Tony Macaroni in North Ayrshire

Part of the Nardini Building on the front in Largs. Not much to distinguish the "Tony Macaroni" part from the rest of the building. We were shown a table and given two menus. The normal full menu. Also a Sunday special menu. Which offered fixed prices for 1,2 or 3 courses. The main menu was huge. I didn't pay much attention to it as I thought I'd have a look at the special menu first. It also had a large selection. My wife ordered a starter. I would have a bit of that. We both ordered a main. I was planning on having a dessert. I had an amazing milkshake and a cola, my wife had two glasses of wine. There was a compulsory 10% service charge. Drinks and starter were brought promptly. The starter was of good size and quality. Tasted very good. A slight delay between starter and main but nothing to complain about. When the mains came out. We ordered the second drink. My wife had ordered ribs. When the waitress left to get the drinks. She said to me I'm supposed to get chips and coleslaw. The waitress did seem to be aware of this when it was brought to her attention and she scurried off to sort it out. She came back quickly apologised and said some chips were being made and would be out shortly. The chips and coleslaw arrived soon after, obviously the kitchen had done what they could to get them out quickly. So quickly one or two of the chips were a wee bit undercooked. None of this spoiled our rather tasty lunch. The total bill was just under £50 including the compulsory tip. Not cheap, however, probably the normal nowadays.

Food was simple and tasty. However the service was very very poor. Was very slow. Missing coffee and even when I asked a second time we still never received. When I asked for it to be removed from the bill I got a half mumbled apology. Really poor service and I won't be back as a result.

Food was lovely, decent portions and varied menu. Very nice and attentive staff, I would recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Largs.

The staff here are so lovely and accommodating, the food and ice cream are everything you want them to be whilst at the sea side and the decor is art deco tastic...but ...you wait ages to be acknowledged when you arrive (left standing on the draughty stairs), it takes ages to order drinks once seated, and it's soooooo cold!!!! (despite wrapping myself in a few jackets). The cleaning spray used on the empty tables whilst you're eating catches your throat-we were all coughing. These criticisms as easy to fix-we will definitely be back-but we hope some changes will have been made...

I like this place, I really do. The food is good, reasonably priced. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff are very friendly. Recommended.

Rating five star for delivery service and food service. A bit over priced, but if you order it you’re wanting food made for you. Calamari rings are lovely and ice cream is lovely.

Dreadful - worse than faulty towers !

Part of Nardini. The staff and food are lovely a place we visit when we go to largs.

Food was delicious and portion sizes huge! However the service just wasnt up to par. Very slow at taking orders, didn't check in the with table. We got the bill and no one came back for payment 20mins later we stood up got our jackets on and still we were not approached for payment eventually we managed to find someone. First time at the Tony Macs and probably the last. Dunfermline Tony Macs for the win.

Late night meeting we ordered mixed olives with olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing, garlic bread, lasagne, spaghetti carbonara and chips on the side. Was delicious would highly recommend, the coffees were fab too! Staff amazing extremely friendly and helpful. As we both had laptops they couldn't have been more helpful with plugs and sockets access.

Food was above average, like the vast majority of restaurants today, the staff were very young, but did a good job..

Antipasti Caldi delivered without sauces. No pouring cream with sticky toffee pudding. Chips cold and undercooked.

The service was great, but the food was over-priced. As if the prices for their food isn't high enough, they scam you into tipping by including an "optional" service charge in your bill. You'll pay the service charge unless you tell them you want to opt out and that makes you seem mean so you just pay it. I would never eat here again, total rip off. It's expensive enough eating out without gratuity scams!

Ordered a takeout online. More expensive than average takeout but this one is restaurant quality and taste so worth the money. The spaghetti carbonara in particular was excellent and delicious and a very generous portion.

The quality of the customer service they provide deserves a loud round of applause . What they did to make this 100th birthday celebration for Eva, made it so special n memorable . The balloons and cake!! What a wonderful celebration for Eva !! The staff at Toni Mac are a very dedicated team that will go the extra mile to meet you and your families needs. It was truly an awesome experience. Food was So delicious!! Everything was excellent!! Everyone was happy !! No one is happier than Eva who turned 100 !! What a grand celebration!! You all went far and beyond to make this birthday event so special for Eva!!

The service was good as ever and plenty food well cooked and presented. Always enjoyable in Tony Macaroni restaurants. Always leave happy and full.

Myself and my husband where on holiday staying in weymess bay for a few days took a drive through to the restaurant food was delicious service was excellent only thing i would say is the restaurant NEEDS A SiGN outside to let customers know its tony macaroni

So disappointed to find Nardinis was now Tony Macaronis. Ice cream still good.

Place is great, relaxed atmosphere with fabulous staff who are very well versed on everything on the menus and are more than happy to accommodate you with small changes. Took my wife here on our time away and it was an amazing night. I very much highly recommend visiting here many many times we will be.

