Tony Macaroni in North Down

Honestly an overall poor experience. Had a table booked for 12pm, arrived 5 minutes early to be told by a young rude man to leave and come back in 10 minutes. After returning, taken to a table and had to wait over 20 minutes before drinks being brought to the table, which we then had to tell the boy we would like to order food. We were a party of 5 (3 children) and only 3 main courses came to the table with 2 of the children’s meals coming 5 minutes after. Mozzarella sticks were barely warm, chips were obviously bought in frozen, and the food itself was average. We weren’t checked during the meal, nor asked after if we enjoyed the food. The food I could live with, but the service was just so so poor. Unfortunately won’t be back.

Took the kids during half term. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. The service was fantastic, everyone was friendly and helpful and went out if their way to make sure we had an enjoyable experience. Will def be back!

Went here for a Friday night tea and loved it. The food was excellent and I had penne pesto pasta with chicken and hubby had chicken and chilli pizza and both were fab. The staff were amazing and young Suzanne and Hannah the bar Manager were fabulous and so friendly. Had a great wee night and will be back.

I took my 12 year old daughter last night for a treat and it turned out to be anything but that. We ordered two meals and were happily chatting. After a while my meal came out and we waited for my daughters to be delivered. I signaled our waiter that we were waiting and he went off to look for it. 10 minutes later I went up myself and they hadn't even started it. They sent it out after 5 minutes and I had to ask to get my meal reheated. My daughter took a bite and immediately knew it wasn't right. She had been given pasta with beef and she is a Hindu. She burst into tears and I had to go sort it out again. At every stage I was made to feel like a nuisance and no apology ever came. Never again

I was so disappointed with my last visit here. As soon as my partner and I walked through the door, staff looked at us but carried on cleaning tables and avoiding us, immediately making us feel unwelcome. Once finally seated, we waited 10 minutes before getting a drinks order - that we had to ask for. We also waited too long for our food order to be taken and had to ask for that to be taken as well. Our starters came out with our mains, which we did not ask for. My partners pasta was undercooked. Not once did a waitress / waiter ask if the meal was OK. We sat with our empty plates infront of us for too long before getting up to pay. It felt like we were forgotten about. We told the waitress we were unhappy with the service as she smirked and got the person in charge who just took a % off our bill and didn't interact and ask what was wrong. Overall an extremely poor experience. Perhaps down to inexperienced staff however this is not an excuse.

The food was very poor quality and the staff looked like they didn't know what to do . This was probably because they obviously have been trained .

This was my Grandsons choice to celebrate his 9th birthday. The restaurant has only reopened recently and unfortunately it appears that the staff are fairly new. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the menu is comprehensive. It was fairly busy so didn't mind waiting a little while before we ordered drinks about 2 minutes later another waiter asked if we would like a drink but we ecplained we had already ordered them. We placed our meal orders about twenty minutes after arriving, two minutes later another waitress asked if we were ready to order. When the food arrived two of the orders were wrong and my three year old daughters childrens pizza was the same size as mine which was a bit of a waste. Bit of a shambles really but couldn't help feeling sorry for the staff as they were clearly out of their depth and need a bit more training.

Tony's opened again on a Tuesday, after being closed for whatever reason, for many months. We decided to leave it a few days, and go on the Saturday, hoping any small problems would be ironed out. The restaurant was maybe less than half full when we arrived, so a good start seeing people back there. Unfortunately the waiting staff all looked like it was their first job doing so. They were all young, so i dont blame them, but proper staff training would have been handy. Once seated and given menus, nobody came near us, so after 25minutes, and finally catching the sight of a young girl, we asked could we please order some food and drinks. The drinks came promptly. As we were waiting, a waitress asked if we would like anything else... answering that we hadnt actually eaten yet. I would say after a 30minute wait from ordering, we asked if there was any sign of our food. The waitress checked and said its coming next. Within five minutes it had arrived. So a full hour after arriving, we finally got our food. Not great when you have a hungry 5 year old waiting for pizza. Our table said the food was decent. Not exactly out of this world. The garlic chips came on a plate with about 15 chips on it. Same with the cajun chips. My own pasta dish was a bit bland. Plenty of pepper helped the taste. We used to love this place, but if its going to stay open, it'll need to improve vastly! I'll not rush back for a while though...

