Toro Steakhouse in Kettering

Lovely meal. Great Service. Steak and Ribs were to die for but the chicken was average. We found that there was just far too much waste as the meat was so filling. Almost every table left the chips and salad. I would have preferred the "meat" to be cheaper and sold as individual and then people can order sides (Chips) to share.

Excellent food and service good value only problem too much food but all excellently cooked. Service was quick and friendly

Took the family for Tuesday Night Unlimited Ribs and we were not disappointed. The ribs were fabulous and served with chunky chips and salad. Two people ordered chicken fajitas and were equally impressed. The staff were friendly and efficient. We will be back!!!

Have just visited this restaurant for my partners birthday and have been completely disappointed with our experience. I booked a table for 12 people well over a month ago. We arrived at 7.45pm and we were not even acknowledged by a single member of staff. We had to ask for a drinks order at 8.30pm. I then had to go to the bar where 3 members of staff were polishing glasses to ask for a food order at 8.45pm. The waiter asked to take our starters order and then said I will put those on and then come back to take your mains order. Again we were forgotten about. Eventually are mains order was taken. Our food arrived at 9.30pm. Not once did we get an apology regarding being forgotten about. We were the last table in the restaurant at 10.15. We all wanted desserts but felt very uncomfortable by staff just standing watching us. When the waiter brought the bill over we asked for some discount on the bill as we did not get an apology or even a check back throughout the whole experience. Only to be told that it wasn’t possible. Eventually he said I will take £30 off the bill! Considering are bill was nearly £350 I thought this was disgusting. The waiter eventually said he realised he had taken to long for the order to be taken. We asked to speak to a manager and there wasn’t one and then asked to speak to an assistant manager and again there wasn’t one. So who actually was running the restaurant that evening?? Safe to say I will not be returning back to this restaurant and it ruined our evening for celebrating a birthday with close friends

Visited twice now, and both visits have been fantastic. Great food, and the service was good too. Really enjoyed my steak, and good value compared to some of my locals. The "garlic chips" were more like slices, but, I was there for the steak, and it was great. We couldn't eat all of my wife's ribs so took some home for the next day.

Excellent service and simply the best meat restaurant around this are. And if you are really hungry, try Rib Tuesday - all you can eat.

I was part of a table of 18 that visited Toro as part of the grooms party The night before a wedding. They dealt with the large table extremely well and no one was waiting a long time for their food from when the first member received theirs. The food was very nice and is deffinatley worth a re visit.

Service was good. Food was better than last time but still not enough variety of sauces to accompany a steak. Ribs were good but steak was average.

Cold dinner Expensive Very Noisy Large group in the upstairs room and we were sat here as well even though we had booked weeks previously and tables were free downstairs. The noise was disgraceful and staff did nothing about. Cold upstairs no heating on Shocking!

Fantastic food using really good quality meat. Great service with really friendly staff. This restaurant is really really good value for money. Will be going again for sure !!!!

Service was very slow not the usual friendly atmosphere , the room was so cold and had air con on blowing cold we asked to move as we were both freezing . we sat a while in the end i asked to order food was not as good as it usually is we both had steak with side dishes that were barely warm. We couldnt wait to leave after paying top price for a very dissapointed evening

This is the first time I have visited Toro and I have left feeling disappointed. I was given the incorrect sized steak from what I ordered and for the price you only get a tiny side salad on the plate and have to order chips etc. separately which is ridiculous. Especially comparing this with another part of the menu that has a steak trio that comes with chips and is less money. The food was very basic, the steak was cooked medium as I asked but did not have great flavour to be honest. Half the desserts were unavailable, the sundae was not a sundae just profiteroles on a plate with ice cream on top and our waitress could not even tell us what flavour the cheesecake of the week was. Overall the food wasn't bad but I can think of several restaurants that are not a 'steakhouse' where I would have had a better steak and chips etc. included.

It's a Saturday night and the Toro Restaurant was heaving. That was a good sign and having toured the world and reported in many a restaurant, I was excited to be here. First came the menu; the pricing was rather high considering the location and especially as the steak only come with a very small side salad and you have to pay extra for the normal basics such as chips. I ordered the larger Ribeye option medium rare, the Diana Sauce and Sweet Potato Fries. What came was a good sized steak, very under cooked and suspected of being a rump steak. It was tough to eat as opposed to that near melt in the mouth one would expect from a good steakhouse. The sweet potato fries where extremely thin and therefore over cooked and virtually flavourless and the Diana Sauce was far from restaurant quality. On an upbeat note, I had the ribs starter and they were very much on par. But the whole experience felt rushed and considering the rather costly prices, which for a good steak I was happy to pay, I certainly will not be taking my family or friends back here. I therefore do not recommend this place as I know what a steakhouse should be rather than feeling ripped off.

