First time and will definitely be returning had a table for 6 pm on Sunday evening it was packed , a good sign.staff are very attentive .had the meatballs to start excellent ! followed by stuffed chicken in a mushroom sauce . The menu is extensive with a varied selection of meat ,fish and pasta dishes and a good wine list try it you won't be disappointed

First ever visit to this lovely restaurant On Saturday evening with my wife as our daughter has just moved into the area we will definitely visit again when we are next down snd we have already recommended it to her student friends and families , it is a refreshing change these days to go to a true family run Italian restaurant with home made food I can see why it is so popular and often fully booked everything is spot on cant wait to visit again highly recommended

I thought restaurants like this had disappeared. A classic family run authentic Italian restaurant with great decor, ambience, staff & of course food. This was our first visit & we were stunned to see the restaurant full, except for the table reserved for us, whilst it was only 6pm on a Saturday evening. It was a friendly welcome at the door, then shown to our table where drinks orders were taken & the ‘specials of the day’ were described to us. There was no rush to serve up the various courses & we were asked if we were ready before the course was served. The first impression was how generous the operations were, which limited us to a starter & main course although we would have loved a dessert or cheese & biscuits, there was no room. The staff are friendly, amusing & attentive throughout our meal. The cost was not excessive and felt we had very good value for our money, so cannot now wait until our next visit, hopefully with friends & family next time.

Older waiter/manager rude and unwelcoming. Some of the other waiting staff stressy and abrupt. Didn't feel relaxed with the way they carried on. The female waiting staff were much better than the male waiting staff. Some of the food, including mine was good, some of the other guests food not well-presented and not that good. My partner had venison. Not a good flavour and tough. I expect all meals to be a great standard in a restaurant. That's your business and with something like this should be a passion. As paying customers we should expect a good standard of service and everything to be good quality, not to have sub-standard and rude attitude (from some of you). We are paying your wages. I don't go out and eat that often, so when I do its a shame that the evening is shadowed by this. I won't be going again. I have been to better places that are not so pricey but the all the food was delicious and the staff absolutely lovely. Not so here. By the way, you should get some proper hand paper towel for your dispenser in the bathroom because what was in there was like cheap toilet paper. Oh and don't overbook if you can't handle the numbers. I think your reputation will start to suffer.

Second visit this year and yet again Toscana was excellent. The restaurant has a real family feel and has a great warmth to it. Nice selection of cocktails and some brilliant specials on offer. The garlic bread with mozzarella to start is a must!

This is a fabulous restaurant for a really authentic Italian experience. Food quality is fantastic and portions are very generous! We went as a family of 5 and everyone was equally very impressed. This was our first visit and we will absolutely be back very soon! Thank you so much!

This is definitely one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to! The food was absolutely delicious and the seafood tasted really fresh- the presentation was gorgeous too! All of the staff were really attentive and welcoming- service is quick but we didn’t feel rushed at all- and the decorations were beautiful and authentic. The best part was the desserts, though- the choice was great and the lime cheesecake was fantastic. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the area!

Fabulous. No other word for it. I eat here regularly and the food is excellent, even when its very busy, as it often is. The staff are friendly and highly professional (even when faced with the rudest of customer). The staff deal patiently with my regular requests to change parts of different dishes and I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal here.

Now we have two King Charles Spaniels going out to eat had definitely reduced, but we do like to go to Toscana when we can With a penchant for tomato spaghetti, I was delighted to discover in 2012, their mouthwatering rendition. This most recent dish as always was a perfect balance of flavors, boasting a rich tomato sauce that coated each strand of pasta impeccably. The service was warm and inviting, with friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure a delightful dining experience. The restaurant's atmosphere is engaging, with a nice ambiance that enhanced the overall enjoyment of the meal. I highly recommend this Italian gem to anyone seeking exceptional food, outstanding service, and a captivating atmosphere

I visited Toscana with work colleagues last night and each and every one of us was blown away by our experience. First impressions were great, a classic authentic Italian, outstandingly clean with pristine table coverings. I agree with a previous reviewer who stated the cleanliness really stood out. I felt very comfortable and reassured eating there. Very few restaurants are like this nowadays. Actually on the note of cleanliness, I have to say toilets were as spotlessly clean as the main restaurant so I’ve no idea how anyone could judge them as being filthy. Everyone in our group loved the food which could not be faulted. Portion sizes were great and everything cooked to perfection. It was delicious. We ate from the party menu but I noted that there was an excellent choice of food on the standard menu too and the food being served from that menu looked equally as delicious as ours. I’m so glad I visited Toscana as I’ve been longing to find a local restaurant offering such high standards. In fact we stopped eating out locally as we were always disappointed with the offerings. At last I’ve found one! I will certainly be making a booking for next week with my husband. Well done to team Toscana.