Dreadful stuff. Have avoided it like the plague since it opened as it’s situated on the site of doom where nothing has done well that came before it. I don’t know how it’s managed to last as long as it has. There are offers on posters everywhere in a futile attempt to lure customers in. The kitchen and its chefs (I use the word Chef lightly here) are dripping in inexperience and it shows on the plate. The one saving grace was the girl who looked after us at her table who was lovely. As for that? Avoid like the plague. Dreadful stuff.

Stopped here for tea with my wife and wish I had not, the staff are inexperienced and slow , it was the worst burger I have had for a long time

Glad it has reopened Beautiful meal as always. We had the pizzas, lasagne and a selection of ice cream sundaes, all were delicious . The staff were all very friendly and attentive

Have mixed feelings about this place, went a couple of times before and didn’t think much of it then before it closed I had a good meal and my son loved the pizza. Been waiting for it to reopen but should have held out because some of the worse service was on display. Place wasn’t overly busy but had to wait 30 min for starter and 1hr for the main course. Asked for child’s desert to be served when we had our mains but didn’t arrive till after we finished. Felt sorry for other customers they served parents desert and didn’t serve kids till the parents had finished there’s and had to chase the staff down to see were the kids desert was.

After many trips to Bloomfield Shopping Centre with my wife and saying "lets try there sometime", tonight we did....and it was awful to say the least. We where starving ordered and ordered Antipasti Caldi to share as a starter. When it came some of it was at best tepid, the rest was cold. After eating a lukewarm chicken wing and a cold mozzarella stick I called the waiter over to get him to take it away. I told him it was cold and showed him by sticking my finger in the cold mozzarella stick, he did the same and agreed it was cold. Very apologetic - not his fault. Offered us another, we declined. Thankfully it was removed from the bill. The restaurant was not in anyway busy, so there really is no excuse. I had ordered lasagne for main, the waitress came back to tell me they didn't have any.....an Italian restaurant with no lasagne...really?! So I ordered linguine di anna. My wife ordered penne cotadina. The actual pasta and sauce in each dish was hot ok, there was too much of it though! My wifes was overpowered with garlic (and she loves garlic) mine was at best average. It was to have chicken and chorizo in it which is my favourite combo. It did have it, but not fresh chicken breast strips as you would get in a nice Italian, it was diced chicken cubes like you would get in a kebab shop that does pizzas. The meal was simply not good. We dine out regularly and I have never sent food back, tonight was a first. Honestly felt like Gordon Ramsey in an episode of Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares. It was sooooo poor and sent so much of it back. Looking at other reviews, I can only imagine that they have got a new chef after opening from lockdowns. However, I can't see it staying open for much longer. Truthfully one of the worst meals we have ever had. I would advise you to avoid. I've got a toilet roll in the fridge incase the cold chicken wing doesn't play out well.

We went here about 5 years ago and had a poor meal but decided on giving it a second chance in the hope things had improved. We got seated at a table for 2 which was very small, they weren't busy at all so they should have used their availability and seated us at a more comfortable table. We went for the Sunday deal where you get a starter and main for £11.95 which we thought was a great price, the starter was nice and presentation of the starter was fairly good so we assumed our main meal would be even better.. unfortunately it was horrible in every way imaginable, I had the burger which was dripping with grease which in turn left the bap sloppy and the chips were scattered on the plate (I'm sure they were just frozen chips) I requested garlic chips which I assumed would come with a seperate garlic mayonnaise dip but it was just some sort of oil or butter poured over them, there was no side salad and the presentation was honestly the worst I've EVER came across.. ( maybe if you're getting the Sunday deal they don't care as much about presentation or flavour because it's cheaper!?) To be honest, a chip shop meal would have looked and tasted better! My husbands dinner was even worse as he had the chicken burger that was dry and coated in some battered crumbs?! This restaurant does not serve fresh food and appears to me that the food is Iikely bought in Iceland, fried and then served.. its no wonder the restaurant isn't particularly busy, the chef needs to really work on presentation of food and flavours.. my husband and I would eat at blue Chicago every Saturday and decided on a change this weekend but we were massively disappointed if even a little shocked too. We didn't eat the food at all, 3 chips and a quarter of a burger and we were done. The ONLY reason we didn't complain was because the staff who served us were amazing, that's the only thing this restaurant has going for them is the table staff who served us. The food is basic at best, we won't be returning for those reasons! We were charged £35 and instantly regretted not sticking to the same restaurant over the road which costs the same except the quality and presentation is 10/10. Its the type of dinner I'd have thrown together for my kids on a day I just couldn't be bothered to make any effort to cook.