The food was a lovely quality although the portion sizes are varying. The mixed grill is huge which makes the Toro Trio look small in comparison. Previously we received olives while waiting for starters which didn't happen this time. Not an issue but missed this little touch. Would definitely visit again for a special occasion or treat.

This was the first night out out we have had in over 18 months and this was my wife and my 27th wedding anniversary with family Phone booking taken on 21sr May.Turned up on 29th May. No table available.Had to wait for table eventually seated at 20.0019.30 booking. Drinks order completely wrong sent back twice and the vodka ordered was definitely not Smirnoff as the bottle on display shown. Food order taken, only to find most items were now not available. Was told no ribs left so 3 of our party had to change what they ordered and then 10 minutes later a forth member had to change order Out of 6 orders only 4 meals turned up with none of the side orders that were ordered turned up at all still waiting 30 minutes after the 4 meals that Turned up  had to go down to speak with manager a told him 45 minutes later after complaining last 2 meals eventually arrived along with sides for other 4 meals but they had finished their meals Waste of time. Never going back. Only trying to offer 20% discount and apologized not good enough definitely don’t recommend this to anyone else

Once again enjoyed a great meal last night , ordered for 8 pm delivery arrived on time and hot , will be looking forward to our next meal in March to celebrate our anniversary. Great quality/ service and value

Booked a table at 19.45. Table not ready till 20.00. Had to get up from table and go to bar to order our drinks because nobody came. Terrible service. I had the mixed grill and the wife had steak. For desert i had cherry crumble. It was still frozen. Very average food and very poor service

A surreal Indian steak house but meat well cooked. Didn’t get my rump on the combo as the wife stole it in preference to her ribeye. However the ribeye and ribs were cooked perfectly. A tad expensive but a pleasant place for a quick meal.

We were sat upstairs on Monday evening, very little atmosphere and served by a mumbling gentleman, making it very difficult to hear him. Had to ask him to order, and when we did he said the kitchen was really busy, so he'd take our order in 15 minutes... umm no, take our order now please and if it's a wait for food that's fine but I'd rather the kitchen have our order? Relunctantly he took our order, food arrived within 15 minutes, was decent but definitely overpriced for what it was. Glad we went at the time of the government scheme.Staff in general were uninterested in customers, and clearly annoyed with eachother. Think, 'huffing', 'eyerolling' and blunt answers with eachother. All very entertaining to sit and watch.Our waiter was rude all the way down to taking the bill, where he snatched my card out of my hand to use the contactless.All very strange.

The food was great as always, been their many times. my only problem was finding out the poor staff that work really hard at these busy times, only receive a small percentage of the tips that are given to them by the customers. I give a tip based on how good and friendly the staff are. to find out that they dont receive them really upsets me. The restaurant should not be using tips to supplement the fact that the food is half price. and pay the workers the tips that they deserve. Pascal Cacault.

My first time coming here. Not a bad impression , the service is definitely rusty, food wise, the stake was a bit medium rare when we asked medium and the ribs and chicken not hot. But tasty overall. The check back could be better and a bit more attention on the customers. I’ll give it another try in the near future.

Food was of its normal high standard. Unfortunately service was severely lacking. I appreciate that we have had lock down and they may have been out of practice. I hope it improves and will go back because they do the best ribs and steaks for miles. Alas if poor service continues will have to consider other options.

Just had the takeaway service now on offer due to the restaurant being closed. What a great meal Ribs with chips And side salads + trio of steaks cooked to perfection will be ordering again very soon would recommend to anybody looking for a special takeaway in these covid 19 days . Excellent value.

Bearing in mind we are being advised to wash our hands regulary due to coronavirus this was very diappointing. Also hardly and toilet paper so by the end of the evening this had run out.Very busy evening and the service unfortunately reflected this. Had to ask to order after waiting half a hour and also had to ask for drinks.Food only ok.

