Torranyard Tandoori in East Ayrshire

5 of me & my family came for a takeaway last night food was good but the girls at the door were loudly whispering to each other that we better be all ordering together even tho we were ordering all separate & even though we came by car she asked us to sit at the benches when we said we had a car she told us she thought we’d came from the caravans behind where your based. Staff really shouldn’t make assumptions as its put us off coming back for food

Quality, service is very good let down by tiny portions. Not value for money and will not be returning again.

This was the best Indian restaurant I ever visited, I called ahead for a table as per COVID, only to be told social distancing was in place, when I arrived it was quite and was going well. 30 minutes later they were putting couples back to back and there was no social distancing, very disappointed, and won’t be back, there was plenty of room to social distance but the greed factor kicked in

This used to be the best indian around but we stopped going as things were getting worse.Although everything tasted lovely, the portions were tiny and nan was ripped to shreds again.Exactly the same as last time!The nan bread was the size of my hand, it used to be bigger than a dinner plate and the rice portions are tiny, there was only 3 pieces of veg pakora and 3 chicken pakora, it was mostly mushroom.You used to get great sized portions from here but not any more!We were all still hungry after eating it?Definitely not worth £30, we won't be ordering again any time soon.

I would say that this is a good place to eat the only downside is the fact that it’s out of the way, but worth a visit. The staff were very welcoming and hospitable, they made sure that we were looked after and content without being overbearing. The food was lovely although the only criticism I had was that their gauging of spice level is a bit off, so be careful if you don’t like spicy food! The only negative I had was the lager as I was sure that it tasted funny and although they tried to rectify, it just wasn’t right, but to be fair it wasn’t a major issue! All in all a good place for Indian food!

Ordered Saturday evening for pick up. No problem as we have been using The Torranyard for years and are loyal customers. A large order totalling over £52 for six of us. Hubby picked up brought home and most of the order was missing with portion size poor. Ordered extra two fried rice. Didn’t receive! Ordered extra 4 poppadoms which we didn’t receive. Extra curry sauce.....yip wasn’t received and a chicken tikka main with 5 pieces of chicken!!! Two spoonfuls of spicy onions for 6 and two pakora sauces!! So phones and eventually got through after 80 odd rings and spoke to Saffron(sure this was her name) who took my order! She was apologetic and spoke to management who said we can come and get the extra food that was missing so no offer of delivery (and at that would have been probably 2hrs waiting time) or a refund of the food not delivered as well as a discount the next time we are in! How did I know I would get this. To ask for Saffron or Happy the manager. No offer of any other refund for the inconvenience. So I asked for the refund and she said it would be credited in the next two hours! Well it’s now Monday and no sign of a refund! I’m so so disappointed with The Torranyard and will not be back now as the service was really poor and no real customer service! So 6 customers lost which could easily have been rectified if the promise had been followed through! Such a shame ☹️

Lovely meal. Restaurant was very busy but service was excellent. Staff are all very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Portion sizes were very good. First time here for a sit in meal and thought the restaurant was very nicely decorated. Liked that the tables were not too close together that you had to listen to someone else's conversation. Good value for money.

Love this restaurant !It doesn’t matter if its a sit in or takeaway meal, the food and service is always impecable.My favourite dish is the South Indian Garlic Chilli, I have tried the same dish from the likes of the Taj in Prestwick, and the Lawthorn Farm in Irvine, however their take on the dish just doesn’t come close to the Torranyard’s.I find it to be good value for money as well, their prices are slightly lower than other Indian restaurants in Ayrshire, however I feel the quality of food is far better than such alternatives.Would recommend to anyone looking for a good quality meal at a reasonable pricepoint!

Really enjoyed this restaurant, there was a party of 4 of us and the staff were so attentive and on the ball. The curry's were authentic and full of flavour and overall the meal was very enjoyable. Free poppadoms and spicy onions on arrival, always a good sign!:)

Excellant choice of food staff very helpful when choosing from the menu. Staff made eating out with children very pleasant they engaged and made sure the kids where happy.Perf3ctly cooked food and Excellant value for money .

