Every thing was delicious. Nicely cooked and beautifully decorated.

Really disappointed with this place. It used to be a good place to come for food and a great atmosphere, but it has gone down hill. Last three times I've gone they've been missing meals/ingredients etc. But honestly it is the service that is the problem. They brought food with two missing items and just said nothing. When we asked the waitress just stared and started laughing. She was young, but still, you want to be able to go to a cafe and enjoy your meal with nice service. Alas, more cafes are opening in Preston 👐

Great coffee but let down by pretty bad service this morning. Went in for a couple of drinks when there was only a couple of other people and ordered and then sat down. After this a LOT of people came in, but there was only one person serving - but after 10 mins I asked where our drinks were and was told they had to prioritise all the take out orders??!? So we were just bumped to the bottom I guess so they could get people out the shop? So eventually, 18 mins later we got our drinks, which were fantastic, just not enough to take away the sour taste this experience left. Would love to go back but you need to sort out how you dealing with lots of people - I personally would always try and serve people who had ordered in and not just put them behind the queue to clear out the place but 🤷‍♂️

The Townie Breakfast is the best breakfast I've had in a long time! Really nicely spiced and with a few extra twists on top of the usual english breakfast. Staff are very pleasant, and there is a modern and cosy seating area upstairs. Highly recommend!

Superb cafe. Wholesome and well cooked meals, snacks and drinks. Great value for money and staff are friendly and efficient. Books available to read and weekly copy of Socialist Worker. Handy for city centre and just 5 minutes walk from university. Highly recommended. Thanks Peter

A lovely place for a quick lunch break. Had a bretzel with bacon and scrambled eggs, with a rocket and cherry tomato salad – and a coffee to go after lunch.

What a fabulous coffee bar in the centre of Friargate - a mouthwatering menu; I chose Poached Eggs with smashed Avocado and grilled Tomatoes which was cooked to perfection. A perfect place for a quick bite at lunchtime 👍🏻

Excellent little place with good vegan choices, they were very welcoming to me and my little dog (for whom they brought out a bowl of water and dog biscuits - a lovely touch!), even though I arrived half and hour before closing. Will be returning very soon:)

I had a great time here, the food here is great and so are the drinks! I recommend the Soya hot Chocolate! The service here was 10/10 I had Maddy and she is absolutely amazing!!!

A GO TO FOR A WHILE I AM NOT ASHAMED TO ADMIT I HAVE STALKED THEIR SOCIALS Me and my mum decided to go for lunch out bringing my pup for his first time on a train , it was a v wet and windy day but got there in one piece The town house is a hidden gem in the city of Preston , served by the lovely Patrick and Ella that made us feel very welcome and needed shelter from miserable weather , Levi got extra fuss with water and treats We ordered and I got the planty brezel something I’ve wanted to try for so long and didn’t disappoint full of vegan goodness and packed with flavour paired with a hot water to warm up My mum opted for the towny full English and loved how it was presented I stole some of her homemade beans / mushroom and Levi may of got some sausage along with a fresh orange On leaving I couldn’t resist the cake counter and got the blueberry 🫐 banana 🍌 cake 🍰 Overall faultless decor , cosy vibes and great place for a catch up , coffee or all day brunch style menu , not forgetting the amazing staff , a great day out

Super cute little cafe! Brought my puppy here on his first adventure into Preston, and the staff were super accommodating, providing him with his own bowl of water whilst we ate. The food was also unbelievable.. The meaty bretzel was soooo tasty. Deffo recommend.

One of the best cafes in Preston. They do an amazing matcha latte. I had the biscoffee french toast off the new menu which was very good. I’ve also had an amazing vegan breakfast from there before. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Nice decor and atmosphere. They even have a book swap area!

Checked out this award winning coffee shop in Preston a week ago to sample their specialty breakfast/brunch options ~ We tried the following: 》Towny Breakfast | Pork sausages, bacon, garlic & thyme mushroom, roasted vine tomatoes, house-made bean salsa, wilted spinach, toasted sourdough and 2 eggs (poached) 》Salmon Eggs Benedict | Served on english muffins topped with smoked salmon, wilted spinach, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce 》Raspberry Heaven Smoothie | Raspberries, mango, apple and blueberries 》Flat White Both meals and drinks that we had were spot on. The full english and eggs benny were scrumptious with balanced flavours, we thoroughly enjoyed them. The quality of the coffee beans used in their flat white was superb and the refreshing smoothie definitely won me over - I highly recommend them. They have a seasonal menu and everything's ethically/locally sourced which is quite commendable. We had a fab time in this cosy café which is an ideal spot to study (only a stone's throw away from UCLan), meet up with friends or simply hang out with your loved ones.