Called in for a meal as was attending a venue in the area. Was only a couple of people in but soon filled up.Was hoping for a romantic meal but a family of 6 with 4 kids were put on table right next to us. Staff seemed not interested only in each other. The Bread served with the olives was hard. Steak was really nice but having to pay extra for chips seems a bit off. The garlic bread with cheese, well if you call a cheap baguette with bit cheese added on top, was hard. Deserts were very disappointing, although wasn't expensive, we've had better. Wouldn't say it was a bad place to eat but not great for the money.I'm afraid if we are in the area next time we will choose somewhere else to eat.

While the steak was ok and tasty the atmosphere in here was flat, it has the charisma of a motorway service station and the food presentation to match. Staff looked glazed and rather un interested. Bread and olives we were given to start had seen better days. If I wanted a cheap quick eat then this would be ok but I expected more I guess. Bang average experience as a whole.

We went for the unlimited ribs on a Tuesday night. First time we have been since the refurb in the summer of last year. I have to say it was disappointing this time round. The staff seem uninterested. Once we finished our food, we were sat waiting for a good 20-30 minutes before the staff acknowledged us. Ribs were a lot smaller than last time as well. Cut in to quarter racks instead of the half racks they used to give. 3 flavours last year now down to just the bog standard BBQ flavour. Disappointing this time. May go back may not.

Visited on Friday night. Very clean place. Open faced kitchen. Staff were attentive from the start. Fresh bread and butter served right away. Portions were large. Steak I had was cooked to perfection. Nicely seasoned. Chips were chunky. Well worth a visit

We visited this restaurant with friends as we had never been before and what we found was superb. The food was excellent and so was the service. As a vegetarian I was worried as they do not have a lot of vegetarian choices however, I wad very impressed with the vegetable fajitas I ate, they were extremely delicious.

Lovely choice of menu, the food was very good. Kids food was amazing. People on the table had the burgers, ribs, chicken and fajitas, so we tasted a varied selection. Not great On the allergy information. I had to ask a lot of questions before making safe choices. As many places chips cooked in a fryer with gluten based foods. But if that doesn’t matter then everything was great.

Came here in a group of five, three of whom had never been to the restaurant before. We had a selection of starters and everyone had steak (some combined with ribs) for mains. All steaks were cooked perfectly to personal requirements and the meat on the ribs just fell off the bone. Plenty of chips and side salad came with the food. Drinks are typical restaurant prices. Toro is definitely by far the best steakhouse around the Rothwell area and I highly recommend it.

A great restaurant for meat lovers. Good to have chicken options on the menu as well, very tasty food at reasonable prices. Fast service and great for large groups or couples. The decor is wonderful, highly recommended!

Took friends out for a steak and as ever the food was great and although it's not cheap, it is value for money when quality and quantity are taken into consideration... Only complaint was our last round of drinks never turned up but they weren't on the bill, so no harm done...

Never fails to impress, great steaks and great service, love this place, the fillet is amazing, great side dishes too, delicious pepper sauce. The desserts are great too - love the cherry crumble!

I came here for the first time last night for my partners birthday meal. There were 6 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered- steak, ribs, chicken, pasta. The portion sizes are plentiful and very good value for money. The staff are amazing and makes the experience feel much nicer. Would recommend to others and definitely return.

Excellent steaks, as always, the best in the area, in our opinion. On this visit two of our party also tried the ribs (one with a rump and one on the 'all you can eat Ribs Tuesday') and both said they were very good. One of us had beef fajitas, which were also lovely and one had a burger, which also got the thumbs up. We all agreed the chips were also very nice.

Wish could have gave better review came on the all you can eat ribs night and the 2 stars is for the ribs only they were good value for money and quantity was large the only problem was waiting so long for our order then when we asked for extra they didn't arrive until asking same gentlemen 2 more times sure would be amazing place if the customer service was to a better standard

The Service was polite and very friendly throughout our meal. All together we had the Toro Trio, chicken fajitas and the New York rump and all 5 of us were left extremely satisfied and happy with our whole experience. We visited Torro on Rib Night(Tuesday)with relatives visiting from Spain.Excellent value at £12.95 for all you can eat ribs.One plate full was enough for me as the portion was plentiful but some of my party “Went for it”.

Good food served by friendly guys can’t ask for much more. But they give a bit more in that they look after children as well. Not expensive either. Great place Will go back no doubt

Visited on strong recommendation and thought we were on for a treat when we were seated. Went for the trio of steak cooked rare however one was not cooked enough for rare and the other 2 were well done. The plate was taken away and the one under was cooked again with 2 new small steaks which looked like off-cuts. This was a disappointing experience and the staff seemed indifferent to my complaint and comments when asked if everything was ok. It seems like thwy get very good reviews and i was jist unlucky but as there was no attempt to put things right i will not be visiting again and would not recommend the Toro Steakhouse.

