Tortilla in Watford

Reasonable food but no substitutions and manageress was very rude. Have been disappointed the past two times I have visited because of this issue. It’s a shame because we used to enjoy coming here.

Went to Watford Tortila this week. The member of staff was so helpful, my friend is very fussy about her food, the young woman was so friendly and patient. We think her name was Jasmine or Yasmine

Amazing burritos, can pick your fillings, watch them make it, really tasty, filling and very reasonably priced.

I've read various reviews about the food and no doubt it is nice. However, as a Muslim i felt cheated during my visit. Despite having a halal certificate prominently on display, i was offered pork as one of my fillings. Worse still is that the halal certificate doesn't actually say that the beef is not halal - in fact, on closer inspection, the certificate isn't even for this restaurant. Only when you look at the menu online do you realise that it is ONLY the chicken that is halal. I have no idea if the HMC Board is aware a certificate they have issued is being used in a restaurant that hasn't been inspected by them.

Great customer service and food. Come in here every so often and the service I get is miles ahead of a lot of other places in Watford. Even when very busy and dealing with tricky delivery drivers, it was clear to see the Staff handled it all well and ensured my food was made swiftly and correctly. Big shout out to Leon who was very polite! Definitely will be coming back more! :)

I have been going to Tortilla Watford for several years now, multiple times a week. However in the last couple of weeks the chicken has been swapped out from nice healthy grilled chicken breast to slimy pink and brown chicken, most likely to save pennies while charging £6-7 a burrito. I nearly threw up when eating this garbage. Can management let me know if you will be swapping back, if not I need not bother returning to this restaurant.

Always leaving out an item or 2 from last 5 orders terrible. Last 5 times we have ordered from the office they have missed one or another thing from it.

Just received the most awful online order from Tortilla Watford. We eat in there a lot and it’s always brilliant, it’s actually our favourite eatery in town. First online order and it was awful. Order not met, basically 2 burritos full off black beans. Tried ringing it no answer, over charged and quite frankly disgusting! Do not order online. Deliveroo where great, they didn’t make the food and it was warm on delivery but Tortilla obviously don’t care, out of sight out of mind!

The restaurant was very clean. The guy serving was very helpful and the team were friendly and welcoming. All the tables were clean too. Food was fresh and delicious and priced very well. Lunch or dinner great.

I went to Tortilla today to get a take out with 2 of my other friends. As soon as we stepped into the establishment we were greeted with the friendliest service. The guy (we didn’t get his name) was so lovely and cheerful and instantly made us laugh. We left with delicious food and big smiles on our face. Kindness goes a long way. We will definitely be back again.

I was looking for somewhere to grab lunch and had not been to Tortilla before but used to eat Burritos All the time in London.I ordered a large Vegan and all the trimmings. The staff were amazingly friendly and the quality of the food was top-notch. I will be sure to visit again!They even through in some free chips and spicy salsa!

I'm living in watford for a some years, this restaurant became a regular place to have food in/out the restaurant. The food is good, they have a nice team that made me feel welcome.They made the necessary security adjustments for covid times, but the kept the quality. If you are in Watford, and want to have food, I strong recommend you to visit them.

Popped in yesterday having visited previously to grab a burrito. Wow, what a gulf in service! 6 staff huddled around the til doing nothing and the staff not listening to the customers order. I ordered two nachos with beef and two bottles of water for £18, a massive price for really substandard amount of nachos without any cheese!The staff were not attentive and did not give us cutlery or even cleared the area and no COVID compliance! I won’t be returning at all, unclean, poor service and value for money was non-existent.

Always pop in here when I’m in the Harlequin shopping centre. It’s quick, easy and very tasty. No regrets!

I’ve been to Tortilla a few times as it’s the only quick Mexican food place near me and always enjoyed their food, especially the fresh mild salsa.I wanted to add this review as last few times I’ve had brilliant customer service from the whole team especially a young chap called Adam.Keep up the good work and I look forward to coming back each time!

If you like Subway, you'll be OK with Tortilla. It's the same set up, and the same quality of food (think of those all you can eat places, where it's quantity over quality, and the customers are not fussy), but with a Mexican twist. We had the veggie option, which meant we had a rubbery flavourless tortilla (a Central America flatbread) filled with beans and rice and salad. Sounds nice, but the resulting product wasn't really that good, and neither of us could finish our products. If you're not fussy about your food, and you like Subway style product, and you want the buzz of a Mexican twist, with the option of a beer with your product, then this is fine. But if you like good tasting food, then this is not likely to be the place for you. It's each to their own.