Reading some reviews, some people are talking sh1t. I have been coming here since I was a boy, I have never had a bad meal. Portions are spot on. Staff are always happy and friendly. If you dont know what to have listen to the staff, they will recommend what they would eat. Dont eat at any other ayrshire indian. This place is always packed for a very good reason. It's the best in ayrshire.

In the ayrshire countryside on a winter night we were taken here as a treat. Even at 18.00 it was packed with only 3 staff to serve food and drinks. we had a drinks order taken immediately we sat down but it was 20 minutes before we had drinks and could order our meal. 30 minutes before our starters arrived and small cold portions. Over 45 minutes before the curries arrived and although good, they weren't hot despite the tealights used to heat the dishes. Even the superb kulfi dessert didn't make up for the pricey average meal. We won't be back.

Ordered a takaway from here which cost £40 and it wasnt worth the money!Portions are tiny compared to before, only small half boxes of rices when you used to get large bags and the naan bread was small again and ripped into streads, as if someone had ripped it open! And the pakora pieces were tiny like crumbs, we were all still hungry after eating it which isnt normal as it is usually very filling, this has happened the last 2 takeaways now and has put us off completely, disappointing as it used to be our favourite indian restaurant!

Visited Torranyard tonight for first time ever and OMG why have I not been before. By far the nicest indian I have ever had. Staff so so welcoming and friendly - attentive and cant ask enough of them.

We got a takeaway from here as we hadnt tried it for a while. The food tastied good but portions were definitely smaller than previously. Pakora and naan bread were tiny, hardly got any pakora? They normally give great sized portions, so hopefully this is just a mistake??

Love coming here, always order the sizzler when I sit in & nan bread is gorgeous. Never had a bad meal & staff are so lovely. First class service

Went with my Mum and my 6 month old baby last Sunday at 4 oclock. It was the first time we've ever been. The decor inside is beautiful and the place is spotlessly clean. Staff are very attentive, we were served very quickly and food was very quick to come out. Extremely fresh and piping hot. We had the table buffet and got chicken tikka masala, mushroom korma and vegetable chasni. Absolutely delicious. Great value for money. Cannot fault the service either, the staff were very welcoming and regularly kept my baby entertained. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back! Thanks!

Had a lovely meal pakora was delicious and curry was throughly enjoyable and to finish off chocolate fudge cake was lush

So we finally came in for a sit down meal, having used this restaurant as our indian takeaway of choice.

Visited here on Thursday evening with family and it did not disappoint. This is the best Indian food that I’ve had in years. The quality of the produce was excellent, as was the portion size, value for money, food temperature and service.

Especially love their table buffet. I had popodoms, pakora, and chicken chasni with rice. It was all very reasonable and good choices for the kids. It's nice to sit in or phone a delivery from.

What a lovely restaurant this is,our friends have a static caravan here and we had an overnight before going to Tenerife from Prestwick next morning so decided to have quiet night with a few drinks and nice meal.Restaurant was quite busy which is always a good sign and the lady in charge was very pleasant.She explained some of the chefs specials to us and told us how much rice and nan bread to order and also the strength of the curry sauces.I had the tandoori mix grill and it was more than enough,wife and friends all had different chefs specials and were all happy.Restaurant is wee bit out of the way but my friend told me that people come from quite a bit away and I don't blame them,marvellous.

This was our first visit to the restaurant although we have ordered takeaway from here before. For a wee place in the middle of nowhere it was astonishingly with the car park and access road full of vehicles. We tried the spicy mushrooms and butterfly king prawns to start, with chicken shashlik and chicken masaledar for our main courses - all really delicious and generous portions. Onion naan was delicious, we also ordered garlic chilli chips but they never arrived sadly - probs a good thing we were struggling to finish what we had! Fantastic value at less than £50 for 2 courses plus 4 drinks. Will defo be back!

Visited twice friendly staff nice and clean,food was amazing,really nice place would recommend worth a visit.

