returning

Love this place. Highly recommend the pancake stuffed with chicken. Mon - Thurs 5-7 they offer any pizza,pasta,pancake for £5.95. the food is lovely, the place is clean and has a good atmosphere, the staff are friendly and the toilets were clean. A bottle of wine cost me approx£15 which I thought was very reasonable for a restaurant. There was a one way system and lots of alcohol gel . This place gets very busy so booking is essential.

Family evening meal. A tad old fashioned decor maybe, but the food is simply fabulous...good quality meat cooked perfectly...sauces absolutely beautiful.. gorgeous pasta. The service was impeccable, nothing was too much trouble. We were also highly impressed with the house red wine too, smooth, rich and fruity. Well worth a visit, highly recommend.

Never been here before and came on a recommendation for my dads birthday. Was greeted when we walked in by the lovely staff, plenty of hand sanitizer and all staff wearing masks too. Tables were also separated well and dividers up on walk ways which made us feel safe. The food we had was fantastic, really fresh and tasty. Recommend the beef stroganoff and the bruschetta to start with. Fantastically priced also and I like the vintage decor! Will definitely return

Been loads of times, food and service always great but take note chefs had masks on protecting their chins all the time so if your covid worried give it a miss.

We had excellent food lasagna pizzas great fresh mixed salads. Service great and felt really safe in spite of covid situation. We would highly recommend eating here

Me and my girlfriend visited this restaurant the first night it was open after lockdown and it was so worth the wait! We had been here once before, and we were impressed then too!The food here is out of this world! To start I ordered the garlic bread with cheese, and it comes as an actual garlic bread pizza and the tomato sauce they serve it with is amazing!For my main I ordered the lasagne, and again, amazing! In fact it was that good I don't think I'd order anything else! Truly amazing!The pricing in this restaurant is also very, very good!!I can't reccomend this place enough!10/10!

We visited on a Thursday evening after work and took advantage of the offer between 5 and 7 pm of any pasta pizza or pancake for £6.95. I had the podcasts and my husband had the predators and both were delicious. The place was packed we almost didn't get a table as we hadn't booked

Visited for an valentines meal, we’d been here twice before and would definitely recommend. The bill came to £50 for 2 starters, 2 mains and 3 drinks so it’s good value. The food is so tasty especially if you love garlic as much as I do! We’ll be back again I’m sure

As soon as you enter this restaurant the friendly atmosphere envelopes you as you are welcomed and escorted to you booked table.The menu is comprehensive and is a mixture of pure Italian and dishes that lean towards Italian that aim to please all tastes. There is a "specials board" in addition to the main menu but I would suggest that all the the offerings are special, all except the salad which needs work to make it a more exceptional side orderI ordered meatballs as an appetiser and a fillet steak with a peppercorn sauce. The meatballs were delicious in their tomato sauce and very Italian served with no pasta just a little bread. The steak, though French in recipe, was delightful. The fillet steak was a good 8 to 10 oz and the "au poivre" was excellent. The house wine is delicious in both red or white and truly Italian.Would I go back, absolutely !Have I been back.....twice this month so far!

We've eaten here several times over the last three or four years, as a couple and as part of groups of up to 10 people. Nine of us ate here last night and we all said afterwards that we'll be back.Good food at reasonable prices, friendly and efficient service, and the restaurant is pleasantly presented and lit. If I have a criticism it's that the place can feel a little cramped when all tables are occupied, but that's a minor issue and doesn't detract from the overall experience.

Having visited this place numerous times this year & also eaten here last Christmas Day we were all looking forward to our meal . I had ordered prawn cocktail for starters which wasn’t to bad but would have been nice to have some brown bread with it , my wife’s garlic mushrooms were ok but again no crusty bread ,for main I’d gone for the traditional Turkey, on the plate there was 2 pigs in blankets minus the blankets, four boiled potatoes, not roasted,five sprouts, few carrots & a Yorkshire pudding, someone had ordered the beef but found it very tuff & told the waiter & he swooped it for Turkey, my Xmas puddings with custard was ok , but no coffee no mince pies were offered, all our table left disappointed having such a lovely time last year, just seemed the chef hadn’t turned up .