Lovely food, coffee and staff! Each plate was like a piece of art and definitely tasted as it looked. Atmosphere was super chilled and staff were very attentive. Also dog friendly which is always a bonus. Thank you for being so welcoming!

myself and my partner went here for brunch and i would 100% return! we were pleasantly surprised and the choice of vegan dishes and everything sounded so good we had trouble choosing. we both ended up going for the bretzels (mine; the veggie and his; the planty) they were to die for, the portions are excellent and left us satisfied. the coffee is great and there was plenty of choice. the staff were so lovely and we loved the idea of the book swap, genius! overall i couldn’t fault this place at all, will definitely be returning!

Found this place on Google so went to have a look. From the outside it looked small but they have plenty of seating upstairs and it's a very relaxed and clean environment The staff had big smiles and were happy to help. We both had pancakes which were amazing and absolutely packed between each layer. All the food that came out looked fantastic so we will absolutely be going back ! - side note the coffee here was also great. Awesome spot and don't be put off by the road works, it's absolutely well worth a visit and you'll want to go back !! Thank you !

All loved our food, halloumi was perfect and the while a bit pricey, the food quality makes it worth it. Credit to them for working with the constant roadwork noise, can't wait until we can sit outside when it's all finished 🥐

The food was brilliant and filling. The fruit bowl was refreshing and the food presentation was brilliant. The service was warm and welcoming and the atmosphere is cosy and relaxed. There is also a range of books you can indulge in whilst waiting.

The breakfasts are superb and the drinks are good too. My favourite place. My favourite food is the poached eggs.

Hubby to be and I stumble upon this place after a bit of a Sunday stroll round town, and what a fabulous find it was. We were greeted with a warm friendly welcome and seated straight away at a lovely set table upstairs. The decor is light and modern with a nice clean finish. The staff were fantastic, super friendly and massively passionate about their jobs. I had ordered from the kids menu and had the little meat free breakfast. It comes with scrambled eggs but I swapped them out for poached, sweet potato and pepper sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, smashed avocado, toast and a hash brown. Poached eggs were perfect. Hubby to be had poached eggs with salmon and smashed avocado, he added bacon to his. Very generous portion and very much enjoyed. Everything was cooked well, served hot and very tasty. Finished off with a couple of smoothies..can't remember the name of his I had the berry burst and was blown away.. it was delicious and very refreshing. I ordered croissant and scrambled egg and expressly told staff I needed to leave for an appointment in 45 minutes. I was assured the food would be with me in good time. After waiting for over 40 minutes and twice asking for the food and being assured it was on its way, I had to leave without receiving the food. I was told I would receive a refund and as I had paid via zettle they didn’t need my card. Two days later I still have not received a refund. Unless you have a whole day doing nothing, money to throw away and you have the patience of a saint, do not go to this place under any circumstances.

Food was delicious (sweet and savoury) and tasted homemade. The curried soup and sourdough was excellent. We ate upstairs which was clean and tidy - good place to meet a friend for eats and chats.

Ok, so, I politely asked to have a double espresso (ristretto) and said the time of extraction to be around 15 seconds to which the guy responded “we don’t do that here”. Weird because I got a perfect double ristretto yesterday when a really nice girl worked and she understood this simpliest thing in the world (stopping the water extraction before it extends espresso longer). Upon explaining this simple procedure (hate to come across as spoiled or demanding), the guy still said “we don’t do that here” and was happy to see me out. I couldn’t believe this. I strongly recommend you informing yourself what ristretto is (shorter, more dense version of espresso) befofe you call yourself a “barista”. It’s embarrassing to consider yourself a specialty coffee place without knowing the basics. Ristretto: 15-20 ml. Espresso: 20-30 ml. Espresso lungo: >30 ml. Also, being rude at the end did not help. You are not for this type of job and sincerely hope you’re not the owner of this place!

A lovely, cosy, little café with lovely and helpful staff that are always about. Drinks were lovely with different milk choices and have a range of different food including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. There's also a little book swap area upstairs.

Nice coffee and hot chocolate in a pleasant small cafe

Arrived to a lovely welcome. As we had a little one and pram we sat downstairs. Lots of dishes to choose from. We enjoyed the pancakes which fluffy with lots of fruit, the smoothie bowl & croissant filled with scrambled egg & cheese. Love the different lattes too, the turmeric one was my favourite.

Their eggs Benedict are delicious. The eggs themselves were seasoned beautifully and the hollandaise sauce was light.

Lovely well kept coffe shop, with well mannered and relaxed team which are fantastic. I didn't order any food, though looking across at those who have, it looks delicious

Le café est très sympa, très joli et propre! les serveurs sont vraiment polis et accueillant! Le chai latte, cappuccino ice coffee et le acai strawberry était très bons ! un point négatif pour les gâteaux qui ne sont pas les meilleurs mais qui reste bon.