Visited earlier tonight for the first time, for dinner, very welcoming when we arrived complimentary spicy onions and pompadoms were lovely we shared a mixed tikka starter the lamb was amazing. Both had different curries which were so tasty then ice cream. Service was excellent would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Takeaway diabolical main meals barely warm, nan soggy, poppadoms soft , pakora soggy . This isn’t the first time but it will be the last !! Delivery service is a joke

A bit off the beaten path but it’s totally worth it, drove by here 100 times before deciding to visit, booked a table but still had to wait so it’s obviously very popular. Food was amazing and very authentic. Fresh and exciting, will be back for sure

We visited here last night sat 6th july along with at least 26/27 others what a fab place definitely a hidden treasure this was my first visit as it was for a few others within our group amazing service food staff in general. And prices are fantastic i would defo recommend and i will be returning again soon keep up the good work guys my mum had a fantastic night for her 50th birthday dinner

went to restaurant last night for a meal whilst on a weekend break at caravan pk next door. Looks are very deceiving from the outside very plain but when entering restaurant you’re met by a member of staff to greet you with a pleasant smiling face show to a seat and then offered the most pleasant service you could ask for,very attentive and wanting to make your dinning experience a good one.food great and plenty full , every member of staff ready to give anything you require. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

My mate had been going on about how good this place was for ages so decided to find out for myself (with said mate) Friendly service, good food, nice atmosphere - exactly what my mate had been saying! Would definitely return and recommend!

We'd been planning to go here for a while and eventually went on Easter Sunday. The staff were so friendly and attentive, the surroundings were lovely and we felt so relaxed after such a stressful week. We had the chicken biryani and the chef's special curry and they were delicious! So was the peshwari nan. Everything tasted so fresh and it was the best curries we'd had in a long time! We started with some haggis pakora which was good too.

Warm welcome ,helpful and friendly staff, who understood regional diffences in asian food,only to willing alter dishs to our taste ended up with a very nice meal ,all 3 courses ,and was surprised at the bill it was very good value Will be back

Went here for a meal with my cousin and her husband at their recommendation for an Indian Meal. They had previously eaten take-aways from here and said they were excellent.

Having enjoyed lots of carry out food from here, I decided when my cousin was visiting to sit in! Well, it was brilliant! Your food is freshly prepared and your main course is not prepared until your starters are finished! Best idea ever!! You have time to digest your starter before enjoying your main. So many times I have gone for an Indian meal elsewhere and been in and out in an hour! Loved this dining experience, time to chat, time to eat and drink in a leisurely manner. Lovely surroundings, lovely staff, and fabulous fresh food!! Shall definitely be back and very highly recommend!

Very disappointed I ordered a Bhoona, I put it in the bin, horrible tastless gravy, definitely not what I expected.

Visited the Torranyard Tandoori for the first time for our daughters 16th birthday.The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was superb. Nicest Indian restaurant we have been to for some time. Will definitely be back. Portions were large so we were asked if we wanted to take some home in takeaway boxes which we did. Great evening all round.

Happi and Raj simply are the best hosts. Nothing is too much trouble and the food is consistently excellent. Won't go anywhere else anymore after trying every Indian restaurant in the area. Tried Torranyard on a Tuesday evening in November. The restaurant wasn’t that busy but it was a Tuesday at 6pm after all. Staff were welcoming and helpful from start to finish. We ordered the table buffet for two which is aprox £14 per person. That includes popadoms, pakora, three curries, rice per person and a nann with tea/coffee or ice cream to finish.

Hands down, best Indian restaurant in the area. First visit despite living nearby for 14yrs and now planning to make it a regular venue. Food, price, atmosphere and friendliness of all the staff top notch. Well done and totally recommend.

New look, same superb food. This is by far the best Indian restaurant I have had the pleasure to eat in. Food great, service 10/10. The new modern look is clean fresh and welcoming.

We love the Torranyard visit regularly and not once had a bad meal. We celebrated my brother in law 50th birthday and the staff could not do anymore for us!! Made to feel special and welcomed!! Family meal at this venue at the weekend- our first visit and it won't be the last. Staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly and food service is perfect. From the minute you enter until you leave you won't be disappointed. The food is fresh, tasty and good prices. Atmosphere is good too. Despite being busy it is still relaxing, warm and welcoming. The venue is modern inside and is fresh and clean. You won't be disappointed if you try here. I like the location too - out in the country yet only minutes away from Irvine and Kilwinning. Can't wait to return soon.