This spot is great if you want to taste delicious food and feel comfortable with the whole experience. We have visited this restaurant a number times over the years and during lockdown we have enjoyed several takeaways. The portions are huge and the quality of the food is exceptional. They have a very large menu and we have never been disappointed with the food. We would definitely recommend this place.

Love this restaurant but due to covid doing takeaways. Had a takeaway Sunday lunch...beef and pork belly..simply the best. Plenty of meat, veg, roast potatoes and yummy gravy. Came here for dinner on a Saturday night just after restrictions had been lifted. We managed to book a table on the day which was good. We was seated with plenty of distance from other diners. The food was really nice, both starters and mains. The service was good and I would definitely return.

This is a small restaurant with loads of tables. We went Saturday thinking that they were be taking precautions for COVID and there would be less tables in there I was wrong , the table next to us was less than half a meter distance, people were crammed in and nearly all tables were occupied . A friendly welcome and a very vibrant atmosphere. Food good but portions a little large. I opted for the special main course, not asking the price, as most people wouldn’t, and was disappointed to find it was almost £10 more than the other dishes and at £25 for a standard fish dish was expensive.The service started well but tailed off so we gave up on a dessert.

Well, we walked out. After being shown to a table with less than a foot between us and the people next to us we spoke with the waiter and asked to be moved, he seemed to be be head waiter. We said we were not happy only to be told 'well we are busy and over booked' we said we would have to go and he said OK. On our way out we then passed a table of 8 celebrating a birthday !! We pointed this out to the same waiter to be told there was a gap in the tables, there wasn't!!Restaurant looked lovely but sorry, this is why the virus is spreading!!

Myself and my partner decided to book a table here as we had never been before. It did not disappoint! The food was very nice and great potions too (as we had read in previous reviews). The service was quick, friendly and welcoming. The prices were fair for the quality of the meals. Overall we had a wonderful experience.

My wife and I just visited Toscana for lunch for the first time and are very impressed. The set lunch menu was varied and interesting with the option of starter/ main, main/dessert or all three. The a la carte menu was also available. We both had crayfish salad starter with plaice in a caper sauce for my wife and a sliced steak and parmesan shavings dish for me to follow. The service was fast, polite and unobtrusive and the food was excellent both in quality and portion size with potatoes and veg included. We were too full too sample the desserts but those served to others looked delicious. Will certainly visit again (and again!).

6 of us visited on Saturday 22nd August and had yet another memorable meal at this fine restaurant The welcome is always friendly and the place is always full, vibrant and full of the sound of people having a marvellous timeWe had the Sardine special, mussels and goats cheese for starters - all were terrificFor main course two of us opted for the special Tomahawk steak and it was absolutely fantastic!It could have fed 4 people but was cooked to absolute perfection (medium/rare) and came with piping hot, crispy roast potatoes and veg that was crunchy and tastyThis really is a brilliant restaurant at and they treat everyone like a welcome member of the familyJust a smashing place to have a wonderful evening and tremendous foodIf you haven’t been you really should!

My wife and I had a very disappointing meal in Toscana last night. My wife ordered skate wing with capers and a side of fried courgettes. The skate wing arrived burnt along the edge with the capers shrivelled up and black, looking more like currants than capers. The courgettes on the other hand must have been in the fryer for only a few seconds because they were almost raw. We asked for the courgettes to be cooked some more, which they were. I had lasagne, which was so hot that it was almost uneatable.What is most surprising is that the food was brought to our table by the owner who must have noticed the condition of the fish and the courgettes but still put them on the table saying only "be careful, the plate is very hot".In the end, we only ate about half of the food and when we had finished we pointed out the condition of the fish and were not charged for it.We won't be rushing back.

Went almost monthly before lockdown and then had takeaway a couple of times. Has always been fantastic for both food and service.Was lovely to go in and have a sit down meal after so long. If you want exquisite and delicious Italian food, Toscana, Sidcup is the place to visit. My wife and I had take away meat balls and barbecue ribs for starters followed by Linguine with fresh water tiger prawns, paprika, cream brandy and chives and Tagliatelle with smoked salmon, fresh cream, chopped leek and fresh dill, The food was piping hot, delicious and the portions were generous. We can't wait to order this weekend as well.

Just eaten another wonderful dinner from Toscana. We’ve used Toscana for a few takeaways during the last three months and the food is not only great but plentiful (understatement). We can’t recommend enough. Even when restaurants can open again it would be brilliant if they continued to offer a takeaway service.

Ordered the skate and the chicken milanaise. Still piping hot when served up at home. As delicious as when we eat in this restaurant. Will be back for more next weekend.