15 of us decended on this fantastic cafe for a pre business meeting. Bernice and her colleagues could not have been more hospitable. They had even opened specially for us. Food and drinks were sumptuous and set us up perfectly for a very challenging day. Thanks so much. We will be back

Lovely, cozy, relaxed, trandy and welcoming place... Strong and tasty Flat white and yummy flabjack! Loved how Barista Asta suggested on my drink based on my taste. She was very patient with me.. made the whole experience amazing! Definitely going in again.

Went in to try a new place for breakfast and found friendly staff, clean space and relaxing atmosphere. Family friendly too although there isn't a whole lot of space for pushchairs but enough for 2 at downstairstable. Food and coffee was excellent. Had the townie breakfast which had nice mix of thick bacon, sausages, vibe tomatoes, mixed beans mushrooms, sourdough toast all very tasty.

Townhouse is a great place to have a coffee with a friend, lunch with a colleague or even to celebrate your birthday. It's such a cosy and welcoming place. Staff is always friendly, patient and kind to customers and even their dogs. ;) The dog area is on the ground floor only, but it's still ok, as your doggy will be offered a free biscuit and a bowl of water, which is so nice. That's why you want to be coming there again and again, as they make each customer feel valued. Food, cakes and drinks are great and reflective of some modern trends in food. Vegan and GF options available. Update: A few points for improvement: (1) their menu hasn't changed in a long while and since vegan + gf options aren't many - you kind of have to rotate and have the same dish over and over again, which isn't exciting. (2) when sitting upstairs there is a draft and it gets really cold.

Outstanding. This is basically an Aussie coffee shop, I was delighted to find it and had been looking for one in Lancashire for a while. Someone involved here has been down under. Has things you would expect in Perth or Melbourne like: Proper flat whites, smashed Avo, eggs benny e.t.c. Was amazing to find this in Preston. They really care about the coffee. If you're used to Australian breakfast culture & looking for that good hit, this is the place.

This place was very different, the decor was unique and it gave of a calming vibe, it was peaceful, yet due to the character of the design it came across home like, which was not a bad thing, it in fact made me more comfortable. The only issue I had was the stairs that led to the second floor...they were extremely steep and a little difficult to get up them comfortably ,and it was hard to get condiments as these had ran out . Apart from the stairs the rest of the place was great!, especially as there was a book collection in the upstairs floor where you can read while drinking and eating. The prices were a tad expensive but the food quality was worth it! The full breakfast is something you must try as it was all cooked perfectly ,

Went this morning for the first time. Atmosphere is lovely, really good vibe as soon as you walk in. Service was great, both members of staff were super polite. Food was lovely with generous portions for the price.

Enjoyed the spiced apple tea. Along with a ham tomato, cheese and BBQ toasted baguette. Really nice.

Recently enjoyed a great brunch here. After finally deciding what to have, evrything on the menus sounded lovely and we'd been eyeing up other table too! Pancakes and French toast smelt amazing, bruschetta looked great. However we both settled for full brekkies. 1 meat the other a vegan one. Arrived beautifully presented, and all tasted delicious. Scrambled tofu and meat free sausages were seasoned to perfection and the sourdough toast was delicious. The meat was great quality and still came with lovely vine tomatoes and pot of tasty mixed beans! We both thoroughly enjoyed it. Coffee was really good, so absolutely recommend this place even if you're just fancing coffee and cake. Staff were super friendly and attentive. Even apologising for the Milk art in the coffee not looking like a tree, I said it made a great pineapple instead! Go try the place for yourself, lovely interior relaxed atmosphere. 😊 We'll be back next time we visit Preston. 👍

One of the best cafes in Preston by far! The staff are all so friendly and take so much care with the presentation of the food and keep the cafe so tidy... I could see myself in the side of the coffee machine it was so clean and shiny. The food is amazing and I highly recommend the cakes with a coffee and one of their many books upstairs 😊

Came here on Saturday 23 October - we were a party of five (three adults and two young children) and we could not have been made more welcome. The server immediately wiped down and cleared a table for us, nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely top class, fresh and delicious. Would recommend Town House to anyone.

Ignored by staff as I waited at the counter. A man came and stood in front and he was served before me. Couldn’t sit downstairs as two blokes sat there without drinks. Wrong size drink served after a VERY long wait. Drink was cold. One waitress doing everything another was the rudest I’ve ever come across. Won’t be going back

Saw on the website that they use origin roast coffee (one of best coffee roaster in country )and also Google serch said its best coffee in town but that was a disappointment. It was just warm milk and nothing else but customer service was spot on.
