Lovely place, lovely food, lovely people!

Food wasn't bad, nice size portions and reasonably priced too. On the downside was the waiting time for our takeaway. No one else was in the shop as I ordered our chicken and chips. It was almost 20 minutes before I got the food - in that time, a number of other customers came in, ordered their food, had it freshly cooked and left before I got ours. Yes, I know it was cooked fresh, was hot etc but too long a wait in my opinion - the server did apologise for the time it took. This has put me off using Tommy Tucker's for a takeaway in the future.

Lovely place to get fish and chips! After moving to the area I was on the lookout for the best fish and chips, and Tommy Tucker's has come out on top. They do the best fish and chips around, the staff are always friendly and the portion sizes are great. The food is always freshly cooked and hot. I look forward to my next meal here and recommend to others 😊

Popped here to get Chicken Donner meat and chips and Lamb Donner meat and chips. We purchased medium ones and they were enormous!

I have been coming to Tommy Tuckers for over ten years and they have ALWAYS been absolutely brilliant. Fantastic food, fair prices and fantastic staff. Would recommend to anyone living in Witham or just visiting.

Excellent service. We ordered nearly 50 fish suppers for our Church quiz night. Food was ready for collection, on time and hot for our guests to enjoy back at the hall Everyone enjoyed the food and made the Quiz night a success. Will do more quiz nights and always use Tommy Tucker for the supper

Ordered online at 5.15ish with a collection time of 6pm. Arrived on time to be told “give me 5 minutes” I had to wait a further 20 mins for my mixed kebab. So 25 minutes late. Food was ok not that hot. What’s the point in giving a collection time if you can’t meet it. & this is the second time this has happened

Do not waste your money. Badly cooked food, definitely not worth the money. Cheesy chips tasted really weird. Also chips were dry and withered. Food was over cooked

Had a couple of decent kebabs over the last year but last one we ordered the meat was ok but the salad was vile the whole walk home we noticed the stench from it, couldn’t even bring ourselves to try it as the smell was so awful. The customer service to start was off but we just thought maybe a busy day and took no notice. Since this I wouldn’t ever return sadly, tried a few other around Witham I’m very happy with.

I don't appreciate having last night's doner meat heated up on the hot plate and served in my kebab !

I live in Australia and miss British chip shops like you wouldn’t believe - this place was so so good. Perfect chips, lovely fish and the guys in there clearly all have good hearts. Good food is worth waiting for ❤️💙🤍 🇬🇧 🐠

Bought two lamb shish kebabs at a total of £27. The meat was so tough it was hard to chew and we ended up throwing half of it away. First time I'd been here in years, certainly won't be going back though.

I wish I could post this with a zero star rating! Popped in to get some dinner on the way home. Asked the guy to check the ingredients of the sausages as my daughter has some food allergies. He just said it had the allergens in, didn't look. Asked him again to check the packet and was told that they didn't want to serve people with allergies! He continued to wrap up the other food I had ordered. Needless to say I told him to keep it! I'll take my money elsewhere thanks. It is actually law now that all good places have to display allergen lists. So you better get this sorted out or you'll be finding yourselves shut down in no time. Can't believe people pure laziness and can't be bothered attitude. So rude.

Whilst visiting friends in the area, I called in here on a Friday evening to get a cod and chips takeaway for myself and partner. We received a warm and genuine welcome from the staff and our food was cooked fresh to order and it was delicious. The flaky fish had a lovely crispy golden batter and the chips were chunky and tasty. Will visit again, when next in the area.

Despite asking and being reassured I was given what I had ordered, when I unwrapped at home, the order was in correct for the third consecutive time! Very disappointing!

Has always been my go to for fish and chips, always enjoy and large a good portion for 2. This morning I got my usual, I didn’t question it because I never think about things until I get home! Why have I just paid £12.40 for a large cod and chips. May be freshly cooked but doesn’t justify the price. Have prices gone up that much or have I been overcharged. Will have to stop going there if that’s now the price which is a shame!