One of my favourite places to eat and takeaway , visited recently with a friend , had the table buffet, just out of this world the curry's were amazing plenty to eat so much so we took a doggie bag home, new décor is really nice well done. Great service friendly staff , working there socks off as usual , high five keep up the good work.

This Indian Restaurant is somewhere that I have visited many times over the last 20+ years. The Owners and staff are always welcoming, service is always top notch. This is a hidden gem in Ayrshire. When I say hidden, I do mean hidden it is in the middle of nowhere but is always full, by word of mouth alone this has grown and I am sure it seats over 100.

Got a take away buffet and it was superb.Mixed pakora,chaat putt,lamb bhoona,chicken curry and chicken tikka chasni,rice and a naan all for £19!

Beautifully decorated, staff all very friendly and attentive. Spoken to by 'uncle' who explored our likes and suggested alternatives to our usual. Food was really tasty and all great value for money. Best Indian restaurant in the area by far, food is great, as is the service. Only let down is some of the clientèle, some loud and rude folk who shouldn't be allowed out in public, let alone in a restaurant, but that's no fault of the Torranyard. Highly recommend the Kerala chilli, it's immense.

Lovely restaurant within Ayrshire, the food was superb. The complimentary spiced onions and sauce with popadoms were lovely and set us up for a fantastic meal. King prawns were so soft and cooked to perfection. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. Great value for money! Would definitely return and recommend the restaurant to family and friends.

My dad loves his curries (he's 89), and had heard good reports about the Torranyard. He was not dissaponted, and the fact that he never spoke through his meal speaks volumes!. The food was fresh and tasty, and the staff were very helpful

If you have a car then this is the Indian restaurant to go to, I have been going to this restaurant since I was young and the food has always been 100% tasty and tidy. Great atmosphere for families and toilets are very clean and beautiful. My favourite restaurant in Ayrshire.

We had been before but paid a return visit when we heard it had had a complete makeover. A huge improvement to the layout and seating and a new menu. We were all very pleased with the meals we ordered and they came nice and hot in generous portions.Prices remained fairly reasonable and we will be back.

Torranyard is my go to Indian but after today that ends. I ordered food to be delivered today 20/6/18 as it is my sons birthday. Somehow everything tasted old or stale. It was as though the pakora had been re heated as it was chewy and the nan was hard and chewy. poppadoms were soggy. Looking else where in the future

All the staff are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble Excellent welcome and service The food was amazing and even the fussiest eater in our family thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Have been twice now and had carry out and standard of food and service is second to none five stars from our family

Ordered the takeaway buffet to be delivered. disappointingly the mixed pakora was soggy and appeared to be reheated. The butter masala was watery and tasteless. However the Lamb garam masala was lovely. Previously eaten here in the restaurant before and all food was great but will avoid the butter masala in future and deliveries.

First visit in years. All refurbished and it's clear the money had been spent, high end fittings etc. Visited as couples with young children. Excellent range of starters, friendly quick service. Good main courses and good cobra beer. My only gripe would be that rice portions are small and the peshwari naans could have more filling. Spot on in general.

The information reached us (eventually) that the Torranyard has had a refurbishment so we went to see it first hand as we usually just order take aways that are always great. The place has been transformed with a modern entrance off the car park and the internal decor is bright, fresh and welcoming. I did find the seating a bit of a squeeze though. The staff are still very attentive and thoughful - unusually so in a way that improves your next visit as well. The food is delicious - a little heavy on the colouring - but very tasty and in generous portions to the extent that many folk ask for a doggy bag.

A strange Tandoori house built from a very sweet, renovated country cottage. The inside of this this large restaurant was tastefully, modernlly designed and rebuilt. As the place was near empty, were were served with a taster almost immediately. We were a party of 3; 2 vegetarians and a carnivore. I can testify that both my Vegetable Balti and my partner's Paneer Curry were divine.