Great! Always good in there. They call crisis ‘chips’ which is annoying when you order a portion of chips with your tortilla and receive crisps, but it’s very tasty!They’re just down the end on on the upper shops (go left as you come out of the lifts).

We went there as a big group to celebrate a birthday occasion. The menu is not exhaustive but sufficient for quick food with customised taste options. Basically it had something for kids and adults. We adults normally eat authentic Asian food and kids prefer fast food; this place ticked the boxes for both the groups. The staff is young and good. Place is neat and clean.

As a mom of two I love cooking, but as a restaurant manager sometimes I like to visit places and simply eat “ready”. I was your customer because of delicious food, but I became your loyal fan because of your excellent customer service. I was with my family and friends. Our food was already on the table. My son’s food tasted so bland, so I asked a member of staff for a “not so spicy sauce” for my son. The person mentioned they had cholula sauce but did not explain what type of sauce it was and quickly went away. So I thought that she would provide us with a “not so spicy sauce”. My son waited for 15 minutes, the person just kept on walking past us, so i asked her again, where is the sauce? She said that cholula is spicy. I was pissed, and I told her that she should have explained it to us beforehand. She should have said that they did not have any “not so spicy sauce” at all; so my son would not have waited for such a long time. The member of staff did not even apologise and just left. No customer service skills, lack of interest, plain rude. No slight inkling of customer satisfaction. I noticed as well that a member of staff was handling bills and then handling food after without washing their hands, where is the sense of hygiene here? I loved it here! Good food and excellent pricing! They even had some different options to what i usually see in burrito restaurants, like the cucumber and pineapple salsa! What i was most excited about is that the GAUCAOMLE WAS FREE!!! They didn't charge extra for it which is brilliant! Excellent service, really friendly! I will recommend to everyone :)

Tortilla in Watford is one of my favourite places to eat-in for a variety of reasons. The food is great, the prices are good value, and the place is clean and tidy. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. They always explain the menu and different options clearly and take their time if something is misunderstood. The manager Anton has always been very courteous and generous to me, and I appreciate his custom greatly. He always has a smile on his face and enjoy having conversations with him whenever he is around. I have been eating in Tortilla Watford on a weekly basis for over 3 years and thanks to Anton and his staff I will continue to remain a loyal customer.

Quesadilla machine was not working. As I am a huge fan of quesadillas I was disappointed. I had to order a burrito which was nice, I was excited to enjoy it with a portion of chips (deep fried potatoes), however I was present with a cold bag of crisps.

As an alternative (and probably healthier choice) to other fast-food, I can recommend giving this place a go. Even though the food is clearly mass-produced for speed and consistency, you still get a filling and tasty meal.

Visited today with my husband and daughter. Husband’s steak was as tough as old boots and my daughter found a black hair in her meal !! We are both blonde and my husband has fine hair ( not black). When my daughter showed the meal to the assistant he gave her a free can of Diet Coke !!

I've been coming here for a while with no problems but everything was different this time, the staff clearly have no idea about hygiene or the point of gloves, food handlers touching money and rubbish then failing to change their gloves or wash their hands, it's disgusting

I tried Quasadila wraps and they were exceptional. All fresh ingredients make this dish so enjoyable. You won't regret.

This is my favourite restaurant on the high street, the atmosphere there is great and the change over is great, given my autism it’s nice to not be too crowded. The food is wonderful, the meat is always warm and fresh never left out on the line to get stale, it’s a fast food place that doesn’t make you feel like you’ve just had a fast food place it’s filling and healthy feeling, when you order extra chicken they double it which is great for someone as big as me. The other day my mother got me lunch there and the manager made the best burrito I’ve ever had the pepper and onion were cooked perfectly being consistent all the way through not being underdone or over done, the chicken was spread beautifully making sure one side wasn’t too hefty compared to the other and the sour cream was some how all over it which was wonderful. In short, this is the best restaurant on the high street and always my first choice.