Really nice food. Got the wrong toppings on my pizza after saying it 3 times to the waitress.

Not a nice greeting when we went in the person was struggling to find our booking. Bit of a mix up with food as garlic bread was delayed and I had to ask for it twice and wait and wait.... Food was nice enough and great value as half price shame about the mix up. Next time we will ask for a table away from the door as a bit chilly. Note to servers clean the tables but also look under as there was food dropped on the floor. Might give it another bash but being in Largs there is so much choice

Great food. Poor boy who's new made a wee mistake with the starters but was so apologetic. Didn't ruin our experience. We felt sorry for him. We all learn from our mistakes👍

I was hesitant to go here as I thought of it as just another chain. My expectations were low, they will not be next visit. We took the pronto menu so can't comment on portion size, but 2 courses for £13 was great value. The food was excellent, everyone at the table enjoyed their meals. The kids meal was large and served first to give the little one a head start on her food. We will be back.

I have visited 5 times since I signed up to loyalty points scheme and still not a single point has been added. There is no contact details on website for help. Not even 200 points when I joined up?

Food and service 5*. Only issue was the heating seemed to be off or on very low. It was cold

Great find, great service abd very reasonably priced. Only discord we experienced, was trying to locate the venue. No Tony Macaroni sign anywhere and we went around in circles. Nearby Chippy staff signposted us to the side buildings of Nardinis and advised it was a common occurrence. Even a small sign on the door alone would have assisted us to arrive on time as parking was not an issue. Overall we would definitely return. 👍

Poor, poor service. Had to keep calling to them for attention. Two and a half hours for pasta and ice cream. Staff training required.

2 adults 2 kids Fantastic!, lovely and clean&nice service , tho had to ask few times for remainder of order as was getting busy&short staffed. Recommend!!

Wasn't happy with my starter should have said sothing could not taste any garlic. For mains pizza ask for ham on it with peperoni an came out with no ham was not pleased at all.

Presto menu. 2 adults 2 kids. Pizzas were delicious. Family fed for under 35 quid. Friendly staff. All round enjoyable meal.

Good menu choice reasonably priced

Nice to have vegan pizza but could have done with a lot less cheese as it made the pizza quite sickly. Also more vegetarian options needed and cut the grapes for the kids fruit salad (chocking hazard!)

Best Italian restaurant in Scotland.

The most beautiful place with wonderful staff and food. The pastry was light and delightful. I love the building and interior. If you are in or near Largs , get here. ❤️

Amazing food, spotless, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff that ensured that our dining experience was a great one! We have tried many of the restaurants that Largs has to offer during our holiday; but Tony Macaroni won hands down! It was so refreshing to eat in a restaurant with amazing service to match the incredible food! The manageress went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Thank-you!

Rubbish...2 starters arrived (which were mediocre at best) then nothing...and I mean nothing...we waited 45 mins for our mains which included 3 kids meals...no sign of anything. We asked for an update and the guy wandered off and walked back past our table and told us nothing. We naturally complained and asked to speak to the manager. We received an apology but could still not be told when our food would arrive...so we left. Avoid.

AVOID! Such a pity that this venue not only has a limited menu but it's vastly overpriced with poor quality food. Bread and baguettes not fresh, cold chips as a side and little variety. It's a prime seafront location, but unless you just want an Ice Cream, then just go to the hotel next door for a far superior choice, with great food choices. The once famous Nardini's is a poor shadow of its former self!

Shocking behaviour of a manager. My girlfriend whom is exempt got questioned on why she was not wearing a mask and got ridiculed for her condition. She ended up crying and staff did not care, not going back. Astonished .

The service and food were spot on, they are always consistently excellent

I was eating there yesterday, had penne pomodoro which was mixed with spaghetti and othere kind of pasta they add some small amounts of chicken. I just hope all this wasn't a rest of food from someone else plates. I made I complain they offered new dish which I don't want, never know what else can be added after complain. I paid full price. On the way back to home 1 hour later start to be sick, vomiting couple times. I was a regular client in tonny macaroni in Glasgow but after visiting Largs branch, never again, thanks.

The staff are lovely, but the food.....too much and not great quality. Mac & cheese lovely, lasagne not great quality, chicken milanese too much looked deep fried.

Came twice over our two day stay and loved it. Service was excellent on both occasions with friendly and very attentive staff. Due to Covid, you do need to book but this is a simple phone call and on our first visit we did so from just outside the restaurant and were seated in under five minutes. Restaurant was clean, well organised and bright. Food was excellent from both children's and full menu. Seafood dishes were very good. Lovely wine list. Overall a very easy five stars.

The food is awesome. Old art deco seaside restaurant and superb Italian food and gelato.