Food was lovely, have tried kebabs, fish , sausage in batter, 1/4 pounder, never had a bad meal. Staff are friendly and surroundings clean .

You havent lived until you sample a taste of this English tradition. Wrapped up in newpaper. the fish is so fresh and the chips so tasty you will wonder what youve been eating up to now. This Chip Shop is one of the nicest you will see. Its in the heart of Sandgate and been there for years. It has survived the times and now a National Monument ..lets say a chip off the old block ;) Thank you Tommy Tuckers

Love a Kebab from Tommy Tuckers. Always fry off the meat with the onions, adds flavour and gets rid of excess grease. I'm not local but will grab a meal if I'm in the area. Keep up the good work and I will be returning soon.

I went there for fish and cips and they didn’t gave me cod , I don’t know what fish it was , very greasy also the butter , I m so disappointed, will never go there again

‘Good’ food at best- become so expensive for takeaway- ok for convenience but can spend same money to eat in Restaurant. Wanted to charge extra £2/£3 to have kebab sauce separately-

Great food big portions good value

This is a very popular place locally so generally this means you will east freshly cooked fish. The quality of Fish is usually good but I was disappointing with my plaice which was a small fish bulked up with a lot of batter - and greasy batter at that. The chips are proper chip shop chips and served in generous portions. They are always wrapped separately to avoid them going soggy next to the fish. £9.50 to £10.50 is a little steep for 1 fish and chips - it's cheaper in the nearby Weatherperson! Tomy Tuckers do accept on line orders but they always say the food will be ready on 10 minutes regardless of how busy they are or how long it really takes. If your order Friday evening you will have to wait. They also ask that on line orders pay cash - I cant see why but they'll take a card payment anyway. Easy parking at the adjacent council car park.

I personally think its the best chippy in witham, just today got 2 senior fish and chips, 2 cod roes a pukka pie 🥧 and chips and a saveloy , freshly cooked , what top food it was highly recommend this shop.

Can't get any better in Witham! After spending a Saturday at work, did not much fancy cooking. So off to Tommy Tucker's to do my dinner for me. The whole experience was pleasant from the get go. The young man who took order did so with a pleasant smile. I didn't have to wait long despite the place being busy. When I got home and unwrapped my fish and chips I knew I was in for a treat. The batter was golden and crispy and the cod white and fluffy. The chips were chunky, fresh and all made for a delicious meal. Will call again, even as I have in the past.

The Golden Fish! Very friendly, perfect chips, just the right shade of brown, battered fish was light in colour not too thick, fish was fresh, and the gherkin polished it off! Good value for money, cheers Guy's.

Good quality for reasonable price! Something for everyone kids including. They ask for salt or vinegar to your chips so you can choose your favourite.

Seems to change ownership every couple of years but the shish kebab remains the best in town.

Went there first time, even though i wasn’t really a fish lover these guys pretty much changed my mind, with their quality options of Cod, Haddock, Rock and Place (Even though i haven’t tried Haddock or Place, looked delicious so trying it next time :)). Exceptional service ; best in town. Definitely recommend to everyone in Witham and outside. They do not disappoint !!!

Quality chippy, one of the few places that does Rock these days, also offer kebabs, chicken etc. Car park right outside.

This review is for their saveloys only their chips are fine but the saveloys are the most tasteless I HAVE EVER HAD and at 78 i had a few,I cannot believe how a thing you are supposed to eat could be so bland I have tried them about 6 months apart and they have not improved at all,how do they keep selling these things and who is coming back for more of this tasteless rubbish.

Just been to Tommy Tuckers for kebab and now know why I drive to Keveldon King in Keveldon. Tommy Tuckers meat was carved raw put on hot plate and just moved around when got it home half the meat was uncooked, totally unacceptable looked awful. Also while on there none of them behind the counter wearing masks and customers also on there with no masks, will not be returning again ever . Respect your customers and cook your food properly.

Food good but social distancing and wearing of face coverings not adhered to. Four customers came in while I was waiting for food to be cooked, none wearing a mask and none asked to do so. Will think twice before using again as did not feel safe.