Always had a good meal here. Staff are all friendly and its good value for money especially through the week as all pizza and pasta dishes £5.95.

Visited the restaurant on Friday 8th November with family. We were greeted by staff at the reception/bar. After which we were show to our table. A waiter came over to us and handed out the menu's and took our drinks order.

Visited with my mum after a long trip home from London. They refused to serve us because we wanted to share a pizza and two sides!!!! We had to leave....

Consistently excellent in atmosphere service and food . Not a budget place but it won't break the bank either.The seafood menu is without reproach and the welcome always warm.

My granddaughter 13th birthday, table for 16 people, orders taken, and lovely starters served quickly and hot . Didn’t have to wait long for main courses again all at same time and hot . Great food and service to say how busy they were and the best chicken pancake I’ve had ! Good value at early specials !

Nice meal for 2 earlier tonight. There is no till so the bill is added up manually and I’m overcharged a significant £10. Funny how I’m never undercharged when people “make mistakes”! You should get a till and give properly itemised bills so that people can check them easier and avoid ripping off customers. I won’t go back ever as I really don’t like to feel I am being conned. Check your bills is my advice.

We are regulars at this brilliant restaurant but last night was extra special as we celebrated a surprise 60th for my husband. The people at the restaurant were perfect; gave us time to chat & open presents, sort out our orders & provide plates etc for the birthday cake. They couldn’t do enough for us. I highly recommend this place as a celebration function

We had a meal for my parents 80th birthday & the restaurant gave excellent food & service ensuring we all ate at the same time. It made for a brilliant family get together of 25 people. We would recommend the establishment to anyone.

Visited today and cannot fault the restaurant in any way. It was spotless, the food was delicious and the service second to none. The staff made us all feel very welcome. We took a cake for our grandson's 1st birthday and the waiter brought it out singing Happy birthday, it was a very special evening

Me and my 2 young daughters visited tonight for dinner and the food was amazing as always and so was the service! I’ve been to this lovely restaurant lots of times sometimes in a big group sometimes smaller and it never ever disappoints!! Tonight my daughter got spaghetti Bolognese on her jacket and the waiter with the shaved head (sorry I never got names) noticed and bought over some white wine to clean it with and it worked! :) delicious garlic bread and breaded mozzarella. They do amazing king prawns! And the steak is so good!! One of my favourite restaurants ever!! All the staff are very welcoming and attentive :)

Decided at last minute to go to Trattoria Toscana, glad we did. Haven’t been here for a few years but it’s still good.

We per booked a table but each time we seem to get mixed in with parties rather than a separate table for 4.As on our precious visit the good service and nice food were spoiled by the noise from birthday parties and other revellers. Clearly the management are very happy with the situation as they have a full house of paying customers, so it is us who will have to vote with our feet.

There were four of us, we shared a starter per couple. They had spare ribs, we had caprese salad. For me it needed more than one basil leaf but even so I enjoyed it. My wife had seafood risotto and I had the house special pizza. We both enjoyed our main courses. I have had better but paid a fair bit more for that. Overall its a nice place and if we were in the area again I would return. It was reasonable as we visited on an evening when they had special process on pasta and pizza.

A group of friends went for a girly do for a friends birthday as we always have a great time & the food is fantastic. As usual these guys excelled, they decked our table as requested, service was fantastic, food amazing, drinks flowed & everything was great. I can highly reccomend the pancakes especially the seafood ones they are lush! All girls loved everything & even commented that they'd never had a bad meal here & we've been coming years. It's a lovely quaint restaurant with exceptional staff & food. We love it!