My self and my family have been going to this place for the past 10 years and it never fails to deliver. The food is quality, the waiting staff are so attentive and nothing is ever a hassle. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a good feed in a relaxing atmosphere. The place has been just been refurbished and looks amazing, although i did like the old feel of the place before it got done up. Keep up the good work. Will be back soon.

This was our 2nd visit and it was as good as the 1st visit my wife had the tandoori prawn and our son had caylonese Korma and I had the tandoori sizzle absolutely delicious good size meals we were full by the end and I'd certainly recommend to anyone but I'd make a reservation as it is a busy place and the staff are fantastic

Haven't been here for a number of years, and was told it had been refurbished. We were pleasantly surprised by the decor. Service was first class. When we went in, there were only a few tables occupied, but soon that changed. It appears to be very popular. It was no surprise to us that the food was excellent. The menu was varied, and very much open to children and adults alike. Would certainly recommend and return.

Visited on a mega busy night. Had to wait for a table which is good then ordered the food. When the starter arrives I questioned the chicken pakora as in the light it looked pink. This was the only part of our meal that we shared. The meal was good the service was good. Food was warm and tasty and the place is gorgeous inside

I'm an avid curry fan and can honestly say that this is the best curry house I've eaten in, hands down. Freshest tastiest curry I've ever eaten, and the staff were a great help with the wife selecting a suitable dish. Very reasonable and beautifully refurbished. Can't recommend enough other than to say I never leave reviews and have now left 3 within an hour of leaving. TOP CLASS.

Have been going here for years. Food always been amazing, and plenty of it. Restaurant was recently refurbished and looks great, which is a big plus as previously the interior decor was very dated, and would have put people off.

This was the first time we had been since it has been done up and it didn't disappoint. The food is first class as always but now the decor matches the quality of the food and the level of service given.

Looked forward to my Xmas dinner what a let down had a prawn platter to start with more lettuce than anything else and hardly any sauce on it poor then had the traditional Xmas dinner which was 2 turkey slices the veg was cold brussel sprouts where solid and the chppolatas where burnt then had the Xmas pudding very small portion which was ment to have brandy sauce on it instead it was custard think they should just stick to Indian food thought they struggled with the influx of customers will go back for there Indian food as this is excellent but they need to rethink there traditional Xmas menu yours very sorry Gordon Scott

Visited this week. My wife had chicken pakora whilst I had vegetable. Mains of Chicken Pasanda and Tandoori Chicken Tikka

I have visited here with my family on many occasions and not once have I been let down. The staff couldn’t be any nicer and are willing to do anything to make your meal more enjoyable. We always go for the table buffet which isn’t disappointing in the slightest. It has recently been renovated inside and has a whole new modern feel to it. So worth the visit, and their pakora is one of the best I’ve ever tried.

My wife and I went for the first time in a number of years,mainly due to having an excellent Indian restaurant within walking distance to ourselves. Having been told on several occasions to try this place again we were certainly not disappointed! The service was first class and the waiter “Uncle” and the staff were very professional whilst also being very friendly,and as for the food itself........superb and served with a very enthusiastic young man. Atmosphere was buzzing for a Friday early evening and the decor is very befitting of a boutique Indian restaurant. We shall most certainly return.

I have been going to the Torranyard for over 20 years with my wife and have never had a bad word to say about it

Booked a table for 6pm on a Saturday evening and had an excellent meal, as soon as we arrived a couple of pompadoms were immediately laid on the table, the food thereafter was very tasty and hot and will certainly return again very soon. just a suggestion, if you are looking to have a quiet meal i would recommend you dine after 7.30pm as prior to that there are quite a few children in the restaurant who at times can be quite noisy!

Oh dear, me and the family have frequented this establishment on many occasions for the past few years. We went two days ago. Yes, it has been done up but by god are we the customers paying by minimum portions. We waited a long time to get out meals and drinks. The table service is dire now. They defo need trained on table waiting. The gents toilets were disgusting. The urinals were not flushed and pubic hairs all over them. Considering we went not long after opening times I would expect them to be spotless.