I’ve had a few takeaways from here and they’ve always been tasty, however it puts me off reading some of the other reviews on hygiene. I have found on a couple of occasions that the opening times stated on the internet do not match the times the place is open which is very annoying. A couple of times when I’ve turned up it’s been closed. My daughter enjoys the food here and its nice and easy as she’s vegetarian but I’ll think twice now in view of the above points.

This is like a 'Subway' for Mexican food. I liked the very concise menu and the food tasted as good as it looked, with generous portions. Will happily go back on next shopping trip to Watford.

A bad start when visiting this. Staff leaning over the food they were preparing and their t-shirts touching the food. My beef looked like something out of tinned beef and gravy and it was served almost cold in my tacos. Staff leaving food prep areas wearing gloves then cleaning then returning to food prep area; some not wearing gloves but using tongs. One member of staff took out large tablet phone and went into food prep area. When handed our food on metal servers wrapped in tinfoil, the juice was leaking out and running onto the floor and table. 2 stars as the guacamole and salsa was lovely and the staff friendly but an upset stomach in the early hours of the morning will ensure I won't return. Overpriced for small portions and almost cold food.

I visited this restaurant during a quiet afternoon and ordered a Quesadilla. Whilst sitting eating it I noticed a gentleman who appeared to be the manager go outside the shop and smoke a cigarette. He then re-entered the restaurant, went back behind the counter and coughed all over the food in the serving dishes and did not wash his hands. Delightful and only added to the grubby feel of the place.

Good veggie bowl full of rice, beans, veg, guacamole, salsa and corn. Would go back for lunch. The server was also very friendly and welcoming.

First time trying a naked Buritto - it was so tasty. Loved the flavours and ease of ordering. However it was spoilt as it was so cold inside the restaurant. No browsing here, quick eat and out.

The staff also need to move away from rattling through the standard script as we might be more able to understand what they are saying rather than listening to the almost constant upselling - if I wanted that I could go to McDonalds - and they at least only ask one option. Visited on a whim whilst shopping, expected cinema type Nachos, how wrong we were. Absolutely delicious food. The guacamole and salsa taste lovely and fresh (exactly what the restaurant states), cheese sauce is nice and light- not stodgy like other places. The portion size is great value for money- we couldn't even finish it all so took some home. Chicken quisadela is nice and the chicken burrito. Will definitely be visiting again!

Well, you ask them about the guy who eat 3-4 days in a week - naked chicken burritos with Xtra chicken. I have tried burritos at another place but couldn't match tortilla's prep of burritos ingredients and hot sauce in specific . Best flavours from hot and salsa sauces, love fresh guacamole (not supermarket types). Can praise enough all the hard work done by Gurls and Boys there (with occasional days when salt is high), but it's alright. Highly recommend them....

Really impressed with the burritos here. They're fresh, flavoursome, really yummy and you get a good choice of fillings plus they're generous portions. Great value for money for a quick bite to each. The restaurant is comfortable for a fast food place and they serve alcohol. Staff are pleasant.

The portions are large and it is reasonably priced. It's basically a bargain of a filling lunch. Do note that I have been on the weekend and the service was good but on a weekday the service was poor and slow. They probably have the worst staff working at quieter times of the week.

The slow cooked beef burrito is to die for...I chose to have it with tomato rice, salsa, cheese, sour cream, onion and coriander, and that combo is my fave. But there's so much to choose from, it would easily cater for everyone's taste. Staff are lovely, and as a middle aged female who works away a lot, I don't feel uncomfortable eating there alone. I took a colleague there, once too, and he was also very impressed.

Visited Torrtia at lunch time for a quick bite to eat.The restaurant is well set out and welcoming.I had a Steak Wrap my wife had a Vegetarian Wrap, both were very good, but probably would plumb fit the stripped beef next time.The restaurant is on the outside edge of The Intu Shopping Centre so very accessible whilst out shopping and offers something different to what's on offer in the Shopping Outlet.Will visit again.

We have eaten here on many occasions have always felt restaurant is not kept as clean as it should be.Most of staff are very nice but 1 of the girls is rude and unhelpful actually walked out today and went elsewhere because of her attitude. Avoid being served by the blond dirk.

Staff not helpful and there were no tables to sit and eat so we had to wait for customers to leave, whilst our meal got ever colder. Eventually shared table with a family.Tacos were ok. Burrito was poor. Nothing like the real thing. And an absence of drinks.The only saving grace was that the meal didn't cost too much.Shame - right idea but didn't work in practice