We last visited this restaurant a few years ago and really enjoyed it. We visited again tonight and not a lot has changed because we really enjoyed it again.

Haven't been for a couple of years but was still very impressed. Excellent Sambuca steaks, very nice seafood pasta dishes too.

We have not been here for a couple of years, we usually go to Vivo's for Italian but that was booked up so returned to TT, disappointed , not as good as I remember, my cannelloni was lacking meat and the sauce very runny and my wife's chicken dish was excessively covered in Chilli . Not a disaster but dissapointing

Such a shame that what is meant to be a traditional Italian local eatery has now decided to buy in their pizza bases... Gone are the days of watching the show kitchen fly those bases in the air.... Do they really think that we customers do not have a taste pallet nor can see the difference in how they used to be the second they are being presented at the table.... ?

Well it is always a warm welcome here. Food is superb. There are just a few niggles. The menu’s sticky and stained are a little dated and could do with a revamp. Gordon Ramsey would relish in making the place over but could not fault the quality of food delivered to its customers.

Visited with group of girlfriends, it was a cold night, we had to wait for our table, which wasn't a problem although the waiting area is small it was freezing...

Another fabulous meal at Trattoria this week. Penne Romana to die for. Highly recommended. Will be back again very soon.

I didn’t actually eat in this restaurant but I wanted to leave a review as the staff were very kind to me. A week after moving to the area, I missed the last bus home and none of the taxi numbers I had were working. I went into the restaurant to see if they could give me a number. The manager called me a taxi, poured me a coke, and then refused to let me pay for it. I will return soon for a meal. Thanks guys! X

Came here last April with a large group of friends for a hen party meal. The food was gorgeous, I had Tomato Garlic Bread and then Carbonara and for dessert Cheesecake. The service was amazing, the food was delicious. I loved it! I'm now 7 months pregnant and all I'm craving is Tomato Garlic Bread, luckily for me they do takeout so I am able to drive down and pick up my craving whenever I want it

Came for Christmas lunch and have already booked again for next year!!! The staff were very hospitable and the food was beautiful! Lovely range of choice and all well presented.

Lovely atmosphere, setting and excellent service in a really quaint restaurant. Quote simply the best Steak Diane I have ever had. A perfectly cooked steak with an incredibly tasty Diane sauce. Will definitely be returning soon.

Traditional Italian restaurant. The starter was very good , meat balls in a scrumptious tomato sauce. However the pizza I had was well below par for a Italian restaurant. It was the base that really let it down . It tasted like supermarket frozen pizza. I did complain and was told it was freshly prepared that morning. My partner enjoyed what she had so it wasn't all bad. Just don't have the pizza.

We visited here to take a visiting friend. We had starters and main, all ordering very different plates. The food was excellent, really tasty, full of flavour. The food is well priced for the quality. Quite a romantic and genuine italian feel to the place. Worth a visit and we will visit again.

To say we live a 5 minute walk from the Italian we go years between the visits...no idea why because it’s always amazing. A group of 7 of us went on a Friday night. We all had a starter and a main. Food came out at a nice pace and piping hot. The taste of the food was amazing and the smells while you’re sat there...delicious! Must try.

After all these yearsvghis is still by far THE BEST Italian restaurant for miles!! They do everything to accommodate you & make your evening special. Plus their food is second to none. They do their own dishes plus the usual faves. My personal fave is the seafood pancakes which are out of this world! All the ladies had a great night & were extremely glad to be back devouring their delights!! We WILL be back! They do a teatime bargain menu too. I even text My hubby while I was there to tell him he IS taking me back for a treat. BELISSIMO xxx

After reading a previous review I thought I'd let everyone know how delicious the steaks are that are served at Trattoria Toscana. The fillet and sirloin steaks are beautiful and cooked to perfection by a a very experienced chef. Having tried 90% of the steaks on offer and visited the restaurant regularly for the last 10 years I do feel in a position to highly recommend this italian.