Tuesdays is Rib night: have been a few times now and every time they are cooked to perfection. Sooo tasty and the chips too...very reasonably priced and the service is always friendly.Their sauce is GF on the ribs and is lipsmackingly yummy

Visited here on New Year’s Eve and could not fault the food or service! It may seem pricey but the food is absolutely delicious and the portions are huge! Steak cut like butter and was just perfect. A decent slab of meat for myself and my partner (my rump was really long and his sirloin was so thick!). Service was great too!

great food, lovely decor, great atmosphere, reasonable prices and lovely staff! we have been here twice now and I would definitely recommend it. it is now one of our go to places for us as a couple and for family evenings out. only one lager on draft but they have other bottled drinks. either way, food is great so we don't care too much about the drink. fantastic place to go!! :)

Visited this gem of a place by accident and I must say it is fantastic. If you are a meat eater this is the place to visit. The cuts of meat were all cooked to perfection and as tender as can be. Chips are to die for and the salad is crisp and fresh. The Staff are very welcoming and attentive and really made our experience great. Value for money too can assure you you will not come out of there hungry ..... can’t wait to go again ... well done Torro xxxxx

We was recommended this restaurant so my boyfriend thought we would give it a try as it was my birthday. The steaks was amazing and the ribs was amazing. The staff are so helpful and was making our first experience there very special. I was also given some cheesecake with strawberries on the top and some ice cream free as it was my birthday. It was to die for. I feel the food, restaurant and service was above and beyond and I will be certainly passing this on to friends and family and cannot wait until my next visit there:-)

We went there for our son's 40th. and there where about 25 of us and none of us had to wait for our food, it was all delicious and hot, my son and his friends go there on a Tuesday as it is all you can eat ribs night and he loves it, so I think we will have to try it out. So yes we will be back.

I am a regular customer here, robs, steaks, chicken, gambas... all always excellent and the service. Well worth a try and you'll become a regular too.

Stayed nearby for our anniversary and ate here on our last night. Honestly the best steak were eaten in a long long time. Wish we lived nearer as the process were great, excellent value for money and we'd really like to come back. The extras were really well thought out too, super fresh creamy crunchy coleslaw and the best seasoned potato 'chips' (and i hate chips with a passion). Really interesting and tasty starters. Just perfect all the way through. Can't recommend enough.

My family and I decided to try this place after staying in a nearby hotel and we were all very impressed. The atmosphere inside of Toro was very friendly and welcoming, a great mix of buzzing customers and pleasant music.

Third time we have been in the Rothwell area so we booked a table again - and as always never disappointed.

Excellent service and great food. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal in this place. I would heartedly recommend it for a mid priced meal.

All you can eat rib night I failed at. Only managed the first rack of ribs. Food very good and tasty. And very filling. But I did have a couple of pints before. If you can eat loads of ribs then this is place for you. I will be back and I recommend this place. Service was good.

Found this place on Google and had a meal for 10 when we were working at Rockingham Raceway. Really friendly staff and good quality food. We had a couple of drinks, starters and mains for £30 per head. Thank you!

My wife (fussy eater) and I enjoyed one of the best meals we had in a long time at Toro. The steaks were cooked to perfection, to both of our tastes. The meat was juicy and tender. The ribs (the teeny tiny half rack of ribs - that couldnt fit on my plate) were succulent, beautifully cooked and the smoky BBQ glaze was gorgeous. Oh and the onion rings...WOW.

Visited Toro resteraunt for a family meal out with my two sons and their partner's.The resteraunt is lovely and clean and presented very well.we were greeted straight away and shown straight to our tables in fact I couldn't fault the service all night.our starters were all great .Main courses were all great with good portions our steaks were all cooked as we wanted them .There is a dessert menu but we were to fill to attempt any.the prices were not cheap but you get what you pay for...definitely we will return again soon .

Having been told how good this place was, we decided to try. We didn't have any starters so cannot comment. Mains were good, my steak was tasty but not amazing and side salad was meagre and disappointing, although other half did enjoy both his steak and ribs. Desserts were good too. Staff polite and friendly and not overbearing throughout the meal and never felt we had to rush. Would visit again.
